Author's Note: WHAT IS UP MUCKAAAAACHUNGAAAAAS?! IT'S TRAVEZTY! And today I am finally… FINALLY… Getting back into the swing of things with Goblin Slayer, as I've finally had a Homebrew Race that I've been working on for years now finally verified as Balanced and Playable without bringing me any more doubts! I won't keep you guys long but I will explain a few things before we get started on with this story.

First off let me just give a brief explanation as to the details of the homebrew race that I've been working on: Player Dragons. By that I mean an actual playable Dragon Race, and after finding a number of experienced D&D Players and Dungeon Masters in my city, I finally had it verified as balanced enough for games to be played in. This is the first time I'm actually going to be testing out the player race myself in a Trial by Fire deal in this story. Now before I continue I will explain that this race covers the Chromatic, Gemstone, and Metallic Dragons as Subraces, and the entire race was built off of the Dragonborn (Fizban's Variants), the Draconic Gift Feats (Fizban's), the Tortles, and some Information from the 4e Draconomicon and 5e's Wyrmlings and Young Dragons. I will explain it in the chapter but suffice it to say I am so happy that I'm finally going to be putting this into action.

As for when it comes to Goblin Slayer and Crew, I will be using the Builds that were made by Heartlock, Tabletop Nephilim, and DnD Builds for Goblin Slayer and the rest of the Party. When it comes to my oc's own protection, I will say it once and say it again: "I LOVE MONKS!". However, the Monk Subclass that I developed specifically to replicate Fairy Tail Dragon Slayers is still in need of refining, and while I would use it here, I know right now it is still way too Overpowered, and I need help from the same experienced D&D players to Balance it out. However, I still want to do a draconic theme, so I will be using Fizban's Subclass, the Way of the Ascendant Dragon. Now as to why I am going with this, it is simple really. While Monks are extremely weak in the Early Game, allow them to reach Level 7 and they stop cooking with Wood and start cooking with Gas. As a few of my friends and I like to say, "Monks are a Slow-Burn Class" meaning you have to be flexible enough to use what limited fuel you have wisely before you start going nuts with them.

Better yet, thanks to Goblin Slayer's Setting of the Ranks for Adventurers, with each rank being 2 levels apart from each other, then that means that Silver Rank Adventurers are, at least, 16th Level at most, and most of Goblin Slayer's Party are 16th Level at the very least. So think of it this way, a 16th Level Monk is able to hit with 1d8's worth of damage, and with my small modification for the Ascendant Dragon, an extra d8 worth of elemental damage on top of that, can attack up to 4 times in a single turn when using Primary Attack, Extra Attack, and Flurry of Blows, so a total of 8d8 Damage per turn, with a minimum of 8 Damage, an average of 36, and a maximum 64… IN ONE FREAKING TURN! That's not even counting what would happen if each individual hit were a Nat 20! That would come out to 128 Damage at maximum! Without the added benefit of a breath weapon to replace one of the attacks for Dragons, Dragonborn (Fizban's), or Ascendant Dragon Monk!

That aside, I think I've made my point, so that is enough out of me for now. Please be sure to Follow, Favorite, Review, and Share this story with anyone and everyone you know who likes Goblin Slayer, as well as Dungeons & Dragons Content! Catch ya on the Flipside! Goblins?

Prologue:

In the Great Heavens, the Home of the Gods, there sit two Gods who watch the Great Gods play upon Time's creation, that of the Four-Cornered World. This deity glares at them as he sees the 6 others playing on his World to their heart's content as if they own it, but Time just seethe. He created that world, and now… However, his thoughts are interrupted as a pair of arms wrap around him. "Fear…" Time says, looking to the Primordial Goddess. She was his counterpart, his opposite, and his beloved… Time was the embodiment of the Natural Order and Balance, it was his job to maintain the Four Cornered World's natural flow of the concepts that Abundance, Death, Illusion, Life, Truth, and Void brought to the World, and ensured that Balance was maintained by them. Fear's job was the embodiment of Pure Chaos and the Power of Chance and Luck. She was known by the Mortals as Lady Luck, and was worshiped by many. However, aside from maintaining the ebb and flow of chance, her other job was to keep account of a person's Karma, which would eventually catch up to them in the end when her dice fell out of favor with them. The two were the only pairing of Gods who truly loved and respected each other, aside from Life and Death, but those two were twins, whereas Time and Fear were there before any of them. "What is it, love?"

"I have a surprise for you…" She whispers and then leads him a distance away from the others, with Illusion noticing the two of them leaving.

"Where are Time and Fear going?" Illusion asks.

"Probably going to do something icky!" Truth says.

"I'm going to go find out!" Illusion says, to which Life and Death give Truth a look that dares him to do anything while she is away. Truth, knowing that Life and Death will make his next few years a waking nightmare if he does anything, puffs out his cheeks and sits cross-legged while Illusion follows Time and Fear.

The goddess in the shape of a little girl follows at a distance until she sees the two vanish behind a door that is just standing there. The two enter, with Illusion, moving as fast as her legs can carry her, jumps silently through the closing door's opening and follows the two Elders until they reach something that shocks her! It is a giant table with stacks of books behind the main two seats! There she sees there are 6 Seats, each of them decorated in the style of 6 of the Lesser Gods of Order and Chaos, with two seats reserved behind a screen for the two. Her eyes widen as she gets a look and sees Time covering his mouth with shock. "You like it, love? I created this private game room, set in an Alternate Universe where the "kids" won't interfere, and we can invite 6 other Gods to play with us in this world." Fear says.

