Walking out of my room, I remembered the Hexed Graffiti. Walking into the kitchen, I saw the coat lying on the chair. "Does it sleep?" I asked myself as I saw the Graffiti was three dots.
It swirled around and made a hand that was waving. It then turned into a "GOOD MORNING!". I nodded to it as I knew it wasn't asleep, and was fully aware of its surroundings.
"Can I ask you to take shape of two people?" I asked, pulling a chair out and sitting down at the table. "Your creator and the owner of this coat?" I asked, with it giving a thumbs up and swirling around before taking shape of a woman.
I think she was tall, as it was on the back of a coat, slender, in her mid-to-late 40s, with ivory skin, pointed ears, maroon lips, and golden eyes. Her untamed hair is thick, long, and layered with tones of gray. She has a gold fang, orange claw-like nails, and an oval amber gem on her sternum.
"Your creator?" I asked as I pulled my phone out and took a picture of her before it could change forms. The woman gave a thumbs up, with me nodding at that. "Ok, and the owner of the coat, Dakota?" I asked, with it swirling around once more.
It was now a he, and they wore a black office shirt with a white vest on top of it, white pants, white shoes, a red tie, as well as something going on with their shadow. It looked to be a person there but I couldn't tell.
"Can you explain the shadow?" I asked as I took a picture of it. It swirled once more before forming words.
"NOT HIS SHADOW, BUT SOMETHING IS GOING ON WITH HIM. HIS FACE KEEPS CHANGING TO THAT OF A WOMANS." It explained as it turned back to the same image of Dakota but this time he had a woman's face and long curly hair like mine if left untreated.
'Cursed?' I thought as I took another photo. "That will be all. Now, how about we go find that friend I mentioned?" I asked, with it flying next to me as I got up. It eventually set its self on me, with me walking outside and taking to the sky's back to New York.
Later
Landing at the front door of the Sanctum Sanctorum, I walked towards the front door. Pushing the doors open, I made my way up the stairs and into the door to the right. Walking down the hall, I could feel the many eyes looking my way as I walked. Reaching the end of the hall, I pushed the doors open, with me standing in the middle of the room. "Steven Strange!" I called out, waiting for him to show himself.
"He is dispossessed at the moment." A female voice spoke, with me looking up at them as they came down the curved staircase. Female, 5′8, her eye color was blue, White hair, and wearing purple armor like clothing. Her magical aura was that of the Dark Dimension, something Strange and I had recently dealt with.
"And you are?" I questioned as I picked up the furniture, getting ready to attack if I didn't like the answer.
She smirked at me as she came to a stop, holding her head up high. "Clea, Daughter of Dormammu, future Sorcerer Supreme." She said, where I pulled her towards me while throwing the bookshelves at her. She flew out of the way and caught the bookshelves, throwing them back at me. I created a shield and stopped them, with me throwing a rune at her. She moved out of the way and it stuck to the wall, where I started throwing more at her.
She moved out of the way, almost playing with me. Narrowing me eyes, I took notice to her moving her fingers every now and then. "Do me a favor." I whispered as I grabbed the coat on my shoulders. "Get behind her, grab her hands, and I will do the rest." I said as I tossed the coat to the side as I held my hand up, with the runes I tossed earlier growing chains and going after Clea.
Clea looked at them and held her hand out, causing them to shatter. "Is that really the best you can do? Did you really think that taking your coat off would mean that you were getting serious?" She said as she looked at me. She then held both hands out at me, where the coat wrapped around them. "What?!" She asked in confusion as I flew at her. I kicked her in the face, followed by a roundhouse kick that sent her to the ground. Once she crashed into the ground, I sent a rune at her, this one sealing her dark magic and preventing her from attacking me.
"Looks like I win! I" said as chains grew from the rune, trapping her as the coat flew off her hands and back to me, floating in place.
"No fair! No one said anything about a two on one fight!?" Clea said, confusing me on why she said someone put her up to this.
"Where is Strange?" I asked as I gathered energy in my hands, getting ready to send her back to the dark dimension.
"Here." I heard, with me looking up at the stairs and saw him leaning against the railing, looking down at me. He was smirking, almost as if he had achieved some sort of goal. "Wanda, meet Clea, a possible successor to the Sorcerer Supreme." He said as I took notice that he wasn't in his normal garb. Gone was the blue robes, yellow gloves and Red Cape of levitation, now he was in a red and black armor similar to Clea, with the Eye of Agamoto on his chest instead of a neckless.
