It was the day after the festival and our heroes were up early. Ash and his friends were at a grass field and training for the rematch against Milo.
"Okay, Ash will you explain to me again what to do? Roan asked.
"You have to use that slingshot to shoot those seeds toward Grookey," Ash explained.
"But why?" Roan asked.
"Just do it," Ash said.
"All right, then," Roan said.
"Keep an eye on Grookey," Ash said.
"Grookey," Grookey chattered.
Roan aimed the slingshot at Grookey and shot the seed at him.
"Wait for it," Ash said.
"Groo," Grookey chattered.
The seed was getting closer and closer.
"Now!" Ash commanded.
"Grookey!" Grookey chattered.
Grookey used his stick and knocked the seed away.
"Yes, it worked," Ash cheered.
"Grookey," Grookey chattered.
"I still don't understand what the point of this is," Roan said.
"This is going to help us against the LEECH SEED," Ash said.
"I think I get it, If the LEECH SEED can't be implanted, it can't steal energy," Chloe said.
"Exactly, Grookey can use his stick to stop the attack," Ash said.
"That's very clever of you, Ash," Chloe said.
"Pika," Pikachu squeaked.
"How did you actually come up with this idea?" Roan asked.
"It was during the festival, when Grookey smashed that Team Rocket apple back at them," Ash said.
"It could work," Chloe said.
"But how are you gonna do it with Rookidee, he doesn't have a stick," Roan pointed out.
"I'm still trying to figure that out," Ash said.
"Rooki," Rookidee chirped.
"Don't worry, Rookidee, we'll figure something out," Ash said.
"Rookidee," Rookidee chirped.
"Let's get back to training," Ash said.
"Grookey," Grookey chattered.
"Rookidee," Rookidee chirped.
"Help us out again, Roan?" Ash said.
"Of course," Roan said.
Ash continued his training with Roan's help.
After training very long and well, Ash decided to stop for today and give his Pokémon some rest.
"You did a great job today Rookidee and Grookey," Ash said.
"Rooki," Rookidee chirped.
"Groo, Grookey," Grookey chattered.
"You guys deserve a good rest," Ash said.
Ash took the Pokéballs of Rookidee and Grookey from his pocket.
"Rookidee, Grookey return," Ash said.
Ash called the two Pokémon back to their Pokéballs and then put them in his pocket.
"How about we also go back to the Pokémon center and rest," Chloe suggested.
"Good idea," Roan said.
The three friends grabbed their bags and walked in the direction of the Pokémon center, on the way they met Milo who was riding his Gogoat and the Wooloo were also walking along.
"Hey Milo," Chloe greeted.
"Oh hey guys," Milo said.
"What are you doing?" Ash asked.
"I'm taking the Wooloo home again, they've had another long day and are going to rest now," Milo said.
"Do you need any help?" Ash asked.
"Is not necessary, but thanks for the offer," Milo said.
Out of nowhere a loud bang was heard, the Wooloo were startled and ran away. Gogoat was startled too and began to prance and threw Milo off his back.
"Ah!" Milo yelled.
"Milo!" Ash said running over to Milo.
"Are you all right?" Roan asked.
"My arm!" Milo said.
"Try to gently help him up," Chloe said.
"My Gogoat, the Wooloo," Milo said.
Ash walked over to the Gogoat, who was still panicking and moving around like crazy.
"Calm down Gogoat," Ash said.
"Go!" Gogoat cried.
"Ash please be careful," Chloe said.
"It's okay, calm down, nothing can happen to you," Ash said.
"Gogoat," Gogoat cried.
Really, trust me, it's going to be okay," Ash said.
Gogoat calmed down and stopped prancing and stood still.
Ash stroked the Gogoat's head. Good job," he said.
"Unbelievable," Milo said in amazment.
"Good job Ash," Roan said.
"But the Wooloo are still gone," Milo said.
"How are we gonna catch them?" Roan asked.
"I have to find them," Milo said.
Milo tried to get up by himself, but the pain in his arm made it impossible.
"My arm," Milo said.
"Milo, you need to stay calm," Chloe said.
"I can't, the Wooloo," Milo said.
"Go!" Gogoat cried as he nudged his head against Ash's back.
"What?" Ash said.
Ash looked at the Gogoat, it got down on its knees and Ash knew what it wanted.
"I'm going after the Wooloo," Ash said.
"How? You're not fast enough on your own," Roan said.
