Our heroes are still in the Wild Area on their way to Motostoke, they decided to take a lunch break. While having lunch with their Pokémon, a Jolteon walked into camp.
"Jolt, Jolt," barked the Jolteon.
"Cool a Jolteon," Roan said.
"I've never seen one in real life," Chloe said, as she grabbed her Rotom-Phone and opened up her Pokédex app.
Jolteon, the Lightning Pokémon. An Electric type. Jolteon puts out an electric charge equivalent to 10,000 volts. Quite high-strung, it's not easy to befriend.
"Jolteon," said a voice.
Ash, Roan and Chloe looked in the direction where the voice came from, a boy came walking up. The boy was wearing a blue varsity jacket, with a yellow and purple t-shirt underneath, white jeans and yellow and purple high sneakers (the Electric sport shoes of the game), the boy had blue eyes and blond hair, his hair was covered by a black cap with yellow accents, which he wore backwards.
"There you are Jolteon," the boy said.
"Jolt, jolt," barked Jolteon.
"You can't just walk away," said the boy.
"Jolt," barked Jolteon.
Sorry, I think he smelled the food," Chloe said.
"That's okay, it's not your fault, but I don't blame Jolteon for coming here right now either, that food smells delicious," said the boy.
"Why don't you and Jolteon join us for a bite, we have plenty, Ash suggested.
"That's very kind of you but I can't just join you guys for dinner, we don't know each other," said the boy.
"Hi, I'm Ash and these are my Pokémon Pikachu and Rookidee," Ash said.
"Pikachu," Squeaked Pikachu.
"Rookidee," Rookidee chirped.
"I'm Roan and these are Scorbunny and Toxel," Roan said.
"Scorbunny," Scorbunny squeaked.
"Toxel," Toxel hissed.
"And I'm Chloe and this is my partner Yamper," Chloe said.
"Yamper," barked Yamper.
"I'm Cody and you had already met Jolteon," Chloe said.
"So now that we know each other's names, Cody will you join us for lunch?" Chloe asked.
"I'd love to," Cody said.
Chloe scooped up two plates and walked over to Cody and Jolteon and gave each a plate. "Here you go," she said.
"Thank you," Cody said.
"Jolteon," barked Jolteon.
Cody took a bite of the food and seemed to like it right away. "Wow this is good," he said.
"Thank you," Chloe said.
"Jolt," barked Jolteon agreeing with Cody.
"Yeah, Chloe's a good cook", Roan said.
"Then you guys are lucky to be traveling with her," Cody said.
"Indeed we are very lucky," Roan said.
"Cody, what are you doing here in the Wild Area?" Ash asked.
"I was training with my Pokémon, getting ready for the Gym Challenges," Cody explained.
"So you want to compete in the Galar-League?" Ash asked.
"Yes and by your excitement, I can tell that you want to compete," Cody said.
"I do and planning to win it," Ash said.
"So am I and who knows, maybe we'll fight each other in the League," Cody said.
"How about we have a fight right now, my Pikachu against your Jolteon," Ash suggested.
"An electric type against electric type, sounds like fun," Cody said.
"Okay, then," Ash said.
"Ash that fight will have to wait," Chloe said.
"Why?" Asked Ash.
"It's your turn to do the dishes today," Chloe reminded Ash.
"Oh, yeah," Ash said.
Ash and Pikachu went to do the dishes, and while they were doing so, Team Rocket was somewhere else in the Wild Area enjoying their lunch.
"These are delicious sandwiches," James said.
"I know and you have me to thank for it," Jessie said.
"You didn't even make them yourself, you stole them from trainers' bags when they weren't paying attention," Meowth said.
"I said I'd provide lunch, I never specifically said I'd make them myself," Jessie said.
"Let's face it, we can never expect Jessie to make a meal anytime soon," James said.
"You know what I wonder," Meowth said.
"What?" James asked.
"If those little twerps are still out there somewhere in the Wild Area?" Meowth asked.
"I think they are," Jessie said.
"What do you say when we're done with these sandwiches, we go see what the twerps are up to," suggested Meowth.
