Chapter 4: #sweetjustice part 3
After leaving the pier, the girls and I would be talking about how we had spent it, Daiana was carrying a blue teddy bear that she had won in the game we had taught her while I was still treasuring the photos we had taken with a nostalgic smile Trying not to go into deep memories to avoid crying, Daiana still looked at me with some uncertainty. she knew she was hiding something, my eyes showed deep pain and my smile showed sadness. she didn't know what it was, but she knew she would have to ask at some point. but this was not that moment, they were having a beautiful moment now she knew what it was like to be a normal teenager or she thinks the least she wants is to ruin the moment.
"My friends, today was a wonderful night. But there is one thing we must do to mark this night of friendship." Zatana would say with a big smile calling our attention to Bárbara, Daiana and me. while the others apparently knew what Zatana was referring to.
"sweet justice". Kara, Jessica, Karen and Zatanna would say at the same time as they took us to some kind of ice cream parlor.
"They are not going to want to miss this." she would say kara as she led us straight into the ice cream parlor.
I admit it, when we entered I felt a severe toothache. And it was that this place was the dream of every sugar lover, there was a great variety of sugary products. Chocolates, candies, gum, muffins, cake, etc. heck this was a dream come true right now he had his mouth watering for the delicacies there were.
"God, why didn't this exist in my world." I mumbled while looking at everything hungry without realizing that Daiana had heard my comment and was looking at me puzzled when I said 'my world'.
in that we noticed that a boy with blond hair approaches us, he was wearing the local uniform. this was Barry one of the most beloved employees of the place.
"Hello girls, how are you? Do you want something sweet? I hope that is what we have." Barry would say, the speed at which he spoke was as if he had eaten pounds and pounds of sugar.
"Hi Barry." would say Kara, Zatana, Jessica and Karen. except Barbara, Daiana, and me.
"And then what do I serve you? The usual, the usual, the usual, the usual." Barry stopped when he saw me, Barbara, and Daiana.
"Barbara will have the chocolate chip kitten surprise, Benja and Daiana will have death by chocolate." Zatana would say.
in that I see that Daiana was going to take out a ball with spikes, and before I took it out I would stop her saying. "It's just a Daiana expression." She looked at me before remembering the incident with the poor man she had been chasing for 5 streets only because she misunderstood what Jessica was trying to explain, when she remembered it she would put the gun away somewhat ashamed.
When we finished ordering our orders, it wasn't even 2 seconds when Barry brought what we had ordered. Barbara and I were shocked by the speed at which Barry brought everything so fast.
"Here are your orders, I'm very sorry for the delay. Enjoy." Barry would say as he went to attend to new clients while the girls and I ate expecto Daiana who looked doubtfully at the ice cream.
"And what are you waiting for Daiana? Come on, try it." I would say kara. in that Daiana would take her spoon and look at the ice cream before licking it, at the moment he closed it his eyes widened like saucers, in a second Daiana would stick her head inside her ice cream starting to eat it like a wild animal.
"I have never tried anything like it! I need more!". Daiana shouted and in that she began to eat our ice creams in a hurry while we looked with complete shock at the speed in which Daiana devoured the poor ice creams.
when Daiana would stop her assault on the ice cream she would sit in her chair before fainting at the table worrying us all. Karen would touch Daiana with her spoon only for the Amazon to wake up suddenly as we all sigh in relief.
"Wow, I had heard that sugar fills the body with energy but seriously Daiana you took that theory to a very crazy level." I said very surprised receiving nods from the girls.
"Companions, I have never tasted something so delicious in my life, I propose that every victory we have in battle we celebrate in this great place." Daiana would say as she raised her empty glass.
"sweet justice for the victory!" shouted Barbara supporting Daiana's idea.
"I don't know what he meant!" Daiana would say while I on the other hand would laugh at what Daiana said.
"We had already told them that we will not sell the ice cream parlor." our celebration was interrupted by an argument that the ice cream shop owners were apparently having with someone.
"Barry, please call the lawyer." a woman would say who was apparently panicking while Barry nodded and the call was to be made.
"A lawyer? Why do you want a lawyer?" Jessica would ask and in that we saw how a couple of robots entered the place.
