#Night of the bat.
Barbara was very thoughtful, much more than usual. She had been in metropolis for a while and had gotten what she always wanted, but she always had the feeling that she was forgetting something or something that made her feel uncomfortable. But there was a problem, she didn't know what it was exactly.
"Hey Babs, where do you want the lamp?" Barbara was pulled out of her thoughts when Jessica spoke.
"Oh, put her on that table." Barbara said as she pointed to a table that was near a window. Jessica would use her ring to place the lamp carefully, Zatanna was also helping by using her magic to order some dolls, I was there and I was helping to put up some posters and Barbara's clothes using my ivy element.
"Well Barbara? What do you think?" Jessica asked with a smile.
The room was clean and tidy, the clothes were neatly folded and put into place, the dolls arranged from largest to smallest, the posters arranged in a way that Barbara had requested, in just words the room is perfectly tidy.
"It's amazing! I'm starting to think that metropolis is better than Gotham !." Barbara said as she looked around her room with a smile. I smiled upon hearing that, however one of my vines would touch my shoulder and show me an extra box.
"Girls, we forgot a box." I said as she handed the box to the redhead. Barbara took the box and when she opened it she found an old Batman teddy bear that made the redhead's smile disappear.
"Are you okay Babs ?." Zatanna asked as she approached where the redhead is.
"Yeah, it's just ... I'll never forget that summer day in Gotham City." Barbara said as she remembered something that happened in her childhood.
Flashback
Gotham city The most dangerous city in the world, worldwide known for being a city where chaos, robberies, and villains were everyday things. It was very surprising that many people could live under such conditions.
In a Gotham City apartment you could see a Barbara of about 10 or 9 years old who was with a handmade Batman doll.
"Very good. Just wait a little more mate, I'm almost done." little Barbara said while she was cooking her doll. However, the little girl would see that the sign of a certain hero that she knew perfectly would appear in the sky.
"It's the Bat-signal, very good friend. Time to show Batman that we are ready, today he will not reject us. Today we will join the Batfamily." said little Barbara excitedly as she put on a bicycle helmet before leaving her room.
Barbara would speed out of her house on her bike while in the front of her bike she would have a communicator that was synchronized with the police radio.
"Batman, this is Commissioner Gordon. I don't think we can come to stop those bandits, do you think you can alone?" Barbara's father's voice came through Barbara's radio.
"Not if I can help it !." Barbara said with a smile as she increased her speed, the little girl had come a long way to get to the place but it would be late. All the bandits were defeated, the redhead looked at the roof of a building and would see the hero who was a great inspiration for her. Batman looked around the place for a few moments before leaving, leaving Barbara behind.
"Wait! You forget your partner." Barbara said sadly as she watched the hero leave.
"He already has a partner, girl." Among the shadows would come out a boy who wore a hero suit which was Robin the companion of Batman.
"Oh, did you bring your doll? How adorable," said Robin mockingly as he stared at Barbara's doll.
"He is not just a doll. He is my friend, my support, he is the bomb !." Barbara said as she stared at Batman's partner.
"Hahahaha, the bomb? Face it, silly. Batman doesn't want crying girls to ruin his style." Robin said as he shot his hook at the roof of a building.
"Why don't you just go home and keep playing with your dolls?" Robin said as he laughed before leaving leaving Barbara in place.
Barbara lowered her head while removing her helmet, suddenly some lights shone on the redhead and it was police cars. Inside one of the cars would be a 42-year-old man who wore formal clothes, he was Barbara's father.
"Barbara? What are you doing here?" asked the redhead's father as he quickly approached her daughter, Barbara turned to see her father in tears which was very painful for the Gotham commissioner.
"Father." was the only thing Barbara said while her father gave her a hug to calm her daughter.
"Oh Babs, this is my fault. I shouldn't have agreed to work in such a dangerous place as this." Commissioner Gordon said as he held little Barbara.