"Good idea," Jessie and James in unison.
A few minutes later Ash had finished the dishes and was now going to have a fight with Cody, Chloe had made herself a referee.
"This is a one on one fight, the fight is over if one of the Pokémon is unable to battle," explained Chloe.
"Understood," Cody said.
"Cody, since I figured you out, you get to make the first move," Ash said.
"Sounds like a good plan," Cody said. "Jolteon use BITE."
"Jolt," barked Jolteon as he charged at Pikachu.
"Pikachu dodge it with QUICK ATTACK," commanded Ash.
"Pika," Pikachu squeaked as he avoided Jolteon's attack.
Pikachu is fast, but this was just the beginning," Cody said.
"Jolt," Jolteon barked.
"Jolteon use SWIFT!" Cody commanded.
"Pikachu use your IRON TAIL to destroy that SWIFT," Ash commanded.
"Pika," squeaked Pikachu
Pikachu used his Iron Tail to stop Jolteon's attack and it was working.
"They are good," Cody admitted. "Jolteon use your QUICK ATTACK and head straight for Pikachu!"
"Jolteon," Jolteon barked.
"Pikachu wait until Jolteon is close enough and use your IRON TAIL to stop him, Ash command.
"Pika," Pikachu squeaked with a determination in his voice
Pikachu got ready to attack Jolteon, Jolteon kept getting closer and closer to Pikachu.
"Pikachu, now IRON TAIL!" Commanded Ash.
"Now Jolteon use your BITE and grab Pikachu's tail," Cody commanded.
"Jolt," Jolteon barked.
Before Pikachu could use his attack," Jolteon bit his tail.
"Pika," Squeaked the surprised Pikachu.
"Oh no, Pikachu," Ash said.
"Gotcha," Cody said.
"Pikachu try to shake Jolteon off," Ash said.
Pikachu nodded his head. "Pika," squeaked Pikachu.
Pikachu began to run and shook its tail to get Jolteon off of it, but Jolteon did not let go. Pikachu became exhausted from running and stopped, while Jolteon was stilling hanging on to Pikachu's tail
"Pikachu, use THUNDERBOLT," Ash commanded.
"Pikachu!" Squeaked Pikachu.
Pikachu used its attack a put Jolteon under shock, but the attack did not have much effect, Jolteon still had its teeth set in Pikachu's tail.
"It did nothing, Jolteon took no damage," Roan said.
"That is because Jolteon is an electric type just like Pikachu, therefore electric attacks will have almost no effect," Chloe explained.
"But what does that mean for Ash? If he can't use Pikachu's electric attacks," Roan said.
"He'll have to do it with IRON TAIL and QUICK ATTACK," Chloe said.
"Jolteon, throw Pikachu into the air now," commanded.
"Jolteon," barked Jolteon as he threw Pikachu in the air.
"Pika," cried Pikachu.
"Jump into the air and use your DOUBLE EGDE," commanded Cody.
Jolteon jumped into the air and used his Double Edge attack against Pikachu. Pikachu crashed down and fell hard to the ground, while Jolteon landed safely on his feet.
"Pikachu!" Shouted Ash.
"Pi, pika," Pikachu squeaked slowly getting up, but having a bit of trouble because he took quite some damage.
"Pikachu took quite some damage," said Roan.
"Yes, but because Jolteon used DOUBLE EGDE, he took quite a bit of damage himself," Chloe said.
"So who do you think will win Pikachu and Ash or Jolteon and Cody?" Roan asked.
"Both have a chance, but of course I do hope Ash wins," Chloe said.
"Me too," Roan said.
"Come Pikachu, we're not done yet," Ash said.
"Pika, pika," Pikachu squeaked.
"That Pikachu of yours is not someone who gives up easy, I like that," Cody said.
"Your Jolteon looks like he's not ready to give up," Ash said.
"That's right," Cody said.
"But we won't give up, not as long as this battle is still going," Ash said.
"That's what I thought," Cody said.
"Pikachu, VOLT TACKLE," Commanded Ash
"But what does Ash think he is doing? He knows electric attacks won't do much damage against Jolteon," Roan said.
