CH 21
"I'm coming with you" Nikki said as she open the door and got out
"Nikki, no"
"Pete I'm coming with you, we work as a team ok plus it my turn to give them a piece of my mind"
"Nikki they my sisters let me handle them"
"and I'm your wife Pete remember"
"i know that"
"Dam"
"what wrong" Pete asked
"We forgot to get tooth brushes" Pete smile
"Very funny"
"Well, lets go and take care of your sisters"
"ok, but I'll do the talking"
"I'll back you up"
"i know you will"
Mike and Kate watch them talk in front of the car till they hug and kiss then they walk towards the entrance with there arms around each other.
"they remind me of us" mike said
"Yes they do, but I wounder what they mean by tooth brushes" mike smile
"i know what it about Nav told me" mike said.
Kate turn to him "Care to tell me" mike told Kate about the phone call from the police and what Nikki said. Kate laugh.
"that sounds like Nav"
"It sure is"
Fifteen minutes later they saw Pete and Nikki walk out of the police station with Karen and Lisa. Pete said some thing to them before Nikki pull him away from them and walk down the steps then Nikki stop them both under a tree, she turn to Pete and said some thing to him, Pete put his hands on his hips as he turn to look at his sisters.
Then Nikki put her hands on to his face and made him turn to look at her. She said some thing to him which cause him to nod. Then she lean forward and kiss him. When they pulled back Nikki said some thing then they saw Pete close his eyes as Nikki talk.
Then they saw him start to smile till he open his eyes then pull Nikki into a hug for a minute then they pulled apart and kiss once more. They talk for a minute then they turn and walk over to where mike and Kate is. They both got in and close the door
"Every thing ok Buffer"
"Yes sir"
"Nav"
"Every thing fine now sir"
"It didn't look it when you both walk out of the police station." Kate said
"Karen and Lisa were saying things that was getting Pete angry. He had words with them both, but it was two against one. I was out side while Pete was in side with them and two officers. I went in and I said a few choice words"
"Choice words Nikki, they were having a go at you cause we both in the navy"
"I know, but remember what I said to them and the language I use" Pete grin
"Yeah, you swore like a true sailor and the things you said, boy you sure shock me"
"i know, remember I was brought up the navy way and learn a few things, not just from my dad and brothers" she said smiling
"don't I know it and the two officers, they sure raise there eye brows and relies that Nikki isn't a person to mess with" Pete said grinning
"Let just say that I not only gave them a lecher, plus some thing that they both needed"
"what was that" mike ask as he and Kate look at them
"Few home truths." Nikki said
"they didn't like what Nikki said so I said my bit. they couldn't handle it" Pete said
"I even told them about there clothing they were wearing. They didn't like what I said"
"you both were being honest" mike said
"Yes we were sir"
"Now they got a lot to think about as they walk back to mum place" Pete said.
"Ok, before I forget, Kate there marriage license" Kate pass Pete there marriage license
"thanks" Pete said
"I fax a copy to Watson bay and to NAVCOM when we arrived at the hotel. Commander Marshal call me while you two were in the police station. Commodore Newman received the fax and has got marriage commendations sorted out for you both"
"That great news sir, thank you" buffer said
"your welcome."
"Mike you said commodore Newman"
"Yes why"
"David, Newman"
"Yes..." then his eyes widen
"oh no" Kate smile
"Oh yes, I wounder if he remembers us"
"Well we shall see"
"Who is he sir, X"
"commodore Newman use to be captain on Hammersley when Mike was a midshipmen"
"Really sir" Nav asked while smiling
"Yes he was and when I had shore posting cause of my pregnancy he was the CO of Sydney navy base"
"If it is him sir, Kate, he in for a shock"
"We know" mike said
"Is there any where else you need to go" Kate asked
"sub way, we told mum that we will bring some thing home for lunch" Pete said
"Ok, where is the nearest subway" Mike asked
"I know" Kate said
"ok you will have to...navigate me to get there" mike said causing Nikki and Pete to laugh
"Oh don't you worry about that mike" Kate said smiling.
They put there seat belts on then Mike started the car up then drove it to sub way after Kate told him which way to go till he park out side of it. Pete and Nikki got out of the car and walk in side to see what they got. Mike and Kate decided to do the same.
When they got what they ordered and paid for. They got back into the car then Mike drove them back to Vicky place. When they arrived there and got out. Mike got there bags out of the back of the wagon and pass them to Pete
"Thanks Sir"
"no worries, see you both this afternoon"
"Ok" They walk around of the back of the house while Mike got into the car and drove to his parents place.
When Nikki and Pete walk in side "mum we back"
"Hey, I was wondering when you going to show up" Vicky said from the kitchen
"Well we are here, I'll take care of our bags" Pete said as he walk out of the kitchen
"I'll put the kettle on for a drink and we can have lunch" Nikki said just as Victor who is Vicky brother walk into the kitchen when he heard voices
"Where Peter"
"Putting our bags in his...our room, we brought lunch"
"that great, how was the party after we left"
"Still going, every one left just before three this morning"
"Really"
"Yes, Pete and I were shock to see swain, Sally, Captain and Kate down in reception area"
"did they stay at the hotel for the night?" Vicky asked
"Yes they did"
"did you and Peter get any sleep?" victor asked while grinning
"Some but we planing on getting couple hours this afternoon"
"couple of hours aye" Vicky said while raising her eye brows at Nikki
"Yes, we both need our rest"
"Ah ha"
Nikki took the bags over to the table then she went got the cups, milk, sugar and put them on the table when Pete walk in. He look at his mum and uncle who was grinning then he turn to look at Nikki Who was pouring the water in the tea pot.
