(Wiz and Boomstick - Official Death Battle Theme Song)
Adam: Spinosaurus, Jurassic Park 3's Spined Lizard prowling the waters of Isla Sorna.
Randy: Giganotosaurus, the Giant Southern Lizard seeking Dominion within the Jurassic World.
Adam: T-Rex may have been the most famous dinosaur, but these two titans have shown to be capable of dethroning the dinosaur king in their debut. But against each other, who will triumph? For this battle, we'll only be analyzing these dinosaurs from the Jurassic Park franchise and other closely tied media like Camp Cretaceous.
Randy: He's Adam and I'm Randy.
Adam: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win... a DEATH BATTLE.
Spinosaurus prowls the water in Isla Sorna for a DEATH BATTLE
(Spinosaurus Confrontation - (Jurassic Park 3 Complete Score))
Adam: When the divorced Paul and Amanda Kirby's son Eric and Amanda's boyfriend Ben Hildebrand went missing after parasailing through the waters of Isla Sorna and their government refused to help, they deceived Dr. Alan Grant, a paleontologist who witness the collapse of the original Jurassic Park in Isla Nublar, into giving them an illegal aerial tour in Sorna after Paul planned to fund Grant's velociraptor research which he reluctantly accepted.
Randy: Of course it was all a lie when Paul wants them to land which hired mercenary Cooper knocks outs a protesting Grant as it was really a search and rescue effort for Eric. But things took a turn for the worse when they were attacked by a sailed theropod which killed Cooper and Nash. Turns out it was a Spinosaurus, something that Grant and his assistant Billy Brennan weren't aware of being in InGen's list.
Adam: And one that was determined to kill them at all costs until it was driven away by fire. But this wasn't the end as Kash D. Langford managed to relocated the Spinosaurus in the Mantah Corp Island to see how long it can survive the harsh heat of the desert biome, just in time to encounter Darius Bowman and other campers who escaped Isla Nublar following the events of Jurassic World.
Spinosaurus
Long arms
Sail
Superhuman strength, speed and durability
Superhuman stamina
Teeth
Long snout
Adam: Now to be clear, Spinosaurus' size, appearance and diet have differed over the years with each discovery, going from bipedal to quadrupedal and back, as well as being a land predator to semi-aquatic to full-on water hunter. However, since Jurassic Park III was made with very limited knowledge of Spinosaurus at the time, and Camp Cretaceous still using the same structure even after years of new research, we're going with the Jurassic Park version.
Randy: Jurassic Park's Spinosaurus is 100% pure carnivore standing at 20 ft tall, 43.8 ft long and weighing 10 tons in Camp Cretaceous, as well as going up to 27 mph. In addition to having a long snout filled with sharp teeth design to grab unto prey, he's also got long arms to reach and tear apart an unfortunate victim with those huge claws and a a sturdy tail to slam into anyone stupid enough to get in its way. Oh and he's also a great swimmer.
Adam: And while he's mostly seen on walking on two legs, the Spinosaurus can crawl on all fours if it needed to. And a high tolerance to heat after being transferred in desert biome.
Feats
Fought and killed a young bull T-Rex
Ripped through part of a plane
Killed numerous men
Snapped the T-Rex's neck and then tossed its dead body to the ground
Charged through a steel fence
More built for speed and faster than a T-rex (According to the movie's SFX crew)
Burst through a wall
Grabbed the BRAD-X in its jaws, smashed it to the ground and stomped on it
Took a direct bite to the neck from the T-Rex and received only skin deep injuries
Implied to have survived heavy gunfire
Engulfed by fire and was only frightened away by it
Survived being grazed by a plane
Tanked a bolt of lightning from BRAD-X
Lived on Isla Sorna up until adulthood
Attacked Kenji, Brooklynn, Yasmina, Sammy and Ben
Killed a Smilodon that was trying to kill the campers
Was able to drag Big Eatie to the ground by pulling her by the tail
Managed to hold onto Big Eatie's neck without the use of its arms
Nearly crushed Big Eatie's neck in its jaws
Took several bites from Big Eatie
Was bitten on the sail by two raptors and was fine
Got whacked across the face by a Kentrosaurus, sending it falling into the water
Took a kick from Big Eatie that knocked it over
Got rammed into a massive tree
Was shoved with such force that its body rolled across the ground for a split moment, and this didn't break its spine somehow
Randy: Spinosaurus proved to be a formidable dinosaur to be crossed with. It's strong enough to bust down metal gates with ease, having been chipped in the sail by a plane, and even took a hit from a Kentrosaurus in the face. But then there's the Spino's famous feat, killing a T-Rex, aka the icon of the series.
