A/N: Here we are – the first of two of the biggest fights of this arc. Deku vs Shoto / Gohan vs Bakugo. Need I say more? I ended up splitting the chapters into two just to keep it from being one gigantic chapter. Hope you enjoy them. Let's get going!

I've included Review Responses at the end, plus all the ones I missed from the last chapter.

Opening Song:
"Vandalize" by One OK Rock

"Please," Shoto's mother pleaded, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Take Shoto with you, away from this life. He deserves better than to be trapped in this hellish cycle as Vegeta's son. Toya, Fuyumi, and Natsu, too! I can't bear to keep them here anymore. Take them and never let them come back!"

"Mama?" Shoto asked, his dual colored eyes widening with fear and uncertainty. "What are you saying?"

"I know he has Saiyan blood running through his veins, but he's still just a child," Rei continued, her voice breaking, her grip on Shoto's tiny wrist trembling. "He shouldn't be burdened with this legacy. It's too much for him. If this keeps up, Vegeta will kill him! Please, I beg you, take him with you to a place where he can have a chance at a different life."

"What? I can't take him!" The spiky haired Saiyan protested, waving his hands in the air with an awkward smile. "He's your son!"

"Please, Kakarot! I know now that you're strong enough to defeat Vegeta. You can keep Shoto safe from this life of constant battles and suffering."

"It's not that simple. I can't just take Vegeta's son away from him. He needs to find his own strength and convictions, just like we did in our own journeys."

"We will do everything in our power to help Shoto," said the mighty form of All Might, standing next to Kakarot. "There are services that offer guidance and support-"

"Against King Vegeta? Nobody will stand against him. Damn you!" Rei shouted, her desperation igniting her cries. "Do you realize what you've done? You've condemned us all! You've stoked Prince Vegeta's wrath, and it will descend upon us, his family! You don't know what he's capable of… he's a monster."

"I promise you, ma'am, we won't let anything happen to Shoto. We'll keep an eye on him. And if the time comes when he needs help, we'll be there for him."

For a long time, Shoto held on to the hope that those two heroes, would keep their promise of protecting them.

But he never saw them again.

The smiling Saiyan whom everyone praised as the so-called good hearted Saiyan, never returned to save him from his father's fist. He never returned to save his mother, his siblings…

The last thing Shoto remembered was Kakarot turning to give him one last smile before walking off.

And now, years later, as Kakarot's son, Gohan, extended his hand out to him, Shoto could feel nothing but empty, cold bitterness towards the son of the man who refused to save him when he needed it the most.

CHAPTER FORTY-EIGHT: THE SPORTS FESTIVAL X – FROSTFIRE

The sterile scent of the hospital permeated the air, mingling with the tension that hung thick like a blanket in the atmosphere. Gohan's eyes darted towards the hospital door with every passing nurse, hoping to catch a glimpse of Recovery Girl approaching with updates on Ochaco's well-being.

Gohan sat in the waiting area of the hospital ward, his fingers tapping restlessly against his knee. His mind was consumed with worry and the minutes felt like an eternity as he replayed the intense battle in his mind, every moment etched vividly in his memory.

Ochaco's fierce clash with Bakugo, the display of strength and power from both fighters, and the price that Ochaco had paid for her bravery. Lost in his thoughts, Gohan clenched his fists, gripping his hair, his worry manifesting as a quiet unease within him. He longed for a glimmer of hope, a sign that Ochaco would recover swiftly and return to him, her vibrant smile and warm, happy eyes shining with life and that childlike optimism that he'd come to love.

Gohan heaved a heavy sigh and rested his head on his palms as one singular truth continued to haunt him like a ghost – despite all his power, he couldn't protect her.

He couldn't save her.

Just as he couldn't save Shoto's brother from his own flames, how he couldn't save the victims that the villain had executed that night in Namek City, how he couldn't save the Winged Serpents Clan, and how he couldn't save his friends from the League of Villains' attack on the USJ.

What kind of hero was he if he couldn't save the ones who needed him?

Finally, the sound of approaching footsteps caught Gohan's attention. He looked up to see Recovery Girl making her way towards him with a tired sigh. Relief washed over him as he stood up, his eyes locking onto hers, seeking reassurance in her weary expression.

"Miss Recovery Girl, how is she?" Gohan's voice trembled with anticipation and concern.

Recovery Girl sighed, her gaze softening as she met Gohan's worried eyes.

"I'm afraid her injuries are quite serious," Recovery Girl said with a sympathetic tone, her voice tinged with concern. "Unfortunately… she will need to undergo surgery to address the critical aspects and ensure a successful recovery."

Gohan closed his eyes, feeling a lump forming in his throat.

"Surgery... Will she be alright?"

"The explosions inflicted severe damage to several of the thoracic disks in Ochaco's spine, resulting in her current condition. The surgery will focus on reducing the swelling and providing the best possible environment for the vertebrae to heal. With time and dedicated physical therapy, I have no doubt that she will quickly regain mobility again."

"…What?" Gohan asked, his eyes narrowing in disbelief. "Regain… mobility?"

"That's correct," Recovery Girl confirmed with a sad sigh. "Ochaco is paralyzed from the waist down.

Gohan's world came crashing down as he absorbed the devastating news. Paralyzed from the waist down... The words echoed in his mind.

Gohan's hands clenched into fists, his heart heavy with a torrent of emotions. The image of Ochaco, once so vibrant and full of life, now confined to a wheelchair, pierced his soul. His mind raced, searching for answers, seeking some semblance of comfort in the face of this devastating reality.

"How... How could this happen?" Gohan's voice trembled, his eyes welling up with tears that threatened to spill over. "Will she ever walk again?"

Recovery Girl's gaze softened, her eyes reflecting the pain she understood all too well. She approached Gohan, placing a gentle hand on his trembling shoulder.

"We can't predict the exact outcome, Gohan. But remember, the human body possesses remarkable resilience, and I have seen miracles happen. Ochaco is a fighter. She's resilient young woman, and I've seen her overcome great challenges before. With the expertise of our medical team and her own strength, I believe she has a strong chance of getting through this. Just have faith."

Gohan nodded, and wiped away at his glistening eyes.

"I'll be there for her, every step of the way," he promised.

"That's the spirit, Gohan. Right now, that's the best thing you can do to help her is to just be there for her. Your support will be crucial in Ochaco's healing process. But don't look so sad, Mister Son," Recovery Girl gave him a warm, tender smile. "They don't call me Recovery Girl for nothin', you know!"

Gohan managed a sad smile and nodded.

"Thank you, Recovery Girl. Please take good care of her. She means the world to me."

Recovery Girl patted Gohan's shoulder, a small smile gracing her lips.

"Yeah, I can tell that she does. I'll do my best, young man. Just remember, healing takes time. Give her the support she needs, and she'll bounce back stronger than ever."

With a heavy sigh, Gohan got up and approached Izuku, Melissa, Tsu, Mina, and Kendo, who were all arriving at the waiting room. His voice trembled slightly as he conveyed the weighty information. "Guys, I just spoke with Recovery Girl. Ochaco's injuries are severe, and she'll need surgery to address them. It's going to be a challenging road ahead for her."

The gravity of the situation settled upon the group, their faces etched with worry and sadness. They exchanged glances, a silent understanding passing between them as they prepared themselves to support Ochaco through her recovery.

"We need to stay strong for Ochaco," Gohan's voice grew resolute. "She's going to need all the support she can get. Let's be there for her, every step of the way."

His friends nodded, a collective resolve forming among them. They knew the challenges ahead would be difficult, but together, they were determined to see Ochaco through this trying time.

As the group huddled together in the waiting area, a familiar presence approached. All Might joined them, his eyes filled with worry and compassion.

"Uncle Might!" Melissa said, sadly, her eyes somber.
"How is young Ochaco doing?" All Might asked, his voice filled with genuine concern.

Gohan's voice trembled slightly as he conveyed the unfortunate news to All Might. "Recovery Girl says that Ochaco will need surgery. She's… she's really hurt."

All Might's expression softened, his gaze shifting between Gohan and Izuku, who stood beside him.

"I know this isn't easy for you, Gohan. I know how much Young Uraraka means to you. Sometimes, even the best heroes are faced with the harsh reality that they cannot save everyone. It is a burden we must bear, knowing that we have limitations."