"But VOLT TACKLE, is a very strong attack and since Jolteon already has some damage, so it could be enough to knock Jolteon out," Chloe said.
"Jolteon use your DOUBLE EGDE again," Cody commanded.
Pikachu and Jolteon used their attacks ran towards each other, the two Pokémon clashed into each other, causing a big dust cloud to appear over the field.
"Pikachu," shouted Ash.
"Jolteon," shouted Cody.
The dust cleared, both Pikachu and Jolteon were still standing, but both Pokémon had taken a lot of damage.
Suddenly Pikachu fell down to the ground. "Pi," squeaked Pikachu.
"Pikachu!" Ash shouted.
"Pikachu unable to battle, Jolteon wins, victory goes to Cody," Chloe said.
Cody ran towards Jolteon and picked him up. "Well done Jolteon," Cody said.
"Jolt, jolt," barked Jolteon happily.
Pikachu ran towards Pikachu and picked him up off the ground. "Pikachu are you okay?" Ash asked.
"Pika," Pikachu squeaked softly.
"You put up a good fight, thank you," Ash said.
"That was a good fight," Cody said.
"I agree," Ash said. "Congratulations on the win."
"It's Jolteon who deserves all the credit,' Cody said.
"Come I will heal Pikachu and Jolteon," Chloe said.
Thank you Chloe," Cody said.
Chloe grabbed some medicine from her bag and fixed up Pikachu and Jolteon, she gave them both an Oran Berry for some extra healing.
"So they both have healed up a bit," said Chloe.
"Thank you," Chloe, Ash said.
"No problem," Chloe said.
"Do you really feel fit enough Jolteon?" Cody asked.
Jolteon nodded his head. "Jolt," barked Jolteon.
"Good, so are you in the mood for finding an active Den then?" Cody asked.
"Jolteon," Jolteon barked.
"An active den?" Chloe asked.
"Yes, I wanted to see if I can find a Pokémon there," Cody said.
"Cool," Roan said.
"May we join you? Dynamax and Gigantamax is an interest of mine, so I always hoped to see an active den," Chloe said.
"Sure, I could use your help," Cody said.
"Let's go find a den!" Cheered Ash.
"Pika, pika," squeaked Pikachu cheering along with his best friend.
Ash, Roan, Chloe and Cody left and went in search of a den. Not far above them, Team Rocket's balloon was floating up in the air.
"So those little twerps made a new friend," James said.
"One who has a strong Jolteon," Jessie said.
"We should steal it and give it to the boss," James said.
"I agree, but we can do better," Meowth said.
"How?" Jessie asked.
"All the twerps have at least one Electric type Pokémon, we steal them all and give them to the boss," Meowth explained.
"What would the boss want with so many Electric Pokémon?" James asked.
"Here's what the boss can do with them," Meowth said.
Team Rocket Fantasy:
Meowth: Imagine the boss is cranky because he's been hit with yet another very high bill for the electric variety, causing him to lose a lot of money. But then we gift him these Electric Pokémon, which make his own Team Rocket electricity for him, and then you know what he says.
Fantasy Giovanni: I have to thank Meowth and his friends for this great Pokémon and that now I don't have to pay any more money to the electricity company.
"And what is he going to do with that extra money?" James asked.
"Give it to us, of course, as a thank you," Meowth said.
"We love this Electric pitch, we're gonna be rich," Jessie cheered.
"Wobbuffet," cried Wobbuffet, as he popped out his Pokéball
Ash, Roan, Chloe and Cody walked through the Wild Area and came out to the Rolling Fields where there was an active Den.
"Finally we found a Den," Cody said.
"So this is what one looks like," Ash said.
"Cool," Roan said.
"But wait if we enter the Den the Pokémon will be Dynamaxed or maybe it's a Gigantamax," Chloe said. "How do you want to take care of that?"
"Don't worry I'm prepared," Cody said, showing off his Dynamax band.
"A Dynamax band, that is so cool," Chloe said.
"What does a band like that do?" Ash asked.
"It gives you access to Dynamax," Chloe explained.
