What I Thought I Wanted
Chapter 31
Heaven is a place on earth with you
They say that the world was built for two
Only worth living if somebody is loving you
By the time we were ready and prepared to be married I was 8 months into my pregnancy.
Going through late trimister symptoms. Braxton hicks contractions. Stress over the impending delivery. Frequent urination. Not sleeping comfortable at night. The baby was so active. Way more then before.
I wasn't in the mood for anything regarding sex or taking off my clothes besides a quick shower.
I wouldn't be ready to celebrate or union in a romantic way until after the baby. I knew that. And i told him that.
I felt bad and honestly selfish. We had wanted to get married for so long and i wanted the perfect experience for us.
But Lucas took me in his arms. Kissed me.
And made it very clear he couldn't care less about that.
All that mattered was being officially husband and wife.
Our wedding day morning was very routine. Except we had chairs set up in the living room. A minister close by to marry us.
And we were dressed ready for the big day.
It became real as family and friends started to show up the door was unlocked and they were piling in. Soon the seats were full.
I made my way upstairs waiting to walk down.
Lucas waited at the end. Nathan Skills Mouth on one side. Rachel. Haley and on the other.
The crowd erupted in laugher as Teddy made his way towards his dad. Carrying the pillow with the rings.
I soon began my way towards Lucas feeling various eyes on me but all i could see was Lucas and he saw me.
Love and joy reflected back at me in his face and eyes.
We soon joined hands. Karen holding Teddy in her lap.
"We are gathered here today to witness a union between two people in love. The couple have written vows and would like to share them.
I spoke first. Barely making it through mine without tears.
As Lucas said his vows. The emotion in his voice thick.
"If there is anyone who objects speak now or forever hold you're peace." The minister said.
