Today was a good day to be on the beach. The sun was up, the air was somewhat clear, and Luz, Eda, King and I were standing on a sand. "Well, kids!" Eda said as she elbowed Luz. "Did you ever in your life think you'd see something as breathtaking as this?" Eda said as she gestures to the corpse of a trash slug that towers over us. It was surrounded by trash and muck, flies audibly buzz around the corpse.

"I don't like this." Luz said as she shook her head while plugging her nose.

Eda walks to the trash slug. "Yes, it doesn't get much more inspiring than the trash slug. It makes a home, a life from what others have thrown by the wayside." Eda said as she pulls a rubber chicken from the trash slug's mouth and tossed it aside. "Until, blam, it gets blasted by a wave one day and croaks from all the salt. And then we get to sell the stuff it ate." Eda said as she pulled out a pickax from her hair.

"Please don't make me." Luz said, either I looked at her as I understood what she was going through.

"Aw, come on, Luz." King said as he walked away and unfurls a towel. "It's not every day you get to go to the dump and pick apart a garbage carcass." King said as he looked at us with no interest at all.

"Ah, nuts to you both. Dakota?" She asked, with me sighing.

"Seeing as this needs to be done, and it's already dead, might as well." I said as I took off my wooden hands and walked forward, extending my claws.

"You have claws!?" Luz said in amazement while placing her hands on her face, squishing it. Once I reached the trash slug, I started cutting away at it while Eda swings the pickax. "So, Eda?" Luz said as I tossed a empty bottle at the tree to get it out of the way, where the glass shatters. "What if we tried some new lessons for my apprenticeship? Like... Read ancient scrolls or mix together potions, or—"

Eda tossed some random garbage aside from the slugs mouth while I looked at her. "Ugh. That sounds like a bunch of magic school stuff." Eda said, with us looking at her.

"Wait. Is there a magic school here?" I asked, a bit shocked by this news.

"Like, winding towers, cute uniforms, dark plots that threaten your life kind of magic school?" Luz added, with me looking at her.

"Mm-hmm. What's worse, they force you to learn magic the "proper" way. But magic isn't proper. It's wild and unpredictable. And that's why it's so beautiful. I didn't finish school, and look at me! Who wouldn't envy where I am right now?" Eda questioned as she turned to face Luz, flies are flying around the pile of trash Eda is currently standing in. Luz's expression falls in disbelief.

"Maybe give her a quick lesson?" I suggested as being surrounded by trash to a human wouldn't be ideal.

"Uh... Hey, here's a lesson." Eda said as she drops her pick. "A great witch is resourceful." Eda said as she walked over to Luz and takes her hand. She sticks Luz's hand in a puddle of trash slug bile. "Like this!" Eda said as she drags Luz's hand back and forth before letting go. Luz continues digging until she pulls something out.

"Oh, hey. Greasy slime ball." Luz said in disappointment.

Eda closes Luz's hands around the slime ball. "Use your slime ball wisely, young witch." Eda said as she stands and heads back for the trash slug. "Back at it! We'll hit the stink nodes first!" Eda said as I looked from her over to Luz.

"Actually, if it's okay, I think I'll head home and look at pictures of animals that are still... alive." Luz said as she backed away. "Love you, King!" Luz said as she runs kings belly, making him giggle. "You little beach peach." She added as she walked into the woods.

"More for us, then!" Eda said as we went back to digging up trash.

Later

Eda was tying a sack to her staff as King and I watched, where I had my own bag of items I wanted for myself. Some instruments, swords, a gun with no bullets and some gold coins. "Not a bad haul. That oviduct was loaded." Eda said, with me nodding as I agreed with her.

"Ah. Lose apprentice, gain garbage eggs. Fair trade." King said, with me looking down at him.

"That's not very nice." I said, where he shrugged his shoulders.

Eda scoffs. "I didn't lose anything." She said as she turned to us.

"If you don't teach Luz right, who will?" I questioned, crossing my arms as I wanted her to take it seriously.

"And that's when I come in, make her my apprentice!" King said, with me jerking my head in his direction.

"Ha! And what would you teach? How to get stuck in the arm of a sweater?" Eda said, making me laugh at that.

"Hey, that only happened once! I'd teach her about demons. How to identify them, talk to 'em, raise an army with them and tear apart the world!" King said, with me rubbing his head with my wooden hand.

"Like me, but I'm not your appearance." I said, where he swatted my hand away.

