The sun rose, shining through the windows of Katie's small temporary apartment, hitting the eyes of a Dalmatian who was still resting on a small bed. Some time later, Marshall woke up, stretching but getting hit with pain moments later.

"Ow..." Marshall winced as he stood up, noticing Katie, who was still sound asleep.

He figured that maybe he could use this chance to sneak out but as he was contemplating his decision, he heard a knock at the door, hearing a familiar voice call out to him and waking up Katie almost instantly.

"Hey! Open up, mate!" Decker yelled from the outside as Katie groggily got up and opened the door, petting Marshall as she let the Australian mix inside. "Jesus...mate, you told me you were-." Decker was brought into a hug by the Dalmatian. The mix patted Marshall as he released him and allowed the Aussie to get a glimpse of his injuries. "Sit down and tell me what happened."

"I'll give you two some space." Katie said as she went to freshen up.

The two sat down close by as Marshall began to explain the events that occurred the previous night.

"I found Chase." Marshall lowered his ears. "He was injured but he managed to take out a group of dogs. Decker, I tried, I really did! I wanted to help him, but I let my two senses get the better of me. I got in his way and he repaid me with these." Marshall finished explaining as Decker pressed his forehead with his paw and sighed.

"Mate, you found Chase and didn't inform us, you know how close this case would've been if we had him right then and there?! Fucking hell, you could've been killed!" Decker yelled out.

"I know but I tried making him see reason, I told him that you and others would help him track down whoever he's looking for!" Marshall retorted.

Decker came to a rational decision as he let out a deep sigh.

"You're done, mate, I'm calling Agent Rich to have you and the others sent back to Adventure Bay." Decker informed.

"What? No! This is our fight too! You can't just leave us out of it!" Marshall argued.

"You disobeyed an order that was quite clear to you!" Decker argued back.

"He was just trying to help his friend!" Katie came back into the room, supporting the Dalmatian. "Orders or no orders, Chase was very close to Marshall, I'd know! They've been best friends for as long as I can remember, wouldn't you have done the same thing if it was your friend?" Katie asked the Aussie.

"I don't have friends but if it was the case..." Decker couldn't make a decision, he realized that Katie was right but the mission came first also. "I don't know." Decker looked at the two, sighing as he came to a conclusion. "Fine, one more chance and that's all you get, don't try that shit ever again without telling us." Decker concluded. "Come on, say goodbye to your friend and let's head back to the safe house."

With that, the Aussie Mix headed outside as Marshall looked at Katie, soon giving her a hug.

"Stay safe out there, Marshall, find Chase and be done with this." Katie ordered as she petted the Dalmatian.

"I will, I promise." Marshall smiled as he nodded at his friend, leaving her and following Decker throughout their return to the safe house.

Mavis woke up from her slumber, noticing that everyone else already left the room except for Mika and Chase, who were still sound asleep.

Well, almost sound asleep.

The Retriever glanced over at the Shepherd, noticing that he was mumbling and whimpering in his sleep, indicating he was having a bad dream.

Chase found himself inside a building, dead bodies of dogs nearby. He couldn't remember where exactly he was but it was going to come back to him in just a moment.

Chase looked around and realized where he was, the pup wanted to wake up and not relive one of the tragedies in his life again. The building was quiet, the Shepherd was scared and had no clue on what to do.

He glanced at the lifeless corpses that surrounded him, hearing someone call out to him as he was about to turn the bodies around.

"Amigo, slow down for a second, will ya?" Diaz asked as he stopped Chase from turning the bodies.

Chase said nothing as silence filled the room, with tears coming out of the Shepherd's eyes, noticing the heavy bleeding from the mongrel's side.

"I'm sorry..." Chase teared up.

"Amigo, it's not as bad as it seems." Diaz assured. "Suffered a better fate than these dogs, I can tell you that."

Diaz pointed at the corpses as Chase glanced back and forth, noticing a symbol on one of their collars.

It was one of his teammates' symbols.

"No...no...no, please." Chase begged to himself as he turned one of the corpses to face him.

The Shepherd fell back in fear as he realized who one of the dead bodies resembled.

It was Marshall, bruised and bloody.

"Marshall! No, no!" Chase cried as Diaz got closer.

"It's not just him, amigo..." Diaz stated as helped Chase turn the bodies around, revealing the other Paw Patrol members, lifeless and bruised.

Chase couldn't utter a single word, the tears in his eyes spoke for him as he hugged the lifeless corpse of one of his friends.

"No!" Chase instantly shot up from his dream, heart racing as fast as possible.

Mavis stepped back a bit, not ready for the Shepherd's immediate snap back to the real world. The Retriever noticed the heavy breathing that accompanied the Shepherd, she knew something was wrong and she wanted to try her best to help.

Chase frantically looked around as he still thought he was back in his dream.