"I promise you, one day I'll get you out of here Barbara. Gotham City is not a place for family." the Gotham commissioner said as he gazed at the full moon before going to the police car to take his daughter back to her home.
End of Flashback.
"I don't understand why Batman stood up to Robin if he doesn't have the style. So I was training hard and struggling in my studies. I was ready to show Batman that I was ready, but my dad quit his job in Gotham, so we had to move to Metropolis, "Barbara said as she put her childhood doll on a shelf.
"You know Barbara, you may not be able to be Batman's partner. But now you have your own team." I said as I approached the redhead.
"And also, a night in sweet justice." Zatanna said smiling.
"Agh, guys go without me. Mom works late so I'll have to stay with dad." Barbara said a little annoyed.
Every time Barbara's mother works late, Commissioner Gordon and the redhead watch a show together called "The Pumpkin Princess."
Barbara's father is a very kind and kind-hearted person. The main reason he moved to Gotham was because of Barbara, her daughter was very important to him. He would not bear that something will happen to him.
"Ready for our father-daughter night, Babs?" Commissioner Gordon asked with a smile as Barbara was in her pajamas.
"I suppose." Barbara said somewhat bored.
"Oh, I almost forgot the popcorn. A father and daughter night is not complete without popcorn." Barbara's father said as he walked into the kitchen and put on an apron.
Barbara just sighed as her father prepared the popcorn and sang the pumpkin princess song however Barbara heard the ringing of a telephone. But it wasn't just any phone.
"Oh my god. Batman's phone. Dad, phone !." Barbara said as she tried to get the attention of her father but it was useless, the sound of the popcorn prevented Commissioner Gordon from hearing her daughter. On the other hand, Barbara would show a smile before sneaking into her father's small office.
"Hello, Commissioner Gordon. What's up Batman?" Barbara asked as she imitated her father's voice.
Batman began to speak in a low voice which caused great difficulty for Barbara to understand what he was saying.
"Oh sorry Batman, could you repeat it? You know my hearing is not like it used to be." Barbara said still imitating her father's voice.
"What Batman meant is that a Gotham villain escaped and is in Metropolis. Will they send help or what?" Robin's voice spoke on the other end of the phone.
"Do you want butter on your popcorn, my little pumpkin princess?" Commissioner Gordon asked from the kitchen.
"No thanks dad !!." shouted Barbara before covering her mouth realizing a mistake, she was still on the call.
"What was that?." Robin asked confused.
"Oh sorry, sometimes I call myself a pumpkin princess, anyway. I'll be there very soon." Barbara said as she ended the call and ran quickly to her room.
"Our time has come mate. Tonight, today we are going to show Batman that we are ready to be a part of his family." the redhead said excitedly.
"Barbara, the popcorn is ready!" Commissioner Gordon said making the redhead run back to the room where his dad was.
"Oh dad, I'm very sleepy. I think I'll sleep early today." Barbara said as she pretended to be tired.
"But." Barbara's father tried to say a word but the redhead would run to her room.
"See you tomorrow, dad !." Barbara said as she left, leaving her father alone.
"But, today is our father and daughter night ..." Commissioner Gordon said sadly, there was a particular reason why he moved from Gotham. It was to be closer to his daughter.
Barbara was now in her hero outfit and now she was outside the house. The redhead quickly approached her scooter and she would rush off, not realizing that the phone was ringing again and this time. Her father answered.
"Batman? What? Okay. I'll go right now, I have to wash dishes." Commissioner Gordon said as he got into his car and left the house at a slow pace.
Barbara would be driving at full speed while avoiding all the cars with great ease.
"This night will be unique, nothing will stop us." Barbara said excitedly but when she turned to the side she would see her father's car which made her panic and hide between the cars.
"Shit, Dad. What are you doing here?" Barbara asked herself as she prevented her father from seeing her.
On the other hand, Commissioner Gordon would be eating a donut while listening to a tape to better understand teenagers.
