(Disclaimer: I do not own Skyrim; just Xana and my other OC's.)
(Authors Note: Hello there dear readers, fellow writers and fellow Skyrim fans! First of all, I apologize for not updating this story sooner as I've been rather occupied with my Transformers FF and I've also recently uploaded A Monster In Paris FF, so those have been taking up some of my time. But don't worry, my inspiration for this story hasn't dried up yet :) Also, thank you all for the continued support. I greatly appreciate your views and kind comments, so thank you for that. Keep being awesome and enjoy!)
-Five Years Later-
Despite the struggles and hardships when it comes to raising a child, Xana and Odahviing welcomed the challenges and nurtured their daughter to the best of their abilities. Brii was now a sprightly little girl and well on her way to becoming a fierce Dovahkiin like her Monah. By that, she would practice her thu'um alongside her parents, and was often seen playing with little wooden daggers and practice bows.
Appearance wise, her crimson hair was now at full length with her back and was often braided to avoid obstructing her vision when she played outside. Her claws were rather sharp if left uncut, hence why they now had to be filed down once a week to avoid any accidental injuries. Seeing as how she was born with a tail, Brii's clothes had to be properly altered to accommodate it. Since Skyrim wasn't home to many Argonians, Xana often put her needlework skills to good use.
Growth wise, Brii was average height for a Dunmer child her age, but with her being half dragon, it was anyone's guess as to how tall she'd actually grow up to be. Despite having scales, she wasn't entirely covered in them; however, those that she had were primarily located along her back, neck, tail, shoulders, and the outer parts of her arms and legs. As for her teeth, they were fairly standard like most children's, but that would likely change once she started losing her milk teeth and growing her adult ones. Her horns (which were still growing) were now roughly five inches in length and would likely be just as splendid as her Bormah's. She even had a smaller secondary set of horns growing near her temples, but they would likely be shorter than her primary ones. Regardless, they were lovely and further added to her draconic appearance.
Truly, little Brii was a wonder to behold; however, her parents feared for her safety as her dragon features continued to develop. As much as Xana and Odahviing wanted their daughter to grow up confident and proud of her appearance and heritage, they knew most people in Tamriel would not accept her for what she is, and would either ridicule her or bring harm to her. With those thoughts in mind, Xana had crafted a special illusion pendant that would mask Brii's appearance when worn. To everyone else, she looked like a regular Dunmer child, but to her parents, she would always be their mal dovah.
At the moment, she was currently outside playing a game of tag with her cousin, Light-Amidst-Darkness. Like Brii, he too had grown healthy and strong over the last five years and was becoming more like his parents every day. His pinkish scales were quite dazzling and his (pointed) horns were rather distinguished. While he had been born weak and small, he was far from the tiny infant his family once knew. He currently stood four inches taller than Brii, and from his Mother's estimate, he would likely grow taller than his Fathers'. Both Sea and Shore welcomed the idea of their son growing up taller than them, but for now, they enjoyed his current height as it was difficult to see him grow up so fast when it still felt like yesterday that he came into the world.
Speaking of which, Renessie was expecting and had requested a trip to Blackwind was necessary to ensure a safe and successful birth. Like last time, it would also be a live birth as she had not been in frequent connection with the Hist tree to ensure that proper egg development would occur. At least this time she was aware of her condition and was actually showing. While the trip to Blackwind wasn't until tomorrow morning, she and her mates were currently busy packing for the long journey, while Xana was outside with the children.
"Monah, what time are we leaving for Papa and Granny's house tomorrow," the little hybrid asked as she and LAD stopped their game for a quick snack, which consisted of freshly sliced green apples and cut goat cheese.
With a smile, Xana set the small plate of food on the table while the children sat down to eat, "Early. We'll likely leave before sunrise and will hopefully make it halfway through Morrowind by dusk."
"Are we gonna set up camp in the woods," Light-Amidst-Darkness questioned while nibbling on an apple slice.
"Presumably so," she replied with a shrug. At the sound of approaching wingbeats, Xana glanced up to see her mate carrying a young stag in his talons, to which she headed down the porch stairs to greet him. "I see your hunt was successful."
"Geh, nii lost. The plains of Whiterun are teeming with fresh prey."
"Were there any obstacles in your way?"
"Nid, I had a clear path to strike from above." He then gently nuzzled her cheek, "You worry too much, dii brit fahliil."
"I could say the same about you, dii mul dovah."