"Fear… This is… How…?" Time struggles to say as he sheds tears, only for Fear to kiss his cheek. "Thank you… I love it!" He smiles at her and they begin listing off what God's they are on good terms with to invite. Illusion, smiling at what she sees, smirks as she quietly sneaks back out the door and makes her way back to the Four Cornered World with a smile on her face.

"So? What did you find out?" Truth asks.

"Something icky…" Illusion simply says, looking disgusted, but Life and Death know she is fibbing, but pretend not to notice. Internally, they are happy for Time and Fear, they hadn't realized it until they overheard one of Time's rants that they had taken over the Four Cornered World that he worked so hard to build, practically kicking him and Fear out of it and running it themselves for their amusement. It's no wonder they never joined in, they wanted to but, unlike the rest of them who wanted to play fast and loose with the rules that Time set up with Fear, the two of them wanted to keep everyone in line and make sure things were, more or less, as nature intended and decided by the roll of the dice and the numbers on the paper, not by the whims of the players who used the dice only as a means to settle disputes. Now that the two of them had their own little world to play in, whole Life and Death wished to make amends, they were happy for them.

Meanwhile, with Time and Fear, they had finally settled on the Gods they would invite, each of them based on the Races of their personal favorite adventurers: The Goblin Slayer, the Priestess, the High Elf Archer, the Dwarf Shaman, and the Lizardman Priest. The corresponding Gods that they would invite would be as follows: The Supreme God, the Earth Mother, The Evergreen, the Smithy God, and the Great Ancestral Spirit Tyrannosaurus. However, that is when Time noticed there was a sixth section and throne, room enough for one more god… That is when he begins thinking about who they could invite to this party…

Soon, the Gods appear, the Supreme God, God of Justice, dressed in the robes of his faith, wielding his signature staff with the image of a sword connected to a pair of scales, he smiles as he sits down in his seat, in which, his section of the table transforms into a perfectly ordered and decorative Judge's Bench, with his seat transforming into a beautiful silver and golden throne. The Earth Mother approaches, taking her place at the table where her seat transforms into something similar to that of the Supreme God's throne, but instead of a Judge's Bench, hers becomes what can be described as something of an altar for her. Next to arrive is the Smithy God, who takes his seat upon his throne, with his section of the table becoming that of polished metal with embedded gemstones, and his throne being carved out of pure stone with gemstones and gold decorating it. The Evergreen comes next, in which she sits down and her chair becomes a throne carved out of a growing tree, whilst her section of the table becomes a natural formation of wood and plants. Finally, there is Tyrannosaurus, who takes on a humanoid version of his true form to sit down upon a throne made of the bones of dinosaurs, whilst his table, much like himself, is covered in bones. However that is when they notice the sixth seat is empty.

"Welcome everyone, to Session Zero of your first Campaign, and my newest Campaign…" Time says to the Gods, "Today we shall begin creating characters for our little miniature campaign set within an alternate world of the Four Cornered World."

"Time…" The Supreme God says, "It seems we are missing one particular god to fill in the last seat. Where are they?"

"That is one of the things I wished to discuss with you today…" Fear says, "While Time and I know you all personally, we don't know enough deities to fully flesh out the amount of people we need… So we were hoping you all would have a suggestion for the final member of our game."

"I think I might know somebody!" The Smithy God says.

"Who?" Time asks.

"The Metallic Overlord, the God who presides over the Dragons of the Four Cornered World!" The Smithy God says, "He's an acquaintance of mine, and has been wanting to receive your permission to see if another Player Race could be added into the Four Cornered World to shake things up."

"I must see what he has planned before I can authorize it!" Time says.

"Then I shall go retrieve him!" The Smithy God says, "I shall be back shortly, continue with the rest of the session whilst I am away!" He stands up, bows slightly and vanishes, the rest of the Gods look at each other and nod as Time begins to set up the rules.

"So this campaign, I believe, will be set within the timeframe of the one who is known as Goblin Slayer. However, if you desire, you can bring in any specific Player Characters you like at their current level into this!" Time says.

"I would like to bring in my Priestess…!" The Earth Mother says, "She is a truly wonderful girl, and I want to see her come into her own with her current level of power."

"I think that is reasonable!" Time says, "What about the rest of you?"

"I would like to play as Goblin Slayer…" The Supreme God says, "Goblin Slayer is not devoted to the Ideals of Justice in the traditional sense, but he is, albeit secretly, one of my most devoted followers."

"How so?" Fear asks, interested.

"I studied Goblin Slayer's backstory very carefully, but he is one of my most fervent believers, though he didn't show it as a child. However, once he devoted himself to becoming the Goblin Slayer, he delved deep into my tenets to find that there is an older cult of my Faith, one no longer properly recognized, where it was believed that when Legal Justice failed, Poetic Justice would work just as well." The Supreme God says, "He follows that faith, and even expresses his beliefs in that part of my faith because of the Priestess…" He looks to the Earth Mother, who tilts her head. "Because she questioned him about there being good goblins, he honestly wished there were, but because he has never found one, he kills them without mercy."

"And what if there were good goblins?" The Earth Mother says.

"There were once…" Time says, pointing above them towards the two moons of the Four Cornered World… "They were known as the Verdan… They were a race of Goblins that Fear and I created, Goblins that were good at heart… But, unfortunately, they were all killed by the Goblins centuries ago… There are none of them left… But I made sure the lore about them was preserved…" He looks down sorrowfully, "They lived upon the moons, but, unfortunately, after the Chaos Gods of the Orcs had enslaved them, they changed from the purely good creatures they once were into the Goblins we know today."

