Episode 2: Enter New York
Meanwhile Mario is falling through the portal and soon arrives in another world. He lands on the ground with a thud. After recovering from the fall, he wakes up to see that he is in an entirely different world. He gets up to take a look around. There are tall buildings, passing cars, and people walking on the sidewalk.
He walks towards the street and crosses it, unaware about the regulations. But then a car plows into him and he falls onto its hood. He gets up and apologizes to the car driver before going to the other side of the street.
Everywhere he can see people bustling about the city. He turns to a man at a bus stop. "Do you know what place this is?" He asks.
"Here?" He says. "It's a bus stop."
"No." Says Mario, "I mean this entire place."
"Oh," he says, "It's New York." The bus soon arrives and he gets onto it.
Mario then walks away and tries to find his way back to Mushroom Kingdom. He asks several people if they know how to get back to there. But he is being met with laughs and ridicule as they don't even know a place like that since it's a different dimension. He later walks past a school called "Midtown High School."
In the school, a teenage boy is waiting outside a classroom. Soon the school bell rings and out of the classroom came the students. He waited until he was being greeted by a redhead girl. "Hey Peter." She says.
"MJ." He says. The two start to walk and talk together.
"Pete!" Says a guy who approaches them.
"Harry." Says Peter.
"Want to walk to our next class together?" Asks Harry.
"Absolutely." Says Peter. The two part ways from MJ and they head to their next classes.
As they talked while walking, another student shoves Peter to the ground, resulting in nearby students laughing. "Oh Puny Parker!" Says the student. "You're even wimpier than I thought."
"Leave him alone Flash!" Says Harry as he helps his best friend up.
Flash and his friends just laugh as they walk away. "Thanks," says Peter as he and Harry headed for class.
Meanwhile in Mushroom Kingdom, the rest of Mario's friends and allies are cleaning the ruined party. Luigi is trying to contact him via cellphone, only to be met with no signal. "I can't contact him." He says.
"This is just great." Says Yoshi as he is disposing of several ruined food. "Peach is taken yet again and now Mario is gone."
"That jerk Bowser has ruined our party!" Complains Wario. "For once I want to eat my food in peace."
"Nobody destroys my cake and gets away with it!" Says Waluigi. "I want revenge!"
"We've got to save Mario and Peach." Says Luigi. "But how?"
Yoshi thinks for a moment and says, "Maybe we should go to Bowser's Castle, save Peach, and then use that device to save Mario from that other dimension."
"I don't know." Says Wario. "It's going to be dangerous going there."
"Do you really want more of the food that she cooks?" Asks Luigi. "Then you'll have to rescue her from the dungeon."
"Alright fine!" Says Wario.
"Good." Says Luigi. "Then let's go!"
"Please be careful you folks!" Says Toadsworth as he and two Toads wish them a good luck. "You're our only hope!"
Luigi, Yoshi, Wario, and Waluigi all venture into the distance.
Meanwhile in New York, Mario is at a store apparently shopping around. He is looking around the aisle at different items. He is unsure of which items he needs to get back to his home. He takes one item and looks at it before putting it back and taking a look at another item. He even asks a store clerk about the item he is taking a look at. So far the answers don't seem to satisfy him.
In one aisle Peter Parker is shopping around and taking a look at stuff. As he is doing so, Mario walks past him.
Soon something catches his eyes. He goes over to the electronic aisle and see stacks of TVs. He looks at them along with the other electronic devices. "What kind of stuff can get me back to Mushroom Kingdom?" He asks. "Whatever can be worse than being trapped here?"
At that moment, there is a rumbling sound, which startles him. The shelves are shaking and several items fell from them. He sees the wall shake before it explodes.
As the dust cleared Mario looks to see what is going on. He sees a robotic extendable arm come in followed by three more of them. He hides behind a shelf while still watching. In comes a man wearing sunglasses and the four arms attached to his back. Mario watches as he approaches the hardware aisle and start putting several gears and tools into his bag.
"Hey!" He calls out to him. "What do you think you're doing?"
This got his attention and he responds by knocking a shelf down onto Mario with his arm, pinning him to the ground.
The man then proceeds to go on his spree in the store, where several people start running away in all sort of directions. Two security guards confront him and point their guns at him. "Stop right there!" Says one of them.
"Put your hands in the air!" Says the other. The multi-arm man responds by knocking them into the air with his mechanical arms.
Mario manages to get out from under the shelf. He grabs a hammer and throws it at the madman. "Not so fast!" He says to him as he tries to fight him.
But he is getting attacked by his robot arms. "You think you can interfere with me?" The man asks as he approaches him. "Well you can't take on me!"
Unknown to them, Peter saw the ordeal and immediately runs off.
