Himiko pushed through the crowd towards Shoto.
"Oops! Pardon. Sorry. Can I just get around you there? Thank you. Oh, there he is. King Shoto!"
Shoto turned to Himiko. Himiko curtsied awkwardly.
"I mean…King…. Me again." Himiko said, curtsying..
Shoto gave a polite but reserved bow.
"Oh! It's Himiko!" Natsuo said excitedly. "Oh Shoto I think it would be great if you and Himiko—"
"Got married." Himiko bowed to the ground..
Chaira stiffened, aghast. She wasn't the only unhappy one. Shoto was furious.
"Marriage…?" Shoto asked.
"Yes!" Natsuo said. "He's such a great guy. The trade alone would be great for Arendelle."
"I'm sorry, I'm confused." Shoto said.
"There are a lot of details. We'll need a few days to plan the ceremony. Of course we'll have soup, roast, and ice cream and then-Wait. Would you and Shoto live here?" Natsuo asked.
"Here?" Shoto repeated, still in shock.
"Absolutely!" Himiko said, an annoyingly victorious smirk on her face..
"Natsuo-" Shoto began
"Oh, we can invite all twelve of your brothers to stay with us-" Natsuo said.
"What? No, no, no, no, no." Chaira stepped in to rescue poor Shoto.
"Of course we have the room. I don't know. Some of them must-" Natsuo said.
"Wait. Slow down. No one's brother are staying here. No one is getting married." Chaira said firmly.
"Wait, what?" Natsuo said.
"May I talk to you, please. Alone." Shoto said.
"You should say it in front of Himiko too." Natsuo said. "You haven't given her an answer."
"Natsuo you aren't being fair, putting him on the spot!" Chaira defended.
"Fine. I'm not going to marry a woman I just met." Shoto said.
"You can if it's true love." Natsuo said. "It could be! Just give Himiko a chance!"
"Natsuo, what do you know about true love?" Chaira asked exasperatedly, exchanging a look with Shoto
"More than you. All you know is how to shut people out." Natsuo said. "Except Chaira. Is that was this is about? Do you want to marry her?"
"What?! I...um...what?!" Shoto was flustered and the temperature dropped several degrees. He was losing control. He looked around for an exit.
"Shoto and I are not getting married." Chaira said firmly. "It's not like that! I'm his Guardian and—"
"And what, Chaira?" Shoto said, a dangerous, fiery tone in his voice. The temperature shot WAY up. "WHAT?"
Much to his horror, his hand flew out towards her, glove flying off, and ice magic lunged and struck her in her heart, and Chaira crumpled to the floor. Fire sprang from him and caught on the curtains. Smoke engulfed the room.
Guests cried out in shock, backed away.
"…Sorcery. I knew there was something dubious going on here." Whispered Himiko to one of her warriors.
"Shoto…?" Natsuo said in shock. Fuyumi ran towards her brother.
Shoto rushed out of the room.
Shoto burst out of the castle door. The citizens cheered!
"There he is. Your Majesty! Long live the King! King Shoto…. Come drink with us."
Shoto ducked through the crowd, holding his bare hand.
"King Shoto."
"Your Majesty? Are you all right?"
Shoto backed away from the Arendellans. He knocked into the fountain, grabbed its edge. The waters froze at his touch.
Gasps of shock and fear swept over the crowd.
Himiko and her thugs come out the door.
"There he is! Stop him!" Himiko said.
"Please, just stay away from me." Shoto said. "Stay away!"
Magic accidentally shot from his hand and burned the staircase.. The thugs and Himiko fell.
"Monster…. Monster!" Himiko said.
The crowd panicked.
A hurricane began due to the colliding heat and cold. Shoto ran.
Fuyumi ran out of the palace doors, carrying the glove.
"Shoto!" Natsuo shouted. "Shoto come back!"
Shoto ran out of the gates and down to the water's edge. The shoreline froze under his feet.
Fuyumi called to him from the gates.
"Shoto! Wait, please!" Fuyumi said.
Shoto glanced back at his siblings, but turned away. He tentatively stepped out onto the fjord. It froze instantly. He broke into a run, as the water froze over with each step.
"Shoto, stop!" Fuyumi said.
Natsuo rushed out onto the fjord ice, slipped, fell.
"Shoto!" Natsuo said.
Fuyumi rushed to Natsuo's side.
Shoto reached the far shore. He didn't look back. He just scrambled into the mountains.
"No." Fuyumi said.
"Look…. The fjord." Fuyumi said, shocked.
The ice spread out until the entire fjord was frozen, locking the ships in place.
The hurricane blew fiercely around them. Natsuo and Fuyumi moved through the panicking crowd.
"Snow? It's…snow…in July." Natsuo said.
Meanwhile, in the palace, on the floor, Chaira opened her eyes, hair white. His memories returned in a flash. She was Chaira Yukina, Guardian of Aether. Ands she had a job to do!