"On orders from the city council we were asked to demolish this place, you have 15 seconds to leave the building before we start the demolition." one of the robots would say as a timer appeared in his head causing everyone in the place to run away in a panic.
"Sisters and Benja, this is our chance to see the results of our training." Daiana would say but I notice that my gaze showed panic and anger at the same time.
"But what can we do? I'm not ready yet." Karen would say scared but I notice that an aura of fire covered me completely putting on my hero suit.
"We don't have much time to think about this Karen, the best we can do is give everything. There are still people here and they are completely scared to do something, if they stay here they will be seriously injured. people here and prevent robots from hurting people or the place. " I said seriously as my hair was covered in blue fire, while making a pair of fire whips appear.
"Sisters, Benja you're right. There are people here still, they could get hurt. We have to get them out of here." Daiana would say seriously receiving nods from the girls even though they were somewhat insecure about this since it was the first time they would do this.
When the count reached zero, the robots took out many demolition instruments, circular locks, giant mallets, among other things. just when one of the robots was going to attack a table where there were 3 teenager the robot would be split in half by one of my whips calling the attention of the robots and the rest of the customers to see me and the girls in our suits here are ready to fight.
"They're going to have to run over us if they want to destroy this place, wheeled garbage cans." kara would say in a mocking tone. After that statement, part of the robots would attack us and the rest to destroy the place.
"Green lantern, Zatana. Get the civilians out of here, the rest of us take care of the robots." Daiana would say receiving nods from the two girls while we go to Fight the robots.
the fight was very hard, one thing is to fight against armed robbers but this was not to fight against those robbers now I was fighting against a couple of armed robots, to make it worse they were appearing more which made the job much more difficult, I felt that my body was I got tired and it was due to the use of my powers, since as you know I did not have time to train them properly so I could barely do something like the others.
"Sisters, benja. Let's get this over with." Daiana would say seriously and we all got together since everyone had already left leaving us alone with the robots.
at that moment I put my hands together, if we were going to finish with this I would do it with everything so I would be creating a sphere of fire of an electric blue tone and this began to grow because the attack was serious, Kara would prepare her thermal vision, Jessica her ring, Zatana would begin to recite a spell, Daiana prepared her sword, Barbara her batarangs, and Karen prepared to at least give her all in this last attack.
"fire element !! infernal blow". I yelled as my fist merges with the sphere of fire. Daiana let out a war cry and we would go directly to the attack, Kara shot her thermal vision splitting a large group of robots in half, Jessica would make a large giant hand appear taking out all the robots, Daiana would give a large cut splitting in half 6 robots at the same time and finally, when I launched my attack, a great blast of fire would incinerate most of the robots.
just when there were no robots left we went out to see all the destroyed robots. When we saw this we began to celebrate even that only the girls did it since now I was hiding my hand while I dropped to the ground due to fatigue, our relief was changed from one moment to another when the ice cream parlor began to fall apart. we all saw this with disappointment and shock.
"The upside to this is that at least we all got out safely." I said as I put the wrong hand to get up I only managed to scream a little in pain. the girls turned only to be scared to see my burned hand. it seemed as if my hand had been trapped in an oven. the girls' concern was great.
"By the great Hera, Benja that happened to your hand." Daiana would say as she watched as Barbara helped me up while Jessica and Zatana helped with my wound.
"hehehe well, I think I was a bit serious with my attack." I said before letting out a small moan of pain when Jessica touched my hand with a cotton ball that Zatana made appear accompanied with a first aid kit thanks to her magic.
"A little? friend, your hand looks like it tried to touch the sun." She would say kara completely surprised and at the same time worried when she saw how damaged she was.
"It doesn't matter, at least this can't get worse." I said as Jessica and Zatana finished bandaging my hand. After my statement a white mist would begin to appear in the place which made us all tense.
"Daiana!" she yelled a completely firm voice and apparently sounded annoyed. that confused not only me but the girls as well, but Diana seemed concerned.
"Daiana, what's up?" Karen would ask while she was looking very scared.
