Chase froze at the voice that called out to him, after some time he finally regained composure and turned around, giving the Great Dane a stern look.
"What? You're not happy to see me?" The Great Dane asked as he got closer to Chase, he remembered the thick country like accent the dog had. "I thought you hated cats?"
"You know...pups change." Chase said trying to stay calm.
"Is that so? I guess you changed ever since you and Isaac decided to run away, huh?" The Great Dane asked.
The dog noticed Chase's claws beginning to unsheathe.
"Oh? Did you finally grow a spine ever since then?" The dog placed his paw on Chase.
Chase retaliated by shoving the dog away from him.
"Fuck you Ajax!" Chase yelled out, not noticing his pup tag was still on.
"Hey, cool it before I do something I might regret." Ajax warned.
Chase calmed down and sheathed his claws.
"What do you want?"
"That's better...but you know what I want." Ajax stated as he walked around Chase.
"Yeah, the problem is, is that I dropped it when you were busy trying to kill us!" Chase defended.
"Oh come on Chase, you and Isaac were never good liars." Ajax said as he got closer to the kitten, who was too scared to move. "It would be a shame if this little kitten got hurt because of a lie..."
Chase was nervous, he didn't know what to do but he had to think of something fast.
~~~~~~~~~~
"I guess you changed ever since that night with Isaac huh?"
Skye and Zuma looked at each other with worried expressions.
They had no clue who they were hearing but they had a bad feeling about it.
"Get these kittens back to Katie's, I'll go find Chase." Skye stated as Zuma nodded in agreement.
Skye flew off to City Hall to find Chase, she spotted Chase's rig and landed near it, hopping out of her helicopter and asking bystanders if they saw Chase somewhere.
She got a lead and followed the mess that Chase caused while he was chasing the kitten.
After some trailing, she heard the commotion between Ajax and Chase.
"It would be a shame if this little kitten got hurt because of a lie..."
"Leave the kitten out of this Ajax!"
"Not until you tell me the truth!"
Skye hopped out of the wall she was leaned against to back Chase up.
"Chase!" The aviator pup yelled out.
"Oh look, it's the little flying pup, welcome!" Ajax greeted as he started to press down on the kitten.
"Skye? What're you doing here?! Leave! I can handle this!" Chase snapped.
"You heard your lover, get out of here!"
"We're not going anywhere!" Ryder and Zuma came to back up the pups, outnumbering Ajax four to one.
Ajax knew he was outnumbered and released the pressure on the kitten, who ran to Chase for comfort.
"Looks like your friends came to help." Ajax walked past the group. "We'll talk again Chase, under different circumstances." Ajax soon left the team.
Chase was about to go after him but was stopped by Ryder.
"Chase? Who was that?" Ryder asked.
"How did you pups even know I was in trouble?" Chase asked, dodging the question.
"Your pup tag was on and we heard everything." Skye stated.
Chase sighed, he almost let a kitten get killed because he couldn't spill the truth about the pendant, he didn't want to bring the past up but what choice does he really have now?
"Chase...we have to know what's going on." Ryder comforted the pup.
The police pup brushed the comfort he received away and walked away from the pups.
"Chase..." Ryder called out.
The police pup ignored them and walked back to his rig, heading back to the Lookout and leaving the trio by themselves.
Skye sighed as they were left alone.
"What are we going to do, Ryder?" Skye asked.
"I don't know, he's always been like this with personal things, but I can't make an exception this time." Ryder noticed that the sun was setting. "Come on, let's get this kitten back to Katie and head back to the Lookout." Ryder advised.
~~~~~~~~~~
"Ruff, house!" Chase barked as his rig transformed back into his pup house.
"Hey, Chase...where's the rest of the——?" Marshall was cut off by the sudden shut of the pup house door. "Or just ignore my question." Marshall sighed.
As the Dalmatian walked away, he spotted Skye, Zuma and Ryder arriving back from their mission.
"Hey, what's up with Chase? He seemed a little nervous." Marshall asked the trio.
"Something happened, he had a run-in with someone he knew, look I'll tell him to explain everything in the morning, it's getting late." Ryder briefly explained.
The pups parted and soon went to sleep.

Chase looked at the pendant, he was being overwhelmed at this point, nothing was going his way and it made the pup a paranoid mess.
"What do I do? What do I do?!" Chase asked himself. He soon calmed down and grabbed the pendant, remembering his life before he met Ryder and the rest. "I wish you here still here Isaac, you always knew what to do in situations like this." Chase said to himself.
The pup placed the pendant back down and closed his eyes.