"That's the thing, All Might," Gohan said. A fresh, steely edge cut through his voice and he glared up with anger boiling in his eyes. "I don't have any limitations."

"Gohan…"

But Gohan turned and stormed out of the waiting area. Izuku's mouth dropped at witnessing Gohan's unusual angry outburst and he turned and ran after him.

Izuku quickly caught up with Gohan, his footsteps echoing through the empty hallway. "Gohan, wait up!" he called out, his voice filled with concern.

Gohan slowed down but didn't turn to face Izuku. His fists were still clenched, and he seemed lost in his thoughts, struggling with the weight of his emotions.

"I understand how you feel," Izuku said gently, catching up to him. "But you can't let this consume you. Ochaco needs you to be strong for her, not just physically, but emotionally too."

Gohan finally turned to look at Izuku, his eyes still filled with anger and frustration. "I know, but it's just... I can't stand seeing her hurt like this. I feel so powerless, and I don't know what to do!"

"Of course she's hurt," a booming voice taunted. Vegeta stood at the end of the hall, walking towards them, arms crossed. "That fool, Bakugo, made a direct challenge towards you at the outset of the tournament, and you folded! That's why he was emboldened enough to strike at you where it hurts the most. The question is, what are you going to do about it, Gohan? Are you going to fold again, or are you going to man up for once in your life, grab him by the shirt collar and crush him like an insect?!"

Gohan's eyes narrowed at Vegeta's provoking words. His anger simmered beneath the surface.

"Bakugo… is never going to touch her again," he promised with a low purr. "Not after I'm done with him."

Vegeta chuckled, a hint of respect in his eyes.

"Good! I came to knock some sense into you, but it seems like my help wasn't needed after all. You've started to show some backbone, kid. But remember, power is nothing if you don't use it. Bakugo needs a lesson. Unleash your rage upon him, and show him the consequences of his actions. Make him regret ever touching a single hair on Gravity Girl's little head."

Gohan's fists clenched tightly, his eyes narrowing in response to Vegeta's goading.

"Bakugo hurt her. I won't let him get away with it."

"That's it – good! Let your rage fuel your power," Vegeta said with a sadistic smile. "Show him what happens when he messes with those you hold dear. He must be punished by the hand of a Saiyan."

"Easy! You don't have to listen to him, Gohan," Izuku interjected, his voice filled with concern. "Remember, we have to stay true to our ideals as heroes. Revenge isn't the answer. We need to protect and inspire."

Gohan's rage burned within him, threatening to consume him.

"No," he growled, shadows falling over his eyes. "Vegeta's right. Bakugo needs to learn a lesson, to understand the pain he's caused. I won't hold back."

"But you're a good person, Gohan! I know how much you're hurting right now," Izuku begged. "What? You don't think I get it? Ochaco is my friend, too. But losing control won't solve anything."

Gohan slowed to a stop without turning around. His heart, heavy with grief and consumed by a thirst for vengeance, drowned out Izuku's voice of reason. The pain of seeing Ochaco injured, the anguish of witnessing her suffering, ignited a dark fire within him that clouded his judgment.

"Izuku, I appreciate your words, but I'm sorry. I know Bakugo is your childhood friend. This time, I can't let it go," Gohan said, his voice tinged with bitterness. "The reason why Bakugo's always bullied you is because nobody ever put him in his place. Well, that stops today. Bakugo will pay for what he's done. I won't stand by and let him get away with hurting Ochaco."

Izuku's expression turned solemn, his eyes reflecting both concern and disappointment. "Gohan, please… Revenge won't heal the wounds. It will only perpetuate a cycle of violence."

Gohan's gaze hardened, his fists tightening at his sides.

"I don't care about cycles or ideals right now!" He shouted. "I'm done talking."

Vegeta's sinister smirk grew wider, reveling in Gohan's descent into darkness. "Finally, you embrace your true calling, Gohan. Excellent! This is the dawn of a new era for you! Haven't you realized it yet? All that zen and peaceful nonesense you've learned from the Namekians has been holding you back – it was only when your anger boiled over into rage that you gained a true grasp on your Super Saiyan power. So get out there and let your rage fuel your power! Show them all the true might of a Saiyan warrior."

With a resolute nod, Gohan turned away from his friends, his mind set on a path of vengeance. The desire for retribution surged through his veins, overshadowing any semblance of reason. In that moment, he became a force to be reckoned with, a tempest of raw power and pent-up emotions.

Vegeta was right. Rage was the trigger. It was only through rage that he had been able to tap back into that golden power that had eluded him for so long…

"And you," Vegeta said, pointing a finger at Izuku, stopping him in his tracks. "I witnessed your attack on Shinso, or rather, how you escaped his hold. The power you unleashed… it felt very familiar. It's ki signature is of Saiyan origin, no doubt about it. In fact, it felt a lot like Kakarot's…"

"Oh, really?" Izuku gulped, looking away. "I guess I never really thought about it like that… sorry, I really should get going. My match is starting any minute now."

"Your match…" Vegeta smiled. "Listen well, Izuku Midoriya. It is my Shoto's duty to surpass All Might and Kakarot, and become the the most powerful warrior this world has ever seen. And his match with someone with Saiyan powers will be a good testing ground for how much training he has left. So hit him hard, Midoriya. Do not disgrace yourself or him by holding back."

Izuku gritted his teeth, absorbing Vegeta's words. He knew the weight of Shoto's ambition and the expectations that came with being the son of Endeavor. The pressure to surpass All Might and his own father was immense, and Izuku understood the importance of this match for Shoto's growth as a hero.

"Endeavor," Izuku said. "I am not All Might. And the same goes for your Shoto. He may be your son, but he isn't you!"

Izuku glared up at Vegeta, who scowled, staring back at him with his arms crossed. The tension was thick in the air, but Vegeta didn't respond. Finally, Izuku tore his gaze and walked away.

He wasn't just going into this fight to win. Izuku had seen the negative effect that Vegeta had on Shoto. The weight of his expectations were a palpable burden on Todoroki's shoulders, causing him to strike out against the world. But deep down, Shoto was a good person. Izuku had seen it throughout the tournament.

Even if Shoto didn't see it in himself, he was so much more than the Saiyan genes he hated so much. In his own way, Shoto needed someone to save him, too.

The pillars of fire rose high into the darkening sky, stoking the stadium's anticipation.

"WAHOO!" Mic shouted. "Can you feel that energy? This next battle is going to be epic! It's the son of the Number Two Hero, the guy who has been dominating his opponents with icy fervor – it's the Hero Class 1A's Shoto Todoroki! VERSUS! The Sports Fest's underdog who has climbed his way to the top by showing us some impressive moves! Izuku Midoriya!"

As Izuku climbed up the steps to meet Shoto on the fighting stage, he met Shoto's determined dual-colored eyes.

Shoto's dark red hair fell over his black eyes which looked exactly like Vegeta's, while his white hair flicked over his bright blue eye.

"So, here we are," Shoto said in his hushed tone, his eyes blazing with intensity.

"Yeah… I'm ready, Shoto," Izuku said, his voice steady despite the nerves that threatened to consume him. "Let's give it our all."

"I won't hold back, Midoriya," Shoto said. "I hope you won't either."

"The winner will advance to the Grand Finale!" Midnight called. "Ready boys?"

"Yes, ma'am!"

"Let's do it!"

"CLASH!"

He'll start with an ice attack from his foot… Izuku thought, bringing his hand up and clutching it at the wrist.

The burn mark that Shoto had left on his hand from the Cavalry Battle still hadn't completely healed, and had left an ugly scar, reminding Izuku of just how volatile and powerful Shoto truly was with ice and fire.

As predicted, Shoto stomped his foot forward and a wave of ice surged out towards him. With adrenaline coursing through his veins, Izuku leaped to the side, narrowly evading the icy wave that rushed past him, leaving a trail of frost in its wake. He could feel the chill in the air as the temperature dropped and zoomed past him.

The ice curled and snaked around him, and Izuku brought his finger up, priming his middle finger against his thumb. It glowed with One for All's radiant energy, charged and unleashed.

"SMASH!" Izuku shouted. A massive blast of air shot out, tearing through the ice and knocking Shoto backwards. Shoto shot his heel back and erected a wall of ice that stopped him from being pushed back.