"I am sorry, Lord Time…" The Earth Mother says. That is when the door opens and the group sees the Smithy God returning with the Metallic Overlord, who takes on the form of a young man with white hair and crimson eyes, and as he sits upon his seat, his throne turns to gold and silver with the same of his part of the table.

"Welcome back, shorty!" The Evergreen says, to which the Smithy God just "humphs" and takes his seat again. "We were just thinking of recreating Goblin Slayer's party!"

"Oh, now that is interesting!" The Smithy God says, "So are we recreating them exactly?"

"In spirit, at least…!" Fear says, bringing out books for everyone to use. "We will be recreating them as best as we can, anyway. Now, Metallic Overlord, what is this about a new Player Race you wished to introduce?" That is when the Metallic Overlord hands Fear and Time a set of papers, in which the two look it over carefully:

"Dragons are not Slaves, and neither am I!" Vermithrax, The Great Red Dragon of Atlantis

All know of the Dragons that exist throughout the multiverse, from the Amoral Dragons of Abeir, to the morally extreme dragons of Torill, many worlds in the multiverse have dragons either united under a common ideal with no morals or goals other than World Domination, or possibly even humanoids who had been transformed into a dragon through a secret ritual that granted them this form in exchange for allegiance to either Tiamat or Bahamut. Whatever the case could be, a great cataclysm, now known as the Great Revelation, came to pass, and all dragons throughout the multiverse were freed from the mental and spiritual shackles that bound them, truly giving them free will and chaos. Whether born as a Dragon or transformed into one through a secret ritual, you are now among the great many young and inexperienced dragons who now have true freedom, and now no one else can decide your fate.

Dead Ends:

The Aftereffects of the Great Revelation had not just allowed the Dragons to obtain their physical and spiritual freedom from Bahamut and Tiamat, but it had also caused a wide variety of changes to the Dragon Race as a whole. The Most prominent and obvious of this being that there were Dragons who were born weaker than the rest of their clutchmates, having their natural abilities randomized at birth, and not being up to the basis of what most dragons would consider normal. What is more, these Wyrmlings would actually be capable of imitating the capabilities of the humanoid races, their physical capabilities matching them as well. These weaker dragons were coined as Dead Ends, dragons who were so weak by the comparison of their siblings that they were considered nothing more than dead meat without training and guidance. However, what a Dead End generally lacks in the raw physical and mental potential of it's parents, it more than makes up for in versatility. What is more, a Dead End is capable of growing stronger much faster than the rest of their kind, not through age, but through combat experience. Add to this the fact their bodies would physically and mentally age much faster in comparison to their size, most dragons are left perplexed by this. However, when these dragons reach the Young Stage, they often leave the nest, like the rest of their siblings, but are more drawn to the populated regions of humans, and, when their parents next meet them, it is often as a part of a party of adventurers, whether seeking aid from the parents, or to slay them, depending on how the parent had raised them.

Draconification:

It is often said in the Legends of the World that Dragons often hoard gemstones among the many great treasures that they keep in their lairs, some even decorating their bodies with gemstones as a form of armor to protect their soft underbellies. However, his is not true, a Dragons entire body is Armored both above and below, and the real reason why they decorate themselves with gemstones is actually much more fascinating.

When a dragon hatches from it's egg, a single scale on it's Body is often formed backwards, and this scale generally forms on the forehead, under the chin, the front of the neck, or the palm of the dragon's dominant forepaw. This reversed scale, as the Dragon grows older, takes on the appearance of a scale-shaped gemstone, and will faintly glow with an inner light matching the dragon's innate magic. This scale is often located at these areas because this is where the dragon's very special nerve that initiates their breath weapon and sorcerous capabilities. When this weak point is struck, a dragon temporarily loses access to it's Breath weapon and any sorcerous spells they have trained up over the years for a very limited amount of time. Not only that, the amount of pain they experience from this scale being touched in a fight, causes the dragon so much excruciating pain that they fly into an animalistic rage killing and destroying indiscriminately until they manage to recover from the pain.

For this reason, Dragons attempt to protect the location of this scale by coating their bodies in gemstones, embedding gemstones of the same color into their scales, not only as a show of their majesty and wealth, but also as a means to hide and protect their Reversed Scale. However there is another reason why they go out of their way to protect this scale, as it is part of the most important aspect of the Dragon's Culture. When a Dragons fall in love, and decide to devote themselves to a single partner, they will often exchange each other's Reversed Scales with each other before mating, signifying their eternal bond. But what if a dragon falls in love with a mortal, you may ask, well the Reversed scale then comes into play with a special aspect of Dragon Culture: Draconification.

Whether the Dragon Falls in love with a mortal, adopts a mortal as it's own child, or is defeated in battle by a spunky group of adventurers that had earned the dragon's respect as combatants, Draconification is considered a very sacred act of turning a mortal creature into one of it's own kind. The Process of Draconification is a secret most dragons keep to themselves, and something only a handful of people learn about when they fight dragons. The Ritual involves the Dragon pouring a massive amount of it's ambient magic into the Reversed Scale, and then giving it to the individual they deem worthy of it. The scale then shrinks down to the size of a medicinal ball, and it is then swallowed. The Reversed Scale then proceeds to transform the individual rapidly, violently, and painfully, into a dragon whose age category is appropriate to the user's current age as a mortal, with most people who go through this ritual being turned into young dragons. The actual timing on when the individual ingests the scale often has different effects on the user.