"Wow, I can't wait to see that," said an excited Ash.
'Then let's get the inside den," Cody said.
Ash, Roan, Chloe and Cody entered the Den. When the 4 trainers were inside the Den they came across a very big Grubbin.
"Wow that one is big," Ash said.
"Pika," Pikachu squeaked.
The Grubbin let out its cry, which was also much louder and more powerful than a normal cry.
"What is happening?" Roan said.
"This is a Max Raid Battle," Cody explained.
"What should we do?" Roan asked.
"It's the four of us against that Grubbin, quickly choose your Pokémon," Cody said.
"Here we go Pikachu," Ash said.
"Pika," Pikachu squeaked.
"Yamper get ready for battle," Chloe said.
"Yamper," barked Yamper.
Roan grabbed a Pokéball from his pocket and threw it. "Go Toxel," Roan said.
"Toxel," Hissed Toxel
"The battle will now begin," Cody said.
"Let's go for it," Ash said.
"We have to be careful, if a Pokémon is Dynamaxed, its attacks will be different than normal," Chloe explained.
"Chloe's right, we've go be on our guard," Cody said.
The Dynamax Grubbin used Max Quake, against Pikachu one that obviously had a lot of effect.
"Pika,' Squeaked Pikachu.
"Pikachu!" Shouted Ash.
"What kind of attack was that?" Roan asked.
"That was Max Quake which is the Ground Dynamax attack," Cody explained.
"But can't we use Dynamax attacks too?" Ash asked.
"No, we can only use one normal attack, when one of our Pokémon is Dynamaxed it can only use those attacks," explained Cody.
"Then let's stop talking and attack, Pikachu IRON TAIL," Ash commanded.
"Pika," squeaked Pikachu.
"Now Toxel use NUZZLE," Roan commanded.
"Toxel," hissed Toxel.
"Yamper TACKLE," Chloe commanded.
The three Pokémon attacked Grubbin, only the attacks were not as powerful. Grubbin used Max Quake again, this time against Yamper.
"Yamper," barked Yamper.
"Oh no, Yamper," Chloe said.
"Okay, if we fight like this, we'll never beat Grubbin," Roan said.
"That's why I'm moving on to bigger action," Cody said. "Are you ready, Jolteon?"
"Jolt," barked Jolteon.
Cody Dynamax band lit up and he Dynamaxed Jolteon. Jolteon became very large and seemed much more powerful.
"Wow, that one grew quite a bit," Roan stated.
"So this is what Dynamax looks like up close," Chloe said.
"Okay, Jolteon MAX STRIKE, let's go," commanded Cody.
"Jolt," barked Jolteon.
Jolteon used his Max Strike attack against the Grubbin, and this time the Grubbin got more damage.
"All right," Ash said.
"This had more effect," Roan said.
"But it's not over yet, because Grubbin looks like he's going to attack again," Cody said.
And Cody was right, the Grubbin used Max Flutterby against Jolteon, Jolteon did get some damage because of this, but he could still fight on.
"We're going for it again Jolteon," Cody said.
"Jolt," Barked with a determinations in voice.
"And we will help you guys too, Pikachu THUNDERBOLT!" Commanded Ash.
"Toxel, use your NUZZLE again," Roan commanded.
"You too Yamper, NUZZLE," Chloe commanded.
The three Pokémon again used full force their attacks against the Grubbin.
"Okay, Jolteon show him your MAX LIGHTNING," Cody commanded.
"Jolteon!" Barked Jolteon.
Jolteon used his attack and hit Grubbin and because of this he was defeated.
"He is down," Ash said.
"Here we go," Cody said.
Cody threw the Pokéball at Grubbin, the Grubbin went into the Pokéball. The Pokéball shook three times and then shrank again and so did Jolteon.
"Yes, we did it," Cody said.
"Well done Cody," Chloe said.
"Thank you, I couldn't have done it without you and your Pokémon," Cody said.
Cody walked over to the Pokéball and picked it up. He then left the Den with Ash, Roan and Chloe.
"That was cool," Roan said.
"I've never experienced anything like that before," Ash said.
