Numbuh 23 was walking around Moonbase with Numbuh 35, the base was infested with Senior Citi Zombies "Are you sure we shouldn't be running?" The girl asked while they were walking toward the evacuation zone
"The zombies are all busy trying to stop Numbuh 1 from reaching global command, the worst part is already over" Bartie laughed as they suddenly heard a tremor, they looked at a window nearby only to see the moon rotating pointing the base at earth
"You don't think…" Numbuh 23 looked at Numbuh 35 flabbergaster, he did the same
"He is going to throw moonbase on their heads!" Numbuh 35 grabbed her hand and started running, they reached the evacuation zone only to see a few citi zombies who were a bit confused by the tremors, they reached an evacuation pod by slowly sneaking around the zombies "Alright… easy enough" Bartie chuckled
"Well Well Well… look at what we have here" A familiar voice came from behind them
Bartie sighed "Numbuh 86… I swear I'm not fooling around" He laughed as he saw the zombified Numbuh 86 smiling at him "Shouldn't you be evacuating?"
"If Grandfather said we should remain here we will remain here!" The zombified girl said
"You don't quit being a pain in the ass even as a zombie do you?" He smiled then looked at Numbuh 23 who took a fighting stance behind him "Sorry about that" Numbuh 35 smiled at Virginia
"What do you m-" Before she could finish Bartie pushed her inside the evacuation pod and kicked a lever right next to it, Numbuh 23 banged on the door of the evacuation pod as it closed and left the moonbase "What do you think you are doing?!" She could only see Bartie fighting against Numbuh 86 then a bright light coming out of it, a few seconds later the moonbase was launched on earth while Virginia stayed in space watching it crash "Idiot…" Virginia banged her head on the wall of the escape pod crying and angry at Bartie, a few minutes later she smiled as Earth got back to normal, she had a VIP seat for the whole show as Grandfather aging got quickly removed
A few hours later Bartie was on a bed in a provisional hospital they had built near the crater to treat bruised agents "All's well that ends well" he said while resting his head on his arms shirtless with a few bandages around his chest
"BARTIE STORK!" Numbuh 23 came inside the tent Bartie was resting with smoke coming out of her ears, she walked in his direction with a clearly furious expression on her face
"She said my whole name… That can't be good" he said to himself as a nurse slowly backed off from his bed
"What is the big idea?!" Numbuh 23 approached him with her arms crossed
"What?" Numbuh 35 looked at her confused
"Why did you do it?" Numbuh 23 said "I didn't want to be saved, we could have fought her together" she said in an angry tone
"Oh" Numbuh 35 looked at her a bit confused but smiled "Sorry, it seemed like the right thing to do at the time" he laughed
"I…" Numbuh 23 blushed while looking at him "Thanks" she said a bit embarrassed in her tone then left the tent in a hurry, she then placed her hands on her cheeks and felt them getting warmer "Oh no…" she said to herself then looked at two familiar figures passing by the debris
"I'm glad he saved us but couldn't Numbuh 1 defeat Grandfather in a way that didn't involve spending hours signing stuff?" Numbuh 86 said a bit annoyed while carrying a pile of papers right next to Rachel
"To be honest I don't know what would be worse, working in factories making tapioca or signing the same document from the same sector about the same thing four times" Rachel laughed she was also carrying a pile of papers
"Hey…" Numbuh 23 waved at the two high ranking officers
"Numbuh 23, I heard you managed to not get zombified, congratulations" Numbuh 86 said while placing the files she was carrying on a table
"Well… I wanted to talk about that actually…" Numbuh 23 said a bit embarrassed "I didn't save myself… I was saved… by Bartie" Numbuh 23 said blushing
Numbuh 362 was a bit distracted reading a file while hearing the girl "Huh… And?"
