I'm back!... after almost a year...

But after seeing some of the new Total Drama season, I felt inspired to go back and make a new story! This story will take place in the same timeline as my previous stories, Rankor Island and Rosewood Manor, so expect a few callbacks to those two. However while there won't be any major references to either story, there will only be one major connection to the Rosewood Manor which you'll see as you read along.

But enough beating around the bush, please let me know what you think of this story and don't be afraid to review and let me know what you all think!

"The Total Drama series has been around for quite a while..." The familiar voice of Chris McLean began as various scenes of the previous seasons began to play. "...and this show has seen quite a number of insane things in a lot of insane places. We've had misadventures in an abandoned film lot, with mutant monsters, an artificial island, weather controlling computers, and even in a haunted mansion! But none of that would have ever happened had it not been for the quirky and crazy cast of contestants we've had throughout the years! So now, after all of this craziness, we've decided to go back to our roots!"

The scene then cut to a helicopter view of a brand new island that had one large primary island in the center with a large mountain that appeared to have a patch of snow on top, a smaller mountain on the opposite side of the island that had a steep cliff going into the ocean around it. Interestingly though, there were three smaller islands surrounding the main one, one was oval-shaped covered in trees, shrubbery, and other plants. The second was somewhat similar to the first, except the beachside area was much larger and had large stones scattered around it, it was shaped like a funky-looking rhombus. The last island was larger than the other two but still not as big as the primary one, it was situated more North than the rest of the islands, as opposed to the two that were more towards the West. The island itself somewhat resembled Boney Island in it's flora and fauna, it even had the ominous mist that surrounded the island, though it lacked the iconic skull-shaped rock formation. After taking a moment to scan the islands, the helicopter view shifted over to Chris, standing at the dock of the main island with the familiar looking campsite behind him.

"That's right! We're going back to the OG campgrounds! Well... it's not Camp Wawanackwa, which the network is actually working to get out of the lake back in Muskoka, but you get the picture, hehehe. Anyway, we've got a brand new island, brand new challenges, all to be completed by a brand new cast! All of this will go down right here on Total! Drama! Glimmering Isles!"

"Welcome back to Total Drama!" Chris resumed. "Before the break I mentioned that we've got an entirely new cast for this season. This time around we've got twenty-two new suckers, er- uh-, contestants! Yeah, that's right, twenty-two contestants who will give it their all for our million dollar prize! Why don't you take a moment to meet them all!"

The sound of a massive boat's horn was heard approaching the island, though nobody appeared to be on the ship's exterior. Instead, everyone was confined to their rooms, which all looked to be rather comfortable, if a bit plain. Each all had a bed, dresser with a mirror attached, and a window to the outside. A small television was hung in the corner of the room with a small speaker connected to it.

"Attention maggots." Chef thundered out, several of the teens likely having to cover their ears from the booming volume. "We're comin' up on the island now, there's a camera in each of your rooms that's gonna turn on so introduce yourself to the viewers before we get there! That ain't a request either, so GET TO IT!"

The first room had a teenage boy with a light tan and red, shoulder-length hair. He wore a red baseball cap that had a lightning bolt on it that was turned backwards, a plain white t-shirt underneath a red jacket, blue jeans and sneakers that were primarily black with red sides and laces. He stood by the window with a deeply contemplative look in his green eyes.

[Brad - The Cold-Blooded Pragmatist]

"The name's Brad. I know how this game works, any sign of weakness gets you left behind and standing out too much can get you booted out early. I intend to play smart and pick my moves carefully. Does that sound boring? Maybe. But it's efficient and efficiency is key in a game like this. Don't like it? Too bad."

The second room housed a teenage girl with long brown hair that went down to her lower back. She had a tan long sleeved shirt with two bracelets around both of her wrists, gold colored earrings on both ears, an a silver necklace with a Star of David on it. She also had light blue jeans and tan colored sandals. Her eyes were a light hazel color and she had a beauty mark under her right eye. She paced around the room in excitement as she occasionally looked out the window at the water.

[Melissa - The World Traveler]

"Ohmygosh, ohmygosh, ohmygosh, OHMYGOSH! I can't believe I'm actually on Total Drama! I've been watching this show since the start and now I'm finally on it! Now, I'm no super fan like that girl Sierra, so I don't really know everything there is to know about Chris or Chef, or a lot of the old contestants. Not like it really matters here though, apparently this season's going to be somewhere different with a bunch of new people. But as for me, hi, I'm Melissa but all my friends call me Mipsy! I've been pretty much all over the world, from Canada, to the U.S., to Brazil, Japan, Australia, you name it and I've probably been there. Kind of a shame that this season isn't like the third and we won't be going around the world but I hope I can at least go a few rounds without getting voted off. Oh man, I'm so excited! This is gonna be a blast!"

The next contestant was another girl, though rather than the jovial attitude that Melissa appeared to have, this girl looked much more stoic as the gaze from her sharp, almond-shaped icy-blue eyes was directed solely on the waves outside. She had shoulder length dark brown hair that was almost black in color with the ends dyed a dark pinkish-purple color. She had a dark purple shirt under a black jacket, grey jeans and black sneakers with pink laces.

[Sapphire - The Knight Templar]

"My name is Sapphire and, I'll admit, I really didn't care too much about this show before but I'm here now. My parents put me and my sister up to this so that we can 'be more social' and 'loosen up', don't know where she is but I'm pretty sure I'll see her once we dock. I also don't know or care what she ends up doing on this show, but if I can win a million dollars then I'll do whatever I need to do. I don't care if everyone else hates me for it, if they mess with me or my sister then they'll suffer the consequences. Simple as that."

Next was another girl, this contestant however appeared to be much more at ease compared to Brad and Sapphire. She had blonde hair that reached her upper back, her hair seemed to pair well with her sky blue eyes, which gave off an energy of silent wonder. She wore a black t-shirt with sunflowers on them, blue shorts that reached her knees and tan sneakers. She looked out the window for a moment before looking around the room one more time. With a sigh, she laid down onto the bed and stared up at the ceiling.

[Tracy - The Girl Next Door]

"So, um, here I am, I guess. I'm Tracy, and I've seen a couple of episodes of this show but I don't really follow it all that much. My friends and brother thought it would be good for me to sign up for this show. They thought it would be cool for me to 'see the world and maybe even become famous' but I guess we'll see what happens. I don't really know how much you can really expect from some simple girl from a simple, small town. I don't really know what to expect either but who knows, maybe this'll be fun!"

Following Tracy was yet another girl. This contestant however was writing in a notebook rather fervently. She had rather poofy brown hair that reached down to her lower back. Her chocolate brown eyes were hidden behind a set of red-rimmed glasses. She wore a yellow, elbow-length blouse and brown pants with red sneakers.