If the person swallows the scale while they are healthy, and immediately after they recieve the scale, they will transform into a dragon of an appropriate age category with all of their memories intact. If the person is dying when this is done, then the scale will expend most of it's power during the transformation to heal the individual, which will, in turn, sacrifice some, if not all, of the memories of the individual once the transformation is complete. However, once the transformation is done, the user will have the ability to transform back into their previous form at will, allowing them to blend in with normal society, but they will also develop a reversed scale of their own and if this individual has children with mortals or other dragons, there is a chance the individual will look completely mortal, but with aspects of a dragon, like Draconic Sorcery, Draconic Ki, or even being born with a Drake by their side. However, Draconification is a permanent process, and, eventually, the centuries transformed individual remains alive will cause them to forget who they were as a mortal, and fully embrace their draconic transformation, as if their original lives never existed.

When you or another creature you can see within 5 feet of you is hit by an attack roll, you can use your reaction to move your wings to their, or your own, defense. You grant a bonus to the target's AC equal to your proficiency bonus against that attack roll, potentially causing it to miss. If the attack still hits, or is a critical hit, depending on who you are protecting one of two things can happen:

-If you are protecting yourself, you will recieve full damage.

-If you are protecting an ally, then you will recieve half damage rounded up, and your target will recieve half damage rounded down.

You can use this special reaction once per turn.

Metallic Breath Weapon

At 5th level, you gain a choice of a second breath weapon. When you take the Attack action on your turn, you can replace one of your attacks with an exhalation in a 15-foot cone. The save DC for this breath is 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus. When you gain this trait, you may choose one of the following:

Enervating Breath. Each creature in the cone must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or become incapacitated until the start of your next turn.

Repulsion Breath. Each creature in the cone must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be pushed 20 feet away from you and be knocked prone.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses after a Long Rest.

After a few minutes, Time nods, "This is interesting, but what is this AC?"

"I had done some mathematics according to the Rules for the Dragons of the age range that I set for this race, and after adding them all together and dividing by the number of individuals, it came to 17.5, but I decided to round it down to be a bit more fair." The Metallic Overlord explains.

"That makes sense!" Time says, "We will allow it, but aside from that, you will need to use one of the approved classes and specializations…"

"Damn… Alright, fair…" The Metallic Overlord says, "Though, could I talk with you for a quick second about a small modification I would like to add to the one I have in mind?"

"Hm?" Time asks, to which the two step from the table and begin whispering as Metallic Overlord shows him the small modification he wishes to perform in the particular version of his class. "Okay I think that is fair, but from here on, I will only allow it to be used in conjunction with your Unarmed Strikes, not your Natural Weapons.

"Thank you!" The Metallic Overlord says, "Also, regarding this particular rule here…"

"Oh, are you asking…?" Time asks, both of them whispering. "Oh shit… I guess I should have clarified that… Yes it does…" They whisper again.

"Oh thank goodness, the rules as written didn't explain that."

"My apologies, I should go back and rewrite it a little." Time says, "I tend to get so focused on things that I tend to overlook some mistakes."

"That is understandable." The Metallic Overlord says, sitting down back at the table as he gets to work, in which Time passes out to everyone what appear to be obsidian mirrors with golden frames and the appearance ripples and lights up, revealing a simplified process for their character sheets, in which everyone then gets to work on what they wish to create.

"Now for everyone, remember, aside from the Earth Mother's characters, you are creating characters that are Silver Rank, so, at bare minimum, 16th Level. Earth Mother's Character will be at Sapphire Rank, 8th Level. Other than that, do your best to recreate your chosen characters as best as you can, use any optional rules you like." Everyone nods as they set to creating their characters as the miniatures begin to take form in front of them. Once everyone is ready, Time smiles as he hands everyone their dice, in which he then looks to see Metallic Overlord gently bring out his miniature and sets it down.

"A DRAGON!?" The Smithy God exclaims, "That's the race you wished to have approved? Isn't that way too strong?"

"I actually created a Player Character Variant that is much weaker than the Non-Player Dragons… However, in exchange for their weakness, they have greater versatility and powers their non-player counterparts don't have." He then passes to each of them copies of the Race's abilities, and they look at it carefully with scrutinizing eyes.

"Ha! I think this will be hilarious if Dwarf Shaman has to work with both an Elf and a Dragon!"

"That's the irony I was hoping for!" Metallic Overlord says, smiling. He sets the White Dragon down with a smile on his face and, as Time sets up his dice with a smile on his face, he looks at the group.

"Now… Shall we begin?"

Frontier Town Adventurers Guild:

"Orc? Do you mean "Oak"?" Guild Girl asks, looking at the person shouting at her. "No, I meant Orc! Orcbolg! I heard that he works here at this guild!" A High Elf woman says firmly to Guild Girl.

"I don't think there is anyone here under that name, let me run a quick check!"

"Ah needn't bother, lassy!" A Dwarf says, smiling as he walks over, "Longears here doesn't remember that we're in human territory, so her fancy speech won't do anyone any favors! Though I must ask, have you heard the name of "Beardcutter"?"

"Uh, no I actually haven't…" Guild Girl says.

"Eh!?"

"Now who's talking funny?" The High Elf asks, smirking, "Shouldn't expect much from Dwarves, you guys may be as solid as a rock, but you're also just as dense!"

"Ah Shaddap!" The Dwarf says, "Then again, I shouldn't expect much from you Elves… One such as yourself has a heart as hard as an anvil, and a chest just as flat!"

"HEY! WOULD YOU STOP MOCKING ME, YOU DIRTY OLD MAN?! I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW I BIND MY CHEST TO MAKE IT EASIER TO SHOOT!"