Virginia looked at her surroundings "I think I'm in love with Numbuh 35" Virginia said
The two girls who were focusing on reading their documents paused then looked at Numbuh 23 "Hey… congratulations" Numbuh 362 smiled at Virginia
"He is an idiot though…" Numbuh 86 said
"Should I confess? isn't it wrong to fall in love just because I was saved by him?" Numbuh 23 said a bit flustered
"Nahh… that only means you liked him before, trust me I'm a pro at being saved then falling in love" Rachel laughed
"And no confession in sight even after what happened today" Numbuh 86 chuckled
"I don't wanna hear this from you Miss Drilovsky" Rachel said a bit annoyed at Fanny's remark "Sorry, We aren't really the best girls to give advice about it to be honest"
"I can see that… Bye" she waved them goodbye then returned to Bartie's tent, he was being fed by a nurse who giggled at his jokes "Hey Bartie…" she smiled at him
"Hey Vi, I was worried, you left in a hurry" He said smiling at her
The nurse smiled at her "Do you wanna feed him? I have other patients to see, Here" she handed Numbuh 23 a bowl with a few apples
Numbuh 23 sat right next to his bed "So… You got transformed by Numbuh 86?"
"Right after I sent you on the pod, I tried shooting her, she slapped my hand and grabbed my head" Numbuh 35 said "After that I only remember waking up inside a ton of debris and feeling pain all over"
"How are you feeling now?" She asked a bit worried while feeding him
"The doctor said I got only minor bruises" He smiled at her after eating his apple "I'm only taking a rest, the change in atmosphere left me tired" Numbuh 35 sat up on his bed and stretched, I wanna see the debris, you wanna go?" he got up and extended his hand to her
"Y-Yeah, sure" she smiled at him, both of them left the tent and approached the crater that had been formed with the impact of the moonbase "Woah… you guys survived it?" she asked while entering the ruins of the moonbase
"Yeah… they said they will rebuild it" Bartie said smiling at her
"Bartie… Sorry for getting mad at you earlier" Virginia said
"Don't worry about it" Bartie Laughed "It was pretty stupid"
"No, it was… it was kinda cool" she chuckled
"Thanks" He said while trying to grab a piece of metal on the floor
Numbuh 23 looked around the destroyed base, she looked up and saw a large piece of metal giving in to the overall weight on top of it "Bartie!" Numbuh 23 rushed to his side and jumped on top of him a loud noise soon followed a bunch of debris fell where he was standing
"Woah…" Numbuh 35 saw a pile of metal and duct tape while Numbuh 23 laid on top of him "Seems we are even now" He laughed
Numbuh 23 blushed and clicked her tongue "Ah, Whatever" She pulled him close and kissed him while they both laid on a pile of bent metal and 2x4 technology
Numbuh 35 took a second to process what was happening, Numbuh 23 then pushed him back smiling at him "V-Vi?" Bartie looked at her surprised
"S-Sorry… I… I think I'm in love with you" She blushed while looking at him embarrassed
"You think?" He laughed blushing as well "I'm happy, I like you too" He hugged her then took a closer look at her face "Are you injured? Did something fall on you?"
"Nah, I'm okay" Virginia got up then extended her hand to her boyfriend
Bartie grabbed her hand and got up, he then pulled her in close and returned her kiss "So… you wanna go out one of these days?" He blushed
"Like a real date? With a Dinner and stuff?" She smiled at him as they left the ruins of the moonbase
"Just take it easy on my wallet" He laughed "The Moonbase Scout job doesn't pay that well" he said
"T-That wasn't what I meant!" she blushed a bit ashamed "Any place will do…" she lowered her head
"I was kidding" he patted her on the back laughing "Is Saturday fine by you?"
"Y-Yeah…" she smiled at him a bit embarrassed by her outburst, the two parted ways after that
Bartie looked around making sure Virginia wasn't looking after they parted ways and started jumping in happiness "That's what I'm talking about! Who would have thought the worst day would turn into the best day just like that!" he said in a euphoric way
A few days later Virginia was shopping with Numbuhs 362, 86, 3, 5 and 83 "Sorry for bothering you guys like that… My date is tomorrow and-"
"We would have helped whether you asked or not let's be honest" Numbuh 5 smirked at the girl
"I like buying my stuff alone but…" Numbuh 23 said a bit flustered
"We understand" Rachel chuckled "Embarrassed Virginia is the best" She said patting her on the shoulder
"I just don't wanna make any mistakes" Numbuh 23 said
"And that's why we are here" Numbuh 3 giggled as they walked with Numbuh 23 inside a clothing store
"WHY ARE YOU EVEN HERE?!" Numbuh 35 was looking at Numbuhs 1, 2, 4, 60 and 84 who were smirking at him
"Numbuh 3 and Numbuh 5 told us you were going on a date with Numbuh 23, we couldn't let this chance pass it is way too funny" Numbuh 2 said smiling at him while they got inside a masculine clothes store
"I can buy clothes just fine, I'm not taking dressing advice from you guys" Numbuh 35 said
"But the hat suits me, Sonia says it all the time" Lee said
"The goggles are my charm just so you know" Numbuh 2 said
"They are prescription, they aren't just to make me look cool" Numbuh 1 said a bit annoyed
"The gloves are a bit much, I agree… They are good for combat though" Patton shrugged smiling at Numbuh 35
Numbuh 4 looked at his own clothes "I don't see nothing wrong with them to be honest"
Numbuh 35 groaned as he walked around with his friends
The girls except for Numbuh 86 and Numbuh 83 were waiting in front of a fitting room "Is she done?"
