This story takes place in game and resolves a few plot holes. Once complete, this story will be part one of a two part series. The second part will deal with the aftermath of the second sorceress war.

He may be more open to her, but he is still sometimes closed, his feelings are sometimes still jumbled, and he still has a hard time expressing himself, as if he doesn't know the right words for the things he feels. There are times she knows she can't hold him too tight or he feels suffocated, and she respects that. It's part of loving him.

Squall looks at him, and then at his girlfriend, and then at him again, and when his eyes finally settle on Rinoa he sighs, as if defeated, squeezing the bridge of his nose between his fingers. "Hyne," he mutters, and he does sound a little defeated. "I swear only you two could manage to bond on your crazy plans that somehow inexplicably worked."

A pardon doesn't promise reintegration. Quistis finally gets around to returning Hyperion and gets more than she bargained for. Language.

Laguna struggles with trying to lay the foundation for a relationship with his son, while Squall just struggles with Laguna in general. (Loire family fluff, but mostly Squall/Laguna oyako centered.)

After a short peacetime, a new global war commences. A previously unknown Sorceress emerges during the fallout of Esthar's cataclysmic Lunar Cry to seize power, resuming Adel's campaign for world domination. Twenty years later, only Galbadia remains unconquered. Balamb Garden is no more, the surviving SeeDs scattered to every corner of the world. (NOW ON HIATUS!)
