Elsewhere, Lilith was trying to figure out why this human was able to beat her top student so easily. She had acquired all known knowledge of humans in the Boiling Isles, which was much more difficult than she thought since the last human that appeared was long since dead from 300 years ago. Still, Lilith was looking over all documents on humans for any instances of the powers she saw from Luz.
"That girl was strong and fast, nothing mentions humans being able to do something like that!"
'Should I got to the Emperor about this? No, no he would just say I'm being ridiculous but if someone was steaming the duel on Penstagram, I could back up my evidence.' Lilith thought as she pushed a book aside.
She pulled out her scroll and started looking through it. She typed "Covention Duel" in the search bar and waited for any results to show up. No surprise, a lot of options popped up. Now Lilith just had to narrow her search down to today's date. She saw a picture from the fight, seeing Luz move like a blur. Faster than any witch could move. Not even lightning magic or teleportation rushing could move as fast as this! Yet Luz was able to pull it off!
"This girl can't be human."
She continued to watch, but in slow motion, as Luz displayed great strength as well with a small glimpse of beams coming from her eyes to cut off an abomination's arms.
"What the?" Lilith asked, "She's... she's not human."
Lilith was adamant about this but with this video and her theory, she had to report this to Belos. To her, Luz was a dangerous individual and she needed to have measures taken for the protection of others. But she may not be able to before Luz does what a hero does best... help people.
The next day, Luz and Amity were walking around Bonesborough.
"Thank you for coming with me for some errands." Amity said to Luz.
"It's no problem. Besides, we need to get some things for you as well. Like a tooth brush and some other clothes." Luz said to her.
"Yeah, don't remind me." Amity said, thinking about that awful outfit that Eda came up with, "Seriously, even I know Humans don't wear things like that, it's like she fell into a dumpster and came out like that."
"Yeah, she's not the best when it comes to fashion." Luz said.
They walked by a stand of Crystal balls, with a special news alert.
"Good morning, Boiling Isles." The reporter said, "We have received word that there will be tremors today in the Bonesborough area. Please remain calm and stay in either open areas or secured structures."
"Tremors?" Luz asked, stopping and looking at the broadcast.
"We haven't had a tremor on the Isles since I was a toddler." Amity said.
"Can you tell me how bad it was?" Luz asked.
"Hmm, from what I remember, very bad." Amity said to her, "A lot of people died that day. It was one of the worst tragedies in the history of Bonesborough. I can imagine those beginning again."
"Don't worry, you'll be okay." Luz said, "I won't let anything hurt you."
'Or anyone else if I can help it.' Luz thought as they continued along their way.
"So, you know better this place better than I do." Luz said, "I've only been here a few days."
"Sure. The bazaar is just this way." Amity said to Luz, pointing in the direction.
"Lead the way." Luz said.
Amity lead Luz through the bazaar, going through the various shops to get everything that Amity needed. The two had a laugh as they stopped by a food stand for some lunch, one that Amity promised had something for Luz to eat. She may have been half alien but she was still cautious of what she could eat.
"Alright, let's-"
The ground started to shake. Luz and Amity gasped, the human hybrid immediately grabbing Amity and pulling her close for safety as everyone began panicking from the shaking.
"It's a tremor!" Someone shouted!
A building started shaking, and began cracking. A few witches tried to run, but they wouldn't be able to get out of the way before being crushed. They were about to be crushed by debris, when it was stopped. They looked and saw Luz, holding it up.
"Go!" Luz said, as she began losing her balance from the tremor.
The witches ran and Luz fell to the ground, getting over a ton worth of building falling on her. People watching gasped as Amity moved towards the building!
"Luz!" She called out before Luz burst out of the bricks, flying in the air.
"I'm fine! Just a little gravel in my hair." She said before spitting a rock out. "And in my mouth."
Soon the Tremor stopped and Luz landed.
"Amity, do you know how to repair a house?"