"Aghhh!" Izuku grunted, glancing down at his hand. A numbing, painful sensation ran down his finger, which hung broken in his hand. It hurt, and Izuku knew he could only do so much before completely destroying his body, but he couldn't afford to hold back against someone like Shoto.

Izuku gritted his teeth, pushing past the pain and focusing on his goal. He couldn't let his injuries deter him; he had come too far to back down now. With a pained grunt, Izuku charged forward again. His broken finger throbbed, but he ignored the pain, channeling his energy into each movement.

With a burst of speed, Izuku dodged another torrent of ice and closed the gap between them. His mind raced, analyzing every move Shoto made, trying to find a weakness, an opening. He had to end this, and quickly, before his body gave out.

Taking a deep breath, Izuku braced himself for the pain and unleashed another powerful One for All attack with his ring finger. The blast tore through the ice, creating a path forward. He charged toward Shoto, determined to break through his defenses.

Shoto's eyes narrowed, and he raised a wall of ice to block Izuku's advance.

Gritting his teeth, Izuku brought his hand up and used his index finger this time, blasting against the ice with all his might. With that, he cleared a path directly towards Todoroki. Izuku grunted and forced his hand to close into a fist.

"SMASH!" He shouted, delivering a punch aimed at Todoroki's gut. Shoto managed to raise up a tiny pillar of ice that cushioned the blow, but the blast still hurled him away. Izuku could feel the strain on his body, the pain in his elbow and three broken fingers intensifying, but he ignored it.

Shoto skidded across the ground, his ice wall shattered from Izuku's powerful attack. He quickly regained his footing, his eyes locked onto Izuku with a mix of determination and frustration.

"You're so intent on winning, that you're prepared to sacrifice your own body," Shoto said, his voice resolute. "You're strong, Midoriya, but how long do you think you can keep this up until you run out of body parts to break?"

"I can do this all day," Izuku said with a smile. His breathing was heavy, his body still feeling the impact of his own powerful attack. He knew that Shoto was no pushover, and this battle was far from over.

"You want an endurance match," Shoto taunted, staring at Izuku's broken fingers, "but I'll end this quickly!"

Another ice wave shot out towards him and once again, Izuku blasted it away. As the icy broke apart and littered the stage, Izuku gasped. Todoroki had vanished. Movement from above blurred down towards him, and Izuku jumped out of the way just in time for Shoto's ice-covered fist to miss, burying into the ground.

Shoto shot forward after him, suddenly on the offensive now, swinging his arm up to send another wave of ice swirling towards Izuku.

Izuku knew he had to act quickly, but his options were limited. All of the fingers on his right fist were broken and this next attack was massive. If he used an evenly distributed Full Cowling, it still wouldn't be strong enough to break past the mighty wave. He had no choice. He needed something stronger!

One for All… DetroitSmash! Izuku reared his arm back and shot forward with a mighty punch that shattered the ice wave, but destroyed all of the bones on his left hand. Izuku cried out in pain, but landed on his feet safely. The blast tore through the ice and struck Shoto, sending him sliding backwards even further. But once again, Shoto raised up a tower of ice behind him, stopping him from flying off the stage.

"WHOA! Did you see that?!" Mic shouted. "Todoroki is truly living up to his father's reputation as a prodigious hero-in-training! Despite facing the full force of Midoriya's powerful attack, he stood his ground and refused to back down! Midoriya's broken but he still refuses to go down! These young heroes are showing us what it means to stand tall in the face of adversity!"

Izuku fell to one knee, clenching his teeth down in pain, clutching his broken arm with his broken fingers. Sweat poured down his brow and mixing with tears of pain as he fought to maintain his focus, analyzing Shoto's movements and searching for an opening. Ice had formed all along the right side of Shoto's body, making him shiver visibly, his breaths coming out in visible puffs. His skin had taken on a pale glow from the cold.

He's trembling… does that mean he's reaching some sort of limit? I have to keep fighting… push past the pain!

"That was much more powerful than your previous attacks, Midoriya," Shoto commented, rising to his feet. "Trying to keep me at bay? Smart. I have to say, thank you for dragging it out. Look…"

Shoto motioned up at the stands with a nod.

"He's furious that I'm not using his powers."

Vegeta stood by the rails, arms crossed, glaring down in irritation.

He's not focused on winning, Izuku analyzed. If he'd just focused, this fight would have been over a long time ago. But he's too obsessed with proving his point…

Shoto turned back to Midoriya as if reading his thoughts.

"You've fought well, Midoriya. But you've run out of fingers to rely on. Why don't we finish this? Heaven Piercing Ice Wall!"

A massive ice wall surged up from the ground, towering to an immense height and soaring towards Izuku with incredible speed and power. The audience gasped in awe at the sheer magnitude of the icy onslaught as it swept across the stage, covering everything in its path entirely.

Izuku's heart pounded in his chest as he saw the formidable ice wall approaching. He knew he couldn't block and he was out of fingers. His mind raced, searching for a way to evade the attack.

Think, Izuku! You can do this! he silently encouraged himself, trying to keep his focus amid the chaos of battle.

Suddenly, an idea struck him. He glanced at the scar on his hand, a constant reminder of the Cavalry Battle. He knew he had to push beyond his limits, just like he had before. He was out of fingers on both hands but still…

"The power within you is a sacred torch passed down by generations, who in the name of justice, pray for peace. And it is this unified power, which we pass on to you. So reach in deep within you and may the fire of our spirits light your path."

Drawing upon the One For All to his elbows, he focused all his power into one last attack. Charged energy, massive and threatening to burst out from his body, formed from the center of his back and came rushing out of his hands. With a guttural yell, he released a powerful explosion of ki from his palms, using his hands as a makeshift cannon.

"MAIDEN BLAST!" He shouted.

A swirl of pink ki blasts shot out of his hands and collided with the towering ice wall, causing a cataclysmic explosion that sent ice and rushing shockwaves rippling through the arena. The impact sent Izuku hurtling backward as his elbows snapped. He cried out in sheer agony, but he managed to land on his feet and slide to a stop.

"Did he do it? Did Midoriya manage to hold back the ice wall?" Mister Satan's voice echoed through the stadium.

As the smoke cleared, it became apparent that the ice wall had been shattered into countless pieces, scattered across the arena. Izuku stood panting, his arm trembling from the immense strain he had endured.

"Amazing!" Present Mic exclaimed. "Izuku Midoriya has once again defied the odds with his sheer determination and willpower!"

Vegeta, still glaring down at the arena, clenched his fists, acknowledging the young hero's resilience.

"There it is again… that familiar ki blast," Vegeta muttered to himself.

"Hey boss," Nappa said from his seat. "Does this mean he's another son of Kakarot's or something? Who would have thought Kakarot had so many sons?"

Vegeta scowled at Nappa's question.

"Who knows," he grumbled. "It doesn't matter. His power is nothing compared to Shoto's."

Nappa chuckled and shrugged. "I don't know, boss. He seems pretty strong to me. And that Maiden Blast or whatever it was, it was pretty impressive. If Prince Shoto doesn't hurry up and use his full power-"

"Tch!" Vegeta gritted his teeth.

"Dammit," Shoto grunted, picking himself up with ragged breaths. "Your blasts are so untrained, that the release of energy is ripping your body apart. Why are you going this far?"

"Because… you're trembling, Todoroki," Izuku responded with a pained groan. He looked up with watered eyes. "The ice on your right side… normally you make up for the cold by using your fire. But you refuse to do that now, just to prove a point? Listen, we're all doing our best to win – to make our dreams into a reality. You think you can win by using only half your strength?"

Izuku rose to his feet and clenched his broken fists defiantly.

"Stop screwing around and come at me with all you've got!"

Shoto's intense eyes sharpened and he bared his teeth in frustration.

"What are you saying? You want my fire, Midoriya? What, did my monster of a father bribe you or something?"

With that, Shoto shot forward, his eyes blazing with rage.

"You're gonna regret telling me that, Izuku. Because now I'm mad!"

Izuku's eyes glued onto Shoto, analyzing his moves. His attacks are definitely slower. Is it because of all the frost in his body?

Shoto jumped up into the air with his fist reared back and the moment his foot left the ground, Izuku pounced forward. The intensity in his eyes unnerved Shoto momentarily.

"Imagine the egg in the microwave…" Izuku told himself. The power of One for All surged in his reddened, broken arm. "It won't explode… it won't explode… Full Cowling! SMASH!"

