Ruby quickly detected a difference in the air a few days after her initial visit to the community center. Her sister had bags under her eyes, and it looked like she was losing weight. Even with his cool makeover, Shaggy looked incredibly tense over something. Even Scooby was at a loss for words. Ruby didn't understand any of it. So, as humans say, she bit the bullet and asked her older sister what the problem was.

Crystal was reluctant to explain the seriousness of specific matters to her sister. It wasn't just because her sister was only eleven in human terms. It's just their civilization was against violence. Therefore, she didn't understand how to describe such a foreign concept to a child, let alone her own sister. Still, she knew she had to give her sister an answer before she heard from someone else. Consequently, she took her little sister to her and Shaggy's room and calmly attempted to explain everything transpiring on the planet where they lived.

Ruby still looked exceptionally bewildered, so Shaggy came in and also assisted in explaining the concepts of discrimination, the rise of mass shootings, and how angry and hateful the world had become recently. Both took the time to explain that two significant wars were raging on the other side of the planet. Crystal had attempted to shield her some but couldn't any longer, not after how Ruby had been treated at the community center.

Shaggy clarified that some individuals are ignorant and malicious for petty and ludicrous reasons that make no rational sense. Plus, sometimes you can't make individuals see the light or understand how inappropriate their thinking was. Crystal likewise described that everyone could change or commit good or evil acts. It came down to their choices. However, whatever the consequences of either option, they still had to take responsibility for them.

This serious but much-needed discussion went long into the night. While it was heartbreaking at times to explain it to a young girl who'd never witnessed the kind of brutality that was becoming normal on Earth, they needed to prepare her for what was out there. Crystal was incredibly distraught throughout the conversation. She'd privately spoken to their parents a few days ago while her sister was at school. Ruby's stay on Earth might be more than a year due to insinuating circumstances she didn't want to bring up right now.

In the end, Ruby cried after hearing all she had been told as her sister and Shaggy consoled her. Affirming they loved her and would protect her as best they could. However, she needed to know this information now and not later. If only the age of innocence hadn't been lost so many decades ago, but the time of innocence had been shattered with the rise of technology and corruption worldwide. Sadly, children couldn't stay children for as long as they used to. Thus, it was disheartening for everyone.