He emitted a low, sensual growl as she placed a kiss upon his maw, to which both of them glanced over to see their daughter and nephew making their way down the stairs. "Did you catch that deer, Bormah?"
"Zu'u drey. Were you good for your Monah during my absence?"
"Uh-huh! LAD and I stayed close to the house and we finished packing our bags for the trip tomorrow."
"Kul mon," he lightly chuckled and nuzzled her cheek with the tip of his snout, making her giggle and happily swish her tail.
"Aunt Xana, can I help you gut the deer this time? I need more experience if I'm gonna be a proper hunter someday," LAD eagerly stated, to which the young Dunmer gave him a smile.
"Maybe when you're a bit older. But in the meantime, you can take some of the meat inside for your parents to start cooking."
"Okay, I can do that!"
With a nod, Xana then carefully skinned the deer and cut off large slabs of the inner loins before presenting them to her nephew, to which he and Brii headed inside to deliver them to his parents. Afterwards, she cleaned off her dagger and washed her hands in the basin, while Odahviing tore into the remainder of the deer, leaving nothing but the antlers.
"My, my, aren't we a ravenous dovah today," she fondly commented upon re-approaching her mate.
With blood coating his deadly fangs, Odahviing gave her a fond smirk, "I am always ravenous, dii brit fahliil."
"Oh? Is that so?"
"Geh," he sensually growled before licking her neck, causing her to shudder in pleasure. Of course, as much as they wanted to give into their primal desires, they had to refrain from doing so at this time. Not only was it early in the day, which meant anyone could walk outside and see them, but they had promised Brii that they'd take her up to see Paarthurnax before leaving for Blackwind tomorrow.
Speaking of their kiir: Brii stepped back outside wearing her knapsack across her back while dragging a wooden sword behind her as it was a bit too heavy for her to lift with one hand.
"Going somewhere, dii mal dovah," Odahviing asked in an amused tone, to which she looked up at him with a serious expression lining her adorable face:
"Geh. I need to go to the top of the mountain and say goodbye to Paarthurnax before we leave tomorrow."
"Hmm, and how do you plan to reach the summit to converse with him?"
"You're gonna take me there," she grinned, causing him to emit a deep chuckle:
"Los daar ful?"
"Uh-huh!" She then erupted into a fit of giggles as he suddenly began nuzzling her cheek. As this took place, Xana retrieved the saddle/harness from the outdoor chest and donned it on her mate before adorning some fur armor and dressing Brii in her winter apparel for their trip up to the Throat of the World.
Within minutes, the young hybrid was strapped into the saddle in front of her Monah, while her Bormah took off from the homestead and flew up the mountain where the older dovah was peacefully meditating on the ancient Word Wall. Upon landing, Xana climbed down and helped her daughter out of the harness before placing her upon the snowy surface.
"Drem yol lok, Paarthurnax," the little hybrid cheerfully stated as she approached the older dovah.
"Drem yol lok, mal Brii," he replied with a smile. "Have you come seeking my counsel?"
"Kinda. I wanted to tell you that we're going to visit my Granny, Papa, Uncles, Aunt, and cousins over in Blackwind for a few weeks. But don't worry: we'll be back before you know it."
"Hmm, then we shall resume your lessons when you return."
"Oh good! I like learning new things. Monah and Bormah have been teaching me how to read and write in Common and Dovah Zul. To me, writing in Dovah Zul is easier but reading it is still hard."
"Drem, Patience. You will come to understand it in due time."
"I know, but it's taking forever," she pouted, to which Xana gave her a smile and sat down beside her:
"You know, I'm still learning how to read and write in Dovah Zul. I can speak and understand it fine, but I still can't quite make out all the words, nor can I spell them correctly half the time."
"Really?"
"Mhmm," she nodded. "So, maybe when you master it, you can teach me."
"Me? Teach you?"
At her expression, Xana emitted a soft laugh, "Of course, dii mal dovah. I'm teaching you how to read and write in Common, so it's only fair that you show me how to read and write in Dovah Zul."
"You don't want to learn from Bormah?"
With a smile, she felt her cheeks blush, "It's not that your Bormah isn't a good teacher: he just makes it..difficult..to concentrate sometimes."
There was a deep chuckle heard from behind, to which Xana grabbed a handful of snow, balled it up, and threw it at her mate: hitting him precisely on the snout with a satisfying *PLAP*.

