Little something for Valentines day, let's see how the Rusherz learn about the day of Romance ;)
Be mine, be ours
February 14, 1920...
The weeks went on and soon January had past. Peck had been making plans to meet with and join the Cardinals, though still he and the others were at the White house as shelter. Stadiums could only give them so much. It was the fourteenth of February and Talon, the Falcon's Rusher, had noticed alot of couples out that day.
Talon: Whoa...lots of people out today, and what's with all the red and white?
Edith Wilson: Is something the matter Talon?
Talon was invited by Edith Wilson for a walk around the park, so she was confused as to the Falcon's own confusion.
Talon: Mrs. Edith Wilson, what's with all the red and white? Is this an event?
Edith Wilson: Well, today is Valentine's day, alot of couples are out together today.
Talon: *More confused* Valentine's day?
Edith Wilson: It's a celebration about love-wait, have you not celebrate any event or holiday?
Talon blushed at that, fidgeting.
Talon: We-we did have festivals, but that was long before, well, you know who came into the picture.
Edith eyes soften at him, going down to his level.
Edith Wilson: It's Alright. You all are still adjusting to our world, so our cultures and traditions are new to you. Don't be afraid to ask any questions.
Talon nodded. He was confused about this day, noting he had to find the others when he got back.
Later at the White house...
Peck: A day of love? So is it like a day of courtship or something?
Talon shrugged, having told the others on the holiday...and potential future ones. They were in one of the libraries as a meeting place.
Stampede: Well, since we're living on this planet now we might as well get accustomed to their traditions and cultures..
Lasso: So, we find out what this Love day is about.
They nodded as looked around reading the covers and a few pages of the books. It was a while until-
Freedom: *takes some out* Hey, think I found some!
The group turned as Freedom sat down in the center with the other Rusherz congregating around.
Freedom: Okay, so, it is said that the name of the day dates back to a person names Saint Valentine-
Alto: SAINT? Is he a Rusher?
Freedom: No-human-and apparently he's one of the creator's guys. Remember the legend when he said he would come in 'Many forms and religions'.
Alto nodded as Freedom continued.
Freedom: Priest in Rome who preached a thing called Evangelism, yeah the Creator had a game plan, and he was *pales;horror*-PARDON?!
The Rusherz looked over reading the page, paling fast.
Blow-Torch: *hidden horror* Shards of the core he was BEATEN TO DEATH AND BEHEADED!
Swoop: I swear these humans are bloodthirsty when they want to be. May I ask WHY?
Freedom: Apparently legends say he married couples behind a emperors back. YEESH, that one governor had the right idea about our romance-Humans are strange.
They were quiet for a while there.
Liberty: Freedom, can you find anything else about this day that does not include executions.
Freedom: *Fast* yeah yeah brilliant idea.
Freedom turned the pages skimming them as he goes.
Freedom: *stops* Okay, the day was built upon some basis. First is poetry-
Scavenger eyes brighten there.
Scavenger: Poetry?
Freedom: *points to a line* Here's one-Je suis desja d'amour tanné
Ma tres doulce Valentinée, English "I am already tanned with love my very sweet Valentine".
Scavenger came closer hearing it.
Scavenger: Who said that?
Freedom: A duke from a place called Orleans called Charles d'Orleans. Thus guy was locked in a tower during a battle but still had time to write to his wife!
Scavenger looked on in awe, Freedom smiling seeing the Ravens interest as he temporary handed him the book.
Scavenger: *awe* Look at all these. Their beautiful. This John Donne sent them via birds for a couples wedding, and look at these writers! William Shakespeare, Edmund Spenser, Joseph Johnson-!
Scavenger was beaming as the rest chuckled.
Chief: Maybe we can find a book full of these poets later. This seems to have caught your interest.
Scavenger nodded as he handed the book back, thanking Freedom.
Freedom: *to continue* Usual Valentines are cards, sweets mostly chocolates and/or sweethearts, and roses.
Blow-Torch:-So um...what do they DO THEN AFTER the gifting?
Freedom: *reads over* Just a date only it's special.
Freedom closed the book as the Rusherz mulled the information over.
Freefall: It sounds like what we would do but-there seems to be a lot missing there.
Peck: Yeah...maybe there some stories about love that could help us.
Freedom nodded taking the other book.
Freedom: Alright William, let's see what that governor meant by out romancing you?

President Woodrow Wilson walked the halls with his wife looking for the Rusherz. They had all vanished after hearing that Talon wanted to talk to them and it had been a few hours since they had seen them, Edith theorizing that he wished to tell them about the holiday today.