[Bea - The Socially Awkward Scientist]

"Study of the island will commence upon completion of the host's introductions and explanations at the earliest convenience. Examiner must take caution not to provoke any unwanted attention or hostility from fellow competitors and- O-oh! S-s-sorry! I, um, almost forgot that I needed to introduce myself. My name is, um, B-Bea. I'm not very good around other people but I have a range of interests within the various realms of science. I... I really hope I don't end up making a fool of myself or getting on anyone's bad side too early... Hopefully the team I end up on will at least keep me around for my intellect, I suppose?"

Another boy was next, he had black hair and normally wore a dark green t-shirt with the number 78 on it, though he had taken it off and was doing pushups in the middle of the room. He also wore black jeans and green sneakers and had a green dragon tattoo on his left arm. He appeared to be counting the number of pushups he was doing to himself.

[Butch - The Hotheaded Brute]

"One ninety-eight... one ninety-nine... two hundred! Gotta get a good workout in before I wreck everyone! The name's Butch and don't you forget it! I'm gonna be the toughest dude this season and I'll dominate any physical challenge thrown my way. That guy Lightning had the right idea when he competed, and that's why he almost won when he was in. But I'm not stupid, muscle ain't everything, you gotta be smart too! But let's be honest, it's like ninety percent muscle. If anyone ends up having a problem with me being so great, they'll have to deal with ol' Righty and Lefty!"

Following Butch was another boy, however he was physically the complete opposite of the former. This boy was more heavy-set and was sitting on the bed looking rather uncomfortable. He had neatly combed light brown hair and had rather large, green colored glasses covering his hazel eyes. He wore a green sweater-vest over a white, button-down shirt with tan shorts and sneakers that were white and green.

[Algernon - The Timid Genius]

"Oh I know this season won't go well for me! Watching Total Drama at home is entertaining but actually being on it is another story completely! My friends pressured me to apply as a joke but I never once thought I would actually get in! Oh, just the thought of some of the brutes I might have to compete against, or worse, team with is making me nauseous! I suppose I should introduce myself though. Um, my name is Algernon, though my f-f-friends refer to me as 'Algie'. My hobbies include astronomy, tabletop gaming, and I am already terrified of what this season will be like!"

Next was a third boy who had a dark chocolate complexion. Like Butch, he had his shirt off, though instead of exercising he was flexing in front of the mirror. One major difference between him and Butch was that this boy was nowhere near as muscular, but still had an average build. He typically wore a white t-shirt with a black crown on it under an open grey zip-up hoodie, black jeans and purple sneakers. He also had a gold earring in his left ear. His hair was short and wavy and he had a bit of peach fuzz growing on his chin.

[Omari - The Brash Jerk]

"'Sup people, I'm Omari, the future winner of Total Drama. The season ain't even start yet but don't get it twisted, it's gonna be me standing on top! I got the looks, I got the muscle, and I got the brains to make it far! People can be mad at me for being as dope as I am but they can stay mad because ain't nobody gonna stop me! I could probably charm the pants off of any of the females here too! But at the end of the day, I'm gonna be the one who wins it all! Why? Because I am Him!"

A girl put a bouquet of roses into a fresh vase of water and set them on the windowsill of her room, a large smile on her face. She appeared to be Korean, or at least partially Korean. Her hair was a soft black color which curled around her face and her round, chocolate brown eyes gave off a friendly and warm vibe that her choice of outfit seemed to pair well with. Her clothes consisting of a pink blouse that had the sleeves rolled up to the elbows, blue jeans and pink sneakers.

[Marsha - The Pacifistic Chef]

"I'm excited to be here! As much as I love it, it's nice to be out of the kitchen for a change. Meeting new people and exploring new things is just so nice! I know that sounds really generic and kind of boring but isn't that how a lot of people would feel about traveling? Well... I am about to compete for a million dollars on a reality show with a narcissistic and possibly psychopathic host, but I'm sure things will turn out alright! I know Total Drama can be a wildly unpredictable show so maybe I can find something about it that I can enjoy. Maybe even, you know, finding a really nice girlfriend! That would be nice! Heehee..."

The next contestant was practically bouncing around the room with excitement. Like Amy and Samey before her, she appeared to be a cheerleader as she jumped around with a set of yellow pom-poms. She also wore an orange cheerleader uniform underneath a yellow hoodie with a rabbit logo on it. She also wore orange sneakers with little lightning bolts on the sides. With one last jump into the air, the girl did a midair back-flip and landed with a forward split.

[Jennifer - The Cheerful Cheerleader]

"OH! MY! JEEBUS! I am actually here on Total Drama AAAAAHHHHH! Okay, okay, so my name is Jennifer or Jenny for short. As you can see I'm a cheerleader for my school, and I'm here to kick butt!

MHS I represent! I won't hold back, I won't relent!~

Haha, sorry! Couldn't resist letting out a cheer! But this is just such a cool opportunity! I mean I wasn't exactly expecting to actually be on this show, but I'll do what I can to help out my team as much as I can! Who knows, maybe I'll actually win!"

The boy in the next room appeared to be keeping to himself as he sat patiently on his bed, looking out the window and tapping his foot as he awaited the announcement of the boat docking. His hair was dark brown and curly to the point it almost looked like an afro, though it was partially covered by a yarmulke. He wore a neatly pressed brown polo shirt, grey jeans and casual brown shoes. His eyes conveyed an unreadable look that appeared to have a mix of boredom, indifference, and yet a mix of contempt within them as they strangely accentuated his sharp nose which almost made his face resemble that of a hawk.

[Isaiah - The Enigmatic Every-man]

"My name is Isaiah. I am currently studying to be a banker, just like my father. I don't exactly know what to expect on a show like this, but having the million dollar prize would be a very good step for me on my way to bettering myself. I haven't met the other contestants yet so I'm not sure what to make of them, but I do know that Chris McLean is a ruthless and cruel man. This season will be long and difficult but I'm confident that I'll do well. Har helf mir ven ikh handlen mit di idyotn."

The sounds of a strumming guitar emanated from the room of the next contestant. He was a young man with short brown hair underneath a navy blue baseball cap with the NY on them. He also had a grey button-down shirt with long sleeves and navy blue jeans on with black/white sneakers. His soft brown eyes looked excited once he finished tuning his instrument and playing a few notes. As he finished he looked over at a flock of seagulls flying outside the ship.

[Johan - The Snarky Guitarist]

"Well, here I am, I guess. The name's Johan. Doubt a lot of you actually remember but I did appear in an episode of the season my ex-girlfriend Tina was in. She thankfully didn't win but I don't want to start thinking of her again. Now I'm here actually competing so I figure I'll make the most of it. This show usually attracts some oddballs and I guess being here proves that I'm one of them. But I guess we'll see what happens in the game itself and the story of the melody that comes with it."