Ash climbed on Gogoat's back. I'm not on my own, Gogoat is going to help me," he said.
"Go, Gogoat" Gogoat cried.
"You help Milo, I'll handle this," Ash said.
"All right," Roan said.
"Pikachu, I could use your help too," Ash said.
"Pika," Pikachu squeaked.
Pikachu went over to Ash and sat on his shoulder.
"Come on we are going to find the Wooloo," Ash said.
"Pika, Pika!" Pikachu squeaked.
Gogoat nodded his head and began to run in side that Wooloo had run up. After a while, they found some of the Wooloo and headed for them.
"Found them," Ash said.
"Pika," Pikachu squeaked.
"Pikachu if the Wooloo want to run away use your THUNDERBOLT and to keep them together,
Pikachu nodded his head. "Pika," he squeaked.
"Come on Gogoat we are going to look for the rest," Ash said.
"Gogoat," Gogoat cried.
Milo's Gogoat ran on through Turffield and after a while they found another pair of Wooloo and headed toward them. The Wooloo joined the rest of the Wooloo. Occasionally a few of the Wooloo tried to escape, but Pikachu carefully used his Thunderbolt to prevent that.
"There straigh ahead, those are the last of them, off you go Gogoat," Ash said.
"Go," Gogoat cried.
The Gogoat went at the Wooloo and they joined the rest and Ash started counting the Wooloo.
"And that makes twenty, we got them all," Ash said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu squeaked.
"Gogoat would you direct to Wooloo to the way home?" Ash asked.
Gogoat nodded his head and escorted the Wooloo but toward Milo's house. Ash put the Wooloo in the meadow, Gogoat went towards his stable and Ash went towards the cottage, he entered the cottage and saw that Chloe was busy putting a sling around Milo's arm.
"Did you do it? Did you get all the Wooloo?" Roan asked.
"Yes and they are now safely in the barn," Ash said. "How is his arm?"
"It's bruised, he has to keep his arm very still not to use it for a while," Chloe said.
"Do you guys know what that bang was yet?" Ash asked.
"Officer Jenny said it was a truck, the driver's okay," Roan said.
"Are my Wooloo really okay?" Milo asked.
"They're really okay Milo," Ash said.
"Thank you," Milo said.
"No problem," Ash said.
Meanwhile, Team Rocket's balloon floated above Milo's home.
"So this is where that farme gym leader lives," Jessie said.
"It looks cozy," James said.
"We're not here for cozy," Jessie said.
"Then what do you wanna do?" James asked.
"How about we steal that Wooloo," Jessie said.
"That's a good idea, Jessie," Meowth said.
"Thank you," Jessie said.
"And do what with the Wooloo?" James asked.
"We're gonna... I don't know that part yet," Jessie said.
"We give them to the boss," Meowth said.
"To the boss?" Jessie and James asekd.
"Yeah, listen this is how I picture it," Meowth said.
Team Rocket fantasy:
Meowth: Imagine the boss is really cranky because he just can't get a good night's sleep, it doesn't matter what how, he just can't get a good night's sleep. Then we give him these Wooloo and because of their soft wool he will fall asleep in no time. And as a bonus, he can start counting them to get to sleep. And then he is so grateful that he says...
Giovanni: Thanks to Meowth and his friends I can now sleep whenever I want and always feel fresh and fruity.
"And thanks to us he will feel that way," Meowth said.
"He will be so grateful to us that he will reward us," Jessie cheered.
"With a promotion," James cheered.
"Hooray!" Team Rocket cheered.
"Wobbuffet," Wobbuffet cried.
A few minutes later, Ash, Roan, Chloe and Milo were sitting at the table and were eating a meal that Chloe had cooked.
"Thank you for the cooking Chloe," Milo said.
"No problem," Chloe said.
"It's very tasty," Milo said.
"Chloe is a good cook," Ash said.
The meal was interrupted by the sound of the Wooloo squawking.
"What's going on?" Roan asked.
"It's the Wooloo," Milo said.
"Let's see what's going on," Ash said.
Ash, Roan, Chloe and Milo walked outside and saw that the Wooloo were running away. Then a big robot arrived, using its mechanical hands to pick up the Wooloo one by one and put them in a bag.
"What is that?" Milo asked.
"Not what, but who," Roan said.
"And I already know who's behind it," Ash said.
The robot stopped and its face opened and Team Rocket was inside.
"Prepare for trouble!" Jessie said.
"And make it double!" James said.