Izuku ducked down from Shoto's swing and landed a powerful punch straight at Todoroki's core.

Shoto grunted as the mighty smash slammed into his gut and sent him flying all the way back across the fighting stage.

"A direct hit – what a solid punch!" Mic howled. "That's the kinda action I like to see!"

Shoto rolled to his feet and pounced back, determined to reach Izuku. If he could just reach him with his Frost Dance, it would all be over.

In his attempts to get closer to Izuku, Shoto's attacks became more desperate and erratic. He tried to close the distance between them, but Izuku was quick to retaliate with powerful smashes and ki blasts. Each exchange took a toll on both of them, with Izuku's body snapping unnaturally in several places, but Izuku refused to back down.

With each collision of their powers, the arena trembled, and the audience roared in excitement at the display of strength and determination from both young heroes. The ground around them became littered with debris from the force of their clashes.

Izuku's broken fingers throbbed with pain, and his body was exhausted from pushing himself to the limit. But he knew he couldn't afford to hold back. He had to keep going.

Cementoss watched the fight intently from his referee seat.

"Should I step in, Midnight?" He asked. "Midoriya knows that Recovery Girl will heal his wounds after the match. He's being careless and hurting himself. He probably doesn't even feel the pain from all the adrenaline, but those injuries look serious. Even if he wins, he might not be able to fight in the next match! At this point, he might even end up with permanent damage."

"Not yet, Cementoss," Midnight ordered. "Not.. yet…"

Midoriya… Aizawa watched on from the commentator box. It's not that he's careless, he's pushing past his limits, like he's been taught. He's always been determined and focused… but man, those injuries look bad. Even if he is full of adrenaline, to sustain damage like that and keep pushing forward takes an absurd amount of willpower and resolve. What's driving him? Why's he so intent on keeping this fight going?

Shoto sent off another wave of ice.

Izuku reached up and inserted his thumb into his mouth, using it as a trigger to unleash another powerful blast. His limbs and fingers were all but pulverized at this moment and they swung unnaturally as he charged towards Todoroki.

Shoto gritted his teeth as he took in the grizzly sight.

"Dammit, Midoriya!" he shouted. "Stand down! Why are you putting yourself through this?!"

Izuku launched another blast of air with his broken finger, which missed as his broken hand dangled.

"I wanna live up to people's expectations!" Izuku cried in pain. "I wanna be able to smile while doing something good for them. I wanna be a pro! Whatever it takes to be a hero!"

Shoto gasped as slowly, something in his mind clicked. It was vague, little more than an image… a blur… a whisper in time.

"Shoto…"

Izuku heaved forward, launching himself at Todoroki and striking him in the chest with his head. Shoto grunted and fell back. Izuku landed and pushed himself back up, but he didn't chase after Todoroki.

"That's why I'll give it my all… just like you should be!" Izuku shouted. He slowed to a stop and glared up at Todoroki through tears. "There's no way to know what you've gone through, Shoto. Your life has been so much different from mine. But right now, put that aside and stop screwing around! If you wanna reject your father, fine!"

Shoto wasn't even listening to Izuku anymore. His eyes looked at something distant and faded with time. Memories that he had locked away began pooling in.

His mother's hand clutching his wrist.

Her terrified, crying blue eyes.

Kakarot's final glance as he and All Might walked away forever…

"But you don't have the right to be number one if you're not going to use your full power!"

As the ice on his body crawled through his skin, threatening to overtake him, suddenly, Shoto was lost in a flashback…

Nine Years Ago…

Prince Vegeta's broken body landed on the floor in front of the large throne, and a thick silence fell over the gathered Saiyans clad in royal red robes. All eyes were fixed on the fallen prince, witnessing his defeat at the hands of Goku. The room was filled with tension and anticipation, as everyone waited for King Vegeta's reaction.

The King, sitting atop his imposing throne, watched the scene unfold with a stoic expression. He glanced at Goku, who stood tall despite his heaving breaths and torn clothes, blood seeping from his wounds, his scarlet power surging around him. The Saiyan Lords surrounding the throne exchanged glances, unsure of how the King would respond to this unexpected turn of events.

Vegeta struggled to get up, blood trickling down his face, but his eyes whitened out and he collapsed, unconscious.

King Vegeta heaved a tired sigh.

"Take Prince Vegeta to the Zero Zone," he commanded. "And… bring me back his tail."

As the Saiyan warriors stepped forward to pick up the injured prince, the king turned to All Might and Goku, who were staring at him in anticipation. The King gave them a slight nod.

"The victory is yours, Kakarot," he said. "As promised, Prince Vegeta will be dealt with. He will not bother you or your families any longer. Now go."

All Might and Goku nodded and turned to leave. When they got to the entrance of the palace, All Might and Goku turned to see Shoto's mother standing there, her eyes filled with desperation and sadness. She clutched onto her son's hand tightly, her voice trembling as she spoke. Shoto stared up at Goku and All Might with big innocent, dual colored eyes.

All Might's heart sank at the sight of the anguished mother and the pain in Shoto's eyes. Goku's expression mirrored his concern, understanding the weight of her request.

"I know he has Saiyan blood running through his veins, but he's still just a child," she continued, her voice breaking. "He shouldn't be burdened with this legacy. If this keeps up, Vegeta will kill him!

Please, I beg you, take him with you to a place where he can have a chance at a different life."

"What?" Goku said with an awkward smile. "I can't take him! He's your son!"

Shoto's mother's voice trembled as she continued to plead with Goku and All Might. "Please, I know now that you're strong enough to defeat Vegeta. You can keep Shoto safe from this life of constant battles and suffering."

Goku and All Might exchanged a concerned glance. They understood the depth of Shoto's mother's worries, but they also knew that defeating Vegeta would not solve everything.

"It's not that simple," Goku explained gently. "I can't just take Vegeta's son away from him. He needs to find his own strength and convictions, just like we did in our own journeys."

All Might stepped forward, placing a reassuring hand on Shoto's mother's shoulder. "We will do everything in our power to help Shoto," he assured her. "There are services that offer guidance and support."

"Against King Vegeta and the Saiyans?" Rei spat. "Are you serious? Nobody dares stand up against Vegeta!"

"Gosh, I'm really sorry, Rei," Goku said, rubbing his head. "But Chi-Chi's got her hands full with Gohan right now. She would kill me if I showed up with another kid!"

Shoto's mother's pleads turned to rage.

"Damn you!" She shouted. "Do you realize what you've done? You've condemned us all! You've stoked Vegeta's wrath, and it will descend upon us, his family!"

"We'll do everything we can to protect you and your children," All Might promised. "We're heroes, and it's our duty to keep innocent people safe. You and Shoto are not alone in this. I promise you, ma'am, we won't let anything happen to Shoto. We'll keep an eye on him and if the time comes when he needs help, we'll be there for him."

But Rei shook her head.

"You don't know what he's capable of… Vegeta… he's a monster!"

All Might sighed and turned to leave with Goku.

"I'm so sorry," he said.

As Goku and All Might walked away, they couldn't help but feel the weight of the situation pressing on them. They understood the danger that Vegeta posed, not just in physical strength but also in the emotional turmoil he left in his wake.

"I wish there was more we could do," Goku said, his voice tinged with regret.

All Might nodded, his usually bright smile replaced with a solemn expression. "I know. Legally, we can't take Shoto away from his family, but we can do our best to protect them."

Back at the entrance of the palace, Shoto's mother, Rei, hugged her son tightly, feeling torn between the fear of what was to come and the hope that Goku and All Might could keep her family safe. Shoto could sense his mother's distress and hugged her back, trying to offer comfort despite his own internal struggle.

"We have to stay strong, Mama," Shoto said quietly. "Please don't cry. All Might and Kakarot promised to protect us. I know they will! All Might is the greatest hero ever and Kakarot is super strong! Whatever happens, I know we can count on him!"

Rei nodded, wiping away her tears. "You're right, Shoto. We're going to be safe. Everything's going to be alright."

As they neared the Capsule Corp airship, it's engines whining to life and rustling Goku's orange gi, the spiky haired Saiyan's steps slowed to a stop and he slowly turned back to face Shoto one last time.

Little did they understand the ramifications of their actions.