Another boy was next, like Algernon he was a bit on the heavier side. He looked to be mixed race as he had a light brown skin tone and hazel eyes. His hair was short and somewhat curly as he tried fixing it up as best as he could in the mirror before looking proudly at himself and opening the window in excitement. He wore a light blue t-shirt that had the words 'I Am Phenomenal' on the front and a circular symbol with 'A1' on the back, black jean shorts reaching his knees and purple sneakers.

[Earnest - The Friendly Fan-Boy]

"Wow, I'm actually going to compete on Total Drama! I'm so pumped, man! I'm kinda like Sierra in that I know a lot about this show but I hope I don't bother Chris with trivia, he's probably the last guy I want to tick off aside from Chef. This isn't the only show I know a lot about though, I know a lot of things about other shows, and comics, movies, video games. I'm basically a walking encyclopedia when it comes to the little things. I don't know how much it'll help with challenges but I'll do my best!"

Breaking the chain of the boys was another female contestant, she was visibly shorter than the rest and looked a bit slimmer as well. Her hair was a rather unkempt dark brown that almost looked black, which sprawled its way down past her shoulders. Her hazel eyes looked somewhat tired and bored as she stared out of the window into the ocean. She wore a long sleeved grey shirt, black pants and olive green sneakers.

[Linnea - The Mordant Urchin]

"Okay, so my name's Linnea, but please just call me Lin. My dad made me sign up for this show because he's 'worried about me not meeting good people' despite the fact that this show attracts some of the biggest weirdos and freaks. It beats dealing with my stepmom though, so there's that. You're also probably thinking that a five-foot nothing little girl like me is probably not going to last long, but looks can be deceiving. Do I really care about winning? Not really. But the longer I stay here means more time away from that evil witch of a woman, so I'll take it."

Another young woman was up next and she was almost the complete inverse of Lin in terms of height as she was among the tallest of the contestants. She sat comfortably by the window reading a book, brushing a lock of her red hair away from her face. Her hair itself reached her lower back and paired well with her olive green pants. She also wore a silver sleeveless shirt and black boots. Her green eyes were entirely focused on the book she was reading and she appeared to have a bag near her completely filled with more of them.

[Tatiana - The Iron-Hearted Bookworm]

"Well I guess I should get ready to meet a psycho face-to-face. I wish I could say I'm ready for what I'll be up against but I don't even know what that will be. Most of the people I'll be up against will either fit into the categories of 'Muscle-Headed Freaks', 'Social Rejects', 'Complete Psychos', or 'All of the Above'. Don't know where I'll end up, both in terms of the game and within those aforementioned groups but this will be a hell of a story once this show's over. I should probably take some notes and write a book about it now that I say this."

The young man that was next just barely stood over Tatiana in terms of height and his demeanor was somewhat similar. He wore a solid grey t-shirt and camo jeans with brown boots as he stood at attention and looked out of his rooms' window. The boy's hair was a neatly cut dark brown and his brown eyes had a look of stern focus and determination in them.

[Walter - The Stoic Soldier]

"My name is Walter and I intend to give everything I have to winning this game. My fellow soldier in training, Brick, competed in an earlier season and was unsuccessful in his attempt to win. I don't blame him however, the circumstances of his loss were noble and he has been trying to better himself since then. As for myself, I have no intention of losing. If it means whipping my team into shape, I will do it. My team will need a strong leader in order to succeed, and I intend to be that leader!"

The next contestant had turned the lights off in her room, allowing the only sources of light to be the sunlight creeping in from outside and a candle that she had lit that appeared to have additional matches added in order to raise the strength of the flame. Her hair was dyed red and tied into two pigtails which contrasted with her blue eyes. She wore a black tank top under a red leather jacket, dark grey jeans and red sneakers.

[Charlene - The Firebug]

"There's just something about fire that just... catches my attention. It always has, and I guess it always will. It dances and moves around like it's alive, and the sounds of the the fuel that keeps it alive almost sounds like... never mind... Anyway, the name's Charlene. My sister and I signed up for this show because our parents thought it would be good for us. I'd say its more for me because of my addiction to fire but my sister definitely has issues that she needs to sort out too. Can I be helped? Not sure, but I doubt it."

The next contestant was checking on his gelled brown hair in the mirror. Like Omari before him he was admiring himself and his perfect olive skin tone. As he ran a hand through it one more time he winked and gave himself finger guns as he seemed pleased with his blue t-shirt with white lightning on it, grey jeans and white sneakers. He made sure there was nothing in his sky blue eyes and seemed even more pleased that they were clear before smiling confidently.

[Frank - The Omega, in his Head]

"What's up people, I'm Frank, Total Drama's next ace! These guys won't know what hit them when I run right through them on my way to super stardom! I have the looks, talent, charisma, and strength! Doesn't matter what the others try to do because there's no way they'll be able to stop me! Wanna know why? It's because I'm Frank, the Omega Male!"

The contestant in the next room was... interesting to say the least. A girl with her hair dyed to resemble a rainbow used a set of plungers to hang from the ceiling and "walk" along it, the pigtails she had flopped helplessly as she moved. She wore a tan blouse and black pants with red boots. Empty ketchup and mustard bottles littered the floor with their contents splattered all over the walls, some of the ketchup was spread on the window and mirror in a manner that resembled hand prints. Stuck to the mirror was a mannequin's arm, the hand of which was detached and clasped around the girl's neck.

[Terra - The Meme Machine]

"I'm being strangled by the Man in the Mirror~! Hehehe! Hihi! I'm Terra and I'm here to be the ray of sunshine that this show needs! If you thought Izzy was crazy then you ain't seen anything yet! I'm here to kick gum and chew ass, and I'm all out of ass! A wise man by the name of Dick Kickem said that!"

The next contestant was another girl who looked over at the previous room in concern when she heard banging and what sounded like various animal noises coming from it. She was about the same height as Lin, but her demeanor was much different. She was laying down on the bed with a notebook in her hands as she wrote down onto it with a calm smile on her face. Her hair was a curly orange color that paired well with her green eyes. She wore a yellow shirt with an orange flower on it under a blue hoodie, blue jeans and blue sneakers.

[Ginger - The Curious Blogger]

"Okay so I'm scared of what's going on in that other room and I hope I don't end up on the same team as whoever's in there. Anyway, my name's Ginger, I actually plan on writing a blog about my time here and I guess this is where I can begin planning it. I hope I can get along with everyone, but I haven't really met the others yet so I'll have to wait and see what they're like. But even though Total Drama is this really tough reality show, I think my time here will be fun!"

Like so many of the other contestants, the second to last contestant observed the ocean from the window. This young man however had an air of confidence around him as he appeared to be the same height as Walter before him. His skin was tanned and he had tribal tattoos along his arm. His jet black hair was long and went down to his shoulders. His dark brown eyes gave off an unreadable expression before he looked down at his dark grey shirt and dusted it off, allowing the pitbull logo on it to become visible. He also wore black jeans with a black belt and white sneakers with black accents. As he noticed the island coming into view, he exhaled deeply and cracked his knuckles.