"Sisters, Benja. I want you to meet. my mother," Daiana would say, and in that case, a cold-looking woman would come to us and stand next to Daiana. she was much taller than us, she made us see how insignificant ants in front of a giant. she wore golden armor and what appeared to be a cape made from animal skin.
"Friend, your mom looks like the final boss of a video game." I'd say kara, even though she didn't seem to be intimidated deep down she was completely scared by her friend's mother while Karen was hiding behind her.
"How could you Daiana, you escape to participate in the Athena and Aphrodite tournament. And now you escape from the island to come here." Daiana's mother would say seriously while we looked at her with shock.
"One second. Daiana, did you run away?" I said surprised seeing Daiana.
"What happened to that your mission was to protect the world from man?" Kara would ask as she looked at Daiana in surprise.
"She has no such goal. Daiana, you have brought disgrace to our people, you will return home to me and be punished for the rest of your immortal life." Daiana's mother would say as she dragged her along with other warriors who were Daiana's mother's bodyguards.
what could I do?. The girls and I knew that fighting Daiana's mother was suicide. But I could not stand idly by while I watched our friend being taken away, in that many memories came to me suddenly. the training sessions, the time when we met her, our friends outing, when we were on the pier. All the memories suddenly came to my head like cold water, I would slowly take the photos and see how happy Daiana was with us. Maybe she not only wanted to be a hereo, she wanted to make friends. she couldn't let him go, she is my friend, she is my family. and I would not allow this to happen. my eyes filled with tears and in that my hair would be covered by a blaze of fire, at that moment I would take a big jump and end up landing in front of the amazons surprising everyone.
"Please wait." I said while staring at Daiana's mother into her eyes although I felt that my soul was practically intimidated by the woman's eyes.
"What do you want girl?" Daiana's mother would say seriously.
"I'm not a girl." after my statement I removed the hood and mask showing my face which surprised the amazons.
"a man?." Daiana's mother would ask, disgust could be seen in her voice.
"Please listen to what I have to say, I know that Daiana did something very bad that was to escape from her home and I understand that you are angry. But please, if Daiana did this it must be for some purpose besides. of her life, she must choose her own path and choose where she wants to go. " I said with all the firmness that I could gather from my nerves.
"What do you know, boy? She is only 317 years old." Would Daiana's mother say something that shocked me, how the hell does Daiana look so good at an age like that?.
"So what? In case you didn't realize Daiana is old enough to make her own decisions and decide what she wants to do, when a teenager is 16 or 17 they can make their own decisions and be responsible for them. Daiana, on the other hand, is older than any normal teenager, yet she can make the decisions she wants, and you can't decide what she should do !! " I said that last with a loud yell which surprised the Amazons and the girls.
in that I directed my gaze to Daiana and shouted. "Daiana listen to me! You must make the decisions that your heart dictates to you, you must not listen to what others say, you must listen to your heart. You not only came here to be a hereo and save the world, you also came here to demonstrate that nothing can stop you and to show what you are made of. My God Daiana, you told us that you participated in a lathe made by two Olympian goddesses. and you managed to pass each test, surely you cried, bled and did not rest to give everything. all of you and you fought to prove that no one can stop you. " tears welled up in my eyes as the flames in my hair grew higher and higher. But I saw how happy you were. when you were with us and I saw how much you tried to learn from us. Daiana had tears in her eyes because of what I said, was I really taking her as part of my family? What was she feeling in her heart? Why did she squeeze her chest so tightly? She did not know what this feeling was but it felt very nice, she stared at me noticing that my eyes despite being watery I noticed that I was telling the truth, she felt a great amount of courage and determination so she would quickly let go of her grip mother and he would stare at her and say seriously.
"Mom, Benja is right. I have to make my own decisions and go my own way." Daiana said seriously as she stood in front of her mother, looking into her eyes.
"Daiana, what kind of betrayal is this?" Daiana's mother would demand seriously.
"It is not a betrayal mother, Benja is right in everything she said. She is also right about the Athena and Aphrodite tournament. By decree I am no longer a girl, I am a woman. I will make the decisions I want since it is my life and my heart tells me which way to choose and I'm not going to leave here. " Daiana would say with determination, those words made Daiana's mother look at me with contempt and she will go.