Vegeta was set to be banished forever, his tail cut from him, severing him from his Royal status as well as his powers, and cast into the dreaded Zero Zone forever, never to return again. But Vegeta turned on the Saiyan Lords and killed them all, with the help of Nappa and a few other Saiyans loyal to him.

From then on, Vegeta took his family and fled, living as a hired mercenary until the day he met Asahi Yaoyorozu, who used his massive wealth and influence to give Vegeta a new identity.

Enji Todoroki – The Flame Hero: Endeavor.

"I will reject you," Shoto vowed, standing to his feet with a pained grunt. "I refuse… to use my left side."

"It's yours!" Midoriya vociferated, his voice quaking. Tears of pain and frustration poured down his cheeks. "It's your Quirk, not his! Look at me, Todoroki!"

Izuku lifted his hand up. It was almost purple, completely broken and bloodied from the fight, but the burn mark was still visible in the palm of Izuku's hand.

"You used your flames before, during the Cavalry Battle? Did you forget that?!" Izuku growled.

Shoto gasped and his eyes widened.

"You used your flames to protect Yaoyorozu! And that's not all – earlier, when you were fighting Videl, you used your left side to melt the ice from her body before it could hurt her. It's you, Shoto! You used your powers for good, not him! You're not a prisoner of your lineage, Todoroki! THIS! THIS IS WHO YOU ARE!"

This is who I am…

Shoto stared at Izuku, his heart picking up pace.

There was… so much that I'd forgotten…

Goku slowed to a stop and All Might looked up, noticing his slowed pace. He turned to look at young Shoto one last time and turned, walking back towards him.

"Hello there," Goku said with a warm smile, crouching down to the boy's level. "I'm Kakarot, but you can call me Goku. It's nice to meet you, Prince Shoto."

Shoto blinked, seemingly taken aback by Goku's friendly demeanor. He had grown up surrounded by formality and protocol, and Goku's genuine smile was a welcome change.

"Hello, Goku," Shoto replied softly, his voice carrying a hint of shyness.

Goku could sense the boy's reserved nature, but he didn't want to push him. Instead, he decided to break the ice by showing off a bit.

"Say, do you want to see something cool?" Goku asked, his eyes gleaming with excitement.

Shoto looked up, intrigued by the offer. "What is it?"

Goku's grin widened as he raised his hand, forming a small energy sphere in his palm. The vibrant ki sparkled and danced, captivating the young prince's attention.

"Wow!" Shoto exclaimed, his eyes widening in wonder.

Goku gently floated the energy sphere towards Shoto, who reached out to touch it with a sense of curiosity. The fiery energy felt warm and comforting, leaving the young prince with a sense of awe.

"It's just like my Papa's Quirk," Shoto said, looking up at him with newfound admiration. "Wow, you're really cool, Goku! You must be crazy strong!"

Goku chuckled, ruffling the boy's hair playfully.
"Well, I do like to train and get stronger," he said. "But I also believe in using my strength to protect others, and to make the world a better place."

Shoto tilted his head thoughtfully, his eyes shining with curiosity.

"You protect others, like a hero?" he asked, a glimmer of hope in his voice.

Goku nodded, a warm smile on his face.

"Yup," he said. "I'm trying to be a hero, just like my big brother over there. His name is All Might, and he's the greatest hero in the world! And you know what he always says? Being a hero means using your strength and abilities to help people and make the world a safer, happier place."

Shoto seemed to ponder Goku's words for a moment before speaking again.

"I... I want to be a hero too," he said, his voice filled with determination.

Goku's eyes lit up with excitement.

"That's fantastic, Shoto!" he exclaimed. "With your powers and your heart, you could become an amazing hero!"

Shoto looked up at Goku, a mix of eagerness and uncertainty in his eyes.

"But... my father wants me to follow a different path," he said, his voice tinged with sadness and his eyes watered with tears. "And I… I'm scared! I don't want to be the kind of person he is! I don't wanna be someone who bullies mama and hurts people!"

Rei crouched down and took her son into her arms, and he buried his crying face in her yukata. Rei passed a gentle hand over his head, soothing his pain.

"But honey, you still want to become a hero right?" Rei asked him with a loving, soothing voice. "Just remember, stay true to yourself. You're not a prisoner of your lineage. It's okay to use your powers to become who you want to be."

There's so much that I'd forgotten…

"Your mama's right, Shoto!" Goku said with a smile. "You're not a prisoner of your lineage. Your father's powers are a part of you, but they don't define who you are. You have the power to choose your own path, to be the person you want to be."

"But it's hard," Shoto cried. "My father... he's so strong, and he wants me to follow in his footsteps. I feel like I have to live up to his expectations."

Goku stared into Shoto's watery eyes for a moment and then a smile crept up in his face.

"You have ice powers, don't you?" He asked, and Shoto nodded. "Okay, try forming an ice crystal. Just try it."

Shoto nodded shyly and brought his tiny right hand up, extending his fingers. A small, shimmering ice crystal appeared in his hand, bright blue and giving off steam from the cold.

"Good!" Goku commended him, reaching out and touching the ice ki orb, and it floated in his palm. "Now try making a fireball. Can you do that?"

Shoto nodded again and brought his hand up.

This time a swirling, heated ball of fiery ki formed in his palm and Shoto held it up to Goku.

"Excellent job, Shoto! The fire represents your father's lineage and this ice crystal represents your mama's. Now, let's combine them and see what happens," Goku said, a glint of excitement in his eyes.

As he and Shoto brought their hands together, the fire and ice energies merged, creating a magnificent ki orb that crackled with both heat and frost. It was a mesmerizing blend of colors, with streaks of blue and red swirling in harmony.

Shoto stared at the ki orb in awe, realizing the immense potential of combining his powers.

"That's amazing," he whispered.

Goku smiled warmly.

"You see, Shoto, when you embrace all aspects of yourself, you become even stronger," he said. "Your fire and ice can complement each other, creating a power that's truly unique to you. This… is who you are, Shoto. Don't you ever forget it!"

"This… is… who I am…" Shoto's uncertainty began to fade as he held the fiery ki orb that burned as cold as ice. As the ki orb slowly dissipated, Shoto felt a surge of confidence.

"You don't have to choose between fire and ice," Goku said. "Instead, use both to create a new kind of strength, a power that is uniquely your own!"

Memories of Goku's lesson flooded Shoto's mind. The weight of his lineage and his father's expectations no longer held him back. Instead, he felt a newfound sense of empowerment, knowing that he could embrace all aspects of himself and use his powers to their full potential.

As the battle intensified, Shoto's eyes gleamed with determination. He took a deep breath and centered himself, recalling the image of the ki orb made of fire and ice that Goku had shown him. He knew it was time to unleash his flames like never before.

"I want it too, Midoriya," Shoto said, unleashing all his reservations. "I'll be a HERO!"

With a resolute shout, Shoto summoned his fire powers, and a fierce blaze erupted around him. Flames danced and roared, creating a scorching aura that engulfed the battlefield.

Shoto gritted his teeth, channeling the lessons he had learned from Goku. He allowed his ice to flow alongside the flames, creating a perfect balance of power. The icy tendrils formed a swirling vortex around his fire, augmenting its intensity and turning it into an inferno of both heat and frost.

The intense fusion of fire and ice energy within him began to surge to new heights. His memories of Goku's lesson fueled a spark deep within his heart, and in a moment of sheer intensity, he felt an overwhelming surge of power surging through his veins.

With a triumphant roar, a new aura erupted around Shoto, engulfing him in a breathtaking display of fiery crimson and icy blue. His hair, usually half-white and half-red, now blazed with a bright, fiery orange on one half, while the other half shimmered with an ethereal hue of ice.

The onlookers gasped in awe, recognizing the emergence of a new form – a form that seemed to embody the very essence of Shoto's inner turmoil and determination.

"AHHHH! Is that his fire?!" Mic wailed, taken aback by the sudden explosion of flames in the ring.

"He's using his fire!" Melissa gasped, holding onto Iida as they looked on with stunned expressions.

In this new transformation, Shoto's powers seemed boundless. Fiery torrents clashed with frigid gusts, creating an extraordinary spectacle of power. The very ground beneath him shook with the force of his energy, and the battlefield became a canvas of blazing inferno and freezing frost.

Midoriya, too, was left in awe of Shoto's newfound might.

