I've mentioned before that I am writing plot ideas for my remaining prompts in advance, mostly because they are easier to figure out when I need a break at work. Well, I'm happy to say that I, officially, have only 20 prompts left to write plot ideas for! And that is at the time that I am writing for this prompt. Including my interludes that I have written, I have a total of 156 chapters that I will write or have written for this compilation. By the time that this prompt is actually posted, I will more than likely have finished out all of my plot ideas and be almost done (if not completed) writing all of the prompts. So, thank you for sticking with me through this and here's to the remaining one-shots!

Also, this is the first time that Jacoba met Trench and is pre-Amazon Returns interlude.

Another note, they have recently started showing trailers for a new Expendables 4 movie. Please just know that I will NOT be using this movie at all in my one-shots. Personally, I am good with just utilizing the original 3 movies, so I will leave it there.

The legalities: I do not own any of the Expendables franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au.Rated M just to be on the safe side.

Also, please don't be afraid to write reviews. I would love to hear from you all!

Hope you enjoy!

Prompt: "You-you are- "

"Beautiful, a genius, immensely talented."

"Dangerous."

Trench wasn't exactly sure what was going on. He'd gotten a call from Barney asking him to stop by the hanger when he had a moment. They hadn't really been able to talk much when he'd gone with Church to help take down Vilain a while back. So, really, the last time Trench had really talked to his "oldest worst friend" (Barney's words, not his) was when the Expendables had come and "saved" him and that Chinese billionaire before that whole cluster that followed. He wondered what warranted a call a couple of months on.

So, here he was, getting out of his vehicle just outside the hangar. Curiosity had gotten the better of him, which is why he actually came. Shaking his head, Trench started toward the door, seeing Barney standing there with his arms crossed.

"Big Barney Ross."

"Bigger Trench Mouse."

"So, what's so important that you called me over here, Barn?"

Barney sighed as he tilted his head back, indicating for Trench to follow him in. as they walked, Barney told him about a mission that the team had taken about two months before the mission to take down Vilain, where they'd come across a young woman who, from what they could tell, had been kidnapped.

"What do you want from me, Barn? You guys got her back to her family and that should be it, right?"

"Well, Bonaparte dug up a bunch of stuff up on Jacoba, as she likes to be called, and that's why we had had Bonaparte take her back to her family. It's been about four months since then. But Lee's girl, Lacey, found her hitchhiking through Alabama and brought her back here to us. Bonaparte stopped by yesterday and said he'd try to keep her under the radar. So, he's game for it. And if you could just help us keep her safe, that would be great. I just don't think that the guys will be much help with some of the protection at times."

"Why?"

Barney scoffed and nodded to the sitting area in front of them. "See for yourself."

Trench looked up to see a young woman seeming to be holding court amongst the men of the Expendables. She was sandwiched between Toll Road and Gunnar Jensen (though she was glaring at the latter) with the rest of them sitting around laughing their asses off. Then she caught sight of them and smiled wide. Next thing that Trench knew, she was standing in front of him, hand outstretched and a bright, innocent smile on her face. "I'm Jacoba, what's your name?"

Trench's eyes widened as Barney started to chuckle. "You – you are – "

Jacoba tilted her head to the right, not losing her smile for even a moment. "Beautiful. A genius. Immensely talented."

Barney began to chuckle even louder as Trench rolled his eyes and furrowed his brows at her. "I was going to say dangerous."

"Eh," Jacoba shrugged. "I've been called worse. Come on, come join us." She then proceeded to pull him into the sitting room, dragging him into the conversations. Barney smirked. It seemed that Jacoba had pulled someone else into her little makeshift family.