"Yeah right, like I would believe an Anvil." The Dwarf says.

"So says the race whose women are as thick as a barrel!" The Elf shouts.

"Uhm, excuse me, could you both just calm down?"

"Oh yeah? At least our pleasingly plump girls aren't as fragile as a reed!"

"Oh no…" Guild Girl asks, only for then her to notice a shadow and she covers her ears as someone breathes in deeply. The Guild then screams in shock and pain as they cover their ears when a blood curdling screech-like roar gets their attention.

The Table

"High Elf Archer, Dwarf Shaman… I am going to say… Roll a Constitution Save…" Time says.

"14!" The Evergreen says.

"Ha! 16!" The Smithy God says.

"What was the DC they needed to make?"

"15…"

Adventurers Guild

"OOW!" The High Elf shouts, holding her ears as her ears ring loudly from that whilst Dwarf Shaman groans in pain.

"Pardon me you two…" A Lizardman says, stepping forward, "But if you two must bicker, could you please take it outside?"

'Now a Lizardman and…' Guild Girl thinks and then looks in shock, "A DRAGON!?" Every guild member recovering from the roar turns to see a White Dragon with tinges of red with violet eyes, and most of them draw their weapons.

"A DRAGON! HIS HIDE IS MINE!" Spearman shouts, charging forward, jumping up and launching his spear forward, only for the dragon to catch the spear's tip between his teeth, only for the other three to aim their weapons at Spearman. "What are you doing!? There is a monster that needs-"

"Look at his chest, moron!" The High Elf says, to which Spearman looks down and sees what appears to be a metal collar made of silver, with a Silver Rank Tag on it.

"What!? You're an Adventurer!?" Spearman asks, stunning the other adventurers as they look at the Dragon, who continues to hold the spear between his teeth. "Well, answer me?"

"Pardon me, sir, but you seem to forget he has your spear in his mouth, and it is rude to talk with your mouth full." The Lizardman says, to which the Spearman looks at the Dragon and slowly pulls back his spear, the Dragon releasing his grip on the weapon.

"Now that was rude, and according to the laws of the guild, you could've lost your ability to work as an adventurer permanently had you drawn blood, mistaken identity or not." the Dragon says, snorting angrily.

"That doesn't answer my question, beast!"

"Now now…" Witch says, walking over… "You shouldn't… Try to force answers out of him…"

"But…!"

"I am a dragon, that is for sure, but I am sure you adventurers don't often ask my kind why they go on the rampages we do, you just simply kill us and steal our hoards for your own gain!" The Dragon says, "We have much longer lifespans than elves do, and as such, we're often looking for things to do. I've been asked by my father to set an example for my people that there is a way we can increase our hoards without having to go on the rampages most of us do to stifle our boredom. That is why I worked my way up to Silver Rank before revealing myself as a Dragon!"

"Wait a minute…" Heavy Warrior says, walking up, "I recognize you from a job I did a while back, you're Dragon Hunter, aren't you?"

"Dragon Hunter?" Some of the adventurers ask.

"Long time no see, Heavy…" Dragon Hunter says, "I'm surprised you recognize me outside of my human form."

"How could I forget that damn collar around your neck? In your human form, that thing almost looks like a fancy breastplate of some kind." Heavy Warrior says, smirking at him. "So what brings you here?"

"I think I can explain that…" Lizardman Priest says.

'I hope he does, cuz this is very unusual…' Guild Girl thinks, 'A High Elf, her mortal enemy, a dwarf, a Lizardman Adventurer, which you hardly ever see… Above it all, the entire Party has the kingdom renowned Dragon Hunter, an odd party of Silvers together in one group.'

"The one we seek has earned these title of "Orcbolg" by the Elves, and "Beardcutter" by the Dwarves. Unfortunately, my knowledge of the human language is a bit rusty, but I think both of these translate to the same thing: Goblin Slayer…"

"Oh Goblin Slayer!"

"Goblins? Where?" A voice asks, echoing from inside of ill-kept armor, with a cute young woman walking up behind him.

"Oh Welcome back, Priestess, Goblin Slayer!" This causes the High Elf, Dwarf, and Lizardman to look in surprise, but that is when Dragon Hunter walks over.

"Long time no see, Goblin Slayer…" Dragon Hunter says.

"Dragon Hunter…?" Goblin Slayer asks, "What are you doing here…? Why are you not in disguise…?"

"I dropped it over a year ago, caused quite a stir!" Dragon Hunter says, smiling. "Anyway, my associates and I were hoping you'd listen to us about an offer we have for you…" He then leans in, whispering to Goblin Slayer. "Also be prepared for this group to beat around the bush with much bigger topics that don't relate to the actual offer."

"Understood…" Goblin Slayer says.

"Goblin Slayer, how about you take this business into the meeting room upstairs?" Guild Girl says.

"I'm coming with you!"

"No… You need some rest after the last one…" Goblin Slayer says, to which Priestess, a bit dejected, goes to the side and sits down with a cup of tea.

"Are you coming with?" High Elf Archer asks Dragon Hunter as she walks towards the stairs."

"Nah, I'm staying down here, I want to have a chat with the girl." Dragon Hunter says, to which the dragon walks over to the young woman…

The Table

"I would like to roll an Insight Check to see if Priestess is doing okay!" Metallic Overlord says.

"Go ahead…" Time says, "Wait, what is your Passive Insight?"

"Uh… 17?"

"You can already tell that something is definitely bothering me…" The Earth Mother says, "I'm actually moping a bit as I've been left out of what Goblin Slayer is doing."