Edith Wilson: I hope they are doing well. Talon looked so confused when I told him what today was.
President Woodrow Wilson: It is understandable, they are new to our world and still learning about it. All we can do is give them time and take baby steps.
They went to one of the libraries and opened the door-ONLY to see the Rusherz in tears shaking reading a book.
Edith Wilson: *worry* OH DEAR! Are you boys alright?
They looked up seeing the President and first lady, wiping their eyes.
Pillage: Dear shards why does this guy love tragedy?
President Woodrow Wilson walked over looking at the book, recognizing the contents.
President Woodrow Wilson: Ah, William Shakespeare. One of histories finest sonnets writers and theatrical producers. *looks at the page* And you seem to be on Hamlet.
Beast: Yeah, It's just-this guy is going through so much GIVE HIM A BREAK! And he just lost the love of his life thanks to some scummy Uncle who killed his father, and he couldn't even be with her cause his uncle and her father think they are unfit for eachother COME ON! YOU TWO JUST KILLED HER!
President Woodrow Wilson: Oh dear, um Freedom may i?
Freedom handed him the book and the President closed it.
President Woodrow Wilson: MAYBE we should read about this on a later date. By the looks on your faces you been researching today?
They nodded, explaining what they learned so far.
Fang: There are so much missing from romance. Humans and Rusherz romances are so different here.
Edith Wilson: Ah yes, we figured as much and i can see it being confusing thanks to your lesson Freefall.
The Rusher and President Woodrow Wilson blushed madly, but nodded. They had to admit she had a point. The president was the first to calm down.
President Woodrow Wilson: As much as that was, an awkward lesson and day for all, Edith is right. Though we are glad you are researching about our world, please do not overwhelm yourselfs.
They nodded in agreement.
Liberty: Well, then maybe we can get a response to our question. What is Valentines day to you?
The two looked a bit surprise at the question, before thinking. It was quiet for a while until-
Edith Wilson: Valentines day, is another but special day to show your appreciation. To some, they do not have a partner yet they celebrate it with family and friends. Being their 'Valentine', does not mean they have to be your romantic partner, they can be your family and friends. Schools have these parties where children give cards to their parents and their friends. One this day, love conquers all so to speak.
President Woodrow Wilson: So, that what Valentines means now these days.
The Rusherz mulled this over...then smiled and nodded.
Talon: That makes alot more sense. Thank you two. So-I guess we're all your Valentines?
The two laughed at that with joy, making the Rusherz join them.
President Woodrow Wilson: Well i don't see why not? Oh yes, Freefall?
Freefall walked forward as the President smiled.
President Woodrow Wilson: Wanted to let you know, your little lesson had caught the interest of the dean at Georgetown University?
Freefall: University?
President Woodrow Wilson: It is a upper level school for those who graduate or wish to further their education. He was actually there that day and took a peek in your lesson. Yes he was, flustered like the rest of us but he was also fascinated with your knowledge on medical and functions of the body, as well as your fast learning on the human body.
Freefall: *eye rose a bit* And?
President Woodrow Wilson: Freefall, have you even wanted to increase your knowledge on the medical field for your friends?
Freefall went quiet, turning to the others who were concerned.
Freefall:-Absolutely. I-I'm worry I might not be enough one day to help or save them
They president nodded taking out a letter.
President Woodrow Wilson: Well, think of this as my Valentine for all your worries.
Freefall was given the letter as the Rusherz went over. He opened it up taking out a paper and began to read.
Freefall: 'Freefall the Seahawk Rusher; *eyes widen to shock as he reads* you are formally invited to come and study at the Georgetown university. All details and payments will be handle to so please call us when you are ready'-He wants me as a student?
Edith Wilson: Yes! He was very pleased with your attitude and knowledge so he asked us on the matter. However, this is your decision.
Freefall re-read the letter a few more times before turning to the others.
Freefall: What do you think?
Steed: I think it's AMAZING! This planet wants you to come to one of their HIGH RANKING education systems!
Rampage: This will give us alot more access to this world and give us an opportunity to socialize with them more than in here.
Liberty smiled nodded as he went over.
Liberty: We're routing for you Freefall.
Freefall smiled big, turning to the President and first lady.
Freefall: Tell them, I'm all theirs.
Meanwhile..
A man sat looking over paperwork, seeing the stats and skills of each man joining the team. He looked up at the calendar at a circle date, in ink it had a reminder on it.