She turn to Pete "Are you ok" she asked
"Yeah, what were you three talking about before I walk in here"
"Two hour nap" Vicky said smiling
"Well we didn't get much sleep this morning"
"Wedding night will do that to a couple" victor said making Vicky laugh
"Very funny" Pete said
Nikki pick up the tea pot and walk over to the table just as Pete did and sat down
"where Karen and Lisa" Vicky asked
"Walking mum after what they said to me and Nikki in front of two officers"
"surely it wasn't that bad?" victor said
"it was, believe me it was. It was so bad, Nikki yell at them both and she swore like a true sailor and what she said to them both, it not only shock me, but the two officers as well" Vicky look at Nikki with raise eye brows
"what did you say to them"
"home truth, they didn't like it, even Pete told them a thing or two before we walk out of the station."
"they didn't like being told the truth and what I though of them" Pete said
"Ok so what happen to them"
"they are being charge for disturbing the peace and assault on two security guards and four navy sailors"
"i didn't relies it gotten that bad"
"it has mum and I told them both and the officers that this was the last time that I'll bail them out and for the officers to make a note of it on there record that from now on if they get into trouble don't call Nikki or me"
"It the only way for them to learn" Nikki said as she pour them the drinks while Pete sorted out who has what.
They change the subject to the wedding yesterday and the reception that was after wards. How every one had a great time. After lunch they talk for an hour before Pete and Nikki went to sort out there bags and to have a rest.
Vicky and victor were in the living room watching a movie when they heard bang, bang, bang noises. "what was that" victor asked as he look at his sister.
"so much for there two hours of rest aye" Vicky said smiling
"you mean..."
"Yes, his room needed to be sound proof with the way they going" victor laugh
"sounds like it alright. It good to see how happy he is"
"Yes he is, did he tell you how they meet?"
"Yes he told me every thing. It is an amazing navy love story"
"Yes it is" She said smiling
Later that afternoon. Mike and Kate pulled up in the drive way. They saw Nikki and Pete walk around from the back of the house carrying two bags each. Then they saw Victor pushing Vicky wheel chair behind them. Mike got out of the car so he could pop the boot then went to open it since Nikki and Pete arms were full.
"Buffer, Nav"
"sir" they put there things in the boot, then mike close it.
Buffer and Nikki walk over and gave Vicky and Victor a hug before they got into the car. They wave to each other while mike drove back down the drive way then turn to drive to Watson bay.
"buffer have your sisters arrived back yet?"
"Yes just before you showed up. They look rather sun burn since they walk for over fours hours."
"Really"
"Yeah, soon as they saw Nikki and me, they started yelling at us. Mum yell at them. Boy she was mad at them both. She told them to pack there bags and leave cause of all the troubles that they have cause for our family"
"Good on her" Kate said
"that what I said to her when my sisters walk out of the room. She said he felt good" Pete said
"It must have been a long time coming" mike said
"Yes it was sir" Buffer said.
They talk about other things till Mike stop at the guard house. They all show the guard there navy ID's before he let them thought. Mike drove over to the parking area and park the car. Then they all got out and look around as they walk tow the back where Pete open the boot then he got Nikki bags and pass them to her, then he got his own while Kate was doing the same.
Once the boot was close and doors lock they walk to the accommodation building where a lieutenant there check there ID and look down to see what rooms they are in, then give them a key each. Then told them which way to go then they walk to the elevator where they use it to get to the third level. Then they look around and went opposites directions to find there rooms.
When Pete and Nikki found there's. Pete use his key to unlock the door and open it. Then he walk in with Nikki behind him. She close and lock the door then walk in and look around
"nice" Nikki said.
There was a queen size bed, table and two chairs, TV, beer fridge, microwave. There was double closet, so Pete walk over to it and open it. He hung his uniform bag up then Nikki pass her's to him so he could hang it up. Then they put there bags on the ground and open them then they open the draws so they could unpack there things.
"Nikki"
"Yes Pete" she turn to him to see him looking at what in her hands which made her smile
"White, lace is that what you brought when you and Kate went shopping on Friday"
"Yes, remember me showing you them"
"Oh yeah I remember" They put there things away.
Then they put there bags in the closet then walk over to the bathroom on suite. Nikki open the door and walk in with Pete behind her. They put there bags on the bench as they look around the room. There a walk in shower with a shower curtain in one corner, toilet in another and hand basin and bench in another.
