Hunter accused of Murder?

We come to a lake in the middle of the cold night in December, in the middle of the lake was a lone boat with two people sitting in it.

"It's been, what, 15 years?" One of them said to the other.

"About that, yes." The other one said nodding.

"15 years is a long time to wait…" The first one said and adds "You can't imagine how much I've suffered…"

"You've…. suffered?" The other one asks confused.

"But now…the perfect opportunity has presented itself." The first one said with a smirk "At last…I shall have my revenge!"

"What?!" The other one said in shock.

The one talking of revenge produces a gun from his coat pocket and holds it up pointing it at the other and said "…Merry Christmas." He then fires.

One of the two falls into the water seemingly was shot. The person left in the boat and holding the gun was none other than the Golden Guard Prosecutor himself Hunter Deamonne looking shocked and confused, did he really kill someone?

December 25, 10:08 AM, J & Co. Law Offices

It was another day of work for the law offices even if it was the holidays through it was decorated. Since the White Ranger case busy has picked up for the Law Offices, J guessed winning a case for a celebrity got the word out, but J hasn't had a trial with Hunter since that one. In fact she hasn't been in any other trial since then.

J was busy working when Jaden approaches. "Hey, hey, J!" Jaden said smiling "Do you know if there are any good waterfalls around here?"

"Waterfalls…? Dare I ask why?" J asked concerned

"Duh, J! Isn't it obvious?" Jaden said smiling "I need a waterfall to stand under! Preferably a freezing one!"

J looks at him confused and said realizing "Oh…Is this part of your Keyblade Warrier training?"

"Of course!" Jaden said smiling but sighs "Except, I've been slacking off lately…I need to brave the elements and be forged anew under the rushing spring waters!"

"Ummm…Okay…" J said not sure how to process that and thinks "I don't know any falls per se, but Seadra Lake is pretty close…"

"Oh. Darn." Jaden said looking down.

"Sorry, but them's the breaks." J said shrugging "Couldn't you just take a cold shower or something?"

Jaden thinks on it and smiles saying, "Good idea!" He goes to do that.

'So much for rushing spring waters…' J thinks as she got back to work.

"Next in the news…" Kent Brockman on the TV said as it was set to the news "A large, unidentified animal was sighted at Seadra Lake! The town is buzzing with excitement! Locals are calling it 'Seadray the Seadramon' in a tip of the hat to Nessie the Lock Ness monster. Through its namesake, Nessie, proved to be a hoax…locals are confident their Seadray is the real deal."

J yawns listening to this and said "Bor-ing. Can't they show any real news for a change?"

"J?" Jaden said showing up again. J looks up concerned "The water pressure's kind of low in that shower."

J thinks on it, she doesn't use the shower being a robot, so she doesn't actually use the shower to clean herself. "You want more pressure, huh? Why don't you go down to the fire department and have them spray you with the hose?" she said sarcastically

Jadon thinks on it and smiles saying "Good idea, J!" He then leaves.

'Apparently, Yuki blood is no aid in detecting sarcasm…' J thinks rolling her eyes.

"We interrupt this program to bring you a special news bulletin!" Kent Brockman said suddenly on the TV. "Strange occurrences continue at Seadra Lake…But this time, it's murder!"

'Seadra Lake again?' J thinks as she keeps on working but was concerned on this report.

"The body of a man was found in the lake early this morning" Kent reports "A suspect was apprehended. Sources inside the police department revealed…that the suspect's name is Hunter Deamonne, age 21. Hunter was an up-and-coming prosecutor, knowing for his skill and connections. He was guaranteed a long and rewarding career…Has he thrown it all away?"

J looks at the screen surprised and thinks 'H-Hunter?!' She stands up in shock and said "What's going on?! Hunter would never do something like…"

"J?" Jaden said showing up again.

"Ah! J-Jaden!" J said jumping in surprise, she was so focused on the TV she didn't see him come in.

"The fireman yelled at me when I called him." Jaden said nearly in tears.

"We've got bigger things to worry about that that!" J told him "They arrested Hunter!"

"What? You mean, the prosecutor?" Jaden said shocked.

"Yeah, he's a suspect…in a murder!" J said looking worried.

"Whaaaat?!" Jaden lets out in surprise "When? Where? Whom? Why? How?"

"I-I don't know!" J said worried

"Let's go find out, J!" Jaden told her.

J nods and gets ready as the two leave for the Detention Center, they need to talk with Hunter.

December 25, Detention Center, Visitor's Room

J and Jaden arrive and sits in the seats waiting for Hunter to be brought to them.

"You know, J…" Jaden said smiling but then looks sadly "We've all been in here one time or another, haven't we?"