"After they tear you out of the sweater arm, right?" Eda added, making me laugh again.

"You think you're so smart!" King said as he hoops off the trash he was standing on towards Eda. "Well, why don't we make a little bet where I can prove that I'd make a better teacher!" King said, where Eda looked at me. I shook my head as it wasn't my place to intervene.

"Okay." Eda said as she reached into her hair. "I'm obligated to remind you that I only use our bets to utterly humiliate you." Eda said as she pulls out a book called "Eda King One Sided Wagers". "And... that you've never won." She said as she opened it.

"I like those odds!" King said while pointing at her.

"You shouldn't." I said, where he looked at me.

"So how's this?" Eda said as she grabs an egg. "Teach this trash slug to be your loyal soldier in one day. Prove that you can be a better teacher than me, and Luz is all yours. But if you don't, I change your name from King to... Mr. Wiggles." Eda said, where I smirked at this.

"Mr. Fluffy Bottoms." I said, getting a grin from Eda.

"That works to." She said, with King looking between us.

"Well, when you lose, you'll have to... wear a shame hat and sleep in a shack and never come into the Owl House again! Ha!" King adds before looking at me. "And you have to call me master! There is NO WAY I'm being called Mr. Fluffy Bottoms!" He said while pointing at me.

"Deal." Eda said, where King squeaks as he stamps his paw to a page. Eda tosses the egg at King's head, breaking it and leaving a baby trash slug between his horns. It slips down his skull, but King catches it. It coos at him.

"Ew." I said, disgusted with it.

Later

Sitting on the roof, I watched as King gave the slug a bunch of dog treats. 'That's totally not going to backfire.' I thought as I rolled my eyes.

"Aw. Who's a good Prince, Jr.? Who's a good guy?" King said as he praised his slug.

Eda sat in a lounge chair drinking out of a coffee mug. "Hey, Mr. Wiggles. You're not gonna teach it anything doing that!" Eda called out, with me agreeing with her.

"It's called positive reinforcement, Eda. And it works wonders!" King called out as Prince Jr. eats the treat King was dangling in front of it and doubles in size. "Ha ha! See? Now watch this. Prince, Jr.! Attack Eda! Knock over her drink! Mess up her hair!" King ordered while pointing at Eda.

"Oh, no. Please stop." Eda said with a deadpan expression.

"Well, I haven't seen your student in forever. For all we know, she's not even loyal to you anymore." King pointed out, with me knowing she wasn't here as I searched for her when we got back.

"Ha-ha-ha, you wish. But yeah. Where is she?" Eda said as she sat up, actually thinking about it.

Later

Eda slammed open the front door, getting a scream of pain from Hooty. "Have you seen Luz?" Eda asked Hooty, with me flipping off the roof and looking him in the face as I wanted to know the answer as well.

"I heard her tiny mouse feet walking close by. Or that might've been some mice. Anyway, someone started moving in that direction." Hooty said as he slightly gestured with his head. Hoo, hoo-hoo, hoo.

"Are you trying to point, or—?" Eda said as she let it trail off.

"Yes, he is." I answered as I tried to figure out where.

"Look at the weather vane!" Hooty yelled, with me and Eda backing up to look at the top of the house.

"But the only thing that way is the." Eda stopped and gaped before turning around. "No." Eda said before taking off, with me following her. "No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no!"

Later

Reaching a castle, we moved over to one of the windows, peering inside. "Okay, everyone. Recite your runes." The spider head woman on the inside said, confusing me on what was going on.

"Krom, Zix, Elgrim, Zenomide—"

"No. Blind obedience!" Eda said, with me following her over to another window. The next room has several older students writing at desks while a snake-like teacher speaks.

"Heximal system time! Let's get memorizin'!" The snake like teacher said as he turned to the students.

"No! Pointless busywork!" Eda said, with me understanding what this place is now as we moved over to another window. We saw Luz, covered in goo, writing along with the rest of the class. "No! Why! School!" Eda yelled to the heavens, making me grin as I walked away, planning to have fun with this so called school of magic.

Later

Walking in through the front doors, I now wore the formal clothes, which I dubbed the playboy look. As I walked, everyone stopped to look at me. The boys in awe and the girls with lust. Approaching one of the teachers, this one being carried by some kind of goo monster, I stopped before him.