"Hey, Isaac! It's okay." Mavis nuzzled the Shepherd, in an attempt to calm him down. "Just breathe, ok? Just breathe."

The rapid, heavy breathing soon slowed down as Chase got his surroundings back to him.

"There we go, just relax." Mavis calmed down as she stroked the pup's fur.

Just as she calmed the Shepherd down, Mika woke up and shot a question towards the two, concerned as ever.

"Hey, ith everything alright?" The Bernese Mountian dog asked as she noticed Mavis comforting the Shepherd.

"We're fine, he just had another bad dream." Mavis answered as she released the pup. "Hey? Isaac? Do you want to talk about it?"

The breathing was soon stabilized as Chase glanced at the two females.

"No. No, it was just a bad dream, I'm fine." Chase answered as he laid his head back down on the bed.

"You know what I do when I have a bad dream?" Mika questioned.

Chase shot a side glance at the large dog as his ear raised, listening to the question.

"I go for a walk through the abandoned greenhouthe." Mika smiled as she lent a paw out for the Shepherd. "Calmth me down when I have nightmareth...which ith a lot." Chase stood up from his bed and let out a small smile. "Come on, you two!" Mika led the two on and the trio made their way outside, with Chase still struggling to walk.

"Oh, on second thought, we should scrap that idea." Mavis suggested as she helped the Shepherd.

"No, no, I can handle it." Chase assured.

"Cody said to stay off it! What if something happens?" Mavis asked as she held onto the Shepherd, worried for him.

"Everything's going to be fine, we're not going too far anyway, right Mika?" Chase asked.

"Nope, it'th really clothe, don't worry, Mavith." Mika assured as she smiled at the two as she led them on.

The trio made their way through the Den as Mavis kept a close eye on Chase in case he injured his paw, while they were walking, Mavis asked the Bernese Mountain dog a question.

"So, did you tell Avery about those McAllister operations yesterday?" Mavis asked.

"Yeah, I gueth you got through to him, he jutht needed info on one of their operationth and thent Nashi, Levi, and Delta to thcout it out." Mika answered as she tilted her head a second later. "Why?"

Mavis let out a smile as she answered the large dog's question.

"Nashi and Delta had a squabble with each other but that doesn't matter right now, I just wanted to know if he wasn't pushing you to help out on this situation we've been having." Mavis explained. "Letting us know where they are is helpful enough and I think he sees that." Mavis smiled.

"Thankth." Mika sheepishly smiled as the trio finally made it outside. "Almotht there!" Mika assured.

After some time trekking through the area, the trio made it to the abandoned greenhouse, it was an average sized greenhouse that still had plants growing on the soil and moss around the glass panes. Chase looked at the sight, it was beautiful to a point, just seeing the flowers and such still blooming with the sun beaming through the glass gave the Shepherd a calming feeling but that begged a question to him and he was about to ask it.

"I thought this place was abandoned? These flowers look like they've been treated for some time." Chase wondered.

Mika let out a chuckle as she grabbed a watering can and started pouring it on the plants. Chase and Mavis noticed this and smiled at the Bernese Mountain Dog.

"So you've been heading out here on your own? Tending to these plants?" Mavis asked as she helped Mika water the plants.

"Yeah, I'm in love with nature!" Mika exclaimed as Chase shot a worried glance at the two. "Well, animalth are more of my thing but I thtill adore planting and thuch." Mika stated as she poured more water on the plants, letting it soak up in the dirt.

"Well, now that we know about this, how about we come help you from time to time?" Mavis asked as Mika stopped in her tracks and dropped her watering can. Soon rushing to hug the Retriever, crushing her to an extent without even knowing.

"Really?! Thank you! Thank you!" Mika smiled as she hugged the Retriever even tighter.

"Can't...can't breathe!" Mavis tapped the large dog's shoulder to let her know, soon being released and gasping for air.

"Thorry!" Mika apologized as she let out a nervous smile.

"That's...the second time." Mavis chuckled as she caught her breath. "Yeah...we'll help out whenever we can." Mavis assured as she grabbed the watering can again and finished her side of the plants. "What do you think, Isaac?"

Chase snapped back to reality as the Retriever shot the question towards him.

"I don't think this is a good idea." Chase answered. "It's nothing against you but what if the others find out about your little hobby?" Chase asked the two.

"They're not going to do anything crazy." Mavis hoped as Chase raised his brow at her. "Okay, maybe they'll do something."

Chase sighed as he brought up another question.

"Another thing, what if one of those McAllisters comes here or, god forbid, Ajax?" Chase asked as he stepped aside for Mika to pass through.

Mavis looked at the Bernese Mountain dog with worry, Chase was right after all.

"He's right." Mika lowered her head as she realized that she wouldn't be able to tend to her hobby as often as she'd like. "But I'll stick close so that doesn't happen." Mavis assured as Mika let out a smile.