Barbara's bad luck only increased when she had to stop at the red traffic light. The worst thing was that she was right next to her father.
Barbara's father was calmly eating his donut until he looked to his right and saw a skateboard without his companion, which caused great confusion to the man.
"What does this thing have?" Commissioner Gordon took a good look at the donut before looking back down the road, when he saw that the light was now green. When he started to move forward, he would throw the donut out into the street believing that she would have something strange, on the other hand Barbara was hiding on her scooter the whole time until her father left.
No matter how hard Barbara tries to get rid of her father, she always fails. He drove on rooftops, jumped a bridge using a propeller on his scooter, he used multiple forms but in each one of them he always saw his father until in an oversight his father's car had a small accident in the exhaust pipe causing everything Barbara's suit gets dirty.
Barbara was now at a service station with a roll of paper to clean herself, being in front of Batman in a dirty suit was disrespectful for her. When she paid for the roll of paper she began to clean herself until she noticed her father in front of her as he looked at a box of donuts.
"Oh for the love of God !." the redhead shouted now annoyed which caused everyone to look at her again. When Commissioner Gordon turned to see what happened he could only see a roll of paper on the floor.
Barbara was about to get on her scooter when she saw her father's car. The redhead turned and she noticed her father in line to pay for his donuts, which would have time to do a little thing.
"I'm sorry dad, I love you. But you're suffocating me." Barbara said she as she began to remove the air from her father's wheels.
"Barbara?." the redhead froze and turns to see what behind her I was while she looked at this in disbelief.
"Barbara, do you know that this is a crime and that someone could get hurt?" I asked still shocked by my friend's action.
"Benja, I can explain. You see, Batman called my father's phone and said a Gotham villain was here so I decided to go as fast as possible, but my father always followed me. So I did this so he couldn't follow me ". Barbara said with some embarrassment.
"So where is that villain?" ask curious.
"He's at the pesticide plant. Why do you ask?" asked Barbara confused, however she would see how my body was covered in fire and when the fire disappeared I would have my hero costume.
"I'll go with you, I think you'll need some help." I said smiling while looking at Barbara.
"Are you sure benja ?." Barbara asked as she looked at me.
"If he's dealing with a Gotham villain and especially that Batman must defeat he must be a very strong opponent. I think you'll need a little help to beat him." I said as I approached where the redhead was.
"Alright Benja, let's go." Barbara said smiling. The redhead would quickly get on her scooter while I on the other hand would start flying and so we would both go quickly to the pesticide plant.
It did not take long, when we arrived we would see that there was no sign of a vehicle which meant that Batman had not arrived yet.
"Alright, Batman isn't here yet. Come on buddy, we have a villain to defeat!" Barbara said as she grabbed her Batman plushie and started running.
"Batgirl wait for me !." I screamed as I tried to keep up with him but I would see something that would leave me completely worried, the whole building began to be covered with huge stalks. Without thinking twice I started running as fast as I could to stop Barbara. I knew who could do something like this.
"Very good villain, show yourself." Barbara said seriously as she looked around.
Everything around him began to shake and he would see how the ceiling would begin to crack showing a couple of stalks.
"Elemental Wizard, is that you?" Barbara asked something scared but she would realize that I was not with her. She suddenly a couple of stems would attack her but she quickly she would use a pair of batarangs to cut the stems, despite having managed to cut them, the stems kept moving forward.
Barbara started running to lose the stems, but no matter how hard she tried, the stems still weren't leaving her alone. She ran until she reached a room where she would find the person responsible for this. Poison ivy.
"Poison Ivy ?." Barbara asked as she looked at the villain.
"Funny, for a minute I thought you were Batman." Poison Ivy said as she sat on a throne made of stalks.
"Really!?. Is it because of my ninja movements? Because of the costume?" Barbara asked excitedly without realizing that in her hands were a couple of stalks which she released with some embarrassment.
