With the first Memorial Day (or Decoration Day back in 1920) with the Rusherz on Earth, Freedom feels he is out of place and not deserving of his own Rusher Namesake-till he meets a Human Patriot.
Definition of the Patriot
White-house; May 30, 1920...
Woodrow Wilson:-And this day was made, to commemorate and honor the fallen soldiers who fought for freedom, justice, and righteousness.
The Rusherz were in the main room listening and the president explained the very significant day today. It was a day to remember soldiers who had fallen in battle and the President wanted to share this day with their new friends.
Toro: Wow..i think its' a great idea to remember them with an entire day.
Woodrow Wilson: I as do many others agree. It is very important that we remember all who have fallen during wars, from our current military branches to our ancestors the Patriots-
Freedom: Patriot?
All turned to Freedom, who had been listening in silence on the information.
Freedom: You-had patriots here?
Woodrow Wilson nodded in confusion, which turned into realization remembering how Freedom was dressed when he first met the Rusherz-he looked like a minuteman. He sat up bringing a book over and opened it, handing it to Freedom.
Woodrow Wilson: Correct. Patriots was the name given to the thirteen colonies during the American Revolution. In fact, *points to a picture* Your outfit when we first met matches their uniform.
Freedom eyes widen staring at the pictures in awe as the others look.
Swoop: Look at that! Looks like we landed in a good place for you Freedom, you have the entire country to choose a location!
Freedom was silent as he looked at the picture-he felt like he was a outliner compared to the Patriots here on earth.
Later...
Freedom walked around the city lost in thought. Patriot-it had a whole different meaning on Earth than Cordalion. He felt more out of place now given the information he was given. Was he-worthy of what he was now since he was in a place where the name meant a whole new meaning. He stopped at a building. He saw it had the flags of the country the Rusherz landed in adorn around it. He walked inside, seeing more around. He walked around a bit before he stopped at a poster. It was a man saluting in a way Freedom had not seen before.
Freedom: Is, that how they salute here?
Freedom position his feet following the poster. He stood firm in his back before he placed his hand to his forehead, mirroring the Poster.
?: Well, you got that on your first try. Took some of us a while to get it right.
Freedom fell forward nearly face-planting the floor before turning around. He saw a man dressed in military uniform and glasses with a smile on his face, his face in practice patients and experiences.
Freedom: *flustered/worry* um I am sorry i was-well i was-
Man: It is quite alright, i know this is a whole new world for you Freedom.
Freedom's flusterness and worry vanished as he blinked.
Freedom: How- How do you know my name?
Man: Mr. President has told us all about you and the others Rusherz.
Freedom eye rose at the name, then it clicked.
Freedom: Oh Woodrow.
Man: Correct.
The man gave the salute to the Patriot Rusherz.
Major General Frank W. Coe: Major General Frank W. Coe.
Freedom eyes widen, before he repeated the action back.
Freedom: F-Freedom the P-Patriot Rusher, sir!
The Major General couldn't help but give a heartfelt chuckle.
Major General Frank W. Coe: At easy, and it is a pleasure to meet you.
But stood normal as Freedom could feel his worry fade a bit.
Major General Frank W. Coe: What brings you here today?
Freedom: Well, i saw the building and got curios to be honest. I-I've been lost in thought lately today.
The Major General offer Freedom a seat as the tow sat down.
Major General Frank W. Coe: Something been bother you?
Freedom: Well-I-I learned what a Patriot was here in the US and-i can't help but feel like I'm a outlier and-of what i am.
Major General Frank W. Coe:-A Patriot Rusher. Interesting.
Freedom: I-I'm worry that i might not live up to what the Patriot is defined here in your country, or for-for those who died protecting it form the evils.
The Major General nodded, before placing a hand on Freedom shoulders.
Major General Frank W. Coe: Do you know what the definition of the Patriot is?
Freedom shoke his head as the Major General gave a proud smile.
Major General Frank W. Coe: A Patriot is "one who loves and supports his or her country". A Patriot is the highest level of pride and respect that is equal to that of the founders of the country who were the first patriots. And do you know what those characteristics are shown for that definition? *again Freedom shoke his head* Loyalty, love and the desire of being part of a community.
Freedom eyes widen at that.
Freedom: That-That's just like me! W-What i was taught before-before i lost my home.
The Major General smiled warmed at that.
Major General Frank W. Coe: Well then, you don't have to worry about being outliner or out of place here. I'm sure the men will be proud to see there is a Rusher who is from a community like that-and those who have fallen will be too.
Freedom felt his eyes prick with tears, wiping them quickly as he chuckled.
Freedom: T-Thank you sir, i needed to hear that.
It was then another man in military uniform walked in, saluting.
Man: Sir, phone for you.
Major General Frank W. Coe: Thank you very much cadet.
Both got up from the chair.
Major General Frank W. Coe: Duty calls. Now, if you Rusherz need anything just let us know.
Freedom: Thank you Sir.
Both saluted to eachother and said their goodbyes as they went their separate ways. Freedom had a feeling that they would need their help-a for some reason he felt it was not to far in the future.
.
Man: Sir, that was one of the Rusherz correct.
Major General Frank W. Coe: You be right-*Smiles* Freedom is his name. He's gonna fit right in here in the United States.
Later, White-house...
Freedom walked in the hallways, no having more of a pride in his step as he gave a nod to all those he passed. He found the room Liberty was in, as well as Stampede.
Freedom: Liberty, Stampede?
Both turned to him with a smile.
Liberty: Seems you got a lot off your shoulders.
Freedom: Yes. I have a message from Major General Frank W. Coe.
Both: *very confused* WHO?
Freedom: He's a leader in the military. He says, if we need anything just call them and they are ready to help.
Through confused, they smiled nodding.
Stampede: We will be happy to have all the help we can get, thank you Freedom.
Freedom saluted before walking out-both were surprised at the salute.
Liberty: Huh, that's new.
Stampede: He must of gotten it from the books and that Major General.
...
Stampede: *Smiles* It suits him.
Liberty: *Smiles* Yeah defiantly suits him.
.
.
Freedom smiled was he walked, looking at the sky.
Freedom: Don't you worry, I'll do my best to live up to your definition.
Freedom saluted to the sky, pride beaming on his face.