"Incredible," he murmured, eyes wide with admiration. "Todoroki… is that a new transformation?!"

"This is something I was able to achieve only once, thanks to the words of a good man. It's a level of Super Saiyan which no other Saiyan can achieve," Shoto responded. "This is who I am! Super Saiyan FROSTFIRE!"

The spectators could hardly believe their eyes. Shoto's transformation was a testament to the strength of his spirit and the power of embracing his true self. As he battled Midoriya, it became clear that this new form had unlocked incredible potential within him.

"YES, SHOTO!" Vegeta shouted with pride, jumping from his seat, the fires of his own golden Super Saiyan form blazing. "Have you finally accepted your purpose? That's it! Very good! This is the dawn of a new era for us! With my blood in your veins you will live up to the reason I created you – and become the mightiest warrior in the planet!"

But Shoto wasn't even paying attention to his father's words anymore.

In that moment, Shoto felt free. Free from the restraints of his past, free from his father's expectations, and free from the fear of fully embracing his powers. He was no longer just the boy with half-cold, half-hot abilities.

He was Super Saiyan Frostfire, and he would no longer be held back by his lineage.

Izuku stared at Frostfire with widened eyes.

"Why are you smiling?" The Super Saiyan asked and his voice reverberated with a godly echo. "With those injuries, and in this hopeless situation, you must be crazy. Don't blame me for what happens next!"

With determination burning in his eyes, Todoroki crouched low to the ground, feeling the fiery intensity building within him. His icy side whispered with the chill of determination, ready to embrace the flames of his power. Taking a deep breath, he focused his energy, preparing for the final assault.

With a burst of force, Todoroki pounced upward, his feet leaving the ground as he soared into the air. Flames and ice danced in harmony around him, leaving a trail of blazing and frosty streaks as he ascended higher and higher. The world seemed to blur beneath him, but Todoroki's vision was clear, his goal steadfast in his mind.

Izuku watched with awe as Todoroki soared into the heavens, just like Gohan. Izuku braced himself and prepared to follow him into the sky. Summoning the power of One for All to his knees, Izuku launched himself after Todoroki.

"Let's do this, Shoto!" Izuku called out with sheer intensity. "Come at me with everything you've got, Todoroki!"

Shoto's left hand sizzled with icy blue flames, while his right hand seethed with a scorching inferno. He brought both hands up, lifting one knee up, charging up the orb in his hand. His fiery and icy auras clashed, creating an awe-inspiring spectacle of power. I see now, Midoriya... Thank you.

"GALICK GUN!" Shoto called out and the power intensified.

Down below, Izuku brought his hands together at the wrist. With adrenaline coursing through his veins, he raised his hands, emulating the familiar stance he had seen Gohan use in the past.

It's now or never! Hero Analysis Book 18 page 47 – The Kamehameha Wave! Gohan charges energy from the center of his back and it flows down his arms, pooling at his hands. I saw him teach Goten how to do this in person during the Junior League. I can do this! I can do this!

"KAAAAAAMEEEEE-" Izuku's hands glowed green and blue, reflecting both the might of One For All and the Kamehameha. The determination in his eyes matched Shoto's, as he readied himself for the coming clash. A sea blue colored power washed over him and with it, a new layer of sheer pain originating from his back. It felt like his spine was going to explode from the sheer power. "HAAAAAMEEEEE-"

All Might's eyes widened in alarm as he saw what his young student was attempting. He knew that Izuku lacked the proper training and control needed to wield such a powerful technique. With a burst of speed, he rushed towards Izuku, trying to reach him before he could unleash the devastating attack.

"That's it, Midnight!" Cementoss called out. "One of them could get killed!"

Cementoss erected several layers of cement between them and Midnight tried to use her Quirk to put the combatants to sleep, but the gusts of wind coming from the battlefield prevented that from working.

It was too late.

"FIRE!"

"HAAAAAA!" Izuku's hands emitted a brilliant blue energy, and the Kamehameha wave surged forth. The sheer power of the attack threatened to engulf him, but he stubbornly held his ground, unwilling to back down.

"All Might, stop him!" Midnight cried out, trying to intervene, but the energy blast was already in motion.

The uncontrolled blast sent him hurling back to the ground, crashing into the stage. Izuku screamed out in pain as the powerful explosion sent shockwaves through his body, shattering the ground and sending debris flying in all directions. The force of the explosion was too great. Izuku felt the bones in his arms, torso and legs shatter under the impact, and pain washed over him like a tidal wave.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the arena, Shoto's Firefrost Galick Gun surged forward, propelled by the fury of his emotions. The fiery blast shot down from Shoto's hands, with an icy tendril encircling it as it tore straight through Izuku's untrained Kamehameha and struck the walls of cement that Cementoss brought up. The powerful attack shattered the walls and engulfed Midoriya, lifting up a cloud of smoke and debris.

Everyone in attendance, except for Vegeta, hid against the surging cold and heated air that rushed from the center of the stadium. And then the violent winds subsided and it was finally over.

Groaning, Midnight picked herself up from the ground, her eyes scanning the battlefield in concern. The dust and smoke cleared, revealing the aftermath of the devastating attack. As she looked towards the center of the arena, she saw Izuku lying unconscious, his body battered and bruised from the impact.

Midnight approached the young fallen hero. She quickly assessed his condition, confirming that he was knocked out and needed immediate medical attention. She called out to the medical team, who rushed to Izuku's side to provide aid and carry him to the medical area.

With the match now effectively over, Midnight turned her attention to Shoto Todoroki with a smile and raised her whip in his direction. Despite the fierce battle, Shoto stood tall, his face a mix of exhaustion and pride. Half of his gym jacket had been completely burned off, revealing his toned young body full of scars. The base of a severed tail poked out behind his lower back.

"Izuku Midoriya is knocked out!" Midnight announced. "Todoroki wins, and advances to the Grand Finale!"

Shoto bowed respectfully and turned to leave when something cold and soft landed on his head. He paused and glanced up to see something that truly amazed him.

Snow had begun to fall.

"HEY! What gives?!" Mister Satan whined. "First we get a typhoons and earthquakes and now snowfall? Just what the heck is goin' on here?!"

As the attendees marveled at the snowfall, a gentle smile spread across Shoto's face. However, there was something different about this snowfall – it seemed more magical and ethereal, unlike the ice from his powers.

The snowflakes fell gracefully, creating a mesmerizing dance in the air. The sky above them was painted with a wintery charm, even though they were in the midst of May. The entire arena was transformed into a winter wonderland, and the students couldn't believe their eyes.

As they looked around, they noticed that the snow was not just limited to the arena. The white flurry had spread beyond, covering the entire school grounds in its delicate embrace. Even the distant mountains were capped with fresh layers of snow.

"It's... it's really snowing!" Tsuyu exclaimed, her frog-like eyes wide with wonder.

"I can't believe this," Mina said in awe, catching snowflakes on her tongue. "This is like something out of a fairy tale!"

Kirishima nodded in agreement.

"It's like he's controlling the elements themselves."

"Y-Yeah, but it's totally freezing now!" Sato whined, rubbing his arms.

Shoto's classmates gathered around themselves for warmth, their faces beaming with delight. They couldn't help but feel a sense of enchantment in the midst of this unexpected winter spectacle.

"Shoto, this is incredible! How did you do this?" Ojiro asked, his curiosity piqued.

Shoto's eyes sparkled with a mixture of happiness and uncertainty.

"I don't know," he admitted. "I think this might be a result of my new transformation. It's like my powers have connected with something beyond just ice and fire."

"It's like magic!" Toru chimed in, looking at the snow in awe.

Shoto nodded, embracing the magical atmosphere. He felt a connection with the falling snowflakes, as if they were a reflection of his growth and the unity of his powers. It was a moment of harmony, where the elements of ice and fire had blended together in perfect harmony.

Shoto, his Firefrost transformation still faintly visible, gave off a calming sigh and the transformation subsided. Shoto's glowing hair fell back down and the glow from his eyes dissipated.

In the distance, Aizawa, Midnight, and Cementoss watched the scene unfold. They had seen many impressive displays of quirks during their time as teachers at U.A. High School, but the sight of snow falling in May was undoubtedly a first.

"It seems Todoroki has unlocked a new aspect of his quirk," Aizawa said calmly, his gaze focused on Shoto.

"It's breathtaking," Cementoss added. "I knew he had potential, but this is beyond anything we could have expected."