"Greetings." Clea said, with me looking down at her as she was floating past me, shocking me that she was already free. I watched as she flew over to Strange and sat on the railing, facing me. "You honestly caught me off guard with that coat, I didn't think that there was going to be something like Strange's Cloak of Levitation in our scrimmage." She said as she looked over at the coat.
"Only... it's not, is it?" Strange asked, with me looking at it myself.
"It's Hexed Graffiti, and for some reason it has a mind of its own. I was wondering if you knew anyone who would be willing to put him up on a wall or canvas?" I asked as I looked back at them.
"I know one person, but they won't be able to feed it. Does it eat?" Strange asked, with me looking at the coat as it turned around and wrote "NO!" On the back. "Then it's no problem for him." He said as he stood up right. He waved his hand to the side and the coat flew at the wall and was planted there, until the coat fell and the art was now on the wall.
I walked over and took the coat, looking at it. "Be careful around Clea, I don't trust her." I warned, with me getting a thumbs up and walking over to the bottom of the stairs. I will be off. "Thank you for the time." I said as I left, ignoring them trying to make me stop.
Later
Walking through the halls of the Xavier's school for Gifted Youngsters, I stopped at Xavier's office. He was having a conversation at the moment with someone. After a bit, I watched as the door opened, with Amara walking out with a gag being dragged behind her. She looked at me with a raised eyebrow as she walked past, with me walking in as I wasn't interested in her.
Once in the office, I closed the door behind me. "Wanda? What brings you here?" Xavier questioned as I walked over to his desk and sat down.
"I had contact." I said as I set the coat on the desk. "After all this time, he lives." I said as I placed my phone on the desk and showed him Dakotas new look as well as the Woman. "I am curious if this is Eda?" I asked, with him looking it over.
"This indeed matches her appearance, almost to a T. The picture of the boy however has changed drastically, but it is most certainly him." He said as he moved over to the last image. "What's this?" He asked as he looked at me with a raised eyebrow.
"I do not know. The Hexed Graffiti made a woman appearance of Dakota, and even mentioned that it could not focus on him, almost as if he was constantly changing forms." I informed, confusing him. "It is capable of moving from object to object, and this coat belonged to Dakota." I informed, with him nodding.
"Living art, fascinating." He said as he looked the coat over. "Was it the same door? He asked, with me nodding. "Why are you here?" He asked as he leaned back. "Why come to us with this information?" He added, making me sigh and lean back myself.
"Because I can't be there 24/7." I said as I leaned my head back. "I need to get a message out. Someone I can't find, and haven't spoken to in quite some time." I said, wanting one or two people in mind. "My brother, Pietro, as well as my sister, Polaris as you call her." I said, with him nodding.
"Your sister is here, studying for school." He said as he crossed his hands over each other. "Pietro will be tricky, and there is no guarantee that he will come." He said, with me nodding as I knew he was with father. "I can't say what they will do but for now you can ask Lorna." He offered, where I got up and walked to the door. "History class with Logan." He informed, where I knew where they were.
Later
Reaching the class, I stood outside the room looking in. I looked at all of the kids until my eyes landed on a girl with long green hair. I saw her using her powers to write for her as she leaned back in her chair, looking up at the front of the class.
Looking at the front of the class, I saw Logan talking about World War 2, with Steve Roger's on the board fighting HYDRA. Seeing him sniff the air, he looked dead at me. I nodded towards him and looked back at my sister, who was now looking at me.
I was caught, and I watched as her hand glowed green and pulled it down. A metal barricade blocked the door, making me sigh as she really didn't like me. I walked across the hall and leaned against the wall. After class was over, the barricade was lifted and the kids left the room, with Lorna speed walking away.
"Lorna!" I called out as I walked next to her. "Can we talk?" I asked as she was booking it to her next class.
"As soon as you tell me where Father is!" She said, with me sighing as she still wanted to kill Magneto for abandoning her. Maybe that is what Dakota wanted as well. I would have to find out sometime.
"You know that I can't, he is locked away for his own good!" I said, where she turned to face me.
"Do you even know what he did?" She questioned as she levitated herself as she moved backwards to class. "He made a machine to kill me! What father does that? To a child he never met?" She questioned as I flew next to her.
"I can't answer that, and I don't care for him right now. Right now I'm here to ask you for help!" I said as she turned away from me as we flew over the kids. "I'm trying to help a friend get home, but there is this portal that opens at random. I wanted to know if you could-"
"No, that's your problem, not mine!" She said as she flew into her next class, leaving me there to think of her answer.
"Fine, then I will just ask Pietro." I said as I flew back to the office.
