Leeves, Erebonia

The streets were quiet this afternoon amongst the vibrant atmosphere of the community. Almost nobody was expecting new students to come to Thors Military Academy - Leeves II Campus. Admissions for new students have reached a record low just recently. Because of concerns that the campus was "cursed" and that people have been missing. The community responded by pasting "missing posters" on the walls around houses and fences. So far, no tips or leads on the cases of missing persons have been unveiled.

At a nearby coffee shop, "Instructor" of Class VII Rean Schwarzer was sitting on one of the tables whittling a wooden sculptor for his free time. He looked stoic, not a glint of expression nor enjoyment for his motivation of cutting the sculpture appeared on his face. He used the shiv he made to carve up new words to write a symbolic meaning, hinting at ghosts or phantoms.

A worried figure in the distance started to approach him, it was a girl wearing an instructor's outfit prescribed.

"U-Um, Instructor Rean." The high-pitch feminine voice from the girl made him recognize her. "I-It's me, Towa Herschel of Class IX."

Rean stops whittling for a second stoically and looks Towa in the eye. "Instructor Towa, why are you here?"

"The reason I'm here is that I've been getting complaints about you, Rean." Instructor Towa elaborates for him as she sits down fretfully, biting her lip. "From what I heard, the complaints against you were really concerning. I have never seen an instructor employed at Thors reach such a high degree of volatility before."

"Why in Adios's name should I care?" Rean sighs as he goes back to work on whittling his sculpture.

"I care because this will impact your career as an instructor!" Towa couldn't help but give a bitter disposition to him. "Not to mention, your students... Mine have been telling me that some never show up to class nor do any activities you instruct them to do."

She gives him a glare to his face. "Tell me, Rean. Tell me why weird things have been happening around Thors after Great Twilight. What is going on? And where is there so much absence happening all over the place?"

Rean throws the wooden sculpture on the table, spooking Towa as she startled back. "That's none of your business." He delivers a scowl at her. "Whatever happens to them is not in my control. So stow away the overthinking and leave."

"T-The Rean I know wouldn't be so asocial like this!" Towa could only give a bitter stare at him agitatedly. "Rean, I can't do my job like this when these concerns are piling up like a mountain! We need to do something, otherwise, the reputation of Thor's will be severely tarnished!"

Rean only ignores her, he picks up the wooden sculpture he threw on the table and goes back to whittling it. Not darting an eye at her.

"R-Rean, are you paying attention?" Towa looked flabbergasted the moment Rean chose to ignore her. "P-Pay attention! This isn't some kind of shenanigans or misadventures our students are playing, this is serious!"

Constantly and constantly trying to get his attention in many ways, Towa had reached her boiling point, getting ready to attack Rean. Until she saw him complete his wooden sculpture and puts it down on the table.

"See me in the conference room by tomorrow afternoon." He suddenly replied as he looks at her stoically.

"This is so sudden, I..." Towa raised an eyebrow confused awkwardly. "Why the sudden shift of caring where these people went?"

"Because your desire to grab my attention was annoying." Rean clasped his hands on the table formally to her. "Just remember to be there on-time around three in the afternoon. Otherwise, this meeting you started is just another waste of my damn time."

"O-Okay, but under one condition." Towa stares at him with uncertainty resting over her shoulders. "Promise me this meeting is all about the missing people in Thors. That includes the students and the faculty, as well."

She continues, giving him a stern stare at his face. "Nothing more, nothing less. Is that a deal?"

"Sure, whatever it takes to find this heartless taker will be on the table between you and me." Rean relaxes his hands behind his head. "You should go back to work now, Towa. This meeting is adjourned."

"R-Right. Thank you so much for caring, Rean." Towa gets up from the chair and departs back to the Leeves Campus, jotting a few notes down on her clipboard. Leaving Rean on the table staring at her as she leaves. Nodding slowly as he constructs a plan for himself once he and she are there in the conference room.

It delivers an eerie ambiance as Rean phones the staff at Thor's about this meeting regarding the "missing people's" case, ensuring that it will happen once the campus closes its doors.

"Yes, I'll let the student council and president know about this." Rean says over the phone stoically. "Mhm. The school will be under a state of emergency. Just don't get anyone else involved, that includes the Imperial family and the Railway Military Police too. I'm already a Divine Blade, so there's no reason to call in backup in case things go south."

He nods as one of the staff, Thomas Lysander, was about to hang up. "Roger that. Consider it taken care of." Rean hangs up the phone, gets up from his chair, and leaves to do his job.

Meanwhile

Rean proceeds to stab her body viciously multiple times after her tea is spiked with a sleeping drug. Her bloodied and lifeless body splashed on Rean's clothes in her blood as he proceeded to lay back on a wall, panting hysterically about what he had done. But the deed was done, Towa was dead. Now the only thing Rean could do was to dispose of the corpse before it was too late.