Randy: But hey, that's only a subadult T-Rex so Spino's only killed a dinosaur smaller than him right?
Adam: Except in Camp Cretaceous, Spino fought Big Eatie, a fully grown Tyrannosaurus, and won. And even survived being shot by a bolt of lightning from a BRAD-X. Hell, he's survived getting bit multiples times on his neck and a T-Rex's bite is no joke.
Popup: Assuming Big Eatie is similar to the scientifically accurate T-Rex, her bite force would be at 12,800 psi or 5.7 tons.
Randy: Heck, Big Eatie once flipped him over on his sail and he got up just fine, despite the fact fact that it's part of his vertebrae.
Adam: There's actually a misconception that breaking the sail would kill the Spinosaurus like the show Monsters Resurrected has claimed, but is proven to be false. Though whether Jurassic Park's version follows the same analogy remains unknown.
Weaknesses
Couldn't bring down doors...
Failed to kill Dr. Grant and the survivors
The sail is a giant target
Its jaws and teeth weren't designed to crush bone like T-Rex, rather grip prey
Fire can frighten it away
No defense against ranged attacks aside from durability
Only an animal in terms of intellect
Susceptible to mind control
Was unwilling to fight two T-Rexes at once (after being released from mind control, likely due to confusion)
Adam: But even T-Rex killers have their weak points. Most obvious is that his jaws aren't designed to crush bones the same way a T-Rex's jaws is, with his being more specifically made to grip prey. And while his arms do provide a range advantage, they can be bitten into and render that his arms neutralized.
Randy: Fire is can also scare Spinosaurus away like it did in JP3. And while he did hold his own against Big Eatie and won, he wussed out the moment he's faced with her and Little Eatie. Though is likely came down from being freed from mind control.
Adam: But make no mistake, this Spinosaurus has cemented its place as one of Jurassic Park's most recognizable dinosaurs. After all, it's not every day that they introduced a dinosaur who straight up killed one of the most famous dinosaurs and mascot of the franchise.
The subadult T-Rex slams into the Spinosaurus, but the spiny lizard recovers faster and bites down unto his neck. The T-Rex roars in pain as the Spinosaurus uses his clas to overpower him before snapping his neck, killing him.
Grant, Billy, Udesky, Amanda and Paul runs away as the body of the subadult T-Rex falls to the ground, with Grant barely dodging in time, as they flee from the Spinosaurus. The Spinosaurus puts his claws over his dead rival and roars in victory.
Giganotosaurus seeks World Dominion on DEATH BATTLE
(Giganotosaurus Theme Soundtrack - Jurassic World Dominion (2022))

Adam: Four years after events of Fallen Kingdom, where Isla Nublar was destroyed by a volcanic eruption, the captured dinosaurs being sold to the black market and the birth of the Indoraptor, dinosaurs now roamed the Earth after being released from the cages.
Randy: Since the, dinosaurs and humans co-existed peacefully, willing to share their worlds as one and everything was great. There was nothing wrong and...
Adam and Randy:*Bursts out laughing*
Adam: *Wipes away tears* Oh, oh. I'm sorry. We couldn't help ourselves. Co-existing peacefully? Pfft, yeah right.
Randy: No shit, dinosaurs are killing humans and animals alike. It was pure pandemonium as humans struggled with their everyday lives living with these thought-extinct creatures. In an effort to control them, InGen's rival Biosyn created preserves for them in Italy. But anyone who's watched sci-fi enough movies can tell you that there's something fishy about this organization.
Adam: Turns out they were illegally breeding dinosaurs and even kidnapped Maisie Lockwood due to her being a clone. If they weren't dick moves enough, they were also responsible for creating giant locusts that destroyed U.S crops and stole the main focus away from the dinosaurs.
Randy: Yeesh, you don't to go that far Adam.
Adam: As far as I'm concerned, a lot of Jurassic Park fans agree with me. Anyways, after gathering enough evidence to expose Biosyn, Owen, Grant and the others were then confronted by the "final" boss of the series, a Giganotosaurus.
Giganotosaurus
Large, thick, serrated teeth
Strong jaws with some of the cutting power of the real-life Giganotosaurus as well as the crushing of a Tyrannosaurus
Large foot claws able to pierce into flesh and tear muscles
Adam: This Giganotosaurus stand at 18.1 ft tall, weighing in at 9 tons over and is a staggering 51 ft long, Jurassic World's version is far bigger compared to the real one. It has a sharp teeth designed to slice flesh apart and, though still possesses short arms, has three claws ready to grip prey as it makes the killing blow.
