Chapter 6: Lin Sun teaches Jason how to be a Ninja

"Now, Jason, when you are scouting, you will need to move slowly and precisely like so!" Lin Sun stalked an imaginary person, by moving his hands and legs in a particular motion.

"Much like walking like a cat!" Jason tried but he was much better at larger movements rather than small stepping movements.

"It is much like learning to dance?" Lin Sun said as he guided Jason's hands and legs to the appropriate positions but stopped when Jason began to topple down like a large clumsy tree! Joshua was recuperating on his bed as he watched and started to laugh at his brother. Jason looked at him with disgust as he caught himself from falling totally onto the floor. Lin Sun looked frustrated.

"I am sorry, Jason, you will have to stay home, we cant take you!" He said.

"I am going, but maybe my capacity as a scout is not what you will need! What about those swords and daggers that you have on the table?" He picked up something that looked like a saw blade for a logging mill, just smaller.

"What about this thing?" Jason asked wondering how it would work. Lin Sun looked at the object and said:

"You know, Jason, that just might work for you. It is called a Shurikan and it is thrown in close quarters. You may have to stop someone and that will stop them especially if you get them in the chest or even the leg, like your brother!" Lin said. He then proceeded to show Jason how to hold the object and how to throw it. Jason took it outside to practice with it. When he felt comfortable he called Lin out to watch. He was able to hit his target, a knot in a stump dead center.

"Yes, I think we have found your weapon!" They went back into the backroom of the Chinese shop where Joshua had been staying and recovering. It had been about a week since Jeremy and Candy and Aurora were missing. The Chinese Ninja's had reported back to Lin about the where they were and if they were alive. All three were alive. However, it seemed there was one other person who had shown up and had taken control. They did not know who he was, but it seemed that Candy and Jeremy knew. They were being held at a warehouse on the dock in San Francisco. The person who now had taken charge was looking for a ship to send Jeremy, and then the two ladies would be taken inland somewhere, Arizona or maybe New Mexico and sold. This was to happen within the next 7 days.

After hearing this report, both Jason and Joshua were concerned.

"Lin, do you know where we can get to them? I am sure if we wait any longer we will be too late!" Joshua said as he was now able to sit up and to stand and walk a little more. Toy came in with some tea and set it down in front of the men.

"Joshua, you need to drink some more tea. That will help your healing!" She said.

"I am not sure Toy, last few times it put me to sleep! I can't sleep now; I have to go rescue my brother!" He said smiling at her but not taking the tea.

"I understand that you are worried and want to take care of your brother, but you are not well yet! You can barely stand; you need to stand and walk and be able to run if you need to. So, sit down and drink your tea!" Joshua looked at her as if he was going to argue with her, but he sat down and drank it anyway. Toy smiled and said:

"If you were really ready, you would have argued with me about it and I would have said okay. But since you put up no fuss, you must still be too weak!" Lin smiled, and said:

"Joshua, Toy knows what she is talking about, she has learned much about medicine from Dr. Chan. But, we will be going in two more days, I do believe you will be able to walk better then Joshua.

Joshua drank his tea and smiled and said:

"Well, I suppose we can wait two more days!" Jason looked at his brother and thought that if he could go without him and find Jeremy and Candy and Aurora he would do that. But, it seemed as if it was going to take a team to extract them from whoever had them now!

At the warehouse, the man who had shown up and surprised them all was standing at a desk. He had many papers in his hands and was looking them over. He walked over to the three captives who were tied to individual chairs, they were gagged, especially the red-haired lady who had a beautiful hypnotic voice when she sang. He had a job for her, but it would depend on her reaction to what he was going to do to the other two.

"Now, Miss von Sydow, I am familiar with your father and his experiments! I am also familiar with how he had experimented with you as well. He provided you with an excellent singing voice! One that would send men into a hypnotic state. So much so, that he was able to fund his research quite handsomely. Therefore, I am proposing an agreement with you. I will set these two free and you will go free as well if you agree to sing so that I can rob a few banks! Oh, don't try to speak to me. If you do not, or you cross me, you friends will die. First the young man, whom I think you want for yourself. The young lady, well, we shall see if you want her to be alive when we are finished!" The man said, his ugly fat face close to hers. She could see his eyebrows and the sweat that dripped constantly from the top of his head, she could feel his hot breath on her face as he moved his lips to hers to kiss her. He wanted her and he wanted her to know that he wanted her.

He smiled as he backed away from her and he said:

"You will write your answer on this paper!" his henchman untied her and placed the paper on the table in front of her. She looked at Jeremy and then at Candy. If she said no, Jeremy would die if she said yes, he would live. The same went for Candy. Suddenly, she started to cry, sobbing uncontrollably. Jeremy was tied and blindfolded Along with a helmet that was put on his head so he could not hear what was being said. Candy, however, was tied but had worked her ropes off. She was also not gagged nor blindfolded.

"Aurora: listen to me, don't say yes. He is intending to kill us anyway!" The henchman slapped Candy across the face, Candy jumped up and ran to Aurora and tried to release her gag. She was able to loosen it just enough when she was grabbed and pinned down. Aurora opened up her mouth and was about to sing her first note when she was punched in the jaw. She lay on the floor bleeding and unconscious. Candy was taken out and placed on the side of the warehouse and tied to a ships wheel. It would be leaving soon, and Candy would be dead.

Jeremy heard the muffled sounds and desperately tried to get loose. First he shook his head back and forth and finally was able to get the helmet off his head. The blindfold had come loose from the helmet falling off. His hands were still tied, and he looked to see what had happened. He saw who he thought was Candy and then realized it was Aurora on the floor unconscious. He did not see Candy. The Henchmen came over to him and left him. He could not do anything while he was tied so they left him be.

"Pick up the lady and put her on that bed. When she wakes up, she may still be able to sing so gag her again! I will be back. I have to order a stagecoach!" The man said.
