By the time classes ended and Stiles and I were making our way to the field for practice, I had an idea forming to help Isaac, but I already knew what Stiles reaction would be. He wasn't happy about that option the first time around so chances are he wouldn't be now either, but knew it had to be done. At least doing it earlier this time around may prevent some things for happening.

"Hey, did you think of anything?" Stiles asked.

"Yeah I did, sort of. But I don't think you're gonna like it." I sighed.

"Okay, what is it?" he asked, stopping us at the sideline again. Coach blew the whistle calling practice to order.

"We'll talk about later." I told him. I could see he wanted to object but coach called him over. Giving me one last look he nodded and ran over to him.

"Alright, listen Stilinski, this has to be the stupidest idea I have ever had but I want to give you a try out in a different position." Coach said, shaking his head. "Danny, get over here." He called startling Stiles. Breaking away from Jackson and the rest of his entourage he ran over, stopping in front of the looking confused. Looking around nonchalantly I still listened in to what was being said. I could see Jackson and crew watching as well, though they couldn't hear what was being said.

"What's up coach?" Danny asked.

"I found out yesterday that we are losing Martinson, he's transferring or going to rehab I don't know. But he was your back up. So we now have that position open." Coach rolled his eyes. Both Danny and Stiles blinked in surprise and I was just in shock. This definitely didn't happen last time. "Even thinking this leaves a bad taste in my mouth but I think Stilinski might have potential as a goalie. I want you to work with him the next few practices and then will do a trial run at the pre-game, next week. If he does well then the position is his and we will work out a schedule so you both get some play time and neither of you tire out quickly."

"Wait, coach, are you serious?" Stiles asked in disbelief.

"Don't make me repeat it Stilinski. Just don't disappoint me. Work with Danny, get your skill level up and we will talk about it."

"So… I'll be first string?" Stiles asked, not quite able to wrap his mind around it.

"Technically. More like 1.5 string. Just work hard and don't make me regret doing this."

"Yes. Coach you won't regret this, I promise. I could so hug you right now." Stiles squirmed excitedly.

"Please don't. I left my disinfectant in the office. Now go. You two work on the other side of the field. Danny, give him your all, we need you both up to full capacity for the season. Don't be afraid to aim for the head."

"Got it coach." Danny said jogging towards the other end. Stiles followed stopping next to me on the way.

"Dude, coach is going to let me try out as goalie." Stiles exclaimed, geeking out a bit. His adrenaline was off the roof but so was his determination. He's always wanted a chance to be a real player, we both had. Before I had achieved that but he hadn't. I was ecstatic that he now had the chance.

"I heard." I told him, tapping my ear. "I'm happy for you man. You earned this."

"Get going Stilinski, gossip after practice." Coach yelled.

"Go, you got this. Congrats." I told him.

"thanks." He said running off to meet up with Danny. I shook my head in shock, watching Danny clap him on the back and congratulating him.

"So, your friend might actually get to play this season." Lydia said, coming to stand beside me.

"Stiles. His name is Stiles. How do you not know this? We've been in the same school since third grade, at least." I told her, turning to face her completely. She shrugged, arms crossed over her chest as she studied Danny and Stiles on the other end of the field.

"I hope he doesn't screw it up, but I guess he can't get any more pathetic." She said, tilting her head in consideration. It really annoyed me how horrible she had been during this time. I remembered before she tried to goad me to play, even threatening to introduce Allison to other players. She didn't seem to care about the fact that Allison and I really liked each other. She was worried about making her boyfriend look good on the field.

"You know this whole mean girl's thing you have going on isn't as cute as you think it is." I told her.

"Excuse me." she said, affronted.

"I don't know if you put on this act to appease your parents or Jackson or what. But this whole trying to be perfect all the time and screw anyone who doesn't meet those standards thing gets old pretty quick. Despite what you want everyone to believe, you are better then what you pretend to be."

"How dare you. You don't know me." she said, hands on her hips and that famous eyebrow arch she does.

"I know that you are incredibly smart and that you actually do have a really caring heart underneath all that bravado, and that somewhere deep down you know you deserve better then what you are currently getting."

"You don't know what you are talking about." She snapped but I could see the vulnerability behind those green eyes.

"I know more than you think. Look Lydia, I'm not trying to tell you what to do or who to be, I just want you to be yourself. I want you to see the wonderful person you truly are behind the makeup, fancy clothes, the fan club and the jock boyfriend. You are so much more than your outward appearance. You deserve to be seen for what's on the inside and there are people who do see it, you just have to open your eyes and give them a chance to show you how wonderful you really are." I said with a quick glance behind us to Stiles and Danny. Stiles gave us, probably more her, a goofy wave before focusing back on Danny. I turned back to Lydia where she had followed my gaze with a quirked brow then looked back at me.