Randy: It's also capable of running 30 mph. But what made this Giganotosaurus stand out from the original is the unique row of spikes or osteoderms, which acts as some sort protection around its neck.
Feats
Killed a T-Rex easily in prehistoric times and defeated it easily again twice in modern times
Survived the inside of its jaws being burnt and was completely fine afterwards
Withstood the force of Rexy biting his neck and without bleeding unlike the Indominus Rex, Rexy's bite force is 34,500 Newtons in canon
Took electricity in its eye and was still fine
Kept fighting even when it was being teamed on
Survived the Therizinosaurus clawing his face with all three claws (Its claws were able to hold the Giganotosaurus when Rexy/Roberta pushed the Giganotosaurus in its claws, the Giganotosaurus weighs 11 tons. So Therizinosaurus lifting the Giganotosaurus proves how strong its claws are)
Was strong enough to rule as the apex predator of the BioSyn sanctuary for a period of time
Defeated the T-Rex pair (Buck & Doe) in a 2v1 (Offscreen)
Adam: Giganotosaurus is a formidable carnivore to encounter. It is shown to be capable of going to going with fully grown T-Rexes, killing one in the and besting Rexy twice in the modern era. And keep in mind the bite force of an adult T-Rex sits at 5.7 tons.
Randy: It was capable of crushing metal railings with its teeth and tough enough being slashed in the face by a Therizinosaurus' claws, which was capable of yeeting a deer with ease. It was even stabbed in the eye with a taser and it only caused pain than blindness.
Weaknesses
Not very intelligent
Its recklessness lead to its death by Rexy and Therizinosaurus
Sometimes unable to make quick choices
Was hurt by a burning giant locust thrust into his mouth by Malcolm
Has no human victims, making Giganotosaurus the only Jurassic Park/World main villain with the lowest kill
Randy: But what this guy has in brawns, he sorely lacks in brains. He's not the brightest tool in the shed.
Adam: We're trying to be nice, but we can't help but notice how dumb this thing is. Like when it confronted Owen and the others. Rather than outright attacking them, the Giganotosaurus instead took its time circling and roaring at them as he followed their every move. Only when Maisie was the last to climb the ladder to the observation tower did this thing finally attacked.
Randy: And recall the time when he was faced with both the Therizinosaurus and a recovering Rexy. It was unable to determine who was the bigger threat, which distracted it long enough for Rexy to push the Giganotosaurus into the Therizinosaurus' claws, impaling it and causing his demise.
Adam: But even with its flaws, Giganotosaurus is considered one of the biggest menaces in the Jurassic World.
Owen and the others looked on in shock and surprise as a giant theropod emerged from the woods and devours of one of the burning locusts.
Ellie: What is that?
Grant: Giganotosaurus. Biggest carnivore the world has ever seen.
As if making a demonstration, the giant southern lizard rears his head up and roars.
Adam: All right, the combatants are set. Let's end this debate once and for all.
Adam and Randy: It's time... For a DEATH BATTLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Biosyn Research Facility
Ellie, Grant and Malcolm froze in fear as the Giganotosaurus, victorious over Rexy and nearly crushing Owen and the others beneath the sheet of metal top where Rexy laid on, turns to them and roars, with the sole mission of killing them.
Kayla Watts, who was on the helicopter, sees this and grabs a flare gun and fires a shot, intent on distracting it. However, as the Giganotosaurus turns to follow the light, it landed near the forest where a huge silhouette of another dinosaur is illuminated. The Giganotosaurus narrows his eyes and growls as the unknown creature makes his way towards him .
(Immovable Object - Brandon Yates)
This gave Maisie and the others previous time as they escaped into the helicopter. Once near enough, a bright light the dinosaur's full image, it was a Spinosaurus. It escaped the Mantah Corp Island all those years ago and found residence here. It was attracted into the facility due to the sound of Giganotosaurus and Rexy fighting.
The two giant theropods began circling each other, trying to either intimidate their opponent for looking for a weakness to exploit while the humans watched from above on the helicopter. Eventually both carnivore decided it was go time and gave their iconic roars.
Spinosaurus: GRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!
Giganotosaurus: GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
FIGHT!
Giganotosaurus fires the first shot by charging with his jaws open, but Spinosaurus sidesteps the attack and counterattacks with a body slam, staggering his rival to the side. The Giganotosaurus recovers and returns a body slam of his own, though the Spino's greater weight meant he was only pushed back.