"Uh, no. I don't study construction magic much. Why?" Amity asked.
"I was going to try and repair this building." Luz said, gesturing to the fallen building, "It's the least I could do."
"Really? You could rebuild it?" Amity asked as Luz looked over the rubble some more.
"Why not? It's easy than just letting people go without homes. I've seen dad do it a few times if the damage isn't too bad."
"You're really nice, Luz." Amity said, "Well, I might go around, see if I can find any construction witches."
"That'll be even better!" Luz said with a smile, glad to have some help.
Amity went to go look for help, while Luz began to start getting small things done for it. As she did, the demons and witches she saved were watching and recorded what she was doing. She used her heat vision to fix the crack in the foundation. She separated the broken bricks from the usable bricks, and she used her X-rat vision to see just how deep the damage was. Soon Amity returned with a few construction witches. They saw Luz working to fix the damage, a little rushed but impressive for a beginner, before going to join her. Others began to post the videos and pictures on... what ever the Demon Realm version of the internet is. Each one talking about how she saved people and was now helping repair the houses. News of Luz began to spread, and people began calling her many things. A super human, a human who can use magic, an indestructible girl, and even…a hero. Soon, it made its way to the castle. It was something that the Golden Guard found and immediately rushed to report it to his uncle. Not surprisingly, Lilith was also there.
"Emperor Belos!" They both called out as they barged into the throne room! "You have to see this!"
They were surprised to see Belos speaking with someone they were unaware of.
"Lilith, Golden Guard, you know better to barge in at random." Belos said, "Now, what is so important that you have to interrupt my conversation with my friend?"
Both of them shivered under his glare and his friend's glare, before they remembered why they were here.
"W-We have something you must see!" Lilith said as she stepped forward and showed them both her scroll.
"The Human." Belos said, "This will make things more challenging."
"What do we do, your Majesty?" Lilith asked.
"Well, we can't label her as a criminal, it could cause riots due to her new reputation." Belos said, "Spy on her, see what you can find, any ties that we can use against her."
"Hmm, if that's the case, I think I know someone." Hunter said before showing a clip of Amity and Luz talking, smiling to each other. "It seems Lilith's star pupil is already buddy buddy with the human."
"Amity?" Lilith said in shock, looking at the clip.
"If this Blight girl is connected to her, then capturing her could bring the... girl to us." Darksied said.
"Capture Amity?" Lilith whispered, shocked by this.
"I have to agree but we need to wait for the right moment where the Blight girl is alone." Belos said as he nodded.
"Now go, my friend and I must discuss important matters." Belos said, waving them away.
Golden Guard and Lilith bowed to them and left the throne room, leaving Belos to talk with Darkseid as Lilith's thoughts began to grow heavy.
'I…I can't just let this happen…can I?' Lilith thought.
Even after all that happened, Lilith still cared about Amity greatly. Could she really be okay with kidnapping her to use as bait just to get Luz?
In the room, Darksied looked at Belos.
"She's not going to go through with kidnapping the young girl."
"She will, if she wants her sister to be cured."
"Aren't you just going to kill her regardless?" Darksied asked.
"Lilith doesn't need to know that."
Belos smirked under his mask, knowing just what to do to get what he wanted out of Lilith. Whether she liked it or not, she would do what he wanted to bring Luz to them.
"Now come, we've already caused enough damage with the portal today, if we cause anymore tremors than people may get suspicious."
Belos nodded to him as they both teleported to the hidden room where their machine was constructed and tested. Darkseid maintained the controls and shut it off, making the portal diminish for now.
"While it theoretically works, it is unstable without a power source."
"If only we could find one on this planet." Darkseid said to Belos.
"A few more weeks and we will." Belos said, "We just need to be patient and we'll have the hybrid."
Darkseid hummed as he looked to the portal.
"Very well. The girl shall play hero for now and when the time comes, a hero shall fall." He said, "All in good time."