"He's come a long way," Midnight noted, a sense of pride evident in her voice. "His growth as a hero has been remarkable."

Back in the arena, the snowfall continued, creating an enchanting atmosphere. The students watched with a mixture of excitement and respect, knowing that this was a momentous occasion for their classmate.

Todoroki had always been a formidable opponent, but now, with this new transformation, he had become even more powerful. The implications of his growth were not lost on anyone present.

As the snowflakes continued to drift down, Shoto looked up to the heavens, closed his eyes and took a deep breath, feeling a sense of tranquility and pride in his newfound abilities. He felt grateful for the support and encouragement he had received from his friends, mentors, and even his rivals.

"Forgive me for hating you all this time, Goku… Now I understand why you never came back for me. Are these snowflakes the feathers of your angel wings, guiding me on my journey?" Shoto felt a tear trickle down his cheek and he smiled – the first genuine, happy smile that he had smiled in years.

"I'm sorry that I forgot your lesson, about embracing who I am," Shoto continued softly, his voice carrying the weight of his emotions. "But from now on, I won't run away from myself or my powers. I'll embrace them fully, just like you did. And please… please watch over Mom for me, until the day I see you both again," Shoto whispered, his words carried by the gentle breeze.

Ending Song:
Child Error by My First Story

In the locker rooms, Shoto was lost in his thoughts, replaying the intense battle with Midoriya in his mind. The weight of his emotions was still heavy on his shoulders, and he couldn't help but feel a mix of relief and regret after emerging victorious.

As he leaned over a sink, looking at his reflection in the mirror, his attention was drawn by a familiar voice. "Todoroki?"

Surprised, he turned around and saw Yaoyorozu standing there, a concerned look in her eyes. She had left the tournament after her defeat at Bakugo's hands, and Shoto couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy for her. However, the sight of her made him feel a stirring of emotions he couldn't quite place.

"Yaoyorozu. You're... here?" Shoto asked, surprised by her sudden appearance.

Momo nodded, her expression softening. "I was on my way home, but then I saw your anguished face from the television in my car," she said, her voice gentle. "I couldn't just leave without offering my support."

Shoto's heart warmed at her care and consideration. He hadn't expected anyone to come looking for him, let alone Momo. Yet here she was, showing genuine concern for him.

"Wait a minute, Yaoyorozu. Are you serious?"
"Yes!" Momo said earnestly, stepping towards him. "I care about you, Todoroki-"
"Your car has a television?" Shoto gasped, genuinely amazed.

Momo froze then chuckled patiently, her laughter lifting the mood slightly.
"Yes, it does. My family enjoys keeping up with the news and hero-related events," she replied, a faint smile tugging at her lips. "But that's not important right now. I'm more concerned about you."

Shoto felt touched by her genuine concern, and a small smile tugged at the corners of his lips.
"Thank you, Yaoyorozu," he said. "I'm fine, and I really mean it this time. I feel... liberated. Now I know what kind of hero I want to become."

Momo nodded, her eyes still fixed on him with a comforting gaze.
"I know it hasn't been easy for you, Todoroki," she said. "But remember, we're all here for you. You don't have to go through it alone."

Her words struck a chord in Shoto's heart, and he felt a sense of warmth and comfort in her presence. He had always admired Yaoyorozu's strength and intelligence, but now he saw a different side of her – a caring and supportive friend.

"Can we talk?" Momo asked softly, breaking the momentary silence. "I feel like we haven't had a heart to heart since the night before I left to Monaco..."
"Heart to heart?" Shoto asked. A red blush formed over his nose and he looked down, his hair falling over his eyes. "Are you... asking me to hug you, Yaoyorozu?"
"H-Huh?" Momo gasped, blushing. "No, I mean... let's talk. Like we used to back then. I... miss that. I miss us..."

Shoto nodded, feeling a sense of relief to have someone to confide in.
"I missed your friendship too, Yaoyorozu. Yes, let's talk," he said, and they left the locker room together, walking side by side.

A/N: I really wanted to give Shoto his own unique spin on a Super Saiyan. I loved the idea that while Gohan's Ssj Transformation makes it storm and earthquake, Shoto's can make it snow/hail/etc. I loved this episode of the canon.

I know right now there's not a whole lot regarding what happened to Vegeta, but it will be explored in the Endeavor arc right after the Sports Fest.

I hope you liked it, and if you have the energy to read the second part, I'll post it right after this one!

Onto Review Responses!

zikpef104023 chapter 46 . Jul 5

Love the chapter! So I've seen the parallels of both cell and Majin buu but I can't seem to find who is Frieza in this story? Freiza would be excellent as a nemesis to Gohan and I love how toxic and evil he is. Has he been revealed as AfO or has not been announced yet?

Thanks!

Thank you soooo much! And actually, you're soooo so close! But AFO is not Frieza hehe But don't worry, we will see our favorite trash-talking androgenous monkey hater eventually, and yeah he's going to have a huge impact in the story!

KaijuEmperor chapter 46 . Jul 5

Damn Shoto you've done Momo dirty with that cold bullshit, be prepared to have the same treatment returned to you in kind once either Gohan or Izuku beat your ass and know her pain, your mission was to be nothing like your father but you failed in day 1.

Oh Bakugou you suicidal dumbass if you're planning what I think your planning then after you're fight with Ochako you just signed your death warrant(the death to your pride that is).

Yea Ochako won and Itsuka is out of her tsundare phase now they're friends.

Yeah, unfortunately he's following in his father's footsteps, whether he wants to admit it or not. That's something he was doing in canon, too. He was turning into Endeavor until Izuku saved him. And ohhhh yeah wait till you find out what happens to Bakugo in the next chapter! ;D

Thank you so much for your review, Kai!

X3runner chapter 46 . Jul 5

Kinda bummed Itsuka just gave up outright and didn't say anything like " if you ever hurt him you won't even realize when I step in and swap him off his feet." She's (your version ) super competitive kinda wished that carried through a bit more. Also bakugo is about to make vegita a very proud because he's unleashing a savage his race's panicle which will indirectly bring glory to the prince

Yeah, I hear ya! But do not worry my friend, there's still a lot of story left between those three, and let's just say some rivalries don't end so easily. We haven't seen the last of Kendo's feelings yet!

JensenDaniels32 chapter 6 . Jul 7

Oh God, please don't tell me that you turned ki/life force into a quirk...

Yes, that was done to make Gohan fit into the My Hero Academia Universe, where aliens don't exist (yet). This is a major AU set in the world of MHA, as stated in the description.

JustinCase chapter 46 . Jul 7

Soooo Itsuka and Gohan are still going on that date to the carnival with Valese right? Riiiight? You promised us some itsuka x Gohan moments eclipse. Don't push out now!

I knew Kendo was destined to lose and it was so nice to see her reconcile with Ochako and watch the two girls bond over Valese (fuckin cutie patootie indeed!) and become friends. Great lesson learned for Kendo at the end there with her dad the champ, but I feel like you ended the rivalry prematurely. One fight was enough to get the persistent and competitive Itsuka to back down? I just don't buy it.

Other than that though it was an exciting chapter. Loved the fights and the new moves too. Videl calling her dad her angel was sweet AF and gives her a little more character I feel. And her transformation was unexpected but unique.

Poor Momo. Rejected outright while Gohan and Ochako are finally officially a couple now! Sort of.. okay im ready for the next fights and I'm terrified of what will happen to Ochako next

Oh yeah! Of course! You haven't seen the last of the love triangle yet- not even the best parts, yet!

Larry chapter 1 . Jul 9

Fanfiction allows you to take the good things about something and try to make it better, why would you doble down on the bad things. The whole quirkless thing being a stigma only makes sense with kids. What would adults value more having a degree in x or being able to change the color of your hair or breath fire? Hint being able to breath fire is actually the least useful.

Yes, so two very brief things.

1) This is a superhuman society where there are literal old people still being heroes and not chasing some degree or whatever. It's fiction… our rules don't have to apply to them. If it did, all movies would be boring AF

2) Gohan is 15 at the start of this fic… counts as a kid to me. And adults carry on their stigmatized views from childhood. People in real life are marginalized simply because they're different, and that's in real life.

Thanks for your review.

