What is a flow state? To some, it is a positive experience which is key for relaxation and meditation. For others, it is a state where an individual can be fully concentrated on a task and do their best work.

This can also be where action and awareness unify, and in Japanese, it is also called the Ikigai.

*BEEP* *BEEP* *BEE-* *SMASH*

As my alarm goes off over and over I eventually press the button to turn it off, but I end up hitting it off my bedside and it breaks.

'Shit, I didn't mean to do that, now I gotta use my phone for my alarms'.

Once I get dressed and ready, I walk to Aldera Junior High

Being in my final year of junior high is a real drag, but the best part is getting not only our career forms, but being able to go to high schools. Namely, those being hero high schools. UA is definitely where I want to end up, and through there I will become my journey to being a top hero.

Also, going there gives me a good chance of never seeing that Bakugo idiot ever again, no matter how skilled he could be with his quirk.

"You third years need to start seriously considering what you are going to do in the future.." Our teacher says, I think. I wasn't really paying attention.

But what did grasp my attention was when he said "I know you all want to go to the hero track" While my teacher looked dead in the water saying that, all of us students were beaming with energy. However, some of us weren't using it all that well.

"Don't be comparing me to this bunch of losers teach." Someone uttered, and without me even trying to figure it out I already know that it's Bakugo.

"I'm the real deal, the rest of these idiots will be lucky if they become sidekicks to some D-Lister!" Naturally, the Pomeranian saying this made the majority of the class angry, bar me and Midoriya.

I wasn't angry because I couldn't be bothered and I'm used to it. Midoriya wasn't angry, because, well, it's Midoriya. He's never been angry.

"Hmm, well you do have some extremely impressive test results, maybe you will get to U.A High." As usual the teacher praises Bakugo for some ungodly reason. U.A is ridiculously hard to get into so it is unlikely.

"It's impossible to get in!" Some student I've never really paid attention to said.

"That is why it's the only place that is worthy of me!" Yet again Bakugo with his bragging and declarations that he will pass every hero including All Might.

"I wouldn't get too big for your boots Bakugo, I'm aiming for U.A too so don't get ahead of yourself." I finally speak up because he is just disturbing me. I want to sleep.

"Great, that means it will look even better on me if you try, as it will make my victory more glorious when I am the only one to get in!"

"Well, I believe Midoriya also wants to go to U.A" the teacher said "Isn't that right Midoriya?"

The laughter that ensued following that really hurt, I can't imagine how bad it was for him.

"Midoriya? You are joking, maybe he would get into the General Studies Course but the Hero Course?" Some other random student I don't care about said.

With the entire class laughing and insulting him, he looked so down. Except for me, why would I? It angers me that this happens, with all these people who wanted to be "future heroes" and they are sat here mocking a quirkless boy for also wanting to be a hero.

Embarrassing.

"You lot! Leave the kid alone, he has his dreams just like the rest of us, why does his quirklessness mean that it suddenly becomes a joke that we can laugh at?"

"Shut up Dirthead! You really think Deku deserves any less than this? He is just a quirkless loser that thinks they will let him in over me!"

As usual, Bakugo.

After the day ended, Midoriya came up to me "Thank you Tada, I really appreciate you sticking up for me earlier, but you really didn't need to."

"It's fine Midoriya, what they were doing was cruel and they were insulting you for something that is not your fault, I am not just going to stand by." "Than-"

"Plus Bakugo was annoying me."

"Whaaaat?!"

"I see, even in children as young as junior high, there are those who have the true hearts of heroes. I cannot wait to crush them." A mysterious figure says as they watch from their mass array of monitors, one watching a white haired boy leaving a junior high alone.

So, that will be the first chapter of this fanfiction.

Now you may be wondering if I am going to go through the entire first part of MHA before U.A like most would. I am not.

Firstly, I feel like interfering with the goo villain plot takes away the reason why Midoriya was given One for All by All Might, as Midoriya reacted fearlessly and instantly. But how would it look if another did too, and also had a power? So yeah.

And secondly, I just don't feel like it is very necessary. We all know how it happens, and if you don't why are you reading MHA fanfics without knowing? Go watch the series first or read the manga you dummy.