[Joseph - The Tribal Chief]

"My name is Joseph, you can call me Joe if you want, as long as you say my name with respect. I came to this show to do one thing: win. I'll take my team and carry them to the end if I need to, and I don't care if people have a problem with that. I'm not here to make friends, and if anyone wants to step up to me then I will make them suffer. There won't be any second chances, there won't be any excuses. If you can't keep up, if you don't put in the work, you're gonna get smashed! I'm going to be the one left standing when this is all over, believe that!"

The last contestant was another boy who was stretching in his room before doing a backflip and nailing the landing perfectly. He had tanned skin and long brown hair with a bit of peach fuzz settling in. He had a grey t-shirt with 3 black stars in a splattered paint design on it, blue jeans with a white belt and purple sneakers. Like Joseph before him, he noticed that the island was coming into view and pumped his fist in excitement.

[Ali - The Optimistic Acrobat]

"Ah man I'm so pumped to be here on Total Drama! Last season was totally crazy, who knew we'd get to see an actual haunted mansion! I heard this season won't have any gimmicks or weird things like that which is a bummer but I can live with it. I'm in my school's track and field team so I'm in peak physical form, couple that with some top tier parkour skills and you've got yourself an ace athlete on your hands! Whatever team I end up on should have a strong player. I can't count out the others though, there could be some really tough players. I guess we'll see, right?"

With another honk of its horn, the boat pulled up to the dock, allowing Chef to exit and meet Chris at the dock. Chef Hatchet himself looked a bit different as well, forgoing his usual cooking outfit for a purple dress shirt with a red tie, tan slacks and brown loafers.

"Perfect timing Chef, like the outfit too!"

"Really? Had these threads made in between seasons, I think they suit me!"

"I mean it's kinda weird seeing you in something new, but I dig it. You gotta let me know your tailor later. For now let's see the fresh meat." Chris replied. Chef chuckled maliciously as he pulled out a megaphone.

"MAGGOTS, FRONT AND CENTER NOW!"

The teens all exited the boat with varying levels of speed and enthusiasm as they approached Chris. Some contestants, such as Jenny and Ali looked at the campgrounds in awe, others like Joseph and Sapphire watched Chris and Chef in anticipation and Terra just giggled to herself.

"Welcome, everyone, to the Glimmering Isles, a set of islands off the coast of Western Europe where you will spend the next couple of weeks competing for Total Drama's grand prize of one. Million. Dollars!" Chris began.

"Save the spiel, McLean!" Frank scoffed. "Let's just get this started so I can win the money!"

"You? Win the million?! Nah bro, it's gonna be me!" Omari replied, the two began to glare daggers at each other as they both looked ready to start fighting immediately. Joseph, Walter and Brad watched with looks of disappointment while Lin, Tatiana and Sapphire almost looked like they expected this to happen. Chris thankfully stepped in before things started getting serious.

"Alright, alright! As much as I love watching immediate drama unfold, can you guys wait until I finish introducing you guys to the camp?"

The two fighters glared at each other before begrudgingly walking away from each other with Frank grumbling to himself.

"As I was saying." Chris continued. "Welcome to the Glimmering Isles! For this season we've decided to bring this game back to its roots and have you all stay in a summer camp for this season. Follow me and I'll show you to your cabins."

Just like Camp Wawanackwa, the camp consisted of two cabins that looked almost identical to those of the original camp.

"As you can see, we've taken the liberty of making sure this camp was just like the one in Canada. Just to really give everyone that's seen this show a nice sense of nostalgia."

"These are the exact same cabins aren't they..." Tatiana remarked.

"Yup! Just as the previous seasons the boys of one team will take one side of the cabin and the girls take the other. BUT, for the team selection process we're randomizing everything and the process isn't quite done yet. We'll have the teams finalized by dinner so for today there won't be any challenge or elimination. You're free to take some time to socialize with your fellow campers and explore the island as you see fit once this tour is over." Chris explained.

"Uh, Chris?" Ginger asked, politely raising her hand. "Since this season is at a summer camp does that mean the confessional-"

"Is in an outhouse? You betcha!"

The collective discomfort from the majority of the teens only increased as some of them audibly groaned or gagged in disgust.

"Hahaha, you guys can voice your displeasure in the confessional later! For now, let's head over to the campfire."

The campfire looked more or less the same as it did in the first season with the same decorations and torches, just as the first season the campfire was close to the docks. Algernon gulped in fear as he saw the yacht that brought everyone in sailing away from the island.

"I'm sure you all either know what happens here but for those who might not, it's simple. If your team loses a challenge, they'll head here and vote on which contestant you want to eliminate from the competition. Whoever has the most votes will be voted out and will make their way down to the Dock of Shame."

"Where they'll go through this season's humiliating exit. What are we using this time; a kickboard? Or are we reusing one of the old ones like the cannon or toilet?" Lin commented.

"What is with you kids, can't you just let me finish?!" Chris fumed. "But if you must know, the answer is none of those. When I say we're bringing this show back to its roots, we're doing just that and bringing back the Boat of Losers."

"So no gimmick with the island, no gimmick with the elimination exit, what's the catch here McLean?" Joseph asked.

"There is none." Chris assured. "I was feeling nostalgic and wanted to just have a normal season, especially after the last one. There's only one major difference that Chef and I wanted to include though, and that's one that's been around for quite a while."

Chris then brought out two familiar statues, one resembling his head and the other resembling Chef.

"This statue based on myself is the McLean Invincibility Statue, patent still pending. Whoever finds this statue will have the chance to save themselves from elimination, meaning whoever has the second highest amount of eliminations will be voted off in their place. The one based on Chef however is known as the Chef Hatchet Elimination Statue, and as the name implies, allows whoever uses it to completely nullify all votes except their own, meaning they can eliminate anyone of their choosing. Both of these statues can only be used once and only at campfire ceremonies. The statues will be hidden somewhere on the island and you'll have to find it on your own during a challenge or on your own time. However, due to the fact that there are multiple islands that will be used this season, I can promise you all that we won't hide either statue on any of those islands during free time. They could be on one of the other islands during challenges that take place there, but otherwise they will only be on this main island. Any questions?"

With a response of silence or affirmative nods, Chris flashed the contestants his iconic smile.

"Great, this marks the end of the basic introduction to the game! You're all free to get yourselves settled in and mingle with each other. Feel free to share any thoughts and opinions you may have in the confessionals and meet Chef and I in the mess halls for dinner in... three hours. By then we should have the teams all formed and you should be all acquainted with each other. See you all then!"

As Chris walked away, the teens all looked over at each other in an awkward silence for a moment.

"So, we have three hours all to ourselves." Lin stated before walking away. "See ya'."

