Chapter 2: The U.A Entrance Exam
"Iku-! Ik-!" I stir awake as the voice near me still sounds distorted- "Ikuye! Get the hell up ya lazy kid!"
I feel something smash into my face, as my Dad threw a pillow at me.
There stands a middle-aged man, towering over me like a giant next to a dwarf. He maintains the same bluey green eyes as me, but has a short almost buzzcut set of jet black hair.
"Alright, alright, geez what's the big issue?" I ask my Dad, Kouki Toda.
"The big issue is that you are gonna be late for the U.A Assessment you big dunce! You gotta get moving now, or I swear you are gonna be grounded for life." The giant says staring down into my soul, almost.
"Yeah, I know. These 10 months have got to have been worth it. But I really don't feel like I can do much with my power at the moment, I can only use my quirk to about 5 steps in front of me then whatever I've manipulated just sort of crumbles." I say dejectedly, but my Dad looks into my eyes.
"No matter what you get, I'm proud son, so get this done and get into U.A!" He responds in an attempt to motivate.
"Gotcha!"
'So here we are, the fated U.A grounds' I think to myself as I walk down towards where we are directed to go.
Finally in the auditorium, I attempt to creep in, being the only one remaining.
"Thanks for joining us Little Listener! Better late than never!"
Oh god. Why.
Every single person turns around to see me dumbfounded after hearing Present Mic shout towards me in a crowded building.
"Anyways! For the Practical there will be Robots you will need to defeat and you have 10 minutes. There are 3 types of robots you will need to keep a close eye on, each worth 1, 2, or-" After a while I just kind of zone out of it, until I get a slip of paper that indicates what battle arena I am in.
"Battle Arena E huh, got it." As I arrive I end up noticing that I am the last one to get there again. I end up getting a running start to the gate as I get to everyone as the gate opens. I leave everyone in the dust accidentally.
"Get moving!" Present Mic shouts, "There are no countdowns in real battles! Get moving like that listener in Arena E!"
I look back in surprise as I see that I am all alone, bar a load of robots.
A 3 pointer lunges at me, but I punch into the floor and turn part of the ground into a bat, swinging it right through the head of the robot "Homerun, tin can!" I yell as I turn the bat into a spear and throw it as it flies through a 2 pointer to my left.
This. This is so much fun.
I sprint up to another 3 pointer as I collect debris around my fists and throw a hook through the chest of the robot, pulling out a bunch of wiring from inside it.
Once the robot became a broken shell, I launched the husk at a group of one pointers, all of which toppled to the ground.
"Strike!" I shout really enjoy myself.
This is a feeling I can't describe, like I'm meant for this. Almost like I'm flowing through the motions.
Staff POV
"Well, seems there is an extremely interesting bunch this year, isn't there?" exclaims a small Nezu.
"Maybe, lots of them seem irrational though." Shota Aizawa points out. "Although, a few seem to be somewhat promising."
'Right, I don't think there is long left. Maybe a minute?' I think. 'I should be fine now, I think it was 48 points I counted.'
As I thought that, big thuds started to sound out across the battle arena. Coming into view was a robot of a behemoth size, dwarfing even the biggest person in each arena.
It started to stomp around students, narrowly missing all of them, but not for long. One student had gotten themself trapped under some rocks.
'They are too far for anyone to reach, I'm going to have to push past my distance barrier here.'
I strain myself as I control the debris trapping the student, and surrounded the zero pointers feet with it, temporarily immobilizing the giant.
"TIME!" Present Mic booms across all the battle arenas.
"Thank god, imma sleep a little bit now." I say as I pass out on the floor.
I wake up on a bench just outside the battle arena, with floating clothes above me.
"AAAAH GHOST" I screamed out loud.
"Gee thanks" The cloth- no, a girl said.
"Oh, sorry for that my bad" I said to the girl as a bead of sweat rolls down the side of my head
"It's fine, my name is Toru Hagakure. Thanks for saving me earlier you were so cool!" The girl now known as Toru exclaims.
"Oh was it you that I saved? No problem for saving you I guess, if no one else can why wouldn't I? And my name is Ikuye Toda, nice to meet you."
The floating pair of clothes got out her phone, before giving it to me. "Here Toda, put your number in my phone so we can keep in touch in case we get to U.A." Toru said to me while bouncing about.
'I guess she is excited, makes sense considering the amount of adrenaline the assessment brought.'
"Yeah, sure. Let me just get my- oh crap." "What?"
"My phone broke during the assessment." I say as my face loses all emotion. "Well, I'll remember your number and I will get a new phone on the way home. See ya later Hagakure." I say as I start to walk home, throwing my broken phone in the nearest bin on the way.
Unknown to me, a skull flashed on the cracked screen through the phone.
Right, well I tried to make the chapter a bit longer this time, but it has ended up the same kind of rough length because I feel the ending to the chapter is a good area to leave it.
I wonder why Ikuye's phone started flashing even though it was broken? Hmmmmmmmmmmm
Well the second chapter is here now, should have been out yesterday but I am lazy :/
Hope it's good, please tell me otherwise because I don't really want to make it for it to be rubbish
Anyways, peace!