~~~~~~~~~~
Chase found himself in a semi crowded area, everyone around him was a part of the same crew, as the small German Shepherd tried moving past, he bumped into a rather large pit bull.
"What the hell is your problem you dumb mutt? You blind or something?"
"Hey! Hey! Woah! Easy there! He's just a pup, leave him alone." Isaac defended.
"That stupid mutt needs to watch where he's going!" The pit bull stared down at him.
"Listen, he's new here, give him some slack, Angus." Isaac quickly defused the situation.
"Yeah, whatever. You're lucky kid! Lucky that Isaac here is watching your back! Next time you won't be so lucky." Angus threatened as he walked away.
"Don't worry about him, kid, he's just a punk. He thinks everyone is scared of him but really, everyone just feels bad for him, poor guy was too aggressive to be a house pet so he had a choice, be put down or join us."
Chase didn't talk much but listened to almost everything Isaac said, he wasn't comfortable to talk to anyone besides Isaac yet.
As the two got a quick drink from their bowls, a mongrel bursted in the room, scaring Chase and causing him to fall over.
"Isaac! Amigo! You gotta help me, por favor!"
Isaac sighed at the sudden appearance of his friend.
"What is it this time Diaz?" Isaac asked as he helped Chase get back up.
"Uh, should I say it in front of this pup?" Diaz asked.
"Relax, he's with me, you can trust him." Isaac vouched.
"Okay, well you know that bonito collar I got for Amber? Some fucking...sorry...some very rude cats stole it." Diaz explained.
"Sorry to say but that's not my problem, Diaz." Isaac proclaimed.
"Oh come on! Amber is going to kill me if she finds out! Throw me a bone!" Diaz gave Isaac the puppy eyes.
Isaac sighed and ignored him, until Chase finally spoke up.
"We should help him." Chase sided.
"What?" Isaac questioned.
"See! Even your friend here wants to help me!" Diaz said.
Isaac took some time but finally accepted it.
"Fine, you're coming with us by the way." Isaac motioned for Diaz to lead as he stopped Chase. "Whatever happens, stick by me alright? I don't want you getting hurt." Isaac advised.
"I...I won't, I promise." Chase assured.
"Hey! Vamanos! Those pesky cats are probably tearing it apart!" Diaz called out.
As Chase followed behind Isaac, everything started to slow down.
He noticed that everyone was looking at him with the same stare.
"Isaac?" Chase called out.
As Isaac turned around, Chase noticed something in his head.
A bullet hole.
"What the?" Chase fell back as he noticed Diaz's lifeless body behind Isaac.
The pup screamed out in terror, ending the nightmare.
~~~~~~~~~~
Chase woke up, hitting his head like usual on the ceiling of his pup house. The pup was hot and decided to go outside for some air and to get his mind off of his nightmare.
Chase sighed as he looked around the trees and noticed the figure of a dog in the distance, gesturing him to come to him.
Chase immediately knew it was Ajax and went to confront him.
As he walked to him, he heard him say something.
"So this is where the Paw Patrol lie their heads." Ajax said as he admired the view.
"Why are you here?" Chase asked sternly.
"I said we'd meet under different circumstances and right now, this is a different circumstance." Ajax replied.
"Yeah, whatever..." Chase sighed as he looked at the Lookout and the pup houses.
"Where's the pendant, Chase, don't lie to me again." Ajax threatened.
"I said I dropped it——!" Chase was pinned down quickly by Ajax.
"And I said, don't lie to me again!" Ajax said.
"Fine!" Chase said through heavy breaths.
Ajax got off of Chase and helped him up, in which Chase declined.
"I have it, is that better?" Chase asked sarcastically.
"Well where is it? I don't see it? Go fucking get it!" Ajax yelled.
Chase didn't flinch at all, he just stared at him and then went to go get the pendant.
He hooked it onto his collar so Ajax wouldn't be able to snatch it.
"There it is, the whole reason you're a police pup." Ajax smiled.
"Go to hell Ajax." Chase said.
"So you gonna hand it over or am I gonna have to take it from your dead body?" Ajax asked.
"How will I know that you aren't just gonna run away with it?" Chase asked.
"Come on, I've been working with him for a while now, why would I change now?" Ajax replied.
Chase stood there, not giving Ajax the pendant.
"Okay, fine. You don't wanna hand it over? Take it to him yourself then, see how he'll react when he sees you." Ajax stated. "You got a couple days to decide Chase, if not, then I'm gonna have to hurt these pups to get it from you." Ajax walked away from Chase.
"See you around, officer."