"Put this plague in its place, my dears." Poison Ivy said as two carnivorous plants attacked Barbara. The redhead would quickly use a cane to prevent the plants from attacking her, she would quickly take advantage of her opportunity to attack but the villain quickly stopped her using a plant, when the plant opened its petals it would let out a very strong aroma which caused Barbara to be careless and received an attack from a stalk.
"Sorry, I would love to stay here but I have to go." Barbara said as she started to run, however Poison Ivy would follow her behind her to prevent her from escaping.
"Race to the mint line." the redhead said as she kept running.
"Agh, are you serious !?." yelled Poison Ivy annoyed.
Barbara had reached a dead-end room full of plants, when she looked back she would see the villain approaching at high speed which made Barbara panic.
"Stop following me!." Barbara yelled as she dodged another Poison Ivy attack and ran quickly to the window.
"Come on Batman, where are you?" Barbara asked as she lit a bat signal but she would see that in the sky the signal did not appear.
"That disgusting signal only works in the polluted sky of Gotham." Poison Ivy said as one of her stems hit Barbara's flashlight causing her to smash on the ground.
"I tried to save that toxic garbage dump, but no matter how hard I tried. Gotham City is lost, but. Now I have my chance to save Metropolis and give it back the wonderful forest it lost years ago." said the villain as she approached some plants while Barbara tried to escape.
"Do you know how I'm going to do it?" suddenly a huge amount of stalks would come out of the ground and catch the redhead.
"Exterminating all plagues !." Poison Ivy yelled as her stalks left Barbara against the wall leaving her completely immobilized.
"Humans are just nasty pests in the garden of life. Lobsters, termites, cockroaches. That's what they are!" the villain yelled as she caught Barbara with a vine and brought her closer to where she was.
"I will exterminate them all, and no one will be able to stop it. Not even a girl in costume like you." Poison Ivy said as she looked at Barbara.
"Air Element: Wind Scythe !." suddenly a strong gust would cut the stem where Barbara was and Poison Ivy would see with hatred who was responsible.
"Tree killer!" Poison Ivy screamed as she looked at me.
"Batgirl, are you okay?" I asked as she stared at Poison Ivy.
"Yes, I'm OK." Barbara said as she stood up with some difficulty.
"I'll finish you off first and then I'll take care of her." The villain said as she attacked me but she would quickly take Batgirl like a princess and we would leave the place.
As we left the room, Batgirl and I would be running over a small bridge while there was some toxic waste underneath, before we could do anything Poison Ivy would stand in front of us with a smile.
"There is no place to hide, you are lost." Poison Ivy said as she attacked us with some vines.
Barbara and I started fighting the best we could with the Poison Ivy vines but they surrounded us very quickly, Barbara was the one who had the most complications. She was throwing batarangs as fast as she could when she suddenly, with slight carelessness, she was about to fall into a huge tank full of toxic waste.
"Not Batgirl !." I yelled as my eyes changed to a mint green, Poison Ivy watched with shock as my hair turned green and from the ground a couple of stalks would come out of the ground and catch Barbara to prevent her from falling on the toxic waste.
"Batgirl, are you okay?" I asked as the stems gently leave Barbara right in front of me while Poison Ivy still stared at me in disbelief.
"I'm fine Elemental Wizard, thank you." Barbara said with a smile.
"It can't be, he has the same powers as me. There was only one way to find out if it was a coincidence." Poison Ivy whispered as a couple of plants came out of the ground and faced me and Barbara. The plants opened their leaves and released a purple gas.
"Elemental wizard, watch out!" cried Barbara as she pointed to the plants. Seeing this, I began to concentrate the magic and two plants came out of the ground in front of me. Poison Ivy watched in surprise as my plants began to absorb the gas from their plants that they had released without much difficulty.
"Good work, elemental wizard." Barbara said smiling.
"No problem." I said smiling. Poison Ivy looked at me with a smile, her suspicions confirmed. She and I had the same powers, but she also remembered that she was also capable of controlling fire and air which she could use to her benefit.