"As this is going on you start hearing something…" Fear says, "Somebody saying "Hey… Hey"!"

Adventurers Guild

"Oh! Um…" Priestess says as she sees two low-ranked adventurers standing behind her. "Yes?"

"Do you… Do you wanna come adventuring with us?" The boy asks.

"Sorry, but I'm already in an adventuring party!" Priestess says.

"Oh, you mean that armored guy?" The girl asks.

"We know, that's exactly why we're talking to you!" The young man says, "He's a total weirdo and a creep! I mean what Silver-Rank goes after goblins all the time? I mean, you're new, and we thought… That maybe he's only using you as-"

"Bait?" A voice asks from behind them, to which they turn to see Dragon Hunter glaring down at them. "Is that what you were going to say?"

The Table

"Roll me an Intimidation Check…!" Fear says, to which the entire group looks at him excitedly.

"22!" Metallic Overlord says, to which Fear smirks.

The young man looks at Dragon Hunter, terrified as he looks at him, almost to the point of pissing himself, but then steels his nerves. "You really think Goblin Slayer would be so callous and cruel to use one of his own party members as bait?" Dragon Hunter asks.

"Yeah, I mean, why wouldn't he? Don't goblins enjoy pretty girls?"

"Then let me ask you this… What would you do if everyone you knew and loved were killed by a dragon? One who saw your people as nothing more than food, playthings, or simply ants beneath their paws?" He looks directly into the young man's face, "You'd want to slaughter every one of us, wouldn't you? The hatred in you would burn so strongly that you wouldn't stop until either you died, or every last dragon was slain…"

"How would you know!?" The young man shouts, glaring at him.

"Because…" He looks to the young man, "That is how I once viewed you humans, after your kind slaughtered my family's servants, killed my parents, and murdered my siblings, then taking their hoard." The young man looks at the Dragon in shock, "I was prepared to do anything to eliminate your race, no matter the cost… I was even captured and sold into slavery… Until one day I was freed by a Gold Rank Adventurer who took me into her care, healed me, and, using her vast influence and resources, found my family's murderers and brought them to justice…" His talons scratch the wood of the floor as everyone looks at him with shock and pity. "It was because of a random act of kindness that I changed my mind about you people… However, Goblin Slayer never had that kind of person for him, so his hatred for Goblins still burns strong… Strong enough that he's willing to push himself to the brink of death to slaughter as many as he can…"

"But-"

"But, if I know him, there is one thing he will never do… And that is sacrifice the innocent to kill them… I can see it in his eyes that he doesn't want to put anyone through the same pain he has suffered because of those fiends…" He glares down, "Now run along…"

"Come on, let's go, before you make him mad!" The young cleric says, knowing that her partner has overstepped his boundaries. Dragon Hunter sighs as he looks at the two walking off, and snorts angrily at them.

"Now, for you… You're currently partied up with Goblin Slayer, correct?" Dragon Hunter asks, sitting next to her, using his tail akin to a seat.

"Yes, I'm currently with him!"

"Heh, "with him"... You know, doing so must be extremely difficult, and he's kind of dense on certain subjects." The Dragon Hunter takes on a human form, transforming into a handsome young man with olive skin that is tan with a golden undertone, white hair, and dark purple eyes that seem to glow with an inner fire as he sets down a bowl, and adds plants to it before snapping his fingers. "Inflammarae…" A small candle's flame appears on his thumb as he lights the dried plants on fire, before breathing in the smoke, which has a heavy scent of incense. She looks at the young man, seeing him only dressed in what appears to be a pair of pants that hang loose around his waist, whilst the rest of his body is muscular and covered in scars.

'Amazing!' Priestess thinks, turning bright red.

"You like what you see?" The young man asks, smiling at her, to which the young Priestess turns even redder.

"I- Uh- Uhm-!" Priestess says.

"I know Goblin Slayer can be a bit nuts, but even he is not above asking for help… I mean, I heard from Witch that he recently asked her about a Spell Scroll… And while Goblin Slayer does go after Goblins all the time, he is keeping the numbers of that despicable monster race low, and it earns him the respect of the common folk he unknowingly protects with his rage, unlike some bigger idiots who go after larger prey to earn a night in bed with somebody." That is when they hear somebody sneezing in the background. "It can be a bit tough keeping up with him."

"Yes, he is a Silver Rank, and because of the difference, I can hardly keep up with him, and I only cause trouble. Should I just leave him alo-" That is when a small burst of frost and flash of cold catch the young girl off guard. "So cold!"

"Now stop thinking like that, little one." Dragon Hunter says, "What he does is good for the world, keeping their local populations as low as possible to ensure much smarter goblins don't get any funny ideas, and he keeps doing it without taking a break to allow his body to recover enough so he can keep fighting. Just as importantly, the capital is overrun with demons, and the soldiers have their hands so full that they can hardly deal, less likely want to deal, with creatures they consider lesser threats." he then inhales more incense and breathes the smoke onto Priestess, who is a bit taken aback by it, "However, if you do decide to stick with him, let it be by your own decision. You're much stronger than you give yourself credit for… And you aren't tapping into as much power as you allow yourself to show, given the fact you're much stronger than any porcelain rank I know, despite "barely" keeping up with him." This causes the Priestess to freeze up.

The Table

"I would like to contest this!" The Earth Mother says, "There is no way he would know this!"

"That is true, but I only meant it as a form of motivation!" Metallic Overlord says, "However, I think this might be interesting, so I will contest it!" He holds up his dice.

