Beatrice was born in China and her father was originally a big company's CEO but he was bankrupt and was arrested in jail. Beatrice hates him because he ruined her dream. Beatrice always want to get into politic because most of her family members are working for the government of China or even USA like her uncle.
Her mom went to use to work and she was left alone with her grandma . One day she was informed that her mom is going to marry with the governor of Pennsylvania and he helps her changed her family and and nationality.
So now she is America and she is beatrice underwood . Soon after that, she is flying to USA today. Her uncle will drive her with grandma to airport and Jim underwood 's private jet will be waiting for her on board
Frank underwood , the state deputy, brother to Jim underwood knows that he is having a new niece beside Christina . Christina is now with Peter Russo . Peter Russo is the new governor of Pennsylvania but he is a drug addict and divorced
Frank underwood can't expect Christina to work for him but he can expect beatrice because she is new . However he doesn't know one day she will be his biggest enemies and he will lose in her hand .
"So my niece is coming today." Frank underwood is sitting in front of the table . "She need someone to protect her ."
"You think who will be the best one ." Douglas sits beside his table .
"I think Edward meechum will be good . He is too young to protect me ." Frank underwood laughs . "Call meechum in."
Edward meechum is standing outside of the door . He doesn't move until Douglas opens the door
"Edward , Mr underwood wants to talk to you." Douglas beckons him inside the room.
"Sir , you want to talk to me ?" Edward stands straighter .
"Yes , you heard that my brother is married with a Chinese American woman right?" Frank underwood smiles at him.
Edward nods at him. He doesn't know why is he telling him that.
"I want you to pick her up from the airport and maybe we can arrange with captain Rockland that you can be her body guard if you want." Frank underwood points at Edward meechum.
"Sure sir but I still want to work for you." Edward shakes his head
Frank underwood knows that Edward is loyal to him but he wants Steve back.
"I will have Steve back when he recovered so you have to go somewhere . To be with my niece , you can still stay beside me ." Frank underwood shrugs . "If you want, I am not forcing you."
Beatrice now is on the way to the airport . Her uncle isn't really happy.
"She wants to marry whoever she wants but why she is going to take beatrice away." Jack sighs
"I want to go uncle . My dad will be a black history on my resume that I can never remove . I want to be a politician and who can accept a politician whose father was a prisoner?" Beatrice shakes her head . "I need my new dad to support me or my new uncle ."
Jack is shocked . He never know how cruel his niece can be .
"You were never like that beatrice . Why?" Jack asks
"I want power and authority. Money is way less important than that. Plus , when I have power , I have money." Beatrice raises her eyebrows . "People change overtime uncle . I am seven grade already."
Maria and Jim underwood now is sitting in the living room. Christina comes downstair ready to leave
"Still seeing Peter Russo?" Jim underwood says
"Dad , I am working for him." Christina rolls her eyes
"Don't think that I don't know that you and him are having an affair ." Jim underwood smirks. "He is not a good boyfriend ."
Christina doesn't know how to say a word . She knows what did Peter done for this .
"He was divorced when we spent time together , so that is not an affair ." Christina looks at Maria . "Just chill out dad ."
"Just go, I don't want to see you now ." Jim underwood stands up.
"Jim, please trust Christina ." Maria sighs . "Christina you should go and I will talk to your dad ."
Christina likes Maria . She is her mom now and she knows that her daughter will come today.
"Thanks mom and I heard beatrice is coming today?" Christina raises her eyebrows
"Yes she is but she will live with your uncle until we marry." Maria smiles at Christina . "Just go for your work now ."
"See you mom." Christina kisses Maria on her cheek
Right now Edward meechum is back home . He needs to talk to her mom before he goes to airport to pick beatrice up .
"Are you back Edward?" Elizabeth is calling him. "I am upstair ."
"Yes mom , I am back." Edward walks upstair and he sees someone . "Jessica?"
Jessica is edward's ex girlfriend but he doesn't love her anymore . Edward's dad was dead because of an attack and now only his mom is alive . Jessica walks toward Edward
"I want to talk to you for our relationship. Jessica grabs Edward's hand .
