Danny slammed his hand on his desk and gave a frustrated sigh.
"Who is this Marty Hollinson, Baez? You got anything on your end?"
Maria Baez sat across from Danny and was scrolling through Marty Hollinson's arrest record.
"Martin 'Marty' Hollinson. He's 50 years old. He was born and raised in Astoria. He murdered four families. Armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, burglary. His arrest record goes back to his early teens. It could take weeks to go through his record, and it's time we don't have. Looks like your sister had him put away for 50 years."
Danny blew out another frustrated breath and stewed for a minute and then spoke.
"What makes you think he could've been the one to kidnap my sister, little brother and Eddie?"
Maria looked at Danny and raised her eyebrows.
"Jamie and Eddie are a family. That fits his MO. I think he took Erin as payback for putting him away."
Danny felt his blood begin to run cold. Not my family.
"Jamie, its too hot."
Sighing, Jamie shook his head. Marty's goons had given them bottles of water to stay hydrated, but the warehouse was old, and the late summer sun was making it hotter inside because of the tin roofing above.
"I know babe. Have some more water."
Jamie was giving Eddie a lot of his water. Her and the baby needed to stay hydrated. Eddie looked at Jamie with tired eyes.
"You need to stay hydrated too babe. I found an exit. But it's on the far end of the warehouse. There's way too many guards."
Jamie ran a hand through Eddie's hair and kissed her forehead.
"We'll get out of here, ok? I won't let our baby girl be born in this place."
Erin watched the whole scene unfolding in front of her.
"I should've paid more attention to how Marty was acting during the trial. He's got a lot of contacts. He must've had someone on the inside. I'm sending him back to Sing Sing. After what he did to those four families."
Jamie swallowed and answered Erin.
"I would rather not hear the details on that. We can't last more than a couple of more days in here if this heat wave keeps up. We'll suffer from heat stroke."
To be honest, Jamie was getting very irritated with the way they were being treated. If he could just convince one of Marty's goons to let them go, it would lessen his stress and worry he was having for Eddie and the baby. One of Marty's goons came over towards the three of them with three cases of bottles water.
"Here. This should keep the three of you hydrated for a while. Look, I don't exactly agree with what Marty's doing. He wasn't supposed to take all three of you. He was only supposed to only take you ADA Reagan."
Erin looked up at the man with the scruffy looking beard and hazel eyes.
"Why work for someone like Marty Hollinson?"
The man looked nervous.
"We were supposed to just get you and demand ransom money. That was it. But Marty had other ideas. He honestly scares me. Killing those four families. I didn't come to work for him by choice. He said that if I didn't take you, he was going to hurt my family. I've got two little girls and a wife."
Jamie's eyes widened and he looked the scruffy bearded man in the eye.
"What's your name?"
Shifting his eyes back and forth, he lowered his voice.
"Carson. Carson Stevens. You delivered my niece Jessica. All 13 pounds of her."
Jamie shook hands with Carson.
"Nice to meet you."
Carson fixed the last case of water and looked at Marty as he came towards them.
"You gave them water, let's go, I'm starving."
Carson looked Marty in the eye.
"They need to eat too Marty."
Marty gave an exasperated sigh.
"I know that. But ADA Reagan needs to give me a deal before I even think about giving them food."
Carson nodded but wasn't really paying attention to what Marty was saying. He was a few steps behind Marty when he stopped.
"I'll be right back; I forgot my phone."
Marty narrowed his eyes at Carson but nodded his head.
"Ok. Be quick."
Marty headed out the door and Carson pulled some food from the refrigerator. Quickly walking over to Jamie Eddie and Erin, he gently handed them the food.
"Here's some food. I got some extra for your wife Doctor Reagan. It's not much, but it's something. I gotta go. Marty will be pissed if he finds I'm in here giving you guys food."
Carson rushed out of the warehouse. Jamie handed some food to Eddie.
"Have some food babe. Looks like turkey with mashed potatoes. Your favorite."
A tired smile came to her face.
"I'm not going to say no to mashed potatoes babe."
Jamie smiled and kissed Eddie's forehead.
"Baby girl needs protein."
Erin dug into the salad she got. It was a chicken salad. But it was something to eat. She wouldn't turn it away. It was food. Eddie put her fork down and gasped. Erin and Jamie looked at Eddie.
"What's wrong?"
Eddie swallowed and let out another gasp and then laughed.
"She kicked! Baby girl is ok."
Jamie nodded his head and placed a hand on her belly, rubbing it gently. His smile grew as the thumping continued.
"There you are baby girl. You had mommy and daddy scared there for a little bit."
Erin gave a small smile and then looked Jamie in the eye.
"I hope Carson knows the risk he's taking by helping us. Marty won't be too happy if he finds out."
Jamie and Eddie both nodded. They knew they were all in a deep mess still, but that Danny and Maria, 35,000 NYPD officers and Frank and Pop were all out there looking for them.