Later
Reaching the office, I saw Charles leaving. "Is something wrong?" I asked, with him nodding.
"Pietro has rejected your offer to meet. That means you are on your own." He informed as he rolled away. "I have a meeting to get to, I do hope for the best." He called out as he left me there. I rolled my eyes as I walked away, not happy with either of them.
Later
Camila Noceda found herself sharing a table with me once again. As I sipped my coffee, Camila looked at me with curiosity. "So, how's your search going, Wanda?" She asked, leaning in slightly over the table. I set down my mug, a faint smile playing on my lips. "I've found a lead, and it's here in Connecticut." I said, doing my best at hiding my disappointment in my siblings.
Camila's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Really? That's quite a coincidence." She said, her mind racing with questions.
I nodded, my gaze steady. "Yes, it's a bit unexpected, but I've learned to expect the unexpected." I replied, my voice steady and confident. "I've got a place to stay, too." I informed, wanting her to know that I would be staying here. I did enjoy our conversations.
Camila's interest was piqued. "Oh? Where are you staying?" She inquired, her curiosity getting the better of her.
I smirked, a mischievous glint in my eyes, "In a shack I found in the woods."
Camila looked surprised. "A shack?" She repeated, a bit confused.
I nodded, my smirk widening. "Yes, a shack. I had Tony fix it up for me. Even got Captain America and Black Widow to paid a visit." I said, enjoying Camila's shocked expression.
Camila's eyes widened in awe. "Wow, that must be some shack." She said, her mind filled with images of what a shack fixed up by Tony Stark might look like.
I chuckled at her reaction. "You could say that. Would you like to see it?" I offered, raising my coffee mug to my lips.
Camila blinked, taken aback by the offer. But her curiosity won out, and she nodded eagerly. "I'd love to," she said, her voice filled with excitement. "Thank you so much for the invitation, Wanda. I really appreciate it. But I don't think I'll be able to make it today. I have some prior commitments, but I promise I'll find a time to visit soon." She said as she stood up, grabbing her purse.
I nodded with a smile. "No problem, Camila. Just let me know when you're free, and we'll arrange something." I said with a wink as I drank my coffee.
"Definitely." She said before sitting back down. "Oh, and speaking of keeping in touch, Luz is actually at a summer camp at the moment, I remember telling you about that. They don't allow phones there, so we've been communicating through letters. She's been writing about her experiences, and it's been really nice to hear from her." She said, with me looking down at my cup as I wish I could have a conversation with Dakota, learn who he is, what our connections are.
Though, it's odd about kids writing letters when they tend to use their phones. Camps now day don't take their phones away for reaching out to family and friends. "That's interesting. It's rare these days for people to communicate through letters, especially with all the technology available." I said as I looked at her.
"Yeah, I know it's a bit old-fashioned, but Luz has always had a fondness for writing and expressing herself in that way. It's actually quite endearing." She said with a small laugh.
"I can understand that." I said as I too had liked to write time to time. "It's good that she's finding ways to share her experiences with you, even without modern technology." I said as I leaned back.
"Definitely. I just hope she's having a great time at camp and making new friends." She said, both happy and down about the choice.
"I'm sure she is." I said as I looked down at my cup. "Kids usually have a blast at camps like that. Just let her know I say hi when you write to her next, and that I can't wait to meet her." I said, getting a smile out of her.
"I will." She said as she stood up. "Thanks. I'll keep you updated on how she's doing." She said as she left with a wave.
"Sounds good." I said as I waved her off as well. "I look forward to hearing more about her." I said to myself as I looked out the window.
Later
I returned home from my coffee outing with Camila. However, as I settled in, my mind wandered to a Dakota. I struggled to recall his face and the memories we had shared. Frustrated, I decided to take out my phone and began to project the image of him in front of me using my magic.
The holographic projection materialized before me, and I gazed at the unfamiliar face, trying to grasp onto any memories associated with him. As I concentrated, flashes of moments spent together failed to resurface, but they were fragmented and elusive.
"Will I ever be able to get him to forgive me?" I questioned as I reached out to the image, placing a hand on his face as it flickered.
The weight of my words hung in the air as I pondered the question. I had been through so much, and the choices I had made in the past had brought about consequences that still haunted me. I longed for reconciliation, for a chance to make amends, but the uncertainty of whether it was even possible weighed heavily on my heart.
As the image flickered before her, I closed my eyes, delving deep into my memories, hoping to grasp onto something, anything that would bring me closer to finding the answers I sought. I knew that finding forgiveness, especially from someone she had hurt deeply, would not come easily. But I was determined to try.