"Wow, we seem to have a pretty flower among pests." Poison Ivy said with a smile, taking advantage of a small oversight a couple of stalks would pop out of the ground and catch me.
"Elemental Wizard !." shouted Barbara as she tried to help me but a couple of creepers would stop her.
"You better go home little girl, I have some things to discuss with a pretty flower." Poison Ivy said as a plant approached where I was. The plant opened its petals and released a small magenta gas. I could not move my arms because they were trapped and I would end up breathing in the gas which would act as a small sedative making my body weak.
Barbara was about to attack Poison Ivy but a huge wall of stalks blocked her way while Poison Ivy led me to a room far from the place.
"Elemental Wizard !." cried Barbara as she started to run as she searched for some way to find me.
Poison Ivy and I were in a room where it was illuminated by the moon, the windows gave a beautiful view of the city of Metropolis while I was still trapped in the stems.
"So what are you going to do with me? I guess now you're going to get revenge for what I did to the tree, right?" ask a little tired. However, Poison Ivy would make a hand signal and her stems would let me go which surprised me quite a bit.
"Trust me. Right now I'd be composting you for my cuties, but let me ask you something." Poison Ivy said getting my attention.
"How do you see the world?" Poison Ivy asked as she looked at the city of Metropolis.
"Well me." before she could continue speaking Poison Ivy intervened.
"I mean. How do you see the world, despite its contamination." said the villain without taking her eyes off the city.
"Well, our world is a beautiful place despite the pollution." I said while not looking away from Poison Ivy.
"You are wrong. This world is not beautiful. This world stopped being beautiful, when you plagues arrived." Poison Ivy said with some annoyance.
"Listen, I know it makes you angry that we are polluting the world. Believe me, if there was a way that the world would save itself from a greater danger of pollution believe me that I would be willing to do it. It is not too late to save the world, we may comment mistakes. But we learn from them, so that in the future. They won't happen again. " I said as I stared at Poison Ivy.
"Really? Would you do anything to save the world?" Poison Ivy asked with a smile.
"Anything." I said while still looking at the villain. Poison Ivy would turn to see me with a smile as she held a flower that had appeared in her hands.
"Join me." Poison Ivy said without hesitation as she approached where I was.
"I saw what you did, you have the same powers as me. We are two souls that must be together, we can be the salvation of this world and return it to how it was before, together we will end these plagues and return the world to normal." Poison Ivy said as she looked at me with a smile.
"Are you crazy? I want the world to be a place without pollution, but I don't want to stain my hands with innocent people. I'm not going to join something like this." I said while trying to activate an element but before I could do something some stems would force me into a chair.
"If you don't accept the easy way, I'll have to do it the hard way," Poison Ivy said as she approached me with a flirtatious smile.
What are you doing? "I asked as my face turns red when Poison Ivy sits on my lap and puts on a lipstick.
"You will be with me one way or another." Poison Ivy said flirtatiously as she slowly approached my face.
I tried to move or activate some element but I couldn't concentrate and couldn't move my head due to some vines. Before she could kiss me, Barbara kicked her, causing Poison Ivy to fall to the ground.
"Stay away from my partner." Barbara said seriously as she faced the villain.
"You fucking plague. I should have taken care of you sooner." Poison Ivy said annoyed as she watched as Barbara released me.
"Elemental Wizard, are you okay?" asked Barbara worried.
"I'm fine, but I'm a little too tired to use magic." I said while I was still somewhat affected by the gas that Poison Ivy used on me.
"Don't worry, elemental wizard. I know who can help us." Barbara said as she showed her Batman doll.
"Haha, really? Do you think a simple doll will stop me?" Poison Ivy asked mockingly.
"He is not a doll, he is the bomb !." shouted Barbara as she pulled a small cord on the doll, little Batman's eyes began to shine and the redhead would without hesitation throw the doll to the center of the room.