"Where would I find the Headmasters office?" I asked, with him pointing to the side. Looking in that direction, I saw a sign that said "Headmasters office." Written on the wall with an arrow pointing to the door. "Great. I am in need of his counsel." I said as I walked towards the door.

Opening the door, I saw two people inside. The first was a girl, who is a thin, pale-skinned witch, with bright golden eyes and pointed ears. Her hair is chin-length, with a ponytail pulling the front hair out of her face, and a mostly covered undercut visible at the temples. Her hair is also a two-toned, dyed aquamarine-green with brown hair, her natural hair color, visible at the roots.

She wears a gray tunic with a dark gray belt, cowl, and boots. As part of the abomination track, her sleeves and leggings are a magenta color. The rest of her attire includes wearing triangle-shaped black earrings and black nail polish. She also wears dark gray, heeled boots, with a light gray top.

The second person was an older man, judging from the wrinkles surrounding his upper lip, with light-beige skin. His upper face is obscured by his palisman, an imp by the looks of it. He also has a sigil on his right forearm. He wears a traditional academic dress consisting of a long black gown with a gold yoke, a black cape, gold trim at the sleeves and cape hem, plus a blue stole draped over his shoulders and black pointed shoes. He also has an orchid abomination coven sigil on the inside of his right wrist.

"What is the meaning of this? Don't you see that I am in a meeting?" The headmaster said as I walked forward, now standing next to the girl.

"Indeed, but with me." I said as I looked down at the girl with a grin. "Step outside, we have some very important details to talk about." I said, where she looked between us in confusion.

"I don't know who you are, but you will leave at once!" He ordered as he stood up from his desk, placing both hands on it. Looking back at him, my grin widened as I let the darkness consume the room, taking all of the light out of the room. They both looked around as fear started seeping into them, making them huddle up together, back to back. Thousands of eyes opened up, staring them down.

It was gone the next second, with both of them looking at me with wide eyes. "Now, girl, leave!" I ordered, with her quickly leaving the room. "As for you, Headmaster." I said as as I watched him sit. "I'm here to collect your intruder." I said as I got in his face by leaning down.

"In-Intruder?" He asked, scared and shocked at the news.

"Yes. See, my... little step sister infiltrated this fine school of magic. She just loves to learn about it." I said as I stood up straight. Sadly, she isn't like you and I, she doesn't belong in the realm of the supernatural. She's human." I informed, shocking him even more.

"W-well... then we... should have her removed!" He said, standing up, but I sat him back down pushing him back down into his chair. "W-was that not right?" He asked, making me grin.

"No, not quite. See, I want to make a... proposal." I said as I took my seat, crossing my legs and folding my hands over my knee. "I eventually would love for her to attend, but not yet. She has much to learn, and as harsh as it may seem, she needs to know her limits." I said with an even larger grin. "I want her to want to come back, and much like her master, she will be drawn to a place she isn't allowed." I said, where he raised an eyebrow at me.

"Her... Master?" He asked, with me leaning forward.

"Eda the Owl Witch." I said, getting a gasp from him. "Get to Luz, you have some control over Eda. I would say even getting some free chores done around here. I also want to humble Eda, show her that through hard work one can affect the lives of others." I said, making him laugh, catching me off guard.

"You, sir, are an interesting person. What did you say your name was?" He asked, making me grin.

"Anorev, Anorev Dalv. I would also like to never be mentioned about this, just between us." I said, with him thinking about it.

"Seems a bit... girly. Anorev, you have yourself a deal!" He said as he stood up, where I did the same and shook his hands. "I'll scare her off campus, put up a banned poster, and later, when the time is right, have her In roll. It would be nice to have a foreign exchange student, especially a human." He said as we walked towards the door. "But, something I must ask... what are you?" He asked, making me laugh as he opened the door, showing that the girl was just outside.

"I'm Death Incarcerated." I said, making her flinch as I walked past her and out the doors.

Later

Returning to the Owl House, I watched as a giant Prince Jr. banged against the shack. "Help me, help me, help me!" I heard king, with me rushing forward. I shoved my hands into its back as I jumped on it, with it screaming in pain as I pulled it into two, tossing both sides of the slug away from each other.

After a bit, both King and Eda stepped out, with Eda wearing a cone of shame. "Everyone alright?" I asked, looking them both over for any injuries.

"We're fine, Mr. Wiggles here just learned that positive what's it doesn't work." Eda said as she took off the cone and threw it into the shed.

"I have no son!" King yelled while pointing at the slug.