"You damn man, how dare you give Daiana these kinds of ideas !?" she would yell angrily but what she said didn't affect me at all since my gaze was still full of determination and seriousness.
"I didn't give you ideas, Daiana is making her decision and you as a mother should respect your daughter's decision." I said seriously, before a possible fight started Barbara came up to us quickly. she seemed concerned about something.
"Daiana, Benja a lot of robots are heading to the dock!" Barbara shouted which made her stop having my fire aura while Daiana and I looked at Barbara in complete shock, so we would start running with her being followed by Daiana's mother and hers her bodyguards. we would get to the pier to see that Barbara was right there were hundreds of robots approaching the place.
"Damn, first sweet justice. Now the dock? It's official now I'm getting mad." I said with some anger in my voice as the girls and I prepared for the fight.
"You guys stay behind, we'll take care of it." Daiana's mother would say while she and her bodyguard attacked the robots but it would not last even 4 seconds when a pink substance would be shot to where they are causing the amazons and Daiana's mother to be trapped in it. that made the girls and I get serious seeing a giant robot approach and position itself in front of the army of robots.
Barbara recognized the logo on the robot's chest and would say. "I knew, I knew. I knew this was Lex Luthor's doing."
"haha, do you really think my pathetic brother is behind this?" a sharp voice inside the robot would say and in that a chest compartment would open showing a blonde haired girl who was looking at us with a mocking smile. however the girls and I seemed confused.
"I am the one responsible for this, the great Lena Luthor. I did all this myself, not my fool brother. I did all this because of my plan." the girl would say but we were still confused.
"Agh !!, do I have to explain everything?" shouted Lena somewhat angry.
"ah, that's not obvious." I'd say kara making her sigh angrily.
"Teens, you think you are a big deal because of your exit plans, those movies, your absurd games and all that nonsense you do? Well, I'll tell you, all that is over. I reprogrammed my brother's robots so that they destroy them all the places that you like so much. and once that happens all of you will go to the virtual reality glasses that I reprogrammed myself and thus, the city will be only ours for the children. and no one will be able to stop us. " Lena would say as she began to laugh in a silly way wiping a drop of anime style sweat from me, the girls including the Amazons.
"I've heard of many plans in my entire life. But without a doubt this is the most absurd plan I have ever heard of in my life." I said with a blank face and a drop of anime-style sweat running down the back of my neck.
"You are the most absurd thing in the world!" Lena would say angry at my comment.
"Think about it for a second, if you get rid of all the teenagers and at the same time adults in the city you will be in danger at all times, the firefighters, doctors and policemen would be out of service always and you would be in constant danger since there will be no no one to help them. " I said without expression. But I only made Lena angry.
"It's over! I won't argue with some fools like you anymore, robots finish them off." Lena would say as the robots began to attack us. in that we would begin to fight the best we could, but this was only a distraction since some robots would be destroying the dock with the help of Lena, making our mission to protect the dock difficult, but we should also be aware of the Amazons since, like them, they are immobilized they are easy targets for robots making the matter more difficult.
"hahaha, I win, I win!" Lena would say as she destroys the pier. in total 60 percent of the dock was destroyed. we could barely keep our 40 percent with barely.
"They are too many!" Barbara would say very worried about how we were losing and in that we all regrouped while we were sweating from fatigue and nerves.
"We are outnumbered, we must do something. I don't think I can hold out for long." I said very tired while the flame in my hair still remained but it was seen that little by little it was fading.
"We have to eliminate the leader. If a leader dies his allies will follow suit." Daiana would say and we would see how Barbara took the computer out of her starting to write quickly and in that she would show the internal planes of the robot.
"If we overload the internal system of the robot that generates a massive short circuit that will generate serious failures to the robot's system, if we do that the robot will lose control and it is likely that it will lose control of the other robots!" she would say she barbara with a hopeful smile.
"It's a great idea. But how are we going to overload that robot? My electronic element is locked and I can't interact with it." I said something worried and in that Kara looks at an electric guitar and an amplifier and quickly brings them.
"I had one of these in my house, when I put it up to maximum I left my whole neighborhood without light all night". kara would say as she holds the guitar.