Mario gets up and says "Oh yeah! Try this!" And he throws a fireball at him. He then throws several more at him. After several hits, the mechanical arms man blocks them with his robotic extendibles.
He then grabs Mario with them and throws him all over the store, knocking down shelves and other stuff. "Mama mia!" cries the plumber.
He tries to fight back, only to be grabbed on by all of his limbs. The twisted man then lifts him towards a ceiling fan intending to chop him. "Say goodnight mustache!" He says.
As Mario tries to avoid getting shredded, a web gets stuck onto the man's glasses. This causes him to misdirect Mario away from the fan, allowing him to escape from the grip.
The web came from a figure wearing red and blue with a spider symbol on his chest. He jumps in and says. "Dr. Octopus. I see you still didn't learn your lesson on robbing stores!" Mario is surprised to see the figure.
"You!" Shouts Dr. Octopus. And he starts to fight him. The red and blue figure shoots web at his mechanical arms, sticking them to the ground. He then jump kicks him.
After a couple of blow exchanges, Dr. Octopus grabs him and throws him towards a shelf, which ended up falling on top of him and pinning him to the ground.
Upon seeing this, Mario rushes towards Dr. Octopus and jump kicks at him.
Enraged, the doctor says, "I've had enough of you!" He then hits him with his mechanical arm. The fight is soon taken out of the store and into the mall. After constant clashing, they ended up on the top of the building.
The red & blue figure webs the mechanical arms and then begins swinging around Dr. Octopus, tying him up.
"That does it!" Say the doctor. He then cuts the web wrapped around him and then gets up. He knocks out the webber to the ground before turning towards Mario.
"Guess I'll have to take you out of the picture!" He says before grabbing him by the ankle. Then he dangles him upside down over the edge of the building.
After holding him there for a couple of seconds, he says, "Bye bye." And then he drops him. Mario is falling in the air while Octopus makes a break for it.
Mario is feeling terrified has he screams while falling towards the street below. The red & blue person jumps after him. He grabs him and then webs a part of the building and begins swinging through the air.
Mario is surprised by this. "What's going on?!" He asks.
"Just saving your life Mr." Says the person in red & blue.
"How are you doing that?" Asks Mario.
"I've got superpowers." Says the webber.
Mario is feeling terrified while being carried out through the air. "Put me down please!" He demanded.
"Ok!" Says the person. And he descends down to the ground and puts him down. His hair is all messy from all the swinging.
"You ok?" Asks the red & blue person.
"I think so." Says Mario. "Who are you?"
"You don't know who I am?" Asks the figure.
"No," says Mario, "That's why I asked.
"I'm your friendly neighborhood Spiderman." Says the figure.
"I'm sorry." Says Mario. "I'm not from this world."
Before Mario could ask anything else, Spiderman senses something and he looks to see what's up.
At that moment, an orange ball drops next to both of them. "Look out!" Cries Spiderman and he lunges and Mario away from it. Ka Boom! It explodes.
After the smoke cleared, they both hear a maniacal laugh. Spiderman looks up in the air and sees another one of his foes. It is a green elf riding an aircraft. "Goblin!" He says. He immediately grabs Mario and start swinging in the air again. The Green Goblin chased after them on his glider.
As Spiderman dodges every bomb blasts while carrying Mario around, Mario asks, "What's going on here?"
"No time to talk." Says Spiderman as he continues to dodge the pumpkin bombs being hurled at them.
After a couple of more swinging, Spiderman webs a bomb being thrown at him and then sends it back to the Green Goblin.
The explosion sends it flying off his glider. "That takes care of him." Says Spiderman.
Mario is feeling scared and unhinged with all the swinging. "Alright I've had enough!" He says, "Put me down right now!"
"If you insist." Responds Spiderman. And with that, he descends to the ground. Mario's hair is messed up from all the swinging.
As he fixes it, the web sling asks. "You ok?"
"I think I am." Responds the Italian plumber. "This is a very weird day."
"Well you'll have to get use to it." Says Spiderman. "There are high levels of crimes."
"I assume it's much worse than my world." Says Mario.
"You're world?" Exclaims Spidey.
"Yeah," says the plumber. "I have been transported here by a device. This happened after my princess has been kidnapped."
"Princess." Says Spidey. "Kidnapped?"
"It's a long story." Says Mario. "And right now I need to get back to my world."
"That might take a while." Says Spiderman.
"You're right." Says Mario, "And now I would like to find a place to stay."
"You can find a hotel here." Says Spidey.
"Hotel?" Exclaims Mario. "What's that?"
"It's a place where anyone can stay for the night. There are beds, diners, and more." Answers Spidey.
"OK." Says Mario. "Could you perhaps take me to one?"
"Absolutely." Answers the web head.
And with that, he picks him up again and swings away.