"Right... Well, Luz should be home any moment now, so we just have to wait for her." I said as I walked over to the front door and opened it. "Hooty, dinner is served." I said, getting a gasp from Hooty.

"It is!?" Hooty said, where I saw Hooty extend his head and the sound of munching came from outside.

Later

"Eda!" Luz yelled from outside, with all three of us standing up and making our way outside. Once outside, we stood next to the door, where Luz jumped at Eda and hugged her out of fear.

"Hey, hey, hey, hey! What is this?" Eda questioned while King hid behind me as he didn't want to get dragged into it. "Ugh! I never understand when you do this." Eda said as she pushed her off.

"Your lesson worked! Keeping junk in my pocket saved my life!" Luz said before she Gasps. "But wait. My new friends. They're in danger!" Luz said as she remembered something.

"Luz!" A child yelled, with me looking at them, seeing a boy and a girl. The girl is a shorter-than-average, plus-sized and stocky, who has light skin, pointed ears, olive green eyes, and short, neat, dark navy-blue hair with a few loose strands. She wears a pair of round black-framed glasses and the typical Hexside student uniform, consisting of a gray tunic and a dark gray cowl and belt with a gold pin, and gray-black boots. Her sleeves and tights were purple.

The boy, noticeably shorter than Luz and the girl, has brown skin and dark brown hair with lighter shades. His upper lip is curved, similar to Luz's. Like all the witches and demons on the Boiling Isles, he has pointy ears. His eyes are dark blue. He wears a gray tunic with a dark gray belt, cowl, and boots. The color of his sleeves and leggings are a light blue.

They both hug Luz, who happily returns it. "Seriously, what is that?" Eda questioned in annoyance.

"It's called a hug, it's to show affection towards others." I informed, where she nearly threw up.

"You won't believe it, Luz. Everything is perfect now!" The girls said as she broke the hug.

"It's true. I don't believe it!" Luz said in excitement and shock.

"Principal Bump was so impressed by my plant work he's switching me to the plant magic track! Look!" She said as she backs away and snaps her fingers. With a glow of green magic and a twirl, her sleeves and leggings go from magenta to green.

"Yes!" Luz cheers as she hugs the girl once more, making her giggle. "Oh. What about Amity?" Luz asked as she breaks the hug.

"Last we saw, she was asking Bump if today could count as extra credit." The boy said, with me smiling as she was going to be something else, that Amity.

"Well, I can't wait to see you in action next time I sneak in." Luz said, where the girl winces.

"Uh, about that. You're kinda, sorta... banned." He said, where he then pulls out and unfurls a poster reading "BANNED" with a picture of Luz covered in goo under it.

"That's my girl!" Eda cheered as she threw an arm around Liz's shoulders with a grin.

"But we could come here and teach you what we learned." The girl offered with a smile.

"Aw. That would be nice." Luz said as she looked towards Eda. "But... I have a pretty great teacher already." She said with a smile.

"Yeah, that's right. Luz is my student." Eda said as she steals the poster, still smiling proudly. "Back off, academy twerps." Eda said while pointing at all of them, making them laugh. "Ah, baby's first wanted poster." Eda said as she looked over the poster with pride. "Good job, kid. Eda said as she pats the top of Luz's head. "Looks like I taught you something after all." She said as she looked at me. "Unlike you, you have yet to come back banned from anywhere!" She teased, making me grin.

"I'm banned from touching anyone, how about that?" I asked, with her thinking about it.

"Yeah, I guess that counts. You would kill anything you touch." She said as she crossed her arms with a smile.

"Anyways, introductions are in order." I said as I looked at the kids. "I'm Dakota, a Mutant from the Human Realm." I said as I looked to Eda.

"I'm Eda, the strongest witch on the boiling isles!" Eda said as she placed her hands on her hips.

"I'm King! King of the demons! Now kneel before me!" King ordered, where Hooty extended his head next to him.

"I'm Hooty, hoot hoot! I'm also the house! Hoot hoot!" Hooty introduced as he twisted his body around.

"I'm Willow!" The girl introduced with a wave.

"I'm Augustus, but you can call me by my human nickname, Gus!" He introduced with a smile.

"Cool, introductions are out of the way, and it's getting late, I need a nap. Go have fun in the woods kids, leave me out of it!" Eda said with a yawn as we walked back inside, where she crashed on the couch, and I went to my room to get my own sleep.