"That's right, I'm going to modify the amplifier so that it passes the 10th, when that happens we must connect the amplifier to the robot and so when Kara plays the guitar it will generate a big short circuit in the robot." she would say she barbara while she started modifying the amp.
"Not true, can you do the same with mine?" Kara would ask with a huge smile and star-filled eyes.
"But there's a problem." I said getting the attention of my team. "The suit is armored, it will not allow us to easily connect it externally. The only way is to connect it internally, but how will we do this?" I said worried and noticed that Karen raised her hand
"I can do it, I can shrink so I can get into the suit and connect it from the inside." Karen would say making everyone look at her somewhat insecure for the idea.
"Karen, are you sure? It could be dangerous." Daiana would say as she looked at Karen.
"I'm scared and I don't want to do it, but I want to try." Karen would say with determination.
"And you Benja? Can you keep fighting? I feel weak." Jessica would say as she looked at me concerned about my condition.
"And let you guys fight alone while I just see this get worse, haha. I'm not going to back down so easily Jessica. I may not have much strength left but I'll do my best." I said with a somewhat forced smile.
"Very good. Benja, Zatana and I will take care of Lena, Barbara, Jessica and Karen do their best to follow through with the plan and Kara waits for the signal to act." Daiana would say receiving nods from everyone and we put the plan into motion. Zatana and I were distracting Lena with different ways, Zatana was creating illusions of her while I was throwing flames of fire so that Lena was slightly blinded by the intensity of the heat making it difficult for her to attack us. Daiana took advantage of Lena's carelessness to throw the lasso of truth and catch one of her arms, Lena was going to attack but her other arm was held back by a pair of roots that came out under the pier on my part, Zatana and Jessica did not stay back and took care of the legs. Barbara was close to finishing, meanwhile Karen would enter Lena's robot reaching the motherboard connecting the amplifier cable.
"The cable is in position Barbara." Karen would say through her communicator.
"Okay Karen, just a little more." she would say she barbara while she did some final touches on the amplifier.
When Barbara finished, she would connect the amplifier to the cable but she got the cable to disconnect and quickly Karen would catch it doing her best not to fall. while this was happening Lena would make the robot move in a crazy way getting rid of us except for Barbara thanks to a hook gun she would still be tied to the robot to make sure the amp does not fall. Daiana would signal to Kara and immediately Kara would go where the giant robot was going.
"Kara, now or never!" shouted Barbara as she threw the guitar at Kara and she would catch him.
"Alright girl, here is your lullaby." I would say kara. in that she would play a powerful chord starting to play the guitar wildly causing the electronics to flow incredibly through the cable due to overload. Karen seeing that she would not be able to do it would decide to do something heroic, she would connect her hand to the motherboard of the machine making electricity flow through it, it was a miracle that her suit will withstand the great charges of electricity that Kara's guitar produced.
"No! It's not fair, they cheated!" Lena shouted very angry when she saw her robot fail in a crazy way, in that the propellants of her robot would cause it to be sent to fly but the propellants would be missing causing the suit to crash to the ground with force generating a small crater in the street.
"we did it!." he shouted very happy like the girls, for our victory.
"Wait, and Karen?" Jessica would say causing our happiness to be changed by fear and concern when seeing that Karen did not come out.
"Karen ..." I mumbled full of worry and fear.
We noticed that a small yellow light fell slowly and it is brighter showing Karen lying on the ground. The girls and I did not hesitate to go see her status.
"Karen are you okay?" Kara would ask, by the time we saw Karen she was not dead, she just seemed dizzy from the great electrical load she had to endure.
"Karen, my god you almost gave us a heart attack." I said relieved to know that my friend was just dizzy.
"What happened? We won?" Karen would ask as she took off her helmet. but in that a small electrical spark would pass through one of Karen's hair causing a part of her hair to have an electric yellow streak.
"Nice rays, what is your secret." Zatana would say with a smile upon seeing Karen's new luck.
"mother resist !." I looked back to see Daiana trying to free her mother from her.
"Daiana let me help you." I said as I approached and in that I would make some small flames appear in my hands and in that I would launch a small flare at the substance that trapped Daiana's mother and her bodyguard. We saw that the substance that was once solid was now dissolving thanks to the heat of my fire, releasing Daiana's mother completely.
