Today is my engagement party also Abby's . We were best friends in school but I am two years older than her so I chose earlier than she chose . I am now with the lieutenant Alan Davis and she is with my best friend from initiate class : Amar . Amar took the job as instructor and I took the job as a leader in training plus ambassador .

He has lighter skin tone but no hair . He has light brown eyebrows and eyes . He has brownish beard around his chin . He has black stripped tattoos on his neck and back of hand.

He is talking with his friends now . I sit with Abby and our friends .

"Oh， I didn't know you and Alan are together not until when we finished the training." Elizabeth rolls her eyes ."Such a good pretender ."

"I couldn't show that. I didn't want other people to talk about him." I sigh."I am sorry."

"I understand you." Elisa shrugs ."I am with one of the leader now too."Elisa sighs ."You didn't even find out."

Spark comes downstair . He is one of the youngest leader here

"Good evening Elisa . Congratulation Delia and Abby." Spark kisses Elisa ."I will be right back."

"Be careful honey，" Elisa kisses him back.

Alan Davis and Amar walk to us . Alan Davis sits beside me .

"I have prepared you two surprise ." Alan Davis holds my hand ."One will be here soon."

"What is the surprise then!" I blink my eyes at him.

"That's a surprise!" Alan kisses my cheek."A secret."

The door opens and I turn around . I see my family are standing right there .

"Dad ? Mom? Why are you guys here!" I am shocked.

"Mr Davis invites us over ." Mom smiles at me ."He is so nice ."

Alan wraps his arms around me . I know that he knows how much I have been missing my family.

"Alan you shouldn't do this . If they find out， then you will be in trouble ." I look worried.

"Never mind ， as long as you are happy. I will do anything. I have another one for you. I will go get it." He smiles ."Just wait me for a bit."

Alan leaves the room. I sit my family down. Maria and beatrice look around. Caleb sits beside dad so quiet.

"Here is so pretty." Maria exclaims .

"Yes it is ." Sam walks toward us ."Do you want to take a tour?"

"Sure ." Maria stands up. "Are you going with me ?"

Sam walks away with Maria . Max and Jeanine Matthew come downstairs

"Congratulation Abby and Delia . However Amar I need you and four to come with me ." Jeanine Matthew sighs . "We found a problem with your and four's simulation. We have to test again so we make sure nothing going wrong with our technologies ."

"Sure , I will inform four about it. I will be there after a minute ."Amar smiles

"I will wait." Jeanine Matthew walks away with max

Max lands his hand on Abby. Abby seems nervous . Amar kisses Abby.

"I will be right back. No matter what happen Abby, please remember that I love you." Amar sighs .

He stands up snd leaves . Abby is shivering. Alan comes back now . He has a big box in his hand .

"Delia , here is the surprise that I have for you." He opens the box

There is a big diamond necklace in the box . I saw that necklace somewhere before . Yes that was before I came to dauntless . I saw that in the mall.

"That is very expensive Alan." Rose comes toward us . "You said that you will give to someone that you will love for the whole entire life . Is that girl me ?"

"That's for Delia . My precious girl in the whole world." Alan puts the necklace on me . "Do you love it."

"I love everything from you but it is too expensive ." I am shocked . "Why did you get it for me ."

Alan kisses my forehead . He wraps me into his arms .

"I saw you were looking at necklace with your sisters and you love it . The diamond on the necklace is deemed for a man to give to their lover . You are my lover forever . So I want you to feel my love ." Alan sighs .

I take the necklace off and put back in the box .

"I will have it but only wear it for special occasion. I don't want to break it." I say.

It's yours so you make the decision." Alan smiles

Then we hear scream. I am tensed up. Alan looks at me . We all know what happened .

"It's Amar! He jumps ." A woman screams and opens the door

"Jessy, what's happening?" Alan clinches his fist.

"Amar just jumped ." Jessy is crying. "I saw it."

Maria and Sam come back and Sam bites his lips

"Alan we need to go." Sam shakes his head .

Alan puts down the box . I put the box inside of my pocket and follow them. Abby rushes to the chasm already. When we get there , four is standing there staring at the bag.

"Amar! No my Amar!" Abby is crying. "He is my fiancé . Why?" Abby screams . "My auntie did that."

Mom walks behind me . She looks calm . Did she knows that this will happen? Why didn't she even tell me

"Mom , did you know this will happen?"i ask her

"No, however this happen not only in dauntless ." Mom shakes her head . "I guess that Amar is divergent."

"Mom I am also….." I say in a lower voice

Mom shakes her head . I know that she knows about it.

"You have Alan and Alan is the leader of dauntless . No one will ever suspect a leader and their wife . However Amar is just an instructor ." Mom rolls her eyes . "I have to go Delia . Good luck and be safe ."

She kisses my forehead and leaves . Alan comes to me . He wraps me into his arms .

"Alan , will you be the next one . I am scared ." I Cry.

"I will not be the next one Delia . I have been here for 10 years and like your mom said that no one will suspect a leader ." Alan smiles at me . "Plus I hid very well. My instructor didn't even need to delete my record ."

"How did you know how to hid . Did you know this before you came ." I frown

He was Candor born . I didn't know this until he showed me his fear landscape with his monster dad inside it.

"Yes , my dad told me this . This is the only right thing that he did to protect his own reputation." Alan grits his teeth.

"I really appreciated his effort for this . I don't want to lose you." I hug him tight.

"Why did he do this to me ? Did he really love me ?" Abby is crying.

I see her kneeling down in front of the body bag. My head starts to get painful. Alan helps me to stand . However I see everything so dizzy in front of me and I passed out.

When I wake up, I am in the hospital room. Amar? Amar was my initiate and I wasn't from Chicago. I was from Detroit. I remember what David said to me that my mom wasn't from Chicago too.

"Alan, where am I?" I ask

"You are in the hospital." Alan sighs . "You passed out."

I see the box is still on the table . I don't want tell Alan what happened to me before . My memories came back but I am happy that I chose dauntless

"I was too sad maybe . Or I am too scared ." I lower my head . "How is the necklace."

"It's still good but I am worried about you." Alan grabs my face . "Listen I will be here forever . I don't want you to suffer."

"I am fine . I am just tired ." I wrap my arm around him. "Alan if one day that you knew a big secret about me that you didn't know , will you hate me ?"

Alan kisses my forehead . He grabs my face into his hands

"No Delia , I will never hate you. I can't love you enough. However you can tell me everything that you want." Alan kisses me .

"I can't. However please trust me . One day, I will reveal that." I say. "Please trust me ."

"Okay, I will trust you. I always do." Alan says

After a few hour , we leave hospital. When we get back, Abby is sitting above the chasm.

"Should I go with him?" She cries

"No, Abby, he wants you to stay." I hug her . "I will take care of you. He is my best friend so you are my best friend as well."

The truth is . I suspect that Amar didn't die for real. I and him both fake our death in Detroit and now he has to go. Now I finally realize the reason why my mom was so calm is because she helped Amar to do it.

Can that be true also with Tori's brother . Maybe Jeanine did kill no one but all of their fake deaths were blamed on her . I have to find out.

"So why he didn't tell me before hand ." Abby screams at me . "Why!"

"Listen Abby, you have to rest." I drag her away.

I bring her to Amar's room.

"Why you bring me here ." Abby stops there

"He told me that he wanted you to have his room." I open the door . "Abby, he loves you for real."

"He wants me to have it or you are comforting me ." She raises her voice . "Are you sure ?"

I nod at her . I know Amar too well.

"He wants it." I sigh. "Please trust me ."