"Almost…" Numbuh 83 was helping Numbuh 23 as she fitted a pair of black boots on her friend while Numbuh 86 fixed a few wrinkles in her thigh high socks "There we go" Numbuh 86 opened the curtains
Numbuh 23 was wearing a black and red dress with a pair of gray thigh-high socks and of course a pair of black boots with small golden details "What do you guys think? It is a bit much I think"
"Looks great but…" Rachel scratched her chin "I think mine and Numbuh 3's choice would look better" The two girls went inside the fitting room with her again carrying a bunch of clothes with them
Numbuh 23 returned soon after with a white summer dress and a pair of sandals "I liked this one but… it doesn't really match my style…" she blushed
Numbuh 5 smiled at Virginia. "Leave it to Numbuh 5 girl" Abby said, Numbuh 5 went inside also with a bunch of clothes
Numbuh 23 returned this time smiling she was wearing a red and black checkered cardigan over a black shirt, she was wearing a pair of gray jeans and black and red sneakers "This one is pretty nice…" she said blushing a bit
The girls smiled "Nice work Numbuh 5…" Rachel smiled
"Numbuh 5 knows her stuff" Abby said laughing
"Doesn't really match your style buying clothes by the way, we got surprised when we saw you leaving for the mall, we were planning to tease you and be done with it" Numbuh 4 said while looking at a shirt
"I didn't want to, someone told my Mom i was going on a date, she gave me money and said I wouldn't be allowed to go on the date if I didn't buy new clothes" Numbuh 35 sighed a bit annoyed while inside a fitting room, he left wearing a simple teal shirt with a few things written in yellow, a pair of brown cargo pants with a pair of black and white sneakers "Pretty good I would say"
The boys gave their thumbs up and proceeded to leave the store with Numbuh 35 carrying his new clothes behind them
Numbuh 23 was walking behind her friends carrying her new clothes
"We should go to the food court aft-" Before Rachel could continue she sighted the boys walking with Numbuh 35 coming in their direction "What are the chances…" Rachel mumbled to herself then tapped Numbuh 86 who was talking to Numbuh 3 on the shoulder
Fanny looked at the boys approaching and immediately understood the situation, she looked around and saw the restroom was nearby "Numbuh 23, can you come with me to the restroom?" She smiled at the girl
"Sure" Virginia smiled at Numbuh 86 and turned left leaving the corridor area
The boys passed by the girls and greeted them "Hey, wasn't expecting to see you girls here" Numbuh 1 said a bit nervous
"Neither were we…" Rachel looked at Numbuh 3 and Numbuh 5 knowing exactly what they had done
"Hey is Vi with you guys?" Numbuh 35 asked innocently
"She is a bit nervous with your date and everything so she said she didn't wanna come, after everything that happened we decided to go for a little shopping trip" Rachel said giving Numbuh 1 an ominous look that screamed "GET OUT OF HERE!"