"mother!". Daiana would say, hugging her mother tightly, a gesture that she reciprocated.
Seeing this, I couldn't help but remember my mother. I knew the feeling that Daiana had, seeing a being you love in danger is the last thing you want to see in your life. the feeling of feeling imposing and feeling bad knowing that you cannot do anything to save your loved ones was a bad feeling. When I saw Daiana reunited with her mother, I smiled wistfully as she let out a small tear.
'Mom, you have no idea how much I miss you now.' I said in my mind feeling that my heart was squeezing hard, before I left with the others, Daiana's mother would call me.
"Hey kid, come here." Daiana's mother would say and in that I would approach to see what she wanted.
"Thank you for freeing us and I wanted to know why you let that tear come out." Daiana's mother would say as she looked at me, perhaps it was her maternal instincts that made her ask that question.
"I only remembered the warmth and comforting it is to have the hug of someone who gave you life, the single image of remembering that person who was always by your side and filled you with love and affection fills the heart of a person with a great happiness and nostalgia that is difficult to retain. in simple words, seeing you, lady, hugging Daiana. reminds me of my mother. " I said with a small smile trying to hide the sadness.
"Hippolyta, my name is Hippolyta Queen of the Amazons." Daiana's mother now known as Hipólita would say.
"I am the elemental magician, but my real name is Alejo Benjamin. But just call me Benja, Miss Hippolyta." I said as she shook his hand.
"Could you leave me and my daughter alone for a moment?" Hipólita would ask, receiving a nod from me while she went with the others.
"Mother, what did you want to talk to me about?" Daiana would ask confused as she looks at her mother.
"Daughter, that boy made me see the truth. I can't always make your decisions and you must guide you through your own path so I will let you be here in the world of man so that you can continue with your mission to protect it. I see you have a great team that supports you and is very fond of you. " Hipólita would say as she looked at us, we were being surrounded by many people while they took photos of us and also asked us questions.
"Thank you mother, I promise I will not fail you." Daiana would say with a big smile.
"Daughter, you should talk to that boy named Benja. I could see that in his eyes he hides something since I see a lot of pain and sadness inside him when he saw us together." Hipólita would say something would be receiving a nod from Daiana, she also wanted to know what she was hiding.
"Goodbye my daughter, I see that they are waiting for you." Hippolyta would say smiling as she left with the other Amazons. Daiana would come with us where she would also receive questions and being photographed by many reporters.
A couple of minutes passed and now we would be at Kara's house, celebrating our victory. we all wore our normal clothes. Daiana, Barbara and Karen were fixing and decorating her hair, Jessica and Zatana were chatting, while I was looking at the moon sitting in the window while I meditated a little all my new life. I hadn't noticed that Kara had walked in with bowls full of popcorn, we were going to see a movie to celebrate.
'my first day in this city, my first day being hereo and my first victory. haha, surely my friends are not going to believe this. God, it will be difficult for me to live in this world if I do not stop remembering my old life, I must remain calm, come on Benja you forgot, Sebastian is protecting mom, dad and others ... but ... how will mom feel right now?.' I told myself mentally as he lowered his head, it was incredible. now he had a new life, a new purpose to live, new friends, and a unique adventure to be a superhero. but all this led to a price that was completely great. It cost me my life, my family, my friends, my studies, this new life cost me everything I loved before. I just hoped that everyone at home was fine even though I knew that right now they will be very hurt when they know about my death but I am more hurt. because I miss you so much.
"Benja." I was taken out of my thoughts when kara threw a popcorn at her cheek causing her to look at her.
"Eh? Kara ?. What's up?" I said confused but I noticed that the girls were looking at me strangely, maybe I didn't realize it but I had been in my thoughts for 15 minutes without saying anything, looking clearly at the moon, that's why they look at me as if they wanted to know what was happening.
"Are you okay? You have been looking at the sky for 15 minutes." Karen would say somewhat worried.
"oh hahaha sorry, I just need some water. I may be very tired." I said with a nervous smile before leaving the room.
"Something weird is wrong with Benja." she would say she barbara as she stood up.