"Where are you going?" Ginger asked.

"I'm gonna check out the island, I'll be around somewhere if you need me. ... Don't need me."

As Lin wandered off, Charlene sat down on one of the wooden logs used for the campfire ceremonies with Sapphire joining her.

"So, what do you think of everything so far, Sis?" Charlene asked, her eyes wandering around and observing some of the other contestants. Sapphire pursed her lips as she also glossed over the competition, some casual conversations had begun but with this being the first time the majority of the cast had ever met each other, it all really amounted to awkward small talk.

"We have two idiots and a loner street rat, other than that it's too soon to really know."

*confessionals*

Lin: "Yeah I'm not exactly a people person. Does it make me look good to my future team? Probably not, but they're just going to have to live with it. I'll pull my weight for the team but I'm not really into the whole 'friendship' thing. You never know who can stab you in the back, especially in a game like this."

Sapphire: "I can take care of myself here but I'm more concerned over the well-being of my sister. Some things have happened to both of us that we'd rather forget but I don't have to go into detail about that. That isn't your business."

Frank: "Hmph, what's that loser's name? Omari? The guy thinks he's gonna win? Nah, bro, it's not going down like that!"

Charlene: So, three hours all to ourselves... I'm starting to think that Lin girl had the right idea..."

Omari: "That fool Frankie really thinks he's got this. Man I'll knock him out!"

*end confessionals*

Tatiana sat down on one of the other logs and began to read silently to herself for a moment before someone approached her.

"Hey, you like Edgar Allan Poe, too?"

With a slight twitch of her eyebrow, the Bookworm looked up from her book and saw Ginger giving her a warm smile. With a silent sigh, Tatiana lowered her book and tried putting on a polite face.

"Yes, I think he's one of the most influential writers to have ever lived."

"Oooh, which of his stories would you consider a favorite?"

"Before I tell you my favorite, can you name at least five of his works that do not include 'The Tell-Tale Heart'?" Tatiana asked, dropping her politeness and now giving the girl an annoyed glare.

"Oh, um, sure. There's 'The Black Cat', 'The Cask of Amontillado', 'The Gold-Bug', 'Hop-Frog', and 'Ligeia'."

"Wow, I didn't think you'd actually be able to pull that off. To answer your question I'd have to say that my favorite of his works is 'The Raven'. A bit of a generic choice but it's a good poem."

"Hehe, well I'm definitely not as much of a reader as you seem to be but I know a few of the classics. And that's such a classic story! I definitely see why you'd call it a favorite!"

The Bookworm dropped her hostility and actually returned the smile that Ginger had given her.

"Um, hi..."

The attention of the two redheads shifted over to Tracy, who looked rather nervous.

"Hi! Are you a fan of Poe as well?"

"W-Well I'm actually not that much of a reader. To be honest I kind of just went over to you to because I was afraid of just standing around by myself like a weirdo." Tracy admitted, blushing in embarrassment.

"Hah, don't worry about it, I'm sure a lot of us are nervous." Ginger assured.

"I respect the fact that you were honest about why you spoke to us." Tatiana added. "Look, if you want to try reading something new then I'm willing to show you a few authors you might like. Their works are simple, but entertaining."

"Woah, thanks!" The small town girl smiled.

"Excuse me, ladies!" Earnest interjected. "I couldn't help but overhear you talking about Edgar Allan Poe, I'm a fan of his work, too! I also read the works of other authors similar to him like H.P Lovecraft and Stephen King!"

"That so?" Tatiana asked, offering the boy a seat which he eagerly took as the four began to chat.

*confessionals*

Ginger: "Tatiana's actually pretty nice. I kind of figured she'd be more of the type to keep to herself and I still think she is but I think we'll be good friends. Tracy too! The four of us actually ended up hitting it off pretty well and I hope we end up on the same team! Oh man this is going to be really good for my blog!"

Tracy: "I can't believe that actually worked. Some of the other girls look pretty intimidating, like the two that just sat together and didn't talk to anyone or the other girl that just went off on her own. I really hope I don't end up on their bad sides but I think if I stick by Tatiana and Ginger I should be alright."

Earnest: "To be honest, I like stuff like comics more than the deeper stuff that Tatiana seems to be into but like a lot of other things, I know and can appreciate the quality of those works!"

Tatiana: "I prefer the company of books but that doesn't mean I dislike people. Although it's clear that girls like Tracy need a bit of a push in terms of talking to people. That other girl with the poofy hair, I think her name's Bea, all three of us noticed her kind of off to the side and looking a bit nervous before she went over to the cabins. Ginger will probably reach out to her and she seems like a smart girl, but if she's going to be that shy this whole time then I don't see her lasting long."

*end confessionals*

Joseph watched as more of the campers began talking to one another, the young man sitting back and keeping to himself. Nothing in particular really caught his eye until he caught sight of Algernon shuffling away from everyone, or at least he tried to until Butch walked over to him with a grin that rattled the nerdy boy to his very core.

"Hey, Creampuff, where ya' running off to? Don't wanna hang around and chat?" Algie was practically shivering as he was too scared to respond as the two locked eyes. "What? You scared? Pfft, you're not gonna last long if that's the case!"

With a furrow of his brow, Joseph began to walk over to the two but was surprisingly beaten to the metaphorical punch by, of all people, Sapphire!

"Hey, jackass, leave him alone." She spat. Butch raised an eyebrow in confusion as he looked at the young woman for a moment before switching his gaze back to Algernon and then Sapphire again.

"What? You thought I was gonna bully this kid or something? Hah! Nahhh. But I don't appreciate your tone." Butch replied, his demeanor now becoming more serious. "Here's a fair warning for you, stay out of my way or I'll send you packing in no time flat."

With a confident huff, Butch stormed off in the direction of the cabins and left Sapphire and Algernon alone, the latter looked at the Knight Templar as if she were a literal knight in shining armor as Sapphire herself gave Algie a genuine smile.

"Let me know if he ever bothers you again, I'll handle it."

As Sapphire walked back over to her sister, Bea, Marsha and Ali went to check on Algie as Walter approached Joseph.

"I noticed that you almost stepped in." The soldier inquired.

"Yeah. Let's just say I'm not a fan of bullying, I've been there." Joseph replied, his voice low.

"You? A Pacific Islander who looks like he plays football? You don't look like the type of person who gets picked on."

Joseph couldn't help but chuckle, both at what Walter said and upon noticing his European accent.

"Yeah, well, I wasn't always built like this. Sometimes you just have to force things to change, and to do that you have to change yourself." Joseph replied, Walter nodded in understanding as he also laughed ever so slightly. "Where's your family from by the way, Germany?"

"Austria, and I can certainly understand what you mean. I may not look it, but I was once much heavier than I am now. Only a strict training regiment with solid discipline changed me into who I am today."