Spinosaurus: GRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!
The spiny lizard lunges forward and bites into Giga's face, drawing blood as his rival winces in pain. Eventually, the giant southern lizard retaliates by breaking free of the Spinosaurus' jaws and delivers a headbutt, stunning his opponent. This gives the Giga the time to spin and smack his tail into the Spino' face, knocking him into metal pole which he topples over.
Giganotosaurus: GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
The Giganotosauru charges forward with the intent on ending his opponent with one bite to the throat. But the taller sailed theropod recovers with astonishing speed and claws the left side of the Giga, causing three slash marks with blood seeping out from the wounds.
Giganotosaurus: GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
Enraged, the Giga finally bites into the Spino's neck and began bashing him against the metal billboard. The Spinosaurus roars in pain from the impacts. Before the giant southern lizard could bash him again, the Spino breaks free and slashes the leg, forcing the Giganotosaurus to back off a bit.
The Giga tries to bite again, but the Spinosaurus sidesteps again. But this time, Spinosaurus opens his jaws and clamps down in the Giganotosaurus' neck. Now it was his turn as he slams his struggling opponent against the metal pole he'd been slammed against. The Giga tries to claws at him, but the distance was just too far for him to deal damage.
Wanting to end this, the Spinosaurus tries to perform his iconic T-Rex killer move by snapping the neck. However, the thick osteoderms from his neck renders the Spinosaurus unable to get a good grip with his larger claws even as he tries to pin the Giganotosaurus down. Sensing what he's about to do, the Giga whips his head side to side, causing the Spino to release his hold on the giant southern lizard which to bite on his neck again.
Spinosaurus: GRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!
The spiny lizard roars in pain as the Giganotosaurus bites down even harder while using momentum to topple the metal billboard, causing the Spinosaurus land on top of it. The Spino is great pain as he laid there.
Giganotosaurus: GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
The Giganotosaurus walks over to the fallen Spinosaurus and stomps on his chest, making him groan in pain. Feeling smug, he looks above and roars at the stunned people in the helicopter, as if taunting them that the Spinosaurus will suffer the same fate as Rexy. However as he leans down to crush his opponent's neck, the Spinosaurus lashes out by slashing his right side of his face, catching him off-guard.
Giganotosaurus: GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
The giant outhern lizard retracts his foot from the Spinosaurus as he writhes in pain, that last attack nearly slashed his eye. This gave the Spino time to recover and get up and whacks his tail into the Giganotosaurus' face, knocking him down. The spiny lizard remembers the osteoderm preventing him from using his kill move so he tries a different method.
Getting up back after that surprise tail whip, the Giganotosaurus turns to see the Spinosaurus retreating into the forest. Not wanting to see his opponent live another day, the Giganotosaurus follows after him. Kayla and the others follow them in the helicopter, though only fixating their light in the Giga.
After a minute of chasing the Spinosaurus, the Giganotosaurus winds up near a lake, with the Spinosaurus nowhere in sight, but his nose picks up the scent. The Spino was here, very close. Just out of sight. As the Giga turns his head to the side, a sail emerges from the water before submerging again.
He gets a whiff of the scent and and follow it near the water. Eyes narrow, he leans closer to the water, wondering if the Spino had simply fallen and drowned as result. Snorting, the Giga leans his head up-
SPLASH!
Spinosaurus: GRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!
- Only for the Spinosaurus to lunge out of the water and bite at the Giga's throat.
Giganotosaurus: GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
The giant southern lizard roars as desperately claws the ground beneath him, trying to avoid getting dragged in the waters by the Spinosaurus. Even resorting to clawing the Spino's face, nearly slashing one of his eyes. But the Spinosaurus counters by using his longer arms to reach one of the Giganotosaurus' leg and scratches down, scoring a deep gash which bleed profusely and nearly crippling.
Unable to stand on an injured leg, the Giganotosaurus roars as he lost his footing and was pulled into the waters by the spiny lizard. Bubbles emerged from the surface as the fight took place underwater, but the humans didn't know who was winning. The bubbles stopped rising and they waited with baited breaths, unsure who won.
After a tense minute of silence, the water erupts and the Spinosaurus emerges from it, injured but alive. Moments later, the Giganotosaurus floats up but is clearly dead as the current drags his body downstream. Making his way on the other side of the lake, the Spino looks back and sees his rival's body floating away. He rears his head up and roars in victory.
Spinosaurus: GRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!
KO!
* The Spinosaurus walks away as the Giganotosaurus' body disappears from the water.