"To protect the world from devastation!" Jessie said.
"To unite all people within our nation!" James said.
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!" Jessie said.
"To extend our reach to the stars above!" James said.
"Jessie!" Jessie said.
"And James!" James said.
"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!" Jessie said.
"Surrender now or prepare for a fight!" James said.
"Meowth! That's right!" Meowth said.
"Wobbuffet!" Cried Wobbuffet.
"Ah no, not you guys again," Milo said.
"I knew it was you guys," Ash said.
"What are you up to with that Wooloo?" Chloe asked.
"They will be a gift for our boss, so that he can get a good night's sleep," Jessie said.
"What?" Ash asked.
"I don't get it," Roan said.
"I never get their plans," Chloe said.
"And as a bonus for us," Jessie said.
Jessie pressed the button and the mechanical hand moved toward Ash and grabbed Pikachu off his shoulder and put him in the bag with the Wooloo
"Pikachu! Ash shouted.
"And because we know you tweros so well, we also have something for you," Jessie said as she grabbed Hatenna's Pokéball from her pocket and throw it. "Now Hatenna!"
"Hatenna," Hatenna cried.
"You go Cramorant too!" James said.
James threw Cramorant's Pokéball, but instead of landing next to Hatenna, it bit down on James' head.
"Not me, attack those twerps," James said.
Cramorant released James and landed next to Hatenna.
"You take care of the tweprs, while we'll go get some more Wooloo," Jessie said.
"Bye-bye!" Team Rocket said.
Team Rocket took off again.
"My Wooloo," Milo said, trying to chase after Team Rocket, but his arm was still in too much pain. "My arm."
"Milo look out!" Chloe said.
"Scorbunny and Toxel go," Roan said as he summonded his Pokémon.
"Scorbunny," Scorbunny squeaked.
"Toxel," Toxel hissed.
"Roan what are you doing?" Chloe asked.
"Go after Team Rocket, I'll take care of these two," Roan said.
"Okay, be careful Roan," Ash said.
While Roan and his Pokémon got ready to battle Team Rocket's Pokémon, Ash and Chloe started running after the robot.
"How are we going to stop that machine Ash?" Chloe asked.
"I don't know yet," Ash said.
"Gogoat!" Gogoat cried.
Ash and Chloe turned around and saw Gogoat coming running, at full speed he used Take Down against of the robot's legs, causing it to start losing balance. Then Gogoat used Razor Leaf and shredded the bag, Pikachu and the Wooloo were freed.
"Pika, Pi," Pikachu squeaked.
"Pikachu," Ash said.
"Good job Gogoat!" Chloe said.
"Gogoat," Gogoat cried.
The robot's head opened and Team Rocket did not look happy. Hatenna and Cramorant came flying in and landed in the robot's cockpit. Jessie and James looked at their Pokémon and saw that they were both unconscious.
"But how?" James asked.
Roan came running in with Scorbunny and Toxel. "It wasn't that hard," he said.
"Pikachu and the Wooloo were free," Chloe said.
"Great," Roan said.
"Pikachu go ahead," Ash said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Now Pikachu use THUNDERBOLT," Ash commanded.
"Pikachu," Pikachu cried.
"Yamper use NUZZLE," Chloe commanded.
"Yamper," Yamper cried.
"You too Toxel, use NUZZLE," Roan commanded.
"Toxel," Toxel cried.
Pikachu jumped off Ash's shoulder and used Thunderbolt and Yamper and Toxel used their attacks and together it became a powerful attack that hit Team Rocket's robot. The robot exploded and Team Rocket shot into the air.
"No seet dreams for us," James said.
"Just this recurring dream over and over again," Jessie said.
"More like a nightmare," Meowth said.
"We're blasting off again," Team Rocket yelled.
"Wobbuffet," Wobbuffet cried.
A few days later and Milo's arm was fully healed again and now it was time for the rematch between Ash and Milo.
"So Ash are you ready for the rematch?" Milo asked.
"Totally, you better watch out, Milo we have become stronger," Ash said.
"I'm looking forward to fighting you again, Milo said.
"Once I do the Wooloo mission, you'll see how hard we've been training, Ash said.
"That won't be necessary," Milo said.
"What do you mean?" Ash asked.
"The gym mission," Milo said.
"But I need to do it in order to fight you," Ash said.
"But you did something way harder by getting my Wooloo to safety, that was much harder than the Gym Mission," Milo said.
"So that means?" Ash asked.