"Let's see what we can find out about Grubbin, Chloe said, taking out her Rotom-Phone and opening her Pokédex app.
Grubbin, the Larva Pokémon. A Bug type. It uses its big jaws to dig nests into the forest floor, and it loves to feed on sweet tree sap.
Suddenly, four mechanical hands appeared from the sky and grabbed Pikachu, Yamper, Toxel and Jolteon.
"Hey what's going on here?" Cody asked.
"Oh I have a hunch," Chloe said.
The evil laughter of Team Rocket could be heard.
"Just like I thougt, Chloe said.
"Team Rocket," said Roan.
"Prepare for trouble!" Jessie said.
"And make it double!" James said.
"To protect the world from devastation!" Jessie said.
"To unite all people within our nation!" James said.
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!" Jessie said.
"To extend our reach to the stars above!" James said.
"Jessie!" Jessie said.
"And James!" James said.
"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!" Jessie said.
"Surrender now or prepare for a fight!" James said.
"Meowth! That's right!" Meowth said.
"Wobbuffet!" Cried Wobbuffet.
"I knew you guys were be behind this," Chloe said.
"Then you thought right you little twerpette," Meowth said.
"How is it possible that, that Meowth can speak like a human? "Cody asked.
"Don't let the talking Meowth distracted you," said Chloe.
"Who are these people?" Cody asked.
"This is Team Rocket and they are a bunch of bad guys always trying to steal Pokémon," Roan explained.
"You can't do that, give me my Jolteon back," Cody demanded.
"No, because your Jolteon is now our Jolteon," Jessie said in a teasing tone.
"And don't think your Pokémon can escape, this cage is attack proof from inside," Meowth said.
Ash grabbed Rookidee's Pokébal. "But not on the outside and so we will attack there,
I choose you Rookidee," Ash said, summoning Rookidee
"Go Scorbunny and help us get our Pokémon back," Roan said summoning Scorbunny.
"Now Cramorant and defeat those twerps," James said as he summoned his Cramorant.
"Cramorant," quaked Cramorant, as he opened his beak and bit in James' head.
"Ahh, stop doing that," James said.
"Listen up James, get that stupid bird off your head and make sure it doesn't lose again," Jessie.
"I'll do my best," James said.
James managed to get Cramorant off his head. Cramorant walked to the battlefield and faced Rookidee and Scorbunny.
"Rookidee use your POWER TRIP," commanded Ash.
"Here we go, Scorbunny use your TACKLE," commanded Roan.
"Cramorant use your SCALD," James commanded.
Rookidee and Scorbunny headed straight for Cramorant, but he used his Scald attack and hit Rookidee and Scorbunny with the attack.
"Rookidee!" Shouted Ash.
"Oh no Scorbunny! Roan shouted.
"Rookidee are you okay can you continue fighting?" Ash asked.
Rookidee nodded its head. "Rookidee," chirped Rookidee.
"Scorbunny can you go on?" Roan asked.
"Bunny, Scorbunny," Scorbunny squeaked.
"Good, let's get our Pokémon back," Roan said.
"Rookidee use your POWER TRIP again," commanded Ash.
"Scorbunny QUICK ATTACK," commanded Roan.
"Rookidee," chirped Rookidee.
"Scorbunny!" Squeaked Scorbunny.
Rookidee and Scorbunny charged at Cramorant again, but he managed to dodge the attacks.
"Now Cramorant use SCALD again," commanded James.
"Cramorant," quaked Cramorant.
Cramorant turned toward Scorbunny and used his Scald attack against him and Scorbunny was hit hard. Scorbunny was blown away and was thrown against Rookidee, both Pokémon were taken out, no longer being able to fight.
"Rookidee return, thank you for your help, Ash said, calling Rookidee back to its Pokéball.
"Come back and rest well Scorbunny, Roan said calling Scorbunny back to its Pokéball
"Unbelievable that stupid bird has won from those twerp Pokémon," Jessie said.
"Well done Cramorant," James said.
"Cramorant," Cramorant quaked.
"Oh what now? we have no Pokémon left to fight," Chloe said.