* Rexy wakes up from her slumber, confused as to where the Giganotosaurus is while Grant and the others watched her from above.
Results
(Immovable Object again)
Randy: And that right there folks, is how you make an awesome dino fight!
Adam: At first glance, Spino and Giga could match each other in several ways. Both tanked electrical attacks and have shrugged off bites to their neck by fully grown T-Rexes, and given both had weaker bite forces compared to them it would have the same results. Both also can also throw their weight so trying to flip each other is not gonna be easy.
Popup: The Giganotosaurus technically has better gripping and slicing teeth than the Spinosaurus. However, given their hides were tough enough to tank an adult T-Rex's bite, it's practically a non-factor.
Randy: But the Spinosaurus' longer arms meant he could keep his distance. Sure the Giga's claws could still deal damage, but it would have to get up close if he manages to dodge the Spinosaurus' bite which would put him at risk of being slashed by those far deadlier claws.
Adam: To be fair, the osteoderms on Giganotosaurus' neck meant Spino is unable to get a good grip and perform its iconic killing move and given it it was only nearly two feet short of the Spinosaurus unlike the subadult one it killed, Spinosaurus would have a hard time using his move against a dinosaur as large as himself.
Popup: It's very unlikely Jurassic Park's Spinosaurus possesses the same weakness of being killed by breaking the sail as Monsters Resurrected claimed. And even if Giganotosaurus did bite it, the more accurate research depicts that it will only cause pain but not instant death.
Randy: So given both have tough hides durable enough to tank the other's bite, Spinosaurus having longer arms but Giganotosaurus has some protection from his neck, it ultimately came down to who can go for the vulnerable throat to end the fight. Which means one of them has needs to be smart enough to do that.
Adam: Let's take a look when they were outnumbered; Spino going up against Little and Big Eatie versus Giga going up against Rexy and Therizinosaurus. Both are able to best a fully grown T-Rex before, but are unable to challenge two dinosaurs at once. However, while the Spinosaurus retreated because it was recently freed from mind control, the Giganotosaurus was killed because he was unable to make a choice on who's the bigger threat between Rexy and the Therizinosaurus.
Randy: What this means is that the Spinosaurus has some ability to assess a situation and determine if it was worth risking hif life, something the Giganotosaurus in Dominion was unable to do. It shows that Spino will be able to plan an attack and go for the throat, even crippling the Giga in the process by attacking the legs since his longer arms can reach it without running the risk of getting too close to the Giga's own claws.
Adam: And it goes without saying that should this fight take place in water, the Giganotosaurus is doomed as Spinosaurus is shown to be capable of attacking in water as effectively as it does on land. While they possess similar durability and can shrug off each other's bite. But though the osteoderms can provide some protection, the Spinosaurus' longer arms and greater intelligence were just enough to claim victory over the Giganotosaurus.
Randy: You could say that Spino held absolute Dominion over the Giga's World.
Adam: The winner is the Spinosaurus.
COMPARISON
Spinosaurus
+ Smarter
+ Longer arms
+ Superior fighter in water combat
= Able to shrug off the Giganotosaurus' bite
= Equal durability
- Osteoderms prevents the Spino from performing its signature move
Giganotosaurus
+ Osteoderms prevents the Spino from performing its signature move
= Able to shrug off the Spinosaurus' bite
= Equal durability
- Less intelligent
- Short arms
* The connections between the Spinosaurus and the Giganotosaurus is that both are live-action, antagonistic movie dinosaurs that were introduced in the third installment of their series (Jurassic Park 3 and Jurassic World Dominion respectively), who were created by rivaling companies specialized in creating dinosaurs (InGen and Biosyn respectively). Both are large theropods with three fingered claws, narrowed head with sharp teeth, a "sail" on their backs and are considered to be bigger than the famous Tyrannosaurus Rex
* Both have lived around 99 million years ago during the Late Cretaceous period in different stages (Spinosaurus lived in the upper Turonian era while the Giganotosaurus lived during the early Cenomanian era)
* Both are famously known to have killed a T-Rex. The difference is that the Spinosaurus received a lot of hate from the fans while Giganotosaurus did not
* Ironically, both their movies had anti-climatic endings which received huge disappointment from the fans
* The fight scene is inspired by DrakyDJ's video "The Jurassic World Dominion alternative ending", in which he made a fan animation of Spinosaurus returning after the Giganotosaurus had killed the Therizinosaurus. The difference is that the Spinosaurus is the one that was that was brought in early on instead of the Therizinosaurus