"Metallic Overlord, Roll me both an Insight and an Arcana, while Earth Mother, you roll me Deception and Persuasion!" The two roll their dice, looking at Time.

"14 Persuasion, 18 on Deception!" The Earth Mother says.

"21 Arcana, and 19 Insight!" Metallic Overlord says.

"Fuck!" The Earth Mother says.

Adventurer's Guild

"H-H-How did you know!?" Priestess asks, trying to stop herself from shouting.

"Simple really…" Dragon Hunter says, smirking at her, "Ki and Spell Slots are more closely linked than you think, and, when I compared your Ki to that of the girl you were just talking to, yours was around 8x stronger than hers."

"Oh no…" Priestess says.

"Hey, don't worry about it… I won't breathe a word…" Dragon Hunter says, "But if you are going to stay with Goblin Slayer, you should stop holding back, and show him how serious you actually are about being in his party!" He then finishes his meditation before going to get some food.

The Table

"Looking as Dragon Hunter leaves, Priestess can't help but contemplate his words. However, at the same time, she can't seem to get the dragon's human form out of her mind, especially that body of his."

"Okay, now that bit of drama is over, let's switch over to Goblin Slayer and the others!"

Adventurer's Guild, Meeting Room

"Are you actually a Silver Rank Adventurer?" High Elf asks, skeptical about what she is seeing right in front of her.

"The Guild seems to think so…" Goblin Slayer says.

"Feh, I doubt it, I've seen bugs far more intimidating than you." High Elf says, "You look extremely weak and your armor is so terrible."

"Oh Longears, you shouldn't judge a book…" Dwarf says, "Take a closer look at his armaments…" The Dwarf gives Goblin Slayer an earnest look, "Half-Plate armor with a Layer of Chainmail and helmet that not only provides ease of movement, but is perfect for blocking the weak but nimble weapons that the Goblins tend to use, he also has a Targe Shield with a shortened Arming Sword designed for fighting in caves and other cramped conditions."

"Well if it's so good, then why doesn't he keep his equipment clean."

"Goblins can pick up the scents of oils and cleaning agents used to tend to armor normally, keeping it in a state like this covers my scent. For the most part…" Goblin Slayer explains.

"You see, Longears, you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. Goblin Slayer may appear weak but that is only because he specializes in hunting Goblins. Not only that, because you're so squeaky clean, they'd smell you from miles away." The Dwarf says, "You shouldn't be so in love with your bow. You're nothing more than a brat who ran away from home out of boredom, so you should listen to those who are older and have more experience!"

"I'm 20 centuries old, and how old are you?" The High Elf asks.

"106 Years old…" The Dwarf says.

"HA! Calling me a child? To me you're anything but, yet you've aged so poorly in your time on earth!" High Elf says.

"Enough you, two…" The Lizardman says, "You bring shame to us with shorter lifespans… Or do I need to get Dragon Hunter and roar in your ears again?" High Elf Archer sits up straight and shuts up at that point.

"Now, what do you want with me?" Goblin Slayer asks, getting annoyed.

"I'm sure you've been hearing the rumors about the demons being in the Capital."

"No I haven't…"

"At the head of this army of demons is a Demon King who is intent on destroying the world."

"Oh?" Goblin Slayer asks.

"We were hoping that you'd help us-"

"Find somebody else!" Goblin Slayer says, snapping at her. "My only concern are the Goblins!"

"WHAT!?" High Elf Archer shouts. "How can you say that!? Don't you understand that an Army of Demons is threatening to overrun the world!? Don't you realize what is at stake here!?"

"I know fully well, but while you are focusing on the large picture about gathering armies to defeat these demons, what you fail to understand is that the Armies will need supplies from the villages that will be much more lightly defended." Goblin Slayer says firmly, "These places will be vulnerable to Goblin Raids, and as such, the supply lines of these armies will be cut off if the Goblins destroy everything! They can't be spared just because the world is in danger!"

"GOD DAMN YOU!"

"Longears, calm down! You have to remember why we're here!"

"Sir Goblin Slayer, while my long-eared friend is extremely hotheaded and passionate about this, the truth of the matter is that we've come to recruit your aid in hunting down a massive infestation of Goblins." The Lizardman Priest says.

"Alright, I'll do it! Where are they, how many are there, how big is the nest? Do they have Shamans, Champions, Lords?" Goblin Slayer asks.

"What the…?" High Elf Archer asks, completely shocked.

"You see, Longears?" Dwarf Shaman asks, "You need to think before you act, besides… He made a good point… If the Goblins are left alone, they will attack the defenseless villages while everybody's busy fighting the demons."

"While I am sure you are concerned about the Goblins, please let us backpedal to explain the real reason why we are here." Lizardman Priest explains, "You see, with the rising of the Demon Lord that had escaped it's prison, the Kings of Men called a conference with the Chieftains of my People, the Kings of the Elves and Dwarves, as well as a few of the Dragon Suzerains who were willing to respond, to handle any threats posed in each other's territories."

"And the four of us, including Dragon Hunter, are the representatives of this alliance." Dwarf Shaman explains.

"A great battle is coming for us all, but I'm sure that you're not interested in that."

"Our first mission as a group is to take care of a huge nest of goblins that have been encroaching on Elven Lands, making a nuisance of themselves within the local region." Dwarf Shaman says, "What's more, this particular nest is extremely close to a particular neck of the woods that belongs to Longear's clan. It's no wonder she's so aggressive, anxious, and acting rashly."

"Have your reports turned up any Champions or Lords among the Horde?"

"Champions? Lords? What are those?" Lizardman Priest asks.