"That we go straight to the gym battle," Milo asked.
"Alright," Ash said.
"Pika, pika," Pikachu squeaked.
"Let's get go for it," Ash said.
"That's the spirit," Milo said.
Pikachu went over to Roan's shoulder and together they headed toward the audience with Chloe and her Yamper. And Ash and Milo walked right up to the battlefield.
"Don't think I'm going to make it easy for you just because you helped my Wooloo," Milo said.
"I won't even want that, I want to earn my badge fair, a fair fight," Ash said.
"I appreciate that Ash, I really do," Milo said.
"You can do it Ash!" Roan cheered.
"We're here to cheer you!" Chloe cheered.
"Pi, Pika, Pikachu!" Pikachu cheered.
"Yamp, Yamper!" Yamper cheered.
"Thank you guys," Ash said.
"Ready to battle?" Milo asked.
"Totally," Ash said.
"The rematch between Ash and Milo will now begin, the rules are the same as last time, only the challenger may switch and the fight is over if a trainer has no more Pokémon to fight. Choose your Pokémon."
Milo pulled a Pokéball out of his pocket. "Okay, Applin go for it," he said.
"Applin," Applin cried.
"Rookidee I choose you!" Ash said as he summonded Rookidee
"Rookidee!" Rookidee chirped.
"Let the battle begin!"
"Ash you may make the first move again," Milo said.
"Okay Rookidee use QUICK ATTACK!" Ash commanded.
Rookidee flew towards Applin with a good speed.
"Jump up to dodge attack," Milo commanded.
"Follow Applin and use PECK," Ash commanded.
Applin jumped up but Rookidee was right behind him and used his attack.
"App!" Applin cried.
"Oh no, Applin," Milo said.
"That was a great hit," Roan said.
"Ash is off to a great start," Chloe said.
"Applin get up and use ROLLOUT," Milo commanded.
"Quick dodge it Rookidee," Ash commanded.
Rookidee quickly dodged Applin's attack.
"Quick use PECK again," Ash commanded.
"Dodge and use SUCKER PUNCH," Milo commanded.
Applin managed to dodge the attack and used Sucker Punch on Rookidee.
"Rooki!" Rookidee cried.
"Oh no, Rookidee," Ash said. "Are you okay?"
Rookidee nodded his head. "Rookidee," he chirped.
"All right then, use your QUICK ATTACK," Ash commanded.
"Applin use your ROLLOUT," Milo commanded.
Both Pokémon used their attacks and went at each other, hitting each other and taking damage.
"Rookidee can you keep going?" Ash asked.
"Rooki," Rookidee chirped as he nodded his head.
"Applin do you still have enough energy?" Milo asked.
"Applin," Applin cried.
"Okay, Rookidee use your PECK," Ash commanded.
"Applin SUCKER PUNCH," Milo commanded.
Both Pokémon came at each other and hit each other with their attack, both Rookidee and Applin were still standing, but after a few seconds they both fell to the ground and were knocked out.
Both Rookidee and Applin are unable to battle, both trainers both having one Pokémon left.
"It's a tie," Roan said.
"Now anything can happen," Chloe said.
"Pika," Pikachu squeaked.
Ash returned Rookidee to its Pokéball. "Thank you Rookidee," he said.
Ash looked over to Milo who called Applin back to its Pokéball and then grabbed another Pokéball with it and Ash grabbed Grookey's Pokéball with it.
"Now Grookey I choose you!" Ash said.
"Eldegoss now!" Milo said.
"Grookey," Grookey chattered.
"Eldegoss," Eldegoss cried.
"Okay Grookey use SCRATCH!" Ash commanded.
"Grookey," Grookey chattered.
Grookey ran towards Eldegoss ready to attack.
"Dodge it," Milo said.
Eldegoss was about to dodge the attack, but Grookey was faster and used Scratch on Eldegoss' face.
"Yes, Grookey got him," Chloe said.
"Well done," Roan said.
"Pika, pika," Pikachu squeaked.
"Yamp," Yamper barked.
"Eldegoss, are you all right?" Milo asked.
Eldegoss nodded with it's head. "Elde, Eldegoss"
"Use LEECH SEED," Milo commanded.
"Eldegoss," Eldegoss cried.
"Get ready for it Grookey," Ash said.
"Grookey," Grookey chattered.
Grookey grabbed his stick and stood ready. Eldegoss used Leech Seed and fired it at Grookey and it was getting closer and closer, but Grookey just stood stil and wait for Ash to give him to order.
