I promised and have delivered. Some shocking news is revealed and are one step closer to the end of this story, which is just around the corner. The first part of the chapter is from Toothless's point of you as I felt I hadn't given our favourite Night Fury enough attention in the last few chapters. This is also my first fight sequence so do leave your thoughts in the comments.

BOOM!

A brilliant explosion of crimson engulfed the entire battleground with its light, triggered by the thunderous discharge of cannons on the cliffside. Amidst the battle, the sound of men's cries and the roars of dragons reverberated. Before the chaos was once again swiftly silenced by the deafening echoes of cannon and catapult fire.

Smoke filled the entire sky above, the pure and clear skies that covered the island in the morning were now nothing but a canvas of ash and smoke.

The scene unfolding beneath could only be described with one word, chaos. Billowing trails of smoke marked the aftermath of cannon fire, as sailors on the decks of their ships frantically scrambled to protect their respective sides. From above, arrows descended like a rain of fire, while dragons, with fiery breath, incinerated any traps and weapons in their line of sight.

The chaos that engulfed the battlefield, the oceans near Dragon's Edge, was a stark contrast to the unusual silence that engulfed the island…

The villagers had been quickly evacuated to the safety of the castle while the Royal Guards took their positions along the castle walls and the castle outposts. The villagers remained silent, afraid to utter a word during the brutal battle.

The Berkians however had been arrested and taken to the dungeons as soon as the battle had started. The confused Berkians had no choice but to follow orders given to them at sword-point…

Hiccup soared above the docks, witnessing the extensive destruction inflicted upon them. The stone pathways lay shattered, reduced to rubble, while flames steadily consumed the remnants of what was once a dock, a gateway to their haven. Anger quickly consumed Hiccup…

"Come on bud, let's show them what we got!" Hiccup shouted out.

I quickly let out a growl of approval, tucking my wings close to my body, and speeding towards an enemy ship. As I cut through the wind creating the infamous telltale sound, I could see the Trappers quickly jumping towards cover, while screaming at their friends to do the same.

Inhaling deeply, I drew in air and mixed it with the gas in my throat, heating it naturally. I waited for the perfect moment to unleash my 'plasma blast.' Just then I noticed a group of my fellow dragons being cornered within an expansive dragon-proof cage. Aiming, I expelled the fiery force from my throat. In an instant, the Trappers were sent scattering in all directions, while the liberated dragons soared into the open sky.

"Yeah! Great job bud! Let's help out a few more of our friends shall we?" Hiccup asked.

Releasing a growl of approval, I turned to witness the effort of my fellow dragon riders, engaged in fierce combat, dismantling the Dragon Trapper's ship. The sky ignited with the brilliance of fire and explosions, casting an eerie glow as debris and driftwood scattered across the ocean's surface. A potent smell of smoke, burning flesh, and gunpowder filled the air, filling my nostrils with a pungent aroma.

Slowly we could see a shift in the tide, we were winning…

Viggo's fleet, skillfully held the enemy at bay, providing us with precious time to rally our forces. The fleet had formed a defensive border around the docks while the soldiers provided cover for the ships and the riders attacked the incoming forces.

The Draconian guards atop the castle walls had quickly loaded the bolas, catapults, arrow launchers and cannons to defend the island, letting a rain of arrows and cannon fire onto the Dragon Trappers.

The docks, once under siege, were now recaptured by our soldiers, and that win had been a moral booster for the rest of us. Half of the thirty ships invading us had been taken down, now lying in the depths of the ice-cold ocean. The sailors had either been captured or killed.

As we released another group of dragons from their cages, we could see two of Viggo's ships slowly moving on either side of an enemy dreadnought. When the three ships were perfectly aligned with each other, Viggo's ships mercilessly fired from both sides at the lone ship, not letting even an inch of enemy wood to stay afloat.

"GET DOWN!" A trapper screamed before being blown into the frigid ocean along with a few of his friends by Stormfly.

Swiftly approaching, she flew alongside me. "We helped seventeen," she boasted. I rolled my eyes at her competitiveness.

Everything always turned into a competition with my mate, it seemed to be the reason behind her close bond with her rider. Both of them embraced the same competitive spirit, a quality my rider and I admired.

"Hello! My Milady, how are you on this fine day?" Hiccup asked his wife, with a humourous smile.

"Oh you know, the usual, disappointed, they have attacked us thrice and they still haven't brought a fleet strong enough to give us a real fight, it's like they aren't even trying," Astrid retorted.

Hiccup chuckled at his wife's remark he knew she was lying about it being too easy, this was going to be a long battle, yet he couldn't help but agree, the other battles with Grimmel before the arrival of the Berkians had been a challenge, now it was as easy as taming a Skrill. He slowly glided down to Viggo's Lead ship along with Astrid, while Camicazi, on her Changewing, joined them.

"Viggo, Alvin!" Hiccup called out to his close friends.

"Ah, my dear Hiccup it is good to see you I assume the capture of the Berkians was a success," Viggo asked.

"Yeah, it was a little too easy, to be honest." Hiccup responded.

"Aye, that's because that was a wee distraction for the real attack, these bunch of ruffians and their stinkin' fleet," Alvin shouted, while his Boneknapper roared in approval, both visibly furious.

"Yeah, this must be what Gustav overheard Spitelout talking about," Astrid told them. Hiccup shared a look with his wife, they were missing something, they had overlooked a vital piece of Spitelout's plan, something important…

Camicazi becoming impatient, shouted, "All this discussion is useless, I say we go kick some Dragon Trapper ass and then chop the heads of those traitors in the dungeons." Dagur quickly agreed to Camicazi's proposed plan.