"I guess it comes with the territory." J said thinking.

"I'm not sure it's something we should mention to too many people…" Jaden suggests. He then looks and sees Hunter has suddenly arrived and lets out "Aah!"

Hunter looks annoyed and gets up and begins to leave.

"Hey! Hunter! Come back!" J calls out

Hunter sighs and reluctantly comes back and asked looking away from her "What are you doing here?!"

"J, I don't think he's in a very good mood." Jaden said smiling.

"Well, he is in detention." J points out "Were you in a good mood when you were here?"

"So, you've come to laugh at the fallen attorney?" Hunter said to that "Then laugh, laugh!" He glares at them "Well? Why aren't you laughing?"

"J…Should we be laughing?" Jaden asked her.

"Nah. It's a trick. Laugh and he'll get mad…or burst into tears" J said shaking her head and looks at Hunter "Hunter. We don't have so much free time we can spend it coming down here to laugh at you."

Hunter folds his arms looking at her and said "Yes, you do."

'Actually he's right.' J thinks sweat dropping as they didn't have any clients currently.

Hunter then looks away ashamed and said "I hoped you wouldn't come. I didn't want you to see me. Not like this."

'I didn't want to see you like this, either. Believe me.' J thinks sadly she then asked "Hunter. Tell me what happened."

Hunter looks to her and said "Why should I? What are you going to do about it?"

"Duh! We're going to help you, that's what!" Jaden told him.

Hunter was surprised by that but looks away and said "Help me? You? Don't be ridiculous."

"Sorry…?" J asked confused.

"You're a novice! You've only been in three trials!" Hunter told her.

"H-hey!" J said in response to that.

"Sure, you got lucky and won all three…But your luck's bound to run out some day!" Hunter told her. "You need real skill, J. Experience!" J looks at him remaining silent.

"J! He's insulting you! J?" Jaden said to J concerned and annoyed "Why am I always the one who has to get angry?!"

J chooses to move on and asks Hunter "The murder took place at Seadra Lake, correct?"

"Yes…late last night." Hunter said with a nod.

"The lake is a long way away from your offices and the courthouse…" J notes thinking "Why were you down there?"

Hunter looks at way holding his arm and said "I see no need to tell you."

"M-Mr. Deamonne!" Jaden said sadly. "You…you didn't really…?"

Hunter remains quiet before saying "Seadray."

"Huh?" Jaden said confused.

"I went to see Seadray." Hunter told them looking at them.

"'Seadray'?" Jaden asked confused and smiles adding "What's that?!"

"I'll…tell you later." J said sighing and looks at Hunter thinking 'Why won't Hunter talk to us?' She then decides to use it to get him to talk and presents her attorney badge on her jacket.

"Your attorney's badge…?" Hunter said confused.

"Hunter. Let me defend you." J said to him.

Hunter remains silent but then lets out "Hah! Hah hah! Good one, J. But I'm not that hard up. Not yet." He tells her.

"Wh-what do you mean by that?" Jaden asked him.

"Me? Trust a wet-behind-the-ears lawyers with only three trials under her belt? Never!" Hunter told them botn.

"Wh-what?!" Jaden said angry.

"My case is near hopeless, J." Hunter explains to them. "Every defence attorney I've talked to has turned me down."

"What?" J said surprised at that.

"Simply put, they were afraid they'd lose." Hunter said shrugging. "It occurred to me that it might be my fault that they lack confidence. After all, I did get every single one of their clients declared 'guilty.'"

"I don't believe it!" J told him.

"Regardless, I don't want you involved in this." Hunter told her. "You in particular I cannot ask to do this."

J sighs and said "Hunter…this is really hard for me to ask…But…. you didn't do it, right? Right?"

Hunter remains quiet before saying "Think what you will. I have only one request."

"Huh?" J said looking at him.

"Stay out of this case." Hunter said with a serious stare.

"Why?!" Jaden said in shock and added. "B-but J is trying to help you!"

"I know…! I know that!" Hunter said in response and looks away "But I don't want your help, okay?"

Jaden was shocked by this and asked "Why not?"

Hunter looks annoyed and said "Look, just go away, and leave me alone!" He then leaves the visitor's room.

"J…Mr. Deamonne did it, didn't he?" Jaden asked worried.

"Jaden! Let's go investigate elsewhere." J said surprising the young Keyblade warrior.

"But J…" Jaden said sadly.

J stands up and heads for the exit, she had to do this, for her old friend and knew where to start, the scene of the crime, Seadra Lake.

Well this is interesting, but J is determined to help Hunter, maybe something at the crime scene will help convince Hunter to accept it.