"No , we are over . When you slept with my best friend , we are over ." Edward pushes her away. "I have to pick up someone from airport. I will not be able to eat at home . Just leave my mom alone ."
"You told me that you broke up with my son because you were busy with your school. So you betrayed him." Elizabeth is shocked . "Leave now "
Jessica wants to say something but doesn't know what to say. She turns around and leaves
Beatrice is now arriving in the airport of Washington DC . She goes through the security check and she is looking around for someone to pick her up.
Her mom told her that he will be someone tall and handsome . His name is Edward meechum who is her uncle's body guard .
"Where is him? Is he late?" Beatrice sighs .
"Hello are you miss underwood?" Edward meechum approaches to her . "I am Edward meechum.
He takes out his certificate . Beatrice nods at him.
"Come with me , I am going to drive you to the house." Edward takes her luggage . "You will stay with Frank underwood and Claire underwood before the wedding right?"
"Yes meechum right?" Beatrice smiles at him. "Can I call you meechum?"
"Whatever you want." Edward says
Beatrice follows Edward out of the airport and get into the van . Edward starts to drive . Frank underwood is now back home . Claire is cooking.
"You are back so early. Where is Edward?" Claire welcomes him
"He is picking up beatrice from airport." Frank sits down . "I wander what happens with Steve ."
"Edward said that he was sick." Claire gives him a cup of coffee . "I think that he is right."
Now the door opens . Beatrice comes in . Claire underwood looks at her
"Auntie!" Beatrice runs to her
She saw Claire underwood in video and she loves her
"Beatrice , you are so pretty." Claire hugs her .
"You are prettier ." Beatrice looks back. "Thanks meechum."
"You are welcome ." Edward says
His heart is beating fast. She is someone that he can't have feeling for .
"Come and have a cup of coffee." Beatrice invites Edward
"I am fine . I am done with my shift." Edward shakes his head
"Let him go beatrice . We can have coffee together tomorrow ." Claire smiles
Edward leaves the house . Beatrice is too kind to be in this kind of family. However it is not of his business . Beatrice is now sitting down to have dinner
"So you like Edward? He may be your body guard soon." Frank smiles at beatrice
"It depends on him. I respect people . I want them to be willing to work for me not by force." Beatrice sighs . "I think that he likes you guys better."
"Our old one will be back so he will have to go." Claire chops up the meat for beatrice . "If you want him, he can stay."
Frank knows that Beauce is very kind . Can she really be the politician who think only for themselves ?
"I can ask him." Beatrice nods at them.
After dinner , beatrice helps Claire to clean up. Claire likes her
"You always do chorus right in China?" Claire asks
"We have nanny but sometime yes I do ." Beatrice shrugs . "When i feel bored."
"We have nanny too but she is off ." Claire sighs . "So I have to do the work."
After cleaning, Claire brings beatrice to the fifth floor .
"This whole entire floor is your so you can have it ." Claire smiles . "I and your uncle will not come up here ."
"Thanks auntie ." Beatrice says
"You are welcome . You must be tired . You can rest now ." Claire opens the door for her . "Good night."
Beatrice sits on the bed . Frank underwood , she of course knows him. If she wants to become politician, he is the one she has to follow .
"Don't think that I am naive but sometime that I can be cruel." Beatrice starts to clean her luggage .
She wants to stay in this house with this important man. She knows that she has a way to. Maria also knows that beatrice wants this
"So I am thinking maybe if beatrice likes your brother , she can stay with them longer ." Maria hugs jim.
"I know that but I will have to ask Frank." Jim kisses her forehead . " she is my daughter and I respect her choice ."
"I love you Jim ." Maria sighs
Jim and Maria met at a party. They do love each other
"I love you too.'let's go to bed . Beatrice must be sleeping now . Frank told me that she is at his house already." Jim smiles .
"Okay." Maria nods at him
They sleep on the bed together . Maria knows that Christina is still sad
"You have to understand Christina more . She has her own reason to be with Peter ." Maria says .