"Now!" Ash commanded.
"Grookey," Grookey chattered.
Grookey swung his stick and knocked the seed away, this action surprised both Milo and Eldegoss.
"What?" Milo asked.
"Elde?" Eldegoss cried.
"It worked," Roan said.
"Now they won't have to worry about that LEECH SEED anymore," Chloe said.
"Ash now has a real chance to win," Roan said.
"Go for it Ash!" Chloe cheered.
"Pika, pika," Pikachu squeaked.
"Well done," Grookey, Ash said.
"Groo, Grookey," Grookey chattered.
"That was great action, but this battle is far from over," Milo said.
Milo activatice his Dynamax band, Milo called Eldegoss back to the Pokéball and Dynamaxed it.
"Whoa," Ash said.
"Grookey," Grookey chattered.
"Use MAX FLUTTERBY!" Milo commanded.
Eldegoss used Max Flutterby and it all went so fast that Grookey had no time to react and was hit and had received a lot of damage.
"Grookey," Grookey cried.
"Oh no, Grookey," Ash said.
"Groo," Grookey chattered softley.
"Grookey are you okay?" Ash asked.
Grookey stood up and nodded his head. "Grookey," he chattered.
"What do you say, ready to make this an even battle?" Ash asked.
"Grookey," Grookey chattered.
Ash also activated his Dynamax band, he retrieved Grookey back to his Pokéball and Dynamaxed him.
"Cool," Roan said.
"A Dynamax versus Dynamax gym battle, very interesting," Chloe said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu squeaked.
"Yamper," Yamper barked.
"How do you feel Grookey?" Ash asked.
"Groo, Grookey," chattered Grookey giving Ash a thumbs up.
"Ready to keep the fight going?" Milo asked.
"Yes, bring it," Ash said.
"Eldegoss use MAX FLUTTERBY again!" Milo commanded.
"Eldegoss," Eldegoss cried.
"Grookey try to dodge the attack," Ash commanded.
"Grookey," Grookey cried.
Grookey nodded his head and dodged Eldegoss' attack just in time.
"Grookey use MAX STRIKE!" Ash commanded.
Grookey used Max Strike and hit Eldegoss.
"Eldegoss use MAX OVERGROWTH," Milo commanded.
"You too Grookey, use MAX OVERGROWTH," Ash commanded.
Both Pokémon used Max Overgrowth on each other, but it didn't do much. Eldegoss changed back again.
"What has happened?" Roan asked.
"Eldegoss has no more turns, the Dynamax has worked out on him," Chloe said.
"But Grookey is still in his Dynamax status," Roan said.
"Because he was Dynamaxed later than Eldegoss, Chloe explained.
"So that's how it works," Roan said.
"Okay, Grookey, this is our chance to finish this, use MAX STRIKE!" Ash commanded.
"Grookey!" Grookey chattered.
Grookey used Max Strike again and hit Eldegoss and the whole field covered with dust. When the dust cleared, Ash saw that Grookey had changed back and Eldegoss was knocked out on the ground.
"Eldegoss is unable to battle, Gym Leader Milo has no Pokémon left, which means victory goes to challenger Ash."
"Yes, we won!" Ash cheered.
"Grookey," Grookey cheered.
Ash and Grookey ran toward each other, the grass Pokémon jumping into Ash's arms. Ash held Grookey up and spun around with him.
"You did it Grookey!" Ash said.
"Groo, Grookey!" Grookey cheered.
Ash turned to the crowd and saw that his friends and his Pikachu were clapping for him.
"Well done Ash," Chloe said.
"Congratulations! Roan said.
"Pikachu! Pikachu cheered.
"Yamp, Yamp, Yamper, Yamper cheered.
A few moments later Ash, Roan and Chloe were standing outside the Gym, Ash's Pokémon standing next to him. Milo walked up to Ash and shook his hand.
That was a good fight," Milo said.
Yeah, I thought so too," Ash said.
And that's why you have won this badge fair and square," Milo said.
Milo handed Ash the Grass Badge. Ash got a smile on his face.
"Yes, I won my first badge!" Ash cheered.
"Pi, pikachu!" Pikach cheered.
"Rooki!" Rookidee cheered.
"Groo, grookey!" Grookey cheered.
Ash has now won his first Gym Badge, but still has a long way to go before he can join the Galar-League, will he manage to win the rest of badges?