"Nice a walk in shower" Nikki said smiling
"Yeah, it sure is, plenty of room for two" Nikki laugh
"your right" they turn around and walk out of the bathroom and over to the bed where they sat down on it
"comfortable" Pete said
"Yes it is." Nikki lay down on the bed looking at Pete who turn to look at her
"worried about your mum"
"Yes, I know that uncle victor is there. But there so much he can say and do"
"I know. He got our number if he needs to call us"
"True. He finally decided to retire and now he here till next year"
"good on him. Pete what about his family"
"We all he got Nikki"
"what about his wife and kids"
"He wife past away twenty three, twenty four years ago from a car accident. He survive it, but she didn't. They were married for five years. She couldn't have kids."
"I'm sorry to hear that" Nikki put her hand on Pete leg
"It was hard on him. Dad invited him over about two months after the accident. When I saw him, he was skin and bone. He wasn't looking after him self, he was working all day barely stop to eat, he was working him self to death. He stay for a month, in that time my sisters and I try to cheer him up. Till on night I woke up when I heard some one crying..."
"your uncle"
"Yes, I went into his room and got into bed and snuggled up to him I remember telling him. It going to be ok and that he not alone. I remember him holding me in his arms, he was saying that it wasn't ok. I said to him it will be just like when grand dad died. We help Grand ma and now we want to help you. He relies I was right."
"and you did help him"
"Yes we did. He spoil us with coke and ice creams and of cause getting into trouble with mum about it. It took him a while to get over the grief"
"Well at lest he still got you and your sisters"
"i know but after what he heard and seen, he not happy with them"
"but he prod of you"
"Yes except for getting you pregnant before getting married. That was before I told him every thing. He under stood and meeting you and seeing they way we are together. He knows how special you are to me"
"how special am I to you" Pete lean over and kiss her kips
"Your are the second most important person in my life" Nikki ford her arms
"Second" she raise her eye brows which Pete smile
"After mum"
"that I do under stand"
she then wrap her arms around his neck and pulled him down for a passionate kiss till there was a knock on the door which cause them to brake apart
"some one got bad timing" Pete said making Nikki laugh as Pete got up to see who it is. When he open the door.
"sir, X, come on in" they walk in
"We hope we weren't interrupting any thing" Kate asked when she saw Nikki sitting up then standing up
"Talking about families" Nikki said smiling as she walk over and pick her purse up then step forward
"shall we I'm getting hunger"
"sure" Pete said. They walk out with Pete closing and locking the door then they walk to the elevators while talking about different things.
Mike drove them in to town to a bar and grill for dinner. They enjoyed there dinner as well talking about there weddings. Kate and mike told Nikki and Pete about there hens and buck breakfast.
"sir you were lucky to get out of proper bucks night" Pete said
"I know but it sure was different, no hang overs, no strippers. I did get out of it ok"
Mike and Kate told them about there honey moon, where they went and the things they did. "sounds like you two had a great time away" Nikki said
"Yes we did, have you two thought of a belated honey moon?" Kate asked
"Yes we have, we planing on going to Italy and France for two weeks" Nikki said
"Really, when are planing on doing it"
"soon as we can save up for it, but that won't be a while and with Vicky health. We going to wait, so for now we going to make the most of what we got now"
"that a great idea" mike said.
They talk about other things for the next hour before leaving once dinner and drinks were paid for. They return back to Watson bay where they meeting up with Charge and Swain at the wardroom bar. When they walk into the room Nikki and Kate went to the ladies toilets since they needed to use them while Mike and Pete look around for charge and Swain.
"Over there sir" Pete said Mike turn to see where Pete was looking at Charge gave them a quick wave so they walk over to them
"Swain, Charge settle in ok"
"Yes sir, where X and Nav?" charge asked
"Ladies room" Pete said
"ok, so how was your wedding night buffer?" charge asked
"Short, did you enjoy your self"
"Yep sure did, the crew behave them selves"
"Yes they did if not tooth brush duties" Buffer said
"that true" they talk and laugh for a few minutes till swain saw Kate and Nikki.
Kate gave him a quick wave while they walk to the bar to get a drink. "I wounder what they talking about" Kate said as she and Nikki saw them laugh then turn to bar
"Most probably giving Pete tips on how to keep me happy"
"to late for that" Kate said smiling
"True"
"Hello ladies what will it be" the bar tender asked
"Beer and white wine please" Kate said
"Two beers please" Nikki said
"sure" then he turn and walk away
"Kate three o'clock we got in coming" Nikki said.
Kate turn to see four guys looking and smiling at them then they started walking over to the bar. Kate turn to Nikki then turn to where Mike is, he saw her then saw she was giving him hand signals, then he saw the four guys walking over to them he gave Kate a nod.
Then she turn to Nikki "mike watching us"
"you mean, you, Pete will be watching me"
"Your right about that"
"Hello ma'am" Kate and Nikki turn to the four men
"Is there a problem" Kate said
"no ma'am we was wondering if we can buy you a drink"
"no thank you, we are fine. Thank you for the offer through" Kate said
then turn to the bar tender who put the drinks on the bar. Kate and Nikki paid for the drinks then pick them up and turn around
"Excuse us we meeting up with sexy sailors" Nikki said as she pick up two bottles of beer while Kate pick up the glass of wine and bottle of beer then follow Nikki over to where the others are.
