"Eddie! What are you doing up there?"

Eddie paused what she was doing and gave Jamie an unimpressed look. It was Sunday dinner once again and Eddie went to get a glass from the kitchen. She was thirsty.

"Getting a glass for some water. Would you please stop being so overprotective. I'm fine."

Jamie gave an exasperated sigh and lowered his voice, getting closer to her.

"I don't want the two of you getting hurt. Please climb down off the chair and let me get the glass for you."

Eddie huffed in annoyance and got down off the chair, moving it back to the kitchen table and pushing it in.

"I can do things all by myself Jamie. I'm not incompetent."

Jamie nodded and handed her the glass of water.

"I know that babe. Now let's going back to the table and get you something to eat. Are you feeling dizzy at all? Nauseous?"

Eddie swallowed and shook her head, powering ahead of Jamie back to the table. Truth be told though, she was feeling a little more than dizzy, but she wasn't going to dampen everyone's mood after her and Jamie broke the news about the baby.

"Sorry everyone. I just needed a glass of water. I don't know why I'm so thirsty today."

Danny looked at Eddie and smirked but aimed his question at Jamie.

"What's going on kid?"

Jamie nodded at Eddie and squeezed her hand.

"Eddie and I have an announcement to make."

Everyone around the table stopped mid chew and placed their forks on their plates. Frank spoke up with a serious look in his face.

"Go on."

Jamie was about to answer but Eddie squeezed his hand and sat up straighter even though it made her dizzy spell worse.

"Rip the bandaid off Jamie. I'm pregnant."

Danny nearly choked on his swallow of wine.

"You two didn't waste any time did you?"

Linda gave Danny a dark look.

"Danny. Not in front of the boys."

Danny pretended to be shocked.

"What? I didn't say anything…"

Everyone else at the table spoke at once.

"Congratulations!"

Erin was the first to add to the conversation.

"So Eddie, when are you due?"

Eddie managed to smile even though the dizziness was downright awful.

"September 16th."

Jamie noticed her discomfort and saw her reach for her glass of water. He helped her hold onto the glass so she could drink. She shook her head after two swallows of water and pushed the glass away.

"Uh uh. The baby doesn't like the water right now. Excuse me…"

Eddie all but ran from the table and into the bathroom, losing what little food she had in her stomach. Once she was sure her stomach had stopped betraying her, she flushed the toilet and sat against the wall with her eyes closed. Taking deep breaths to reign in how dizzy she still felt. She heard a knock on the door but didn't want to open her eyes. It only made the dizziness worse.

"Eddie? You ok in there babe?"

Eddie answered with her eyes still closed.

"I'm ok…"

She suddenly felt a washcloth against her forehead and one on the back of her neck. Then Jamie's calming and gentle voice in her right ear. He was sitting behind her and pulled her into his lap.

"Just breathe babe. Just breathe. The dizzy spell will subside. Just give it a few minutes. Relax and let yourself forget about what your feeling right now."

Eddie nuzzled her head into Jamie's neck and stayed there.

"How do you do that? Stay so calm?"

Jamie whispered into her hair.

"Shh. Just concentrate on your breathing. Forget about what your feeling and let yourself relax. There you go. Good."

Eddie smiled and sighed.

"This would be fine if we were home. But this is your dad and pop's house. I'm feeling better now. Should we go and join everyone else?"

Jamie looked at Eddie seriously and helped her to her feet.

"How do you feel? Do you still feel dizzy?"

Eddie didn't shake her head she only answered.

"No. I feel better now."

Jamie poured some mouthwash into the cap and handed it to Eddie.

"Here."

Eddie looked at her and then at the mouthwash in the cap.

"Jamie…"

Jamie smirked and shook his head.

"Don't worry, that mouthwash is mine. I hide a small bottle of it under the sink just in case I need it."

Eddie gave him a look he couldn't quite read.

"You keep mouthwash here? But why?"

Jamie continued to smirk.

"For when I stay over. But I'm not a bachelor anymore. I'm a married man. Married to the most beautiful woman in the city who is carrying my baby."

Eddie smiled and put the cap back on the mouth wash and took it with her out of the bathroom. Jamie still held her in his arms and they walked out together. He placed a kiss to her neck and led her to the sunroom. Erin smiled but gave her a concerned look.

"You ok Eddie?"

Eddie managed to nod and took a seat next to Jamie.

"I'm fine. But the dizzy spells and the morning sickness are no joke."

Erin nodded and squeezed Eddie's hand.

"I remember those days. What helped me get through the morning sickness was peppermint tea. The dizzy spells should go away in a week or two. Well, now that you've got a little one on the way, Linda and I would like to take you shopping."

Eddie gave a light laugh and then jutted a thumb at Jamie.

"I'd love that. Tell me, has your brother here always been so overprotective? He practically chastised me in the kitchen for standing on a chair in the kitchen to get a glass down from the cupboard on the top shelf. He claimed that the two of us would get hurt if I wasn't careful."

Erin gave Jamie a look.

"I know you mean well Jamie, but Eddie is capable of doing things. She'll let you know if she needs help. I know you just want to keep them safe. Helping others is what you do. I guess that's why you became a doctor huh?"

Jamie smiled and kissed Eddie's forehead.

"Yeah. But I also knew I'd make waves in this family by choosing to become a doctor instead of becoming a cop."

Pop took this moment to speak up.

"Jamie we're proud of you. Never forget that. I have a feeling my gg is going to be a girl. I have just the perfect little dress for her."

Jamie smiled and looked at pop.

"Well, it'll be at least another eight weeks before we find out if we are having a boy or a girl."

Pop frowned and looked Jamie in the eye.

"Well, I just have a feeling this baby will be a girl."

Jamie and Eddie smiled. Eddie was fine with either one, but Jamie was hoping for a girl. That way he could spoil her. Even get her a pony. If they had a girl. He was now jumping to complete conclusions. They were still weeks away from finding out the sex of their baby. It was all about patience now.