Hiccup sighed both Dagur and Camicazi were very spontaneous and impulsive, they loved to fight and were very loyal. Thus arguing with them to do otherwise would be illogical, and trying to find the missing piece in the puzzle would be impossible, they had to win the battle and interrogate the information from Spitelout himself.

"Ok, right, we will deal with the Berkians after this, let's end this battle first. Viggo, Alvin continue the naval barrage while Dagur can come with us for extra air support." Dagur cheered while quickly mounting Sleuther, Viggo and Alvin began shouting orders to the sailors.

The battle continued for about two hours after the first rays of the sun had lit the ocean. The bodies of sailors from both sides lay still on burning pieces of driftwood. Soldiers and Trappers, dead, covered the docks with blood and gore…

Both factions had suffered significant casualties, with the Draconians enduring relatively few losses compared to the Trappers, who had taken a substantial death toll. The advanced ships of the Draconians, strategic battle plans devised by Hiccup, and the presence of dragons were huge contributing factors towards their win.

The Trappers now confined to their last six ships were slowly retreating. Camicazi now alongside Valka on Cloudjummper, set the last Trapped dragon free. The battle ended as fast as it had begun. The Draconians quickly spread the news of victory.

Hiccup stroked his beautiful wife's blonde hair softly.

"How are you?" He asked her. She curled up close to him, showing a vulnerability she could only express with him. "Nauseous." She responded softly into his chest.

For the past few days, Astrid had been acting weird. He had noticed this and was extremely confused, it all started with her ignoring him and then volunteering in tasks and missions which would keep her away from him for most of the day while she would return at night tired and would silently fast asleep.

It scared Hiccup to see her like this but was glad once she started to open up to him a little again during the few days before the attack, he still knew something was troubling her. When he confronted her she blamed it on stress, but he knew her better than anyone else and immediately understood that she was lying but had decided to ask her about it after Spitelout's attack.

Hiccup dragged the heavy fur blanket gently over their legs, as they cuddled on the bed beside an asleep Zephyr.

"Do you want some water? It will help with the nausea." Hiccup asked her. She looked at him gratefully. "Yes, please." He slid off the bed closed the curtain blocking the sunlight from entering the bedroom and walked towards their private kitchen to retrieve a glass of water.

He entered the room once again and set the cup on the bed in front of his wife. He raised the cup to her and watched as she slowly tried to down the water.

"Thanks," She said while smiling warmly at him before once again lying on his chest.

Astrid hoped Hiccup couldn't see how much she was trembling. Inside, she was a mess, internally battling wanting to desperately blurt out her secret and to keep it with her. This was a big deal, Hiccup needed to know, contrasting thoughts battled in her mind until she decided to surrender to one. She lifted her head and stared straight at Hiccup. She moved her hands to his, tangling them together.

"Hiccup," She began. "I have to tell you something." He straightened up to meet her beautiful ocean-blue eyes. She looked down to where their hands were intertwined, and breathed out slowly, "I'm pregnant."

Silence filled the room for a long, dreadful moment. She was sure the pounding in her chest could be heard by the gods. She looked up, seeing the shock on Hiccup's face.

"You're... pregnant." That was all he said. She nodded, her hands were sweating and the feeling of doubt began to loom over her once again. Then as suddenly as the silence had filled the room he jerked the blankets off and pulled Astrid up out of the bed, she yelped as Hiccup lifted her and twirled her, her hands on his shoulders. As he stopped and looked into her eyes she realised that he was truly happy and not mad, this made her calm down as all the worry washed away.

She almost collapsed against him in relief, letting out an exhale. Then Hiccup kissed her, he pulled back and stroked her cheek.

"We're gonna be parents AGAIN."

"I'm gonna be a dad AGAIN." She smiled and looked into those eager, sparkling green eyes.

Hiccup then looked at her as something clicked in his mind and asked her, "So, you're not sick? How could I have been so stupid?"

She nodded. "I hid it at first because I didn't want you to be worried, but Heather and Camicazi convinced me to tell you."

Astrid was pregnant. She was carrying his second child. In a few months, they would have another baby. Zephyr would be an elder sister. He gently pecked him on the lips. "I love you."

"I love you too, Hiccup." Hiccup then kissed her with enough passion to push her gently into the pillows beside an asleep soon-to-be older sister…

As sleep washed over Astrid, Hiccup walked along the dark corridors of the dungeons. The cold and damp air clung to his body. Toothless a few feet behind him snarled at the prisoners, few were asleep while others were still awake, unable to sleep after the battle that had ended a few hours ago.

He spared a glance at the Berkians who rose to their feet upon seeing him. Without uttering a word he walked past their cells, paying no heed to their shouts, he arrived at Spitelout's cell. The cell was different from the others, instead of having an open bar design this cell was covered on all sides with stone walls and had a single iron door.

Spiteout, his son along with Mildew, Hilda and Dogsbreath sat on the damp floor, chained and beaten to a pulp. Hiccup could see the bruises the guards had inflicted upon the traitors, some would leave bruises for days while the rest would heal in a few hours.

He ignored Snotlout's curses and walked to Spitelout's broken form, crouching in front of the Viking, Hiccup looked at his Uncle dead in the eyes, holding no emotion, he asked, "What deal did you make with Grimmel, Uncle?"
