Lyla floated over her programmer's head, "You've been laying there for 15 minutes, boss. Did you break something?"
"I was trying to will myself to stop breathing."
"Oh, how's that going for you?"
"Go away," he eventually pushed himself up from the floor. Ugh, he could feel the soft hemp cotton fabric with each movement, "Is it noticeable?"
The sprite circled his waist, "Thankfully, you already have such an impressive rump that you can barely tell."
"What's barely?"
She shrugged, adjusting her glasses, "I mean, if you really are staring, looks mostly like you're wearing briefs."
That was one silver lining. And what did she mean he couldn't take it off? She didn't honestly expect him to use it. Maybe this was a side effect of pregnancy brain, similar to strange cravings.
Miguel slowly left his room, searching for something to do other than rest.

"Yea babe, his first night was fineā¦I'm fine, thank you for asking. How is your trip going?" Jess spoke to her husband.
"It's ok. Meetings left and right. But the city is nice. I'm going to have to bring you here when we get a chance."
"That would be nice. It's been a while since we had a vacation. GG misses you. He's been kicking like crazy."
"I miss him too. Can't wait to come home and see you both. I love you."
"I love you too. I'm going to let you get back to work."
"Alright sweetie, don't forget my sister is giving you that baby shower."
A long, loud silence permeated the line.
"You forgot, didn't you?"
"Crap. Was it today or tomorrow?"

Miguel had found his steampad Peter had brought. Normally he would be slightly miffed that he was rummaging around his house, but in this case it benefited him greatly.
Minor mayhem filled his ears. Vacuuming, muttering, clanking from the kitchen.
"Jess?" He called out. After a moment of no response he stepped out of his room to see what she was doing.
Looked like she was having a sudden cleaning burst.
"Are you ok?"
"Oh, I'm fine," she pulled the mop bucket out, "Just getting some cleaning done."
"Would you like some help?" He reached for the vacuum.
"I would appreciate that so much. Why don't you vacuum, dust, and clean the mirrors for me," she led him to the cleaning closet so he could know where everything was.
Mig put his headphones on, started some music and got to business.
Cleaning was pretty soothing. It gave him control, purpose, and something productive to do. He HATED having nothing to do, feeling like a mooch.
Lyla had something productive to do as well. Watching his vitals and bodily functions.
An hour of cleaning flew by for him. He wasn't sure how much vacuuming and dusting he was supposed to do, but figured he would just go room to room. Front room, done, his room, done. Next room was the nursery.
It didn't need too much, just a quick vacuuming on the rug and wipe the furniture down.
"Lyla?" Miguel inspected the books and toys.
"Yea?"
"...Nevermind," he walked out, closing the door. He nearly bumped into Jess.
"I was looking for you. How about a little break in the yard?"

Mig sighed contently as the sun kissed his skin. There was so much he had been missing.
"Take advantage of the nice weather while it lasts," Jess fluffed the pillow on her lawn chaise.
She chose to lay on the furniture, while he had opted to lay on a blanket, allowing himself to be fully exposed to the warm rays. Slowly he was allowing himself to feel more at ease.
-How are you doing, kiddo?-
-I'm better, thanks for asking-
-That's good. Would you like to come by tomorrow after school? My sister in law is giving me a little shower and MJ is going to be there. And I wanted to talk to you in person about a few things-
-Thanks for the invite. Just give me a minute to think it over and I'll let you know.-
-No problem. I hope I get to see you. Tell the rest of the teens I said hi.-
-Will do-
"I'll be back, I'm going to go get us some drinks," Jess walked into the kitchen, "Hey Lyla, do you know how the teens are doing?"
"Gwen is ok, Miles is pretty good, Hobie is Hobie, and Patvir is fine. Seems like all is well. Just a little cooldown period was needed."
"Thats good. We'll be able to get things back in a reasonable state soon."
"I'd even venture to say things will be back to normal in a week or two!"
"You know I need your help right?" She smiled at the sprite.
"I thought you would never ask 3!"

"Enjoy," a small yogurt bowl with fruit was set on the blanket next to him, along with a bottle of water.
"Thanks," he sat up, taking small spoonfuls.
"Welcome."