"I see…" Numbuh 1 gulped while looking at Numbuh 362, he proceeded to hurry the rest of the boys as they left the corridor
"Now he thinks I'm scary… what I don't do for my friends" Rachel sighed a bit sad
"Don't worry he isn't like that" Numbuh 3 patted her on the back
"What was the big idea telling the boys by the way? That was risky, if he saw she buying clothes the surprise factor wouldn't work as well" Numbuh 362 said
"Relax, that doesn't matter, they are already a couple" Numbuh 5 said
"They are coming, shoosh" Numbuh 362 said as she saw Numbuh 23 and Numbuh 86 leaving the bathroom
The next day Numbuh 35 was in front of Numbuh 23's home, he was wearing the clothes he had bought the previous day, after taking a deep breath he knocked on her door, her father answered
"Oh, you must be the boy Viggy is going out with" Numbuh 23's father was a tall man with a shaved head and a pair of glasses "You can come in, she is still getting ready" The man walked Bartie inside his home and led him to the living room
"I-Is it okay If I sit sir?" Bartie said
"Go ahead" Her father sat on an armchair "You are in that club she hangs out with? Kids next door I think?" He asked
Numbuh 35 sat on the couch "Y-Yeah…" he smiled at him awkwardly
"You are nervous" Her father said "Here" he handed him a piece of candy from a jar that sat in a small table right next to his armchair
"Thanks…" Numbuh 35 said before putting the candy on his mouth
"Where are you two going?" Her father asked
"Well… We settled on the new aquarium, it has a restaurant on it so we thought, Why not?" He smiled still feeling a bit awkward
"Just make sure to bring her home before 10pm" he said
"Is that him?" A small woman with brown hair that looked like an older version of Virginia appeared and looked at Bartie smiling at him
"Yes, he seems pretty shy" Numbuh 23's father said
"Well of course he is, you are too serious" She laughed then approached Bartie pinching his cheeks "He is so cute! I knew our daughter had a good taste for boys" she said
"MOM!" Numbuh 23 was going down the stairs when she noticed her mother was dotting Bartie
"Vi…" Numbuh 35 was impressed by her clothes, he smiled to himself a bit dazed by seeing her like this
"Oh my little ViVi" her mother smiled "You didn't tell us he was so cute"
Numbuh 23 blushed upon hearing being called by her nickname and grabbed Numbuh 35's hand, she rushed to the door "Bye Mom, Bye Dad" she said before leaving her house with Numbuh 35
A few meters away Numbuh 35 and Numbuh 23 were walking to the Aquarium "I didn't have the chance to say this but… you look beautiful"
"Thanks… I'm happy you got new clothes as well" she chuckled "Sorry about my mother"
"No problem ViVi" he chuckled
"I'm gonna stop you there" Numbuh 23 looked at him annoyed
"Alright Viggy" He said
"Oh no…" she brought her hand to her face shaking her head
"Your dad seemed pretty cool" Numbuh 35 said
"He is… Normal" She said "How did he treat you?"
"He just asked if I was on KND and said I should bring you home before 10pm" Bartie said
"Yeah he is all about being simple" Numbuh 23 chuckled "I wasn't worried about him even though he has this embarrassing nickname for me… My mother though…" Numbuh 23 rolled her eyes
"That's okay, she is like all moms" Bartie laughed
They chatted up for a bit while they walked to the Aquarium until they finally reached their destination, Numbuh 35 paid for the tickets and walked around the Aquarium with Numbuh 23 "It's… kinda nice in here" she said while a huge aquarium shone a bright blue light on them as they saw tons of fishes going from one side to the other inside it, she got closer to him and kissed his cheek
"Hey… they still hurt a bit from you mother's pinching" Numbuh 35 chuckled and then kissed her
"She was right though… you look cute when embarrassed" She grinned at him
"That is not true…" Bartie laughed "I look cute everytime" he said
"Jerk" she laughed as they walked together hand in hand talking about a bunch of stuff and looking at the fishes, after about two hours they went to the restaurant inside the aquarium, it looked very casual, Virginia sat at a table with Numbuh 35 "This place is beautiful…" she said while looking at a bunch of dolphins outside the restaurant in a giant pool
A waiter approached them "What the young couple is ordering?"
