### Chapter Ten: The Lone Search
The lacrosse game was a bittersweet event. Our team's victory was overshadowed by Stiles's absence, his empty spot on the bench a silent testament to his importance. I couldn't help but feel concerned for him, knowing how much he had looked forward to the game. The thought of him missing this moment, especially in light of our victory, weighed heavily on me.
Unable to bear the tension between Jackson and Scott any longer, I made a decision. I slipped away unnoticed, avoiding my father's protective gaze. Finding Stiles became my singular focus; the need to ensure his safety overpowered everything else. Jackson's cruel jibes at Scott only fuelled my urgency.
My search for Stiles was fruitless, but strangely, I felt a sense of calm. Something deep within me knew he wasn't in danger, a small consolation in the midst of uncertainty. However, my attempt to locate him was not entirely uneventful.
A mundane school day lay ahead, the gang weren't in any of my classes today, but it was on the way to school that proved most interesting. Jackson sped past me in his Porsche, I followed. I overheard the incident with Jackson's car — a malicious act I immediately knew my father was behind, only to be confirmed when he appeared moment later, closely followed by Stiles' Jeep. What troubled me more was Scott's palpable concern for Stiles. It was clear he was privy to some development, some piece of the puzzle I was missing. The realization that I was out of the loop on matters concerning Stiles was frustrating.
As I'd though, the day passed without incident. Again, everyone had been remarkably absent, only fuelling my theory I was falling further out of the loop. Perhaps it was time to include myself, weather they like it or not? Confess to Allison I already know our families secret, tell her what I know. Tell Scott I know he's a werewolf, and that Stiles had been keeping his secret. Perhaps then I could help. My efforts to find Scott, Stiles, and Allison proved futile. They were nowhere to be found, a fact that left me feeling isolated and disconnected. With a heavy heart, I returned home, resigned to spend another evening alone with my thoughts.
It was then I overheard a conversation that chilled me to the bone. Kate, ever the hunter, had tracked down the wolves. Her intentions were clear — she was planning a strike. The stakes were higher than ever, and I knew immediate action was required.
In a moment of desperation, I offered my services to Kate. It was a dangerous game, but I believed that by being there, I could influence the outcome, prevent any loss of life. My heart was torn — between my loyalty to my family and the unspoken bond I felt with Stiles, Scott, and Allison. The decision to work with Kate was fraught with risk, but it was a risk I was willing to take if it meant protecting those who mattered most.
As I prepared to join Kate in her hunt, my mind raced with possibilities and fears. The night ahead was uncertain, and the lines between friend and foe were blurred. For me, Andrew Argent, this was a pivotal moment. A step into the darkness with the hope of bringing light. The knowledge that Stiles, Scott, and Allison were out there, potentially in harm's way, propelled me forward. I was determined to do whatever it took to ensure their safety, even if it meant standing against my own family.
