Late that night, Claudia was under the covers, she had Mimi's King James Bible. Of course it was full of yellow pages because it was around quite a long time and now was just learning about it.
Claudia opened the Bible, trying to be careful about not ripping it.
She even found a note. Here's what she read:
To whoever reads this:
I hope you will enjoy this book one day and figure out where I was hiding it. I hope you enjoy this book if you want to remember me in the future.
I know I never shared this religion thing, but I was able to spend time with God whenever I had that chance.
This is a very important book, and talks about everything. I have loved the passage about asking, knocking, and it will be open to you.
Right now it seems to me whoever finds this book would feel my spirit along with God's Spirit when reading it.
Another passage I have loved was your neighbor as thyself. Yes, I love you too, even though I'm not here to say it to you in person.
I hope you decide for yourself to accept God's Grace and He would forgive your sins. If you do that one thing, you will know I am right next to you and smile when making that decision.
Hope to see you in Heaven.
Love,
Mimi
Claudia reread the note several times, and when she did, she also thought she heard her grandmother's voice while doing so.
She even looked up the passages Mimi had written down since she left the verses.
That was how Claudia began to feel His presence coming in.
"My daughter, thank you for finding this copy of My book I have hidden until someone had the chance to find it in the future.
"Now that you have found My presence, I am already preparing your future relationship with Me if you're serious about knowing the plans I have for you."
After God said that, Claudia continued to hear more from what God had to add on.
'This is very strange. Why am I hearing a voice I can't hear in person? I don't understand how. I know Dawn said the same thing. I'll give her a call.'
The more Claudia tried not listening to God's Voice, she was hearing it anyway. God didn't want her to call Dawn just yet, she noticed.
It felt like Claudia heard God reading her mind.
"I'd love to give it a chance as long as You plan on having my smile come back."
"I may not be able to help you make that choice to start smiling again. That is up to you, not Me.
"Your parents love you and your sister just the same, so there is no playing favorites. I will be with you at all times, whether you like it or not. What decision have you made?"
Claudia didn't know how long she thought of this conversation with Jesus Christ for the first time. If she found out more about Him and His grace, the relationship would've been serious.
Claudia felt God's Spirit drift away for after what He'd asked about her decision to choose Him on having a relationship. She wished she knew about Mimi's relationship with God before she died, but never really gave it that much thought. How did Mimi spend her time with Christ when she had nobody else in the family were around to be with her?
That was a good question, but it will have to be God answering that question since He knows everything about us, no matter what religion we are.
She sighed, but planned to keep Mimi's Bible on her desk where she left her books from school usually were. She just wanted to know how much further to go with Christ during this time. Would it be easy to forget about this relationship with God when she chooses to smile again? God's words had brought back about the smiling thing. He might've been right, but how would she know when to bring the smile back? People have always loved how she smiled until recently because she hadn't done so.
"Mimi, I wish you were here today to help me understand why God came into my room unexpectedly. I would've had more idea since I just found your note in the Bible we found in the attic. I wish there were answers to this whole thing you have kept quiet about. I miss and love you."
She didn't even hear the presence once when speaking those sentences when God had left the conversation. He would be back, she knew for sure. Maybe now was the perfect time to give Dawn that call.
Claudia changed her mind and decided not to call her friend after all. She decided to wait until the two of them were together.
Now let's see what Dawn has to say about her own relationship with God where they both are. Maybe God was right - Dawn could help her unless she figures it out for herself.