Joseph couldn't help but laugh as he offered his hand to Walter, which the young soldier happily shook.

"I think you'll be fun to go up against!"

As the two large boys conversed, Algie and the others who went to talk to him managed to calm the intelligent teen down somewhat.

"Man there's certainly some colorful people here." Ali sighed. "You sure you doin' alright Al? You don't mind me calling you Al, right?"

"N-No, I don't mind." Algernon assured. "I'm not like Alejandro, but feel free to call me Algie as well. We shouldn't really be surprised that this happened, especially so soon. Remember how Duncan treated Harold during the first few seasons? I expect something similar here."

"Maybe not, if someone like Sapphire is willing to watch your back, then I think you'll be okay." Marsha assured before sighing ever so slightly, a light blush on her face. "Having someone as confident and beautiful as her protecting you, it's really sweet."

"Yeah..." Algie agreed, a blush growing in his face as well.

"Seems like both of you have your eyes on her!" Ali laughed.

"Hehe, I suppose so!" Marsha agreed, lightly punching Algernon on his arm. "I suppose that makes us rivals in romance, doesn't it!"

"U-Um, y-y-yeah, I guess so..." Algie replied as he twiddled his thumbs. Bea couldn't help but sigh as well but for a different reason.

"I... I wish I could be that confident." She bemoaned. "But I-I'm just not good around people. It's a pain to have developed this social anxiety!"

"Don't feel too bad about it. we've got plenty of time for you to come out of your shell!" Ali assured. Sapphire had sat down next to her sister for the past few moment but the two remained silent for a while before Charlene finally said something.

"What made you step in like that?"

"I... think he's kind of cute." Sapphire replied, averting the surprised look her sister was giving her.

*confessionals*

Butch: "I wasn't gonna do anything to the guy! I'm definitely not scared of that Sapphire chick either, I just thought Algie might need some toughening up!"

Algernon: "I'm... still quite nervous about what this season will hold for me. Brutes like Butch will most certainly give me a hard time and I'm worried that those two giants, Walter and Joseph, will be just as bad. But I'm glad I actually managed to make friends so quickly! Ali seems like a very nice person, as is Marsha, though it appears that we may be 'romance rivals' as she said which I find rather humorous. Bea is a bit shy but after talking with her I've come to understand that she's very intelligent, so it's nice to have someone I can converse with about much more complex subjects. I wonder if she's a fan of 'Caverns and Cryptids'? Lastly there's... S-Sapphire... She's... like the finest dragon maiden in all of Eragonia!"

Joseph: "Going against Walter's gonna be a challenge that I am happy to take on. The dude's gonna be a very solid competitor for sure and if we're on the same team I don't think anyone's taking us down. Algernon might end up being a good ally and a solid rival too. He's a doughboy but I can tell he's smart and crafty when he needs to be. Even if he's not on my team I think I'll look out for him too... If he puts in some work for me, that is."

Walter: "Competition may be much stiffer than I first thought if I have competition like Joseph and Sapphire. If I keep my resolve and push forward then I am positive that I will go far!"

Ali: Not even a day on the island and we've already seen a fair bit of action! Kinda makes me both nervous and excited for what's gonna come later but as long as my new friends and I stick together, I think it'll go great!"

Bea: "I didn't think I'd make so many new acquaintances so quickly! Now to make a note to myself that I need to learn how to not accidentally ruin this newfound friendship."

Marsha: "Okay so I was only kind of joking when I said that I'd be competing with Algie over Sapphire. I mean she's genuinely pretty but I hardly know her and she might not even swing that way. Couldn't hurt to at least seeing if she does though, maybe I could bake her a cupcake or something as a way to talk to her."

Sapphire: "What can I say, I like nerdy guys. Judge me all you want, I couldn't care less."

*end confessionals*

As Johan sat down a fair distance away from the sisters and Tatiana, he played a few basic notes on his guitar before Jenny hurried over to him with an eager look on her face.

"You play guitar? Oh, play something, play something!" She squealed.

"Woah, easy now." The guitarist laughed. "Is there anything specific you want me to play?"

"Play Wonderwall." Brad said flatly as he approached the two, Jenny shook her head while retaining a sweet smile, being perfectly content with anything.

"Ah, a fan of Oasis I see." Johan commented.

"Actually I was making a joke." Brad admitted. "I guess I should have clarified that. I'm not really good at making jokes if you couldn't tell."

"No shame in that!" Terra proclaimed as she cartwheeled over to the three teens, stopping a few feet away before closing the distance by walking on her hands. "'Tis I, Terra, Lord of the Looney, who shall joke enough for both of us! Anyway, here's Wonderwall!"

Unsure of how to really respond to that and with no other choice, Johan began to play the first few notes of the song. From a fair bit away from everyone, Isaiah leaned back against a tree as he watched the others, a blank look of boredom on his face. Everyone seemed to be talking to someone or doing something and while he was content to be by himself for the time being, the only other person not talking to someone seemed to have other plans.

"Hi!" Mipsy greeted, giving Isaiah a friendly wave.

"Good afternoon." Isaiah replied.

"So, um, what do you think of everyone so far?"

"Well we have at least three competitors that could be considered problematic at the very least. Otherwise I don't really have an opinion on the others, at least not yet."

"I see. I guess I agree, it's honestly kind of weird to be the only one not talking to someone. At least before I started talking to you, I mean! But at the same time it's kind of funny, too, I've been all over the world so you'd expect me to be a social butterfly and really stand out but here I kind of just blend in. Does that make any sense?" Melissa explained. Isaiah just nodded, not really interesting in talking until he spotted Mipsy's necklace.

"You're Jewish, as well?"

"Hm? Oh, yeah, I am! That's kind of why I approached you, I noticed you're wearing a yarmulke so I figured we could at least relate to each other that way."

With a smile growing on his face, Isaiah started to pay a bit more attention as the two talked a bit more.

*confessionals*

Johan: "I figured playing a few notes would either get someone to talk to me. Playing an instrument can be a good conversation starter after all. Didn't think a cute girl like Jenny would be the first person to approach me though. Can't complain though, it was nice to actually play for people who can appreciate music too. I know I'll be competing against these people but for now, I'll bask in this peace."

Jenny: "We've got musicians, brawlers, loners, geniuses, bookworms, and me! It's just like high school! Only with a money on the line."

Brad: "I don't care much for making friends on this show, but I can at least talk to the others and be civil with them. I'm not some sort of sociopath after all."

Terra: "Do you think Johan could play Through the Fire and the Flames if I asked him?"

Melissa: "Okay so I actually converted to Judaism fairly recently. I'm actually from Brazil and I'm still learning about the religion so maybe Isaiah can teach me a few things. I just hope I don't accidentally offend him, but he seems nice so I don't think that'll happen and if it does I think he'll understand if we talk it out."

