In this one shot, Angel made a bet with Alastor that if he could find Alastor's weakness, he gets a favor. What could his weakness be?
"Husk!" The spider demon shouted to the bartender. "Have ya seen Alastor?"
The cat scoffed. "No. He's always roaming the shadows, so good luck finding him." He paused. "Why are you looking for him."
"We have a bet that if I can find his weakness, he would allow me to ask for one favor. I told him game on, but ever since, I have yet to see him." Angel crossed his arms together. "I bet he is scared that I will find something."
The bartender laughed. "Yeah, the Great Alastor is scared he will lose a bet. Get a real reason why he is avoiding you."
Angel thought for a moment. "Maybe I am his weakness." the demon smirked.
Husker just rolled his eyes. "Get real. Like you would be his weakness. You just make everyone uncomfortable when you act… like that version of you."
Angel sighed. "You have known him for a long time, do you know if he has any weaknesses?"
Husker shrugged. "Not that I am aware. Maybe if you count that ego of his. If you do find out what his weakness is, I'd love to hear it."
Angel sighed, dipping his head in thought. He couldn't ask Niffty, the little demon wouldn't know either. Charlie is just in the dark as anyone else. He didn't dare to think about asking Val. The Moth demon may know Vox and they did have that duel a long time ago. He was back at square one.
He paused. Maybe he could ask Vaggie. The fallen angel may know something about demon weaknesses that are not included in Angelic steel.
"Vaggie!" He called out, wandering around the Hotel. "Yo, I need to ask ya a question. Do ya got a sec?"
The angel walked out of the rooms, arms crossed. "What is it, Angel?"
"You know how ya used to kill demons?"
Vaggie raised a brow. "I am aware of what I did. Get to the point."
"Did anyone ever manage to harm Alastor and if yes, what was his weakness for that?" Angel asked, hoping Vaggie could help him with the bet.
Vaggie's eyes widened a bit, dropping her hands to the side, her mouth gaped. "Uhhh. I don't think anyone paid attention to who they were killing and attacking, just the number of kills they made. Why do you want to find Alastor's weakness, though?"
"We made a bet." Angel grinned.
"I see. Well, sorry, I have no clue. The obvious one is Angelic steel, but that is everyone's weakness, so I doubt that counts."
"Damn it." Angel huffed. "He has one, I know he does. What can I try on him?"
Vaggie hummed. "We know he gets uncomfortable with your comments. Would you say that counts?"
"Nah, I tried that with Husk. He said I was not Al's weakness. I just make people uncomfortable. I doubt if I was to make any of my jokes, he would freeze up on the spot." Angel shrugged.
"Fair enough. If anything, he would take that as an opening to just crush you." Vaggie said.
"Hey! He wouldn't hurt anyone in this Hotel. He has shown us that he will protect this place."
"Yeah, because he wants to use it for his own entertainment. We are nothing more than just pawns for him. You should know this by now."
Angel sighed. "I don't know. I think Smiles has really changed since being here. I mean, I changed, and Charlie made this for demons to change, maybe he has as well. Ya never know."
Vaggie gave him a look. "You can think that, Angel, but he is one soul that will never change."
"You said you believe in Charlie's dream, and that is every sinner can change. That includes Smiles." Angel said.
Vaggie shifted a bit. "I know, but… It's Alastor."
"You don't have a valid argument." Angel chuckled. "Well, I need to find Al. I really want to win that bet."
Vaggie titled her head. "What do you win?"
"A favor of my choice." Angel smiled. "I already know what I want from Smiles and as an Overlord who makes deals, he won't back down without me bring it up."
Vaggie sighed. "He probably made the bet knowing you won't find anything."
"I will, just you wait." Angel said, leaving the fallen angel behind. Vaggie just shook her head, hoping that Angel doesn't get hurt in this process.
Angel, failing to find the Radio demon in the hotel, thought that he might as well take a break. Leaving the Hotel (after informing Charlie so she doesn't have a full freak out on him being missing), he wandered around the streets of the Pride Ring.
Angel knew that the older demon could be anywhere, but maybe he was in Cannibal Town. Why would the spider demon ever go there when he wasn't a cannibal. It would make sense for Alastor to hide out in.
Unfortunately, Angel had no luck. He was on track, though. Rosie told the spider he had just missed him. He left just moments before Angel had walked into the town. Growling, Angel took off, hoping to catch up to the demon.
Panting, Angel looked around, before doing a double take. He spotted the familiar ears and red coat of the Radio Demon. Smirking, he made his way toward the other. The shadow at Alastor's side spotted him. The shadow grinned before melting back down to only copy the movement of Alastor. Alastor stopped, letting Angel catch up to him.
"Trying to hide, aye, Smiles?"
"No, my dear, I just had some errands to run today prior to our little bet." Alastor said.
"If you say so." Angel shrugged.
"Have you come up with an outlandish weakness of mine?" Alastor asked.
Angel looked at the other man and hummed. "So far, the best I got is that I am your weakness but Husker said that it would only be true if being uncomfortable was a weakness for others."
Alastor laughed, a laugh track echoed his own. "Oh, my dear Angel, Husk would be correct, you are not a weakness of mine. At least, not one that I would count in this way. In terms of our bet, it has to be one that someone could use in battle, not one that is simple like ties to another."
"Yeah, than what would that be for you?"
"Telling you means you forfeit. Is that what you want?" Alastor eyed Angel.
"Mmm, no. I will figure this out."
Alastor gave a look of amusement to the other before something was spotted in the corner of his eyes. Looking over the man stood in place, wide grin and all. He just seemed frozen.
Angel paused in front of the other and looked behind himself. "Al?"
Nothing. The man was just frozen.
Frowning, Angel noticed the car approaching. "The hell? AL! Don't just…. Wait a moment…." Angel quickly pulled the man toward him as the car rushed passed them.
Alastor blinked. "Angel… what are you doing?"
"Saving your life…. Well, saving you from pain at least. You froze up when that car was approaching… as if you were a deer caught in headlights." Angel shouted at the other. "You can't be serious about that… your weakness… you… you freeze at headlights!?"
Alastor thought for a moment. "That would explain why I always end up near crashed automobiles…"
Angel stared at the other. "You didn't know?"
Alastor shrugged. "I always assumed something else happened."
"Yeah… no. You froze." Angel perked up. "Which means I found your weakness! An odd one, but hey, I won."
Alastor sighed. "I guess you did. With a weakness I didn't know I had. A deal is a deal. You have a favor from me that you can use at-"
"A date."
Alastor blinked. "What?"
"I want you and I to go on a date." Angel repeated.
Alastor chuckled. "Very well, that sounds reasonable. Better than what you wanted from me the first time we met."
"Hey! But… fair."
"Come my dear, let us head home, shall we?"
"Okay, as long as you don't forget about keeping your part of the deal."
"Oh, I always keep my end of the deal. Don't you worry, my dear." Alastor said, his signature grin planted on his face.
This one is inspired by a comic that I came across when going through comic dubs. I thought it was funny and put my own swing on it. Made it a bet between Al and Angel. Here is the URL to the video if you want to see the original source: www. /watch?v=8L3UGCoKqGs (Yes, I had to slip in my favorite ship here, fight me). Anyway, hope this was a fun way to start this challenge. See you tomorrow.