"Thankth, what about you, Ithaac?" Mika asked.

"I don't know, Avery doesn't want me involved with this whole ordeal and after that last job, I doubt I'm gonna be any use to him until this heals up." Chase answered as he sighed out of frustration. "I hate not being useful."

"It's just a little while." Mavis held the pup's paw. "You'll head back out there in no time, just rest up until then." The Retriever smiled."Speaking of which, we should head back, in case Avery needs us."

The trio left the small greenhouse and began to make their way back to the Den, unaware of the problems they were soon going to face.

The docks were busy like usual, workers doing their assigned tasks left and right as a group of dogs walked into the premises, heading inside one of the small buildings.

The group soon walked into the main room where the dogs were distributing ration cards and other products. Seeing their bosses conversing with another dog, a grey Husky.

"Sean, Gideon! We got some bad news! Some fucking deadbeats stole our stash yesterday!" The leader of the group shouted as the two main leaders remained calm.

The grey Husky was brushed aside as one of the leaders turned to face the group.

"How come this is now being brought to my attention?" Gideon asked.

"Well...half of our dogs that were posted over there were...taken out. The others that were remaining tracked them down but they couldn't catch them." The dog explained.

"Any idea who exactly caused this? I hope it's not who we think it is." Gideon said as he glanced at the dog.

"The few that came back said that it was some dogs from the Den." Gideon sighed as he heard the name.

"I thought we had a truce going on with them for some time?" Sean asked.

"We did but they broke it a couple months back. Anyway, how can we be so sure it was them?" Gideon asked the panting dog.

"They were at the Den, they chased them all the way there but couldn't do anything because of the boundaries we set." The dog answered.

"You know what? Fuck the boundaries! They want to steal our shite? Cause problems? Gather up whatever dogs we have, we're running to their little home and tearing it down." Sean ordered as the Husky that was brushed aside stepped in.

"I think I have a better solution than going there and causing trouble right from the start." The Husky added, with his British accent accompanying him.

"Oh? Spit it out then." Gideon gestured for the Husky to speak.

"I head on there on my own and scout the places out, see if I can get any info on anything before we move on them." The Husky suggested as Gideon placed his paw on his chin.

"Hm...that'll have to do. Head down there and see what you can find." Gideon ordered.

"You got it, remember our part of the deal, though." The dog reminded.

"Yeah, I know how this shite works, Satoon. Do this and I'll tell you what I know about the shipment." Gideon assured as Satoon nodded, leaving the docks with the intention of scoping the downtown area to the best of his ability.

As the door swung open to the safe house, Marshall stumbled on the floor, exhausted from the walk as he landed on his good paw.

Decker came in soon after, shutting the door and helping the Dalmatian up. "Up you go, mate." Decker chuckled as Marshall got his stance back.

"Thanks." Marshall nodded as he sat down. "So, what now? I mean, what're we going to do about Chase now that I messed everything up?" The Dalmatian asked as he laid his head down.

Decker gave it some thought as he pressed his pup tag to call the pups. "Everyone, listen up good. Our lead on Chase went cold and our insider hasn't told us anything yet, we're going to have to focus on the McAllister brothers until then."

"What? What happened to Chase?" Marshall heard Skye ask through the pup tag.

"Marshall had a run-in with him, Rich and Ramirez cannot know that. They do, they're sending you and the rest back to Adventure Bay and I know you pups don't want that." Decker assumed right.

"Is the dude okay?" Zuma asked with worry in his voice.

"He got roughed up a bit...it seems like Chase was pushed to the edge...and he responded by attacking him." Decker answered as he looked at the pup, showing some sorrow. "Chase is becoming dangerous, out of control."

"So what do we do?" Rocky asked through the tag.

"We focus on the other thing, the McAllister Brothers. If you remember from when Zuma and Rubble went into their investigation, they're having problems with some other crew so that should help us out when we take the fight to them, slowly." Decker explained. "I'm gonna need everyone on deck for this, I'll inform Rich and tell him something bullshit, so that we'll be able to move up on them." Decker finished explaining.

"Where are we going to stay?" Rubble asked.

"We'll stay at the safe house with you and Rubble, we all need to be in on this to handle the situation." Decker stated as the others gave it a thought.

"I'm in."

"Count me in, also."

"How could I say no?"

"Yep, I'm all in, dude."

"Then it's settled. Skye, Rocky, head out to the docks and meet up with Zuma and Rubble." Decker ordered.

"Got it." Skye ended the call as she and Rocky soon made their way.

"We'll be there soon, anything happens, let us know." Decker advised.

"Got it, dude." Zuma agreed as the call was now over and the pup's objectives were clear.

"I'm sorry for not telling you about the lead I had on Chase..." Marshall lowered his ears in shame.