Isaiah: "Ah, it's good to know I can talk to someone about our mutual faith, Melissa looks like she speaks either Arabic or Yiddish, like myself. We could potentially use that as an advantage. I can already tell that she and I will go far in this game, it's only natural for us after all!"

*end confessionals*

From within the forest of the island, Lin walked around on her own, taking in the sights and sounds of the island as she found a fallen tree before her. After looking around the tree for a moment, Lin found a branch that was about as thick as her arm and broke it off before sitting down on the trunk and pulling out a pocket knife and whittling away at it.

*confessional*

Lin: "Whittling is something I've started to get into, I'm not really all that good at it yet but, you know, baby steps. Might as well do something if I'm gonna be away from the others."

*end confessional*

As time began to pass, the sun began to set on the island, cooling the island down more than some of the contestants expected. Ali walked alongside Lin, who silently rejoined the group without anyone really saying much.

"Did you enjoy your walk?" He asked, to which Lin simply shrugged.

"Ugh, wearing a skirt like this was a mistake!" Jenny grumbled. Wordlessly, Charlene took out a lighter and brought it near Jenny.

"It's not much, but fire always helps. Always." She stated, getting the cheerleader to laugh a bit.

"Don't worry, the mess hall will probably be warmer, plus a warm meal will help, too. Even if Chef is cooking." Johan added.

"What do you think Chef's cooking up anyway?" Ali asked.

"Probably fake vomit so we can make our own real vomit!" Terra chimed in.

"We're about to eat, don't kill our appetites already." Tatiana warned. As they all entered the mess hall the teens could all see Chef in the kitchen, back in his well known apron and cooking clothes. Two tables composed of the dining area with one on the left and the other on the right, with the second table having two girls seated by it. There was something much more surprising however, especially to Johan who's eyes went wide when he spotted one of the two girls sitting down. The first, and the girl Johan was surprised to see, had caramel skin and long brown hair that reached her lower back. Her eyes matched her skin tone and she had a beauty mark on her left cheek. She wore a light blue sweater and blue jeans with light blue sneakers. She had a rather curvaceous figure, especially around her hips and bottom.

The second girl was familiar to some of the contestants despite them never meeting her before. She had on a white wife beater underneath an unzipped leather jacket with black pants and black combat boots. Her hair was black and a bit messy which seemed to strangely pair well with her skin, which was pale for the most part except for her face, which was red with anger. Her hazel eyes had an aura of pure hatred as she looked off into the distance before both girls noticed the contestants.

"Carmen?!" Johan asked in shock, looking right at the tan girl. "What are you doing here?!"

"Jojo! Good to see you! I applied for the show but they already had all the positions filled. But when they found out that my darling cousin was on the show, they signed me up as an intern!" Carmen explained, walking up to Johan and pinching his cheek, much to her cousin's chagrin.

"That's right!" Chris explained as he entered the mess hall, brushing past some of the teens and finally getting the pale intern's attention.

"There you are, you bastard! Why the hell did you drag me here?!" She shouted.

"Well, aside from the fact that you're under contract as an intern, you did say yourself that you didn't mind coming back for another season!" Chris answered, giving the girl a smug grin.

"I meant after a year, or something! Not literally ten days after the last season ended!"

"Hey, like I said, contracts!" Chris laughed. "Anyway, welcome to the mess hall, campers! You'll be eating your brekky, lunch, and dinner here every day, made by the loving hands of Chef Hatchet and our two interns for this season. She kind of already introduced herself, but this is Carmen. She's Johan's cousin, but don't get the wrong idea, if she even thinks of trying to help him in challenges in any way, she'll be fired and he'll get disqualified immediately!"

The warning prompted Carmen to give an exaggerated sweet and innocent smile as she gently patted her cousin's cheek and hurried away from him. Omari, Frank and surprisingly Joseph watched her as she went sat back down next to her fellow intern.

"Our other ray of sunshine that we call an intern is Chelsea, who served as an intern for most of the previous season after she herself was a contestant. Both are here to serve as helpers, obstacles, and my assistants for this season! But let's get down to business. It's time to announce the teams! Before we get any complaints, I want to let everyone know that we randomly decided who is on which team!"

*confessionals*

Omari: "Damn did you see the ass on that girl Carmen?! Gahdamn!

Frank: "Okay, I definitely have to get that girl's number!"

Joseph: "I try to avoid distracting myself with girls but I can't lie; that Carmen girl is something else!"

Algernon: "Oh man, this is it! I suppose having someone strong on my team would be beneficial but if I get Butch on my team, I don't know how I'll survive! Especially since there's a very decent chance my new friends won't be there to help me!"

Johan: "Alright, so I'm not unhappy to see my cousin here and it's not that we don't get along. She's more or less the only member of my immediate family that's around my age and even though we're cousins, we basically act like brother and sister. I guess i just don't want her giving me a hard time here, around a bunch of people I just met and will have to basically live with for the next couple of weeks. Plus we could both get in trouble if Chris thinks she's helping me cheat in the game! Hopefully that'll keep her under control."

Marsha: "Okay... I know this sounds kind of bad since I already said Sapphire was cute, but Chelsea's really pretty too!"

Brad: "I doubt I'll have a chance to actually use Chris' warning to Johan and Carmen to my advantage, but I might have to consider it as an option."

Butch: "Most of the guys are probably going gaga over Johan's cousin but that Chelsea girl looks way hotter if you ask me!"

Carmen: "I might joke around with my cousin, but I know when to back off, so I'll avoid him during challenges. BUT, Chris didn't say I couldn't talk to him outside of challenges so long as we talk in the open about something that does not involve challenges or anything else related to the game. That's perfectly fine because aside from messing with him a bit, I have one goal for this season and that's to find Johan a nice girlfriend! He doesn't exactly have bad luck with finding a date, he just has bad luck with finding a good girl to date!"

Chelsea: "I barely even got to relax in my own house! Does my family even know I'm here?! Is this Chris' revenge for me and Chef pranking him last season?! Ughhhhh, I hate him! ... Okay, okay, I'm good! If it's any consolation, me being an intern means I still get paid. Plus Chef is still here so i have someone to talk to and that other girl seems alright. Aside from Chris this might not be so bad."

Chris: "Hehehe, we actually had the teams decided before the cast got to the island. The wait was for Chelsea to arrive and have her unpack. Did you see how mad she was?! Priceless!"

*end confessionals*

"Alright." Chris began as Chelsea and Carmen pushed a rather large box from out of the kitchen. "If I call your name, head over to the table on the left:

Ali

Bea

Brad

Butch

Earnest

Ginger

Isaiah

Marsha

Melissa

Tatiana

and Tracy."

Once all eleven teens headed over to their table, Chelsea tossed Butch a deep red cloth which he easily caught as he winked at the intern. Chelsea simply blinked and looked back at the boy with her eyes wide, not entirely sure how to respond. Butch unfurled the cloth to reveal an icon of a raven swooping down.