Before I could say anything Barbara quickly put a gas mask on me which only left me confused for a few seconds. Batman's doll would explode as he released a toxic gas that effectively affected all Poison Ivy plants.
"No, my precious ones. What did that bitch do to you?" Poison Ivy asked as she coughed from the gas.
"Ha, not bad for a little girl who wears a costume right?" Barbara asked mockingly as the villain fell to the ground unconscious.
After a few minutes, Batgirl and I left the factory while I on the other hand was carrying Poison Ivy.
At that moment we both heard the noise of a vehicle arriving at the place, Barbara when seeing this would show a smile due to emotion.
"It's Batman !." cried Barbara in excitement.
When the car door opened, Barbara and I were striking a hero pose until we noticed that it was Barbara's father.
"Dad? He said, ahem. Hi Commissioner Gordon, what are you doing here?" Barbara asked as she faked Batman's voice a bit.
"Elemental wizard? Batgirl? What are you two doing here?" Barbara's father asked as he approached us.
"You know, fighting crime, and fighting an outbreak." I said I was showing a dizzy Poison Ivy on my back.
Commissioner Gordon had put Poison Ivy in the passenger seats, until suddenly he would get a call from Batman.
"Hello Batman, don't worry. Everything is settled." Barbara's father said as he spoke to the Gotham hero.
"Thanks to Batgirl and her partner." Barbara said as she tried to get Batman's attention.
"No, you don't have to come anymore. We already have Poison Ivy." the commissioner said while he was still talking to Batman.
"Thanks to the help of Batgirl and her partner." Barbara said as she kept trying to make Batman listen to her.
I just just laughed a little without realizing that Poison Ivy was forcing the doors a bit.
"Alright, I guess I'll go home. Thanks for the help guys." Commissioner Gordon said as he looked at Barbara and me.
"You're welcome, Dad, he said. Father of a lucky son. If he has children, I clearly have nothing on that information." Barbara said as she looked around her.
"You know, he still asked me why you're not Batman's sidekick? You're so much better than Robin's goofy, he doesn't even have style." Commissioner Gordon said making Barbara smile at her father's words.
"I agree with you, Commissioner Gordon. Batgirl is better than Robin." I said as she looked at Barbara with a smile, the redhead had blushed a bit but she would show a smile upon hearing that.
"You know elemental wizard, you are a very good person. Surely if you met my daughter, the two of you would make a nice couple." Barbara's father said. That comment made Barbara and I blush with embarrassment upon hearing that.
"Hehehe, I agree with that." Barbara said a little embarrassed without realizing that she said it out loud making me turn red as tomato.
The 3 of us turned around hearing the sound of the car doors opening and we would see that Poison Ivy had escaped.
"Guys, do me a favor. Please don't tell Batman." Commissioner Gordon said watching all this with a drop of anime style sweat just like Barbara and me.
Now I was at home lying on my bed while I was sleeping, the effect of the gas had already worn off but I was still somewhat tired so I would be sleeping peacefully to regain strength. Without realizing that someone else was in the room.
"So, my suspicions were real. You are the elemental wizard, I must admit that I am still upset by what you did to the ancient tree." a voice said as he gently caressed my cheek.
"Still, you will be of great help to me. Once we are together, we are both going to exterminate these plagues that pollute our world. And it will only be for the two of us." said her voice as she leaned in and gave me a kiss on the cheek leaving the mark of a red lipstick.
The figure that was in the shadows approached the window and thanks to the moonlight it would be seen that that person was Pam.
"Don't worry Benja, your identity is safe with me. Now rest, my pretty flower." Pam said with a flirtatious smile as a couple of stalks helped her out of my room.
So far the new chapter for today. I want to thank the user again for giving me an idea for this chapter, I hope that with this chapter I can make up for what happened in the previous chapter about the tree.
I hope you are enjoying the story and I also hope you liked today's chapter. I hope you have a nice day, a good afternoon or a good night. Goodbye, dattebayo.
