Colonel Timara Casey

Personal

I really miss my old friend Jeff sometimes. Things like this never seemed to happen when he was around. I can't explain why, either. It isn't like his sons sail close to the wind. They are very hard working, they abide by the law, and they give neither me nor any other world governmental department any reason to fear for the public safety. Everything they do is always for the good. The general public on the whole, adore them for the work they do. It seems to be just the tiny minority that have it in for them.

Like that fellow known as The Hood.

It seems not to be anything to do with him this time though. We are all very afraid for the safety of John Tracy, but no sign has been found of him…accept for a few rumours among whom Mister Parker calls his "former h'associates".

If anyone can find the young man though, its Parker. He has almost a sixth sense when it comes to dealing with criminals. I suppose that is hardly surprising, given his history. But going undercover? I have now been made aware that the gang he has latched himself onto is likely to make him do something illegal in some way, to test him somehow, but I've been given no clue as to what that might be.

A break in of some sort perhaps, or sabotage? Or, more likely in his case, he'll be required to give away some top secret information about International Rescue in order to fully convince his new `friends' that he is legitimate. That means that the GDF will need to be available to move in quickly in case of serious trouble for the other members of IR.

I didn't like this plan when it was first proposed to me. Lady Penelope and Miss Kyrano going undercover in liaison with the GDF I am comfortable with. But like this?

Lady Penelope and Kayo are keeping Scott and the others informed of what is going on, and I have had Scott on the comms pleading with me to `go along with it', and to `turn a blind eye if I can' to whatever Parker may be forced to do in the interests of finding and saving John.

Of-course I will go along with it! John is my Godson after all, and I care about him very much. As to turning a blind eye…in order to do that I would need to enrol Parker as a temporary GDF member working undercover, and from what I understand, anything official on Parker's behalf could be leaked and put him in danger. If he is caught in the act of doing something illegal, I will have no option but to arrest him and charge him.

I suspect that he was well aware of that fact too when he went into this. Parker is more savvy than he often gets credit for. If that situation arises, any hesitancy on my part or that of any of my officers would only serve to alert his current companions of the danger he poses to them.

Even my recording my personal logs electronically as I normally would is too dangerous right now, which is why I am going to the tedious lengths of writing all of this down in pen and paper, to be locked away in my personal safe, to be transferred to electronic storage only when it is safe to do so.

On a more personal note though, I have spoken to each of the boys, to try and encourage them. They are doing very well on the whole, but they are chafing to get out there and do something themselves to find their brother. Knowing that others are putting themselves in danger whilst they are "sitting on our backsides doing nothing" to quote Gordon, is proving difficult for them. None of them take kindly to waiting around.

The Thunderbirds and their respective launch chutes and bays have never been so clean! I have recommended Kayo and Lady Penelope to join the boys on the island, as they are more used to the difficult waiting around aspect of undercover work. Grandma Tracy had been off the island visiting an old friend when the news broke about John, and I have spoken to her. She is now back on the island and lending her support to her grandsons. Between them, the three women should be able to keep the boys in order long enough for Parker to do his job.

I will keep a close watch on the island myself, naturally.

Oh Jeff, what would you do, if you were here?
