Now the next day was Friday, so it meant that they would have a meeting at five - thirty this afternoon. School was out for the summer, so there was no need to go.

Claudia waited to share this with her friends when they showed up for the meeting. She thought maybe her friends would also be interested in seeing where Dawn and Claudia were with their relationship with God so far.

Dawn and Kristy were the first to show up.

"Hi, girls," Claudia greeted them.

"Hi, Claudia."

Both Dawn and Kristy noticed Claudia's smile still hadn't returned. They were worried about their friend.

"Dawn?"

"What?"

"Remember the last time we had a meeting you mentioned God?"

"Of course."

Kristy was interested in their conversation, so she decided to hear what Claudia had to say.

She was about to start sharing with Dawn when the other girls showed up. Mallory and Jessi couldn't make it because they were out sick for the weekend.

"Are we missing on anything?" Stacey asked.

"Dawn and I were just about to chat when you came in."

"About what?" Mary Anne asked.

"God," was the answer.

"Again? You have changed, Claudia. We've never seen this before."

Stacey and the other girls agreed with what Mary Anne told her.

"You've changed too, Dawn. Was this your idea of changing your life around like this?"

"No, Stacey. It never was in the first place."

"Why would you change?" Claudia asked.

"Everybody changes, Claud. Look at you. You're a perfect example," Kristy said.

"You're right, Kristy."

One thing Claudia figured out on her own without anyone sharing with her that going to church changes your life, no matter where you go.

She didn't have any plans to try going to church anytime soon. She decided to share with the girls about Mimi's Bible she found in the attic.

"I found something I wanted to share."

"What's that?" Stacey asked.

"You girls remember Mimi, right?"

They nodded.

"Of course we remember your grandmother. She was a wonderful person," Mary Anne said.

"Well, me and my parents found something that belonged to her in the attic nobody knew about. Guess what it was? All I can say it was a book, but it looked like it was falling apart. Must've been a favorite. I don't remember her being around books."

"What kind of book was it?" Dawn asked.

"Have you read the Bible, Dawn? I know we're changing a bit," Claudia told her friend.

"I don't think I've tried reading that kind of book. I never knew your grandmother who read stuff like that."

"Neither did we. I found a note from her when I picked up the book in the attic. I thought I could feel her spirit when I was up there."

"What kind of note?" Kristy asked.

"I'll have to read it to you."

She picked it up from her desk that was with her textbooks.

Claudia opened the page Mimi had written it and read the note.

"That sure sounds like Mimi," Mary Anne said.

"It does," Claudia agreed.

"Have you started going through it yet?" Dawn asked.

"A little bit. There's a lot of stories and information in there, let me tell you."

"That's been going on a lot lately."

The girls nodded.

"What subject did you flip through?"

"I can't remember what it was. I think this thing is hard to read and understand."

"Maybe I could take it home and flip through myself?" Dawn asked.

"Sure, as long as you bring it back," Claudia told her.

"Thanks. I will bring it back at the next meeting."

"Take your time."

The girls didn't get many phone calls today, so they were able to chat about other things besides Jesus. Claudia Claudia told herself she wanted to try and figure out what gave Mimi the idea of hiding something from her about Jesus and God. She was happy to see that she was able to feel her grandmother's secret.