"They are Goblin Heroes and Kings, one specializing in overwhelming power and combat strategy, while the other is specialized in directing troops from the backline." Goblin Slayer says, "Think of them as Gold and Platinum Ranked Adventurers for Goblins."

"As we said, our investigation has turned up a massive nest."

"Let me guess, the Military isn't going to do anything about it?" Goblin Slayer asks, "Typical."

"That is where you are wrong, Orcbolg. The thing is my people want to make a move against the Goblins, but the Kings of Men don't trust us, despite seeing us as allies. If we united to eliminate this threat, then the Humans might think we were plotting something." High Elf Archer explains.

"That is why they sent us adventurers in their stead. However, we are missing a key component amongst our ranks, and that is a Human Silver Rank to act as the representative for the Human Kings, so they feel at ease. Since your reputation for hunting goblins is well known, we thought you'd be interested in helping us cleanse this nest." Lizardman Priest says.

"Do you have a map of the area?"

"Yes!" Lizardman Priest says, turning over the map.

"Ancient Ruins… How many?"

"We don't know, but with the size of the ruins, we suspect there to be a massive amount." Lizardman Priest says.

"Alright, I need to reload on supplies before I head out. Pay me whatever you desire." Goblin Slayer says, making his way downstairs.

"No way! Is he thinking of going at it alone?" High Elf Archer asks.

Adventurer's Guild, Reception Hall/Tavern

"Hey Receptionist!" Spearman says, "You look lonely, my lady-"

"Goblins." Goblin Slayer says, making his way to the Receptionist.

"Oh that didn't take long! So it was a job?" Receptionist asks, with Spearman glaring at Goblin Slayer.

"The Lizardman will give you the details. I'm heading out, so I'm going to need the pay for the last quest." Goblin Slayer says.

"Oh but you haven't written your report yet!" Receptionist says, "But I suppose I can make an exception for you!"

"I only need my share, give the rest to the girl." Goblin Slayer says.

"Oh? Are you going alone? But she-"

"She should rest." Goblin Slayer says.

"Goblin Slayer!" Priestess says, walking over, "It was a quest, wasn't it?"

"Yes, it's goblins."

"Right, I'll go rearm and then-"

"No, you're staying here." Goblin Slayer says, to which Priestess looks at him in shock as the group makes their way downstairs.

"THAT'S NOT FAIR!" Priestess shouts, "Why didn't… Would you discuss it with me first?"

"We are right now." Goblin Slayer says.

"Wait, you think we're discussing it?" Priestess asks.

"Isn't it?" Goblin Slayer asks…

The Table

"Okay I call bullshit!" The Earth Mother says, "I'm insighting this guy to see if he is telling the truth!"

"But I am!" The Supreme God says.

"Then Priestess, roll me Insight, and Goblin Slayer roll me Persuasion!" Time says, smiling.

"16!" The Supreme God says.

"18!" The Earth Mother says.

"Priestess, you can tell by his tone of voice alone that he clearly thinks that he is in the middle of a discussion right now. He's clearly so lacking in social skills that he thinks that deciding things on his own without asking the opinion and considering the feelings of the other person is clearly a discussion."

Adventurers Guild

"It really isn't much of a conversation or a discussion if you've already decided it for yourself." Priestess says, snickering.

"It isn't?" Goblin Slayer asks, genuinely confused.

"I'm going with you, as if I'd leave you alone! I just need some time to finish my food, tea, and then re-supply! I think you should get yourself a bit to eat before we go as well. Can't fight efficiently or travel very far on an empty stomach."

"True…" Goblin Slayer says, making his way to get something to eat. "Do as you wish."

"I plan on it!"

"Ha! If a girl like her can put up with that, I say she has some real promise." Dwarf Shaman says, "At least things won't be boring!"

"If I put in the request and didn't offer my aid, my ancestors would be ashamed and furious with me." Lizardman Priest says, walking down.

"I really don't get it…" High Elf Archer says, to which she notices Dragon Hunter making his way to them.

"Finally, I was getting bored waiting for you guys!" Dragon Hunter says.

"Humph… This is just the kind of thing I left the Forest to see!" High Elf Archer says, "Now wait up, you three, don't you know you should respect your elders!?"

The Table

"And that is where we will end Session Zero!" Time says, smiling, everyone smiling as they shake their limbs. "That was a fairly nice start to the game, not too long, not too short, but I think the perfect length for us to get started!"

"Question, will we be following the same timeline as the Four Cornered World?"

"Generally, but I think I'll throw in some interesting changes here and there to keep things fresh!" Time explains, "However, I will leave it to Chaos to make the changes that will make everyone invested in the story!"

"That sounds interesting!" The Smithy God says, "Though I think we should all pitch in on bringing snacks for everyone, as running our brains like this will end up burning through much of our strength."

"Sounds good, I will make the modifications to the Table, but until then, I believe we should head back and get back to our jobs! We will need to focus on our tasks until the next session!"

"Right!" Everyone says as they shake hands and begin to walk away, with Time smiling as he looks to the table, and then begins to think about what he could do for the next round. After everyone is gone, he pulls Fear into his arms and kisses her passionately.

"This was a great idea, Fear. I really appreciate it!"

"I am glad you do. But, so you know, I will be dealing with the Combat Encounters, you can take care of the social stuff!"

"That's fine with me! I can't run a good combat encounter for spit." Time says, smiling at her, to which the two then clean up and reorganize everything before making their way back to the original Four Cornered World, time sparing one last glance at the Table, before looking at you dear readers. "See ya next time at the Table…" He closes the door behind him as the world turns completely black.