-Dawn-
As the adults finished locking/boarding up the house and securing the perimeter with wards and spells, the children tiredly climbed into the back of the wagon, relieved that their mothers had prepared a soft layer of furs for them to sleep on for the first few hours of the trip. To save on space however, Xana and Odahviing opted to fly overhead and keep a lookout for upcoming dangers, while her brothers and sister-in-law would escort the children.
Of course, they too thought this was the safest option, considering Nessie's current condition and the fact that their son and niece were more vulnerable if danger should appear. Granted, they'd never allow any harm to befall them, but the fear was always in the back of their minds.
Snuggling against each other for additional warmth, Brii pulled a quilted blanket over herself and LAD as they drifted off to sleep, while Renessie sat beside Shore as Sea drove the wagon away from homestead and onto the road.

The sun was just starting to set when the group decided to make camp for the night. While Odahviing flew off to catch them all some dinner, Xana, her brothers, and Renessie began assembling the tents while Light-Amidst-Darkness and Brii gathered sticks and fallen branches from nearby to use as firewood. Once a fire was lit and the tents were assembled, the young Dunmer unhinged Braum from the wagon and tethered him to a nearby tree where she presented him with a bucket of oats, carrots and apples. Having pulled the majority of the family all this way, he deserved a proper reward for his hard work and effort.
Soon afterwards, Odahviing returned with a pair of young stags. The smaller one was his to consume while the larger one was meant for everyone else. Seeing as how the children weren't allowed to help with preparing the meal, they decided to place the bedrolls inside the tents before joining the adults around the fire.
"Mama, when are you gonna lay your eggs?"
At his question, Renessie gave her son a smile while her hands rested atop her rounded belly, "I'm not laying eggs. Your siblings are going to be born like you were."
"But you're an Argonian. Shouldn't that mean you only lay eggs?"
"Normally, yes, but there are some rare occasions where an Argonian woman can have live births; however, that only tends to happen if she's not in close contact with the Hist during her cycle and after the time of conception. That's what happened with you, and that's what happened with your siblings. Of course, there are no Hist trees in Skyrim, so it was inevitable that this would be the outcome."
"Oh. So does that mean Aunt Marbella has to be around the Hist trees too?"
Shore emitted a chuckle and lovingly rubbed the top of his son's head, "Well, seeing as how she's a Breton, I doubt it; but then again, I could be wrong. You can certainly ask her when we see her and your Uncle Shastan tomorrow."
"Okay."

Upon settling down for the night, Xana had the children stay in one tent, while her brothers' and sister-in-law occupied the other. As for herself, she preferred sleeping beside her mate; however, neither of them were actually asleep as they didn't need to rest as often as everyone else. Both she and Odahviing were currently enjoying the quiet of the evening and gazing up at the stars; however, their peace was interrupted by soft rustling, to which they glanced over to see their kiir emerge from the nearby tent.
"Brii, what are you doing up at this hour?"
Rubbing her eyes with the back of her hand, she approached with her stuffed dragon doll (Blazey) tucked underneath her arm: It was handmade, red in color, and had one blue button eye and one dark red one just like she did. As an added detail, Xana had even sewn a Septim inside its belly, since every dragon she was forced to slay had coins in their stomachs. "I can't sleep. I tried counting sheep, but that just made me hungry. Can I sit with you two?"
"Geh, dii mal dovah," Odahviing replied with a soft nuzzle to her cheek, which brought a smile to her face as she hugged his snout.
Crawling into her Mother's lap, she hugged Blazey to her chest and asked, "How come you two aren't sleeping yet?"
"Well, your Bormah doesn't need to sleep as often as we do. And I just wanted to be close to him and enjoy his company," she stated as she brushed a strand of her daughter's hair behind her ear, causing the little hybrid to smile.
"Monah, what was it like growing up with five older brothers?"
"Hmm, it was fun but a bit challenging here and there. My brothers were quite protective of me, so I often had little privacy when I wanted time to myself. Yet despite that, they were always there for me when I needed them."
"Did you ever wish you had a sister?"
"Sometimes," she admitted with a shrug. "But I wouldn't trade my brothers for anything. Besides, it was kinda nice being the only girl among my siblings."
"I wish I had siblings," she pouted, to which both Xana and Odahviing shared a look before the young Dunmer emitted a sigh:
"I know you do, but you shouldn't worry about such things at this time. Besides, you currently don't have to share your Bormah and I with anyone."
"Yea, that's true," she smiled and hugged her, to which Xana kissed her cheek while Odahviing wrapped a wing around his little family.