Brandon Dupere chapter 46 . Jul 9

ArguableReader chapter 47 . Jul 18

In the official capacity, so to speak, Bakugou has the mind of villain, but the heart of hero,
so in the fandom variation, does he still have the heart of hero, or is it full on villain,
Only the writer of the story knows for sure.

I'd say here, he has the overcompetetive heart of a bully. But don't worry, deep down in his own way, he still has the heart of a hero!

KaijuEmperor chapter 47 . Jul 18

(Growling) Bakugou,,,you are one dead bastard once you fight Gohan, you talk about consequences well guess what yours was a long time coming and Gohan is the judge, jury and executioner and I'm going to enjoy it very very much!

Oh yeah, as my cousin used to say, Gohan is gonna feed the pork tonight….. idk, it just sounds epic LMAO Bakugo boutta get manhandled, Super Saiyan style!

X3runner chapter 47 . Jul 18

Hoping bakugo gets a taste of what buu abd cell got in cannon a whopping so bad it brakes him

Ohhhh yess, he will in the next chapter! Bakugo will never live this down, as it's the start of his redemption arc!

JustinCase chapter 47 . Jul 18

It's time, Gohan. It's time for you to BEAT BAKUGO'S FUCKING ASS! The look on his face will be something I savor every single minute of it! If Gohan drops his restraint for even a second, it's going to be a blood bath.

Great callback to the canon when Spopovich curve-stomped Videl.

And tmi but I bet Deku creamed his pants, holding a bombshell like Melissa down for the countdown. I know I would have! XD

Great chapter! Now give us Bakugo's head on a platter. Stat!

LMAO ahhh gross XD but probably correct! And yeah, Bakugo finna dieeeeee as he always likes to say! XD

Brandon Dupere chapter 47 . Jul 19

BAKUGOOOOOOOOO !

TheListen77 chapter 47 . Jul 20

While this is only Gohan becoming a Super Saiyan in this chapter... allow me to quote a very key narration from the OG DBZ series (Ahem):

"It is a secret we have known before Gohan could even form words in his mouth, through fights with Raditz, the Ginyu Force, Garlic Jr, and even Frieza, we have caught glimpses of the child's explosive power. But like an explosion it always vanished with the moment, it couldn't be controlled, until now. At last the beastly power has been harnessed, Gohan has awoken."

Now Bakugo will battle a warrior 11 years in the making, on the next Path of the Dragon, The Story of Gohan!

Dude, This story has been utterly INSANE! My heart is still pounding in my chest! I can't wait to see the fruition of it all!

Ahhh yeahhh! That brings back awesome memories from the Cell Saga, which we're approaching towards the end of this Season. Thank you so much for your kind review! And I'm so happy that you enjoyed it!

Kacchans doctor chapter 47 . Jul 21

Hey, you know that monkey tailed indestructible fighter who took out an entire league of villains almost by himself, transformed into a world destroying great ape monster, can summon a literal fire dragon out of his fist and just caused a mini hurricane/earthquake just by powering up? You know, the one that comes from an ancient race of cold blooded conquerors?

Yeah let's mercilessly beat up his girlfriend and taunt him along the way. What's the worst that can happen?

—Kacchan

Hi, as Katsuki Bakugo's physician, maybe you can prescribe him some pain meds… and some antidepressants because he is not gonna be able to live down the pounding (pauuuuse) that he is about to receive!XD

Thanks for your review, Doc!

Guest chapter 47 . 3h ago

Sometimes I really don't understand why many authors make Bakugo a very evil guy which has a plot armour i.e. every teacher ignore his threat and how he casually give his classmates a death threat many times and yet nobody give him warning or plain just expel him.
The creator of MHA is also regretting that how he made bakugo character and don't know how to rectify his mistake because this character can't compare to Vegeta, sasuke, grey, kilou,Uriya, hei etc.
Every anime has grey character but not this level of maniac(bakugo) even Joker feel sane compare to him.
I think Author don't know how to portray power fluctuations especially the character like DBZ level. The guy who can literally change the entire environment because of his little power fluctuation and yet no one afraid of him and even bakugo gave a craze smile the very same who can't even kill one person in his life where psycho killer just literally shit themselves when they see just a huge power gap.
Humans always afraid of force of nature because its in our instinct but Gohan power surpassed the force of nature and yet no one afraid of him.
In Naruto when Zabuza release his killing intent all the person aside kakashi kneel towards ground and even sasuke want to stab himself just to gain his sanity. This is a perfect portrayal of terrifying a person can become if they are killer which paralyzed the sasuke who is a far ahead of any class 1 person in terms of intelligence and skill and we don't even talk about Itachi the person who scare the orichimaru just at the age of fucking 13.
Please u have to respectfully create a gap between mha and dbz characters, i recommend u buy to read crossover story of mob pyshco and MHA story where mob transfer into the world of mha and in that bakugo is also crazy but no to this extent and he is afraid of mob when he unleashes his 100 percent power and slowly he admitted that he can't be compare to mob because he built different and even than mob is nothing compare to Gohan when he fight frieza, cell or bojack.
Gohan is literally a god he has the most terrifying potential that ever world has seen aside broly.
Vegeta and Endeavour are far different from each other, i think it's a disrespect for vegeta to even compare to endeavour like character because vegeta always want to surpass goku but at his own capabilities not on his children. Yes he is arrogant but he always love his family especially bulma. Vegeta kills trillions of being and hundreds of planets during his dark phase, he is a prince of a nobody clan and yet he take immense pride of his lineage but he is not a bully who bully his children and assault his own wife just to satisfy his own strength. If vegeta ever meet endeavour he pulverized him and teach him how to be a good family man.
I think u should improve your writing skill.

Hi Guest thank you for two things. First, and most importantly, thank you for taking the time for the lengthy review… second – thank you for giving me Forest Whitaker eye. Oh boy, there's so much to unpack here. I'm going to try and make this as brief as possible.

It is apparent to me that you haven't read the story at all, and just skipped to the last chapter.
Bakugo is a bully at the beginning of his character arc, even in canon, due to his superiority complex, which ironically is a mask for his inferiority complex.

Your comparison of Bakugo to the Joker is so utterly absurd – Bakugo bullies his classmates, and even when he manhandled Uraraka, it was in the context of a combat tournament and he didn't even go all out. You just compared that to a maniac who cut open a pregnant Lois Lane and planted in her body the trigger to a nuke that blew up Metropolis, then used fear toxin to get Superman to kill her, thinking it was Doomsday.

Like I said – absurd.

Ok, moving on – yes, normal people are afraid of power surges. You know what else normal people are afraid of? Giant villains stomping around town like Godzilla, yet there go the people that live in the world of My Hero Academia, lining up in front of literal villains just to get to see their heroes in action.

This is a world where superpowers aren't just the norm – they're revered. Don't believe me? Go watch the second episode where All Might's Smash changes the weather and look at everyone's reaction. Even in the world of DBZ, nobody took off running when Gohan transformed into SS2 TWICE in the World Martial Arts Tournament. It just doesn't happen. People are used to these kinds of things happening in this world.

Sorry, I've watched perhaps three episodes of Naruto and none of mob psycho so I don't know what to tell you there.

And finally, Vegeta/Endeavor. Sighhh.

The problem is, again, you haven't read the story, so you assumed this is the same Vegeta from DBS, who has already gone through the fiery tribulations that forge his character into the family man he is now, one that loves his family, even in his own way.

This Vegeta hasn't gone through any of that yet. This is barely the beginning of his character arc in this major Alternate Universe fic; he is still the same arrogant, evil Saiyan from the canon Saiyan Saga. He is going to go through changes in his own arc, just like Endeavor did.

I've said this a thousand times throughout the story, but when readers can't be bothered to read it in the first place and try to jump to the end, obviously they will be confused.

Oh, at last! Some common ground; Yeah, I agree! my writing is ass. I've always said this. I'm not a professional story teller - just some dumbass bloke with a plot in his head that wants to share it with everyone else. That's all LMAO

In the future, I suggest you read through the story first.

If I started watching Star Wars for the first time, but skipped all four episodes just to get to Empire, the Father Scene would confuse the hell outta me.

Point? Read the story first.

Thank you for your review, Guest.

That's it for review responses! Oy vey… my head hurts. I'm gonna go lay down now XD

Don't miss the next fight between the fated rivals – NEXT TIME! ON PATH OF THE DRAGON!