"Don't worry about it, mate. Hopefully by the time we're done handling the McAllister Brothers, we'll have a solid lead back on him." Decker hoped as he placed his paw on the Dalmatian's shoulder. "Let's head out."

Clacking was heard as the trio trekked on through the sidewalks, heading back to the Den after the trip to the greenhouse.

"I hoped the trip calmed you down, Ithaac." Mika smiled.

"It did, more than I thought it would, I...I appreciate it." Chase smiled back as Mavis held his paw, happy that the Shepherd was now back to his calm state of mind. But the Retriever still had something lurking in her mind, something that made her curious.

"Hey, Isaac?" Mavis called out as the trio kept walking.

"Yes?" Chase's ears flickered at the question.

"I've been meaning to ask you something." Mavis stopped the pup in his tracks as Mika watched.

"W-what is it?" Chase asked, a bit nervous.

"Before we took care of Deacon, I went to check up on you in Avery's office." Mavis became nervous, fidgeting her paws on the ground.

"Yeah? What happened?" Chase asked as he tilted his head.

"We-well, I found you asleep and when I tried waking you up, you mumbled some things. Something that had to do with someone named Skye." Chase froze as he heard the Cockapoo's name. "Who was this 'Skye'?" Mavis asked.

"I...I said that?" Chase asked.

"Yeah, was she close to you?" Mavis asked as Mika noticed that the Retriever was probably getting too personal.

Chase sighed as he stood silent, glancing at the ground and thinking back to what he said to Skye the night before he left. The Shepherd figured that he couldn't say anything, even to someone like Mavis.

"She was no one important." Chase answered coldly. "Just a pup I met on my way here."

Mavis saw through the Shepherd's lies, part of her wanted to call him out but at the same time, she didn't want to. She needed to think of something.

"You were apologizing to her, why was that?" Mavis asked as Chase started to become irritated. "Who was thi-?" The Retriever was cut off.

"What with all the questions, huh?!" Chase yelled out. "She was a nobody, alright?!" Mavis and Mika stepped back at the pup's outburst. "Why are you so keen on knowing? Jealousy hit you or something?" Chase asked as he started pressuring the Retriever.

"N-no! It's nothing like that!" Mavis defended.

"Come on, you two, now ithn't the time for thith." Mika tried defusing the situation, she hated it when these things happened.

"It was just...just..." Mavis couldn't find a lie to save her.

"Just what?!" Chase asked.

"It was-" Mavis's pup tag received a call. She looked at the Shepherd who stepped back and let her answer the call but instead, she turned it off. "I was just worried that we couldn't protect that pup!" Mavis yelled out.

"What?" Chase questioned.

"I figured this was someone you cared about, so maybe we could've found her and helped her, keep her safe." Mavis answered.

"That wouldn't matter." Chase sighed. "Look, she was just somebody I cared about, somebody I made a promise to and broke it. Please, just drop it." Chase looked back onto the ground with a stern look.

"I'm sorry." Mavis nuzzled the pup. "I was too...demanding, I shouldn't have pushed you to tell me something you didn't want to talk about." The Retriever apologized as Chase slightly nuzzled back.

"It's alright." Chase looked around. "Enough delays, come on, let's head back."

As the trio went and came back from their short trip, Delta, Nashi, and Levi were on another job. They were instructed by Avery to just scope out the area and make sure there weren't any stragglers wandering around.

The trust Avery had for them dwindled down from the incident yesterday and now they were stuck doing a small job like this, getting paid scraps for their work when before they were getting paid decent amounts.

"This is such bullshit..." Nashi complained.

"Suck it up, this is partly your fault anyway." Delta reminded as Nashi groaned.

"Ain't ever gonna let that slide, right?" Nashi asked as Levi sighed at the two.

"It literally happened yesterday, kinda hard not to." Delta answered as he rolled his eyes.

"Can you two just knock it off? It's really not helping." Levi sighed as he looked over across the street, noticing a restaurant with civilians dining outside. His stomach started growling as he saw the civilians enjoying their meals. "Oh man, I'm starving."

Delta felt a small ounce of sympathy for the pup. "We'll get something to eat soon, let's scope a little bit longer and then we'll head back and grab some food." Delta smiled as he patted the pup's back, giving him reassurance. "Hell, if anything we can head to Spencer, maybe he'll give us a better job."

The trio kept moving forward, unaware that the new enforcer for the McAllisters was eavesdropping on them.

"Boss, I got something." Satoon advised as he hid behind a dumpster close to where the trio was. "I got a name, some bugger named Spencer, I'll try to see what I can find on 'em." Satoon assured as he momentarily heard Gideon's voice through his tag.

"Alright, keep a low profile until we get something on this 'Spencer'." Gideon ordered as Satoon listened. "It shouldn't be that long considering we got leverage on someone who can help us out a lot."

Satoon tilted his head. "Who's that?"

"Hendrix Remington."