"I want the spaghetti with tomato sauce… and a Soda" Numbuh 23 smiled
"And I… I want the same as her but with more tomato sauce, including the soda" Numbuh 35
"I'm sorry young miss but we don't sell soda to-" The waiter felt something nudging him, he looked down only to see two 2x4 weapons pointed at his belly
"We are paying sir, there is no reason to not accept" Numbuh 23 smiled at him, the couple was giving the waiter a menacing look
"I… I understand" The waiter bowed and left in a hurry with their order written on a paper, he brought their food and drinks a few minutes later "Enjoy…" he said
"So… I was meaning to ask, how are your injuries?" Numbuh 23 asked while eating her spaghetti
"Just some bruises, you worry too much" Bartie laughed before eating his spaghetti then drinking a sip from his soda
"Or you worry too little, I got seriously mad at you for leaving me alone in space" Numbuh 23 said
"It was a bit irresponsible but… I didn't really want to take the risk of seeing you as an ugly zombie" Numbuh 35 laughed
"Hey… we could have totally destroyed Numbuh 86 you know that?" She laughed "I'm offended, make it up to me" she smiled at him
"If you say so… I saw this in a movie once" Numbuh 35 grabbed his spaghetti plate and offered it to her
Numbuh 23 got a little confused but grabbed some of it with a fork and started eating, Numbuh 35 got the other end of the spaghetti and started eating it as well, as they ate each end they started getting closer, Numbuh 23 chuckled upon realizing what was his plan, they ended up facing each other closely as they finished the spaghetti kissing each other "This is so sappy" she laughed "I loved it, you are forgiven" she said
"Good because I'm never doing this again" Numbuh 35 was blushing bright red
Numbuh 23 laughed "Agreed, never again" She said
After finishing their sodas and food Numbuh 35 paid for everything and they continued watching the fish for a little while between kisses, they approached a photo booth "You like this kind of stuff don't you?"
"I love it!" she grabbed his hand and walked with him to the photo booth, they left it a few moments later laughing, as they grabbed the photos outside, the first one had Numbuh 35 doing a chokehold on Numbuh 23 while she bit his arm, the second one hand Numbuh 23 behind him pinching his cheeks, the third one had them both holding their 2x4 weapons they carried at all times turning their backs on each other and the last one had them both kissing
"They look great, these things are fun" Numbuh 35 said as he put the photos in his pocket
"It's almost time to go… bummer" Numbuh 23 said
while looking at her cellphone
"It's okay, it was fun" Bartie said while wrapping his arm around her shoulder
"We could go to a waterpark next time…" Numbuh 23 said as they left the aquarium and walked to her home
"And spend most of it in a line kissing waiting to get in a ride?" Numbuh 35 laughed
"Don't read my mind!" Numbuh 23 laughed
it was 9:30PM when they arrived at her home, Numbuh 35 approached and tried knocking but was stopped by Numbuh 23 "What?"
"As if you don't know" Numbuh 23 chuckled then pulled him close and kissed him, they stood there kissing in front of the door for a few seconds until they heard the sound of a camera, they looked at their side only to see her mother with a camera smiling at them
"This is going to the family album, no doubt about it" Her mom said
MOM!" Numbuh 23 yelled at her mother angry while still hugging Numbuh 35
Her father appeared at the door smiling at Numbuh 35 "You brought her home earlier than I expected, great job" he patted him on the shoulder
"T-Thanks Sir…" Numbuh 35 was blushing bright red
"You can stay outside for a bit and… enjoy your date a little longer, No funny business" Her father grabbed his wife and closed the door while both operatives stood in front of her home blushing
"Sorry…" Numbuh 23 rolled her eyes
"He is a nice guy your father" Numbuh 35 sat with Virginia on their porch
"He is nice, he would get furious at you if you arrived late though" she chuckled
Numbuh 35 and Numbuh 23 kept kissing for a few more minutes
"I think it's time for me to go…" Numbuh 23 said
"Yeah... Mom is going to kill me if I get home late… See you tomorrow" Numbuh 35 got up and waved her goodbye as he left her porch
Numbuh 23 rushed to him before he could get to the sidewalk and kissed him "I… Just a goodbye kiss" she chuckled a little embarrassed "Bye…"
Bartie Laughed and kissed her "Sorry, I forgot about it" he said then watched as Numbuh 23 entered her home, he walked back home and after getting far enough he started jumping in happiness while celebrating "Numbuh 35, The greatest" he suddenly heard his communicator beeping then answered it "Yeah?"
"My room has a telescope, I can see you jumping all happy you know?" Numbuh 23 chuckled while talking to Numbuh 35 and seeing him with her telescope from her bedroom window
Numbuh 35 blushed then kept walking "Now you are just teasing me…" he laughed a bit embarrassed
"You do it to me all the time, it's only fair I do it too" she laughed then turned off her communicator then sighed as she lay on her bed blushing "I love him" she smiled to herself