"From now on, your team will be known as the Ruby Ravens!" Chris announced. Most of the team seemed to like the sound of the team name as they cheered. Brad remained silent but smirked as he seemed to like the color, Tatiana smiled at the sight of the Raven while both Isaiah and Brad shrugged.

"As for the rest of you:

Algernon

Charlene

Frank

Jenny

Johan

Joseph

Lin

Omari

Sapphire

Terra

and Walter."

The remaining contestants headed over to the other table where Carmen handed Joseph their team's cloth, which was colored a deep green and revealed an Eagle soaring upwards.

"Your team is the Emerald Eagles!"

"Hmph, a cool and strong animal!" Joseph commented.

"A patriotic choice as well!" Walter added, Terra looked at it in silence as the others appeared to either approve or were indifferent of the team name until the rainbow-haired contestant finally spoke.

"GOLD TEAM RULES!"

*confessionals*

Ali: "Okay, I think my team's pretty solid! Butch might be hard to work with but he and I might be the muscle for our team. Bea is definitely the brains, so long as she doesn't lose her nerve, and as for everyone else, I'll have to see what they can do. Let's rock this game!"

Brad: "So after looking at the rest of the contestants, my team has a bit of a disadvantage when it comes to overall power since the other team has both Joseph and Walter. Butch is strong but he isn't really going to be much when compared to a Linebacker and a soldier. I overheard Ali mention he's acrobatic which is something but it's going to take a lot more than that to win in more physically based challenges. But that's where the more mentally strong players like myself come in. Bea's also intelligent but she lacks the social nerve to really make an impact, at least right now. This won't be easy, but life itself isn't easy."

Butch: "Hmph, looks like I'm gonna have to carry this team of wimps on my back until the merge. But going up against those two big guys is gonna be fun!"

Ginger: "I really like my team to be honest! Butch may be a bit rough around the edges but I think we'll grow to like him. Maybe he's just misunderstood. I'm super excited for the first challenge though!"

Mipsy: "I spent a lot more time talking to Isaiah than I expected. I barely even talked to some of the others. Here's hoping that doesn't come back to bite me in the first challenge. I ought to talk to that girl, Lin, about her walk around the island. I know she's not on my team but I'm really curious about how this place looks!"

Bea: "I'm lucky to be on the same team as some of the nicer contestants like Ali, Ginger, Tatiana and Earnest, but some of the more harsh and enigmatic players like Butch and Brad are here as well. Those parameters will have to be taken into account when calculating our chances of winning the upcoming challenges."

Tatiana: "My team is certainly... interesting... I can play nice for a while but I;m not exactly a fan of big groups. I think I'll be fine though, i don't have a target on my back and I intend to keep it that way."

Earnest: "Heck yeah, team time! All of my teammates look like solid players and I think we've got a good chance of going far! Go Ruby Ravens!"

Tracy: "So, Team Ravens, it's definitely an interesting group. Let's see if we can make things work!"

Marsha: "Aww, I've been separated from my dear Sapphire! You've won this round, Algernon! Haha, I'm just joking! But my team looks pretty tough so I think we'll be fine. I hope we get a cooking challenge though! I'd love to show off my skills!"

Isaiah: "The team I ended up on really didn't make much of a difference, I know I'll go far. Still, it's good to have someone sensible like Melissa on the same team."

Joseph: "I think I have a really good team to work with. Sapphire and Walter are both tough, Jenny's a cheerleader so she's a team player, and Algernon is smart. It also sounds a bit selfish to ask Johan about getting to know his cousin, but hey, a girl that good looking doesn't come around often!"

Sapphire: "So I'm thankfully on the same team as my sister, so I can keep an eye on her. The others look competent, for the most part, but our team has the two dunderheads that were at each other's throats earlier. Plus, Algernon is on my team so... there's that..."

Charlene: "Teaming with my sis... meh. As for everyone else, they're mostly okay, I guess?"

Lin: "I hope my team doesn't expect me to spend time with them in the cabin because once the challenges end I'm heading out and enjoying some peace and quiet."

Johan: "So, my team seems alright, I guess. Jen's both nice and pretty, Algie and the sisters seem alright, Walter and Joseph are absolute units and Terra is... Terra."

Jenny: "Okay, so I'm super excited about my team! Johan's a sweetheart and he's so talented! Terra actually seems like a lot of fun, even if she's a bit weird. I didn't get to talk to the others much but I think I'll get along with them, too!"

Omari: "Ah, why'd I gotta be on the same team as that jerkoff, Frank?! Ergh, whatever, I'll vote him off the first chance I get. But for now I gotta focus on winning challenges and talking to some of the girls here. We got Jenny in a cheerleader miniskirt, those sisters that kinda got that punk girl look that I can rock with, Lin looks too thin to bother with and Terra's freaky. But I GOTTA link up with that Carmen!"

Algernon: "I should be excited to be on the same team as Sapphire but... I'm too terrified to be happy! I have Walter and Joseph on my team which means I'll be sleeping in the same cabin as those two goliaths! Ohh, I'm going to end up squashed by those two in less than a week, count on it..."

Walter: "Hah! So Joseph and I will be working alongside each other! With our physical strength we will easily take on any physical challenge Chris will give us! The rest of the team may need a bit of discipline to keep up, but it is a challenge I am more than happy to accept!"

Terra: "Do you think Chris will give us our own Eagle mascot? Will everyone get their own baby eagle? If I take everyone's eaglet and raise them as my own do you think I can train them to do stunts?!"

Frank: "Ugh, of course I'm stuck with that loser, Omari! Whatever, if we ever lose a challenge then he's toast! Nobody insults the Omega!"

*end confessionals*

"Everybody like your teams?" Chris asked. "Well, like them or not, you're stuck with them! Enjoy your dinner and be sure to get a good night's sleep because your first challenge is tomorrow!"

"Are you done explaining everything?" Chelsea asked. "Because I have a few choice words for you McLe-"

Chelsea wasn't able to finish as Chris stepped out of the mess hall and walked back to his personal living quarters, leaving the intern to silently seethe in anger.

"And with that all said and done, we have our contestants and teams settled in and our first challenge set! How will the campers get along with their teams? How many of the guys will try to get with Carmen? Will Omari and Frank tear each other apart before the first elimination? Speaking of which, who will be the first person to be voted off the island? Find out next time on what is sure to be a very interesting season of Total! Drama! Glimmering Isles!"

And so the stage is set! Did any character in particular catch your eye? Who do you think the main antagonist or antagonists will be? Feel free to share your thoughts in the reviews or PM's and let me know what you think! Suggestions for challenges are also always welcome as well!

I'd also like to give special thanks to ninjedi for allowing me to include their OC, Chelsea, into this story as an intern. Hopefully you enjoy this story!
