WHAT IS UP MUCKAAAACHUNGAAAAAS!? IT'S TRAVEZTY! And I am so sorry for the delay of the next chapter, but I have a good reason for it! Truth be told, I had got hit with a serious case of writer's block part way through the chapter, so I need to step back and work on other projects for a while. Only recently did I manage to get out of it, but, to make matters worse, I got hit with a Stomach Virus right after I had gotten home from getting my schedule, which delayed my getting back into the chapter. Now, unlike my other two projects where I will be working on alongside this one ("Nocturne of Ice and Fire" & "Spirit of the Wolf"), I will not be limiting myself to 3,000-7,000 Words per chapter, namely due to, unlike them, I have the Goblin Slayer Manga to help control the pacing of my story so I can take my time and control my pacing with this one far more easily than the other two, as I'm going in, pretty much, blind with those two.
Again this delay wasn't supposed to happen, namely because the Stomach Virus hit me right when I was figuring out how to organize the story going forward, but the pain, muscle weakness, and lethargy really made it difficult for me to think on how to proceed. Now I've been delayed again as I have to rethink how I'm going to do the next chapter. But in any case, here is the schedule for the fics that I have planned to continue, and the order they will proceed in:
First: Nocturne of Ice and Fire (A Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire x Dungeons & Dragons Fanfiction.)
Second: Spirit of the Wolf Book 1: Wings of the Butterfly (A Legend of Zelda BotW/TotK AU Fanfiction, where Zelda allows information from her time to influence the future of the Founding Era, and the Butterfly Effect that happens because of it. If you're interested check it out)
Third: "Goblin Slayer: The Table" (A Goblin Slayer x Dungeons & Dragons fanfiction, basically takes a D&D based Anime/Manga and combines it with actual D&D, where the Gods are the Players and the Characters are Player Characters for the Gods that represent them)
Aside from this, I will be playing video games and doing D&D with my Brother-In-Law, Sister, and Niece. And let me tell ya, in the last session, we just barely escaped a time loop created by my bro's homebrew monster, which is a Snake-Jazzing Eldritch Abomination in the form of a Turtle! That honestly freaked me the hack out, and now I'm not going to trust a turtle whenever I see one!
However, as you guys who know me, I often end up abandoning a story with no notice due to either a random idea for a good story pops into my head, I enter writer's block and am never able to get out of it, i end up burning myself out, or because I simply get bored with an idea. I am not sure when either of those will happen to any of these stories, so I would like to apologize ahead of time if this happens again. So to that effect, I would like your help to prepare a Back-Up Plan should that happen to any of these stories.
So I actually do have an idea for a back-up story that I always wanted to try. Now as I said, this is a back-up story, and a side-project that I'm working on the side for fun when I'm not gaming or playing D&D with the family, to keep my creative juices flowing. In any case, here it is:
Name: Hitokiri Senko
Setting: Naruto
Summary: During one of Konoha's annual "Fox Hunts" Naruto is saved by the most unlikely of saviors, a Samurai banished from the Land of Iron under mysterious circumstances. The Shinobi will never be the same, as the Orange Hokage starts off not as a ninja, but a samurai! The Shinobi World will never be the same as Naruto gains a new infamous name under the tutelage of his new adopted father: Hitokiri Senko.
Context: Not gonna lie, I've been wanting to do a Naruto as a Samurai story for a very… Very… VERY… Long time! However, when the Samurai were introduced, I was completely underwhelmed to how they were displayed and how they so easily got owned by Ninja, when they were hyped up to be an equal threat to the Shinobi. Such a wasted opportunity, especially since there was so much more that could be done with them! The only Samurai in Naruto who completed any of the common samurai tropes was their Leader, Mifune, and later his student, Tsubaki Kurogane, in Boruto. Now I didn't watch all the filler episodes of Naruto, but I did read most of the manga, so that was something that really freaking disappointed me. However, while we didn't get to see many of their techniques, what few we did get to showed that Samurai had some distinct advantages over Shinobi, few though they are!
Aside from that, I recently learned (Thanks to "Let's ask Shogo" on YouTube) that Iaido and Battodo are two different types of Sword Drawing techniques, with different philosophies and training methods, which has inspired me to create my own version of Iaido and Battodo (a la Iaijutsu and Battojutsu) in Naruto as well, including combining them to create the Uzushio-ryu Fighting Style for the Naruto universe, which my self-insert is definitely going to teach Naruto!
In any case, I've been wanting to work on this story for a while now, and, there is one story in particular that inspired it: "Naruto: Heir of Whirlpool". It was one of the first Naruto Fanfics i read, and long before I learned that the Uzumaki were Fuinjutsu Experts, the author, Lord Rahl Master of D'Hara, had turned Uzushio into a nation of Samurai, and even included Rurouni-fucking-Kenshin into it as Kushina's brother! How crazy is that!? This story has inspired me for years to create a Samurai Naruto… However, aside from the other pieces of Inspirational Influences are Rurouni Kenshin (obviously), Bleach, and Demon Slayer, which will also have special influences on the story as well!
Now with that all aside, I will be getting back to work on Goblin Slayer this weekend, and I honestly have quite a bit that I want to show you guys in that chapter! Trust me, this battle is one that I have set up as a two-part battle scenario with some banter here and there! In any case, again, I apologize for the delays, the stupid stomach flu caught me off guard and I didn't get on it on time because I was recovering from it. So this weekend, hopefully, I'll be able to get some good progress on the next chapter. Oh I would also like to personally thank "TheRealD3lp0xL0v3r" and "Rune20006" for helping me come up with OCs for the Side-Project/Back-Up Story, namely for my Self-Insert's Genin Students! But anyway, that is enough out of me for now, I'll get started working on the next chapter as soon as possible. Catch ya on the Flipside! Goblins?/Dattebayo!