"Leave them to me," Cody said.
"Cody?" Ash asked.
"Now!" Cody shouted.
Cody threw a Pokéball and out of its Pokéball came a Toxel.
"He has a Toxel," Chloe said.
"Just like me," Roan said.
"Beating that baby is a breeze," Jessie said.
"Come Cramorant, use your SCALD and blast away that purple baby," James said.
"Cramorant," Cramorant quaked.
Cramorant used his Scald attack again and it went straight for Cody's Toxel.
"Toxel dodge it," Cody commanded.
"Toxel," hissed Toxel.
Toxel lay on his stomach and rolled to the side, avoiding the attack.
"You missed," Meowth said.
"Okay Cramorant, use that big beak of yours and PECK," James commanded.
Cramorant ran towards Toxel ready to attack.
"Grab hold of Cramorant," Cody commanded.
Cody's Toxel grabbed onto Cramorant.
"Okay Toxel use your NUZZLE," Cody commanded.
"Toxel!" Hissed Toxel as it used its Nuzzle attack.
Cramorant was electrocuted by Cody's Toxel and fell down.
"Oh no!" James said, calling Cramorant back to its Pokéball.
"Toxel use ACID on the lock of the cage," Cody commanded.
Toxel used his attack on the lock of the cage and the lock broke allowing Pikachu, Yamper, Toxel and Jolteon.
"Pikachu," Ash said.
"Pika," Pikachu squeaked running to Ash.
"Yamper," Chloe said.
"Yamp, Yamp," barked Yamper jumping into Chloe's arms.
"Toxel I'm so glad you're back," Roan said.
"Toxel," hissed Toxel as he headed towards Roan.
"Are you okay, Jolteon?" Cody asked.
"Jolt," barked Jolteon.
"Now is a good time to go," Meowth.
"Now let's get out of here fast," Jessie said.
"You're not getting away Team Rocket," Ash said.
"You will pay for stealing our Pokémon," Chloe said.
"This doesn't look good for us," said the Team Rocket trio.
"Pikachu THUNDERBOLT!" Commanded Ash.
"Yamper NUZZLE," Chloe commanded.
"Use your NUZZLE Toxel too," Roan commanded.
"Jolteon THUNDERSHOK and Toxel use your NUZZLE," commanded Cody.
The five Pokémon used their Electric attacks and sent them straight at Team Rocket, Team Rocket was hit and shot into the air.
"Oh no another failed plan," James said.
"All because of those little bastards," Jessie said.
"Well, you know what they say," Meowth
"What?" James asked.
"What we always say when this is happening," Meowth said.
"We're blasting off again," screamed Team Rocket.
"Wobbuffet!" Cried Wobbuffet.
Team Rocket had been defeated and everyone was reunited and happy again. And now Ash, Roan and Chloe were saying goodbye to Cody and Jolteon,
"Thank you for all your help Cody," said Chloe.
"Yes, without you we couldn't have defeated Team Rocket and we wouldn't have gotten our Pokémon back," Roan said.
"No problem and I also have to thank you for fighting Grubbin with me and Jolteon," Cody said.
"It was a fun experience," Roan said.
"I have an idea, Why don't you travel with us to Motostoke," Ash suggested. you are going there too, right?
"That's very kind of you to offer, but I'll stay here for a while to do some more training," Cody said.
"Then we'll meet you there," Ash said.
"You got it," Cody said.
"And Cody next time we fight I'll beat you," Ash said.
"Bring it on, looking forward to our next fight," Cody said.
"I wanna have a fight against you too sometime," Roan said.
"Then we'll do that too," Cody said.
"It was nice to meet you Cody," Chloe said.
"You too," Cody said.
"See you soon," Ash said, as he and the rest started to walk
"Pika, pika," squeaked Pikachu, waving Cody and Jolteon goodbye.
"Jolt," barked Jolteon.
"Bye guys," Cody said, as he was heading of into the Wild Area with Jolteon.
Our heroes say goodbye to their new friend Cody for now, but they know they will see each other again soon. And on their way to Motostoke so Ash will be signing up for the Galar-League.