"McCall, get in line, time for drills." Coach called.

"Let me know when you talk to your mom and then we will talk about everything I know about you and… other things as well. In the meantime, maybe think about what who you really are and the person you want the world to see." I told her before jogging off to join the end of the line. Jackson's eye's followed me, narrowing then flicked to Lydia who was still standing on the sideline looking dazed.

"Let's go Jackson. Show these guys why you are team captain." Coach said with a clap.

I missed him taking his shot looking back towards the other goal to see Stiles successfully defend it by block a hard shot Danny took. I smiled watching him try to stay focus and not celebrate. I jerked back when my view was obstructed to see Jackson now behind me, or in front of me since I wasn't facing the right way.

"So, you getting with Lydia now?" he asked, fiddling with his stick.

"What?"

"You were alone in an office with her yesterday and now talking today." He grinned with raised brows. "I mean I get it. She's hot and that's outside the bedroom. Might want to work on your stamina though. Quickies are okay for school but not so much any other time."

I had to work to keep my anger in check. Even knowing why he was the way he was, hearing him talk about her like that made me want to deck him. Despite how she acts she doesn't deserve to be treated or talked about as if she is nothing but a toy to be played with.

"You don't know what the hell you're talking about. I suggest you shut up now." I warned him.

"No need to get bent out of shape. I'm just saying. For your intro into the popular crowd, she's a good starter. I don't mind loaning her out and you could do worse." He shrug.

I could see the delight in his eyes as he spoke and it set me off. Grabbing him by his jersey I drove him to the ground, landing with a knee against his chest. A growl permeated my chest as I glared at him, fighting to keep my eyes from switching.

"Shit, Scott, stop." Stiles called. In my peripheral I saw him and Danny running for us along with coach.

"I know you get a thrill out of using your money and status to do and say anything you want and getting away with it. But I could give two shits about how much money you have or who your parents are. Say something like that again and I will show you just how bent out of shape I can get." I snarled at him as he tried to shove me off. I shoved harder against him, getting a sick satisfaction at the wince it caused. "And maybe start caring about the people who truly give a shit about you and not treat them as if they are disposable."

"McCall, what the hell are you doing? Get off him." Coach called. Stiles, Danny and a couple of other players pulled me back away from Jackson. "Do we have problem here, guys?"

"I don't know. Do we have a problem Jackson?" I asked, staring him down as he was helped up. His face was red with anger but also a bit of nerves.

"No coach, just a small misunderstanding. It won't happen again." Jackson said.

"Good, line it up for suicides, boys. We need to work off some of this aggression." Coach blew his whistle walking off. Lydia ran onto the field over to Jackson, grabbing his arm.

"Are you okay?" she asked, concern laced her voice.

"I'm fine." He snapped, yanking away from her and walking away. She frowned but slowly walked back to the benches, where a concerned Allison was waiting for her. I growled and made to go over to him but Stiles and Danny still held onto me.

"What the hell was that about?" Stiles asked.

"Nothing. Just a misunderstanding like he said." I bit out, my eyes following his trajectory.

"McCall, I know that Jackson can be an asshole 80% of the time but he has his reasons for why he is the way he is. Not saying it's right but it's best to just ignore him." Danny explained. Danny was a better friend then Jackson deserved.

"He should really work on that and maybe keep his mouth shut in the meantime." I growled. I took a deep breath to calm down. Danny studied me for a minute and I could see wheels turning in his head. I was reminded of a conversation I had with Ethan before he left town after Aiden died. He told me that Danny knew he was a wolf. Now I wondered just how long Danny knew about wolves. Judging by the look he was giving me I would say he has known this whole time.

"Just try not to hurt him too much. In his case, hard knocks won't change do anything but make it worse. It will take something drastic." Danny told me, clapping me on the back and letting me go.

"I'll keep that in mind." I sighed. "Sorry, I know he's your friend but he is such a dick."

"Trust me, I know." He smiled and headed back towards the goal.

"Seriously Scott, what was that about? I thought you said you had more control this time around." Stiles asked, studying me carefully.

"I do, but… Jackson just likes to run his mouth that's all. I wasn't going to go wolf on him, he just pissed me off. But forget it. Let's finish practice."

Stiles nodded, but I knew he wouldn't let it go. He would ask me about it later and I have to make the decision if wanted to tell him or not. I didn't want to hide things from him but this wasn't something he would take well, at all.

**REWIND**

The ride to the clinic after practice was quiet but Stiles was throwing me looks, biting back questions on what happened to cause me to snap. Though there was no way for him to really know the grip he had on the wheel told me he suspected it had to do with Lydia. After getting chewed out by coach for being too aggressive and dirty looks from Lydia I was glad to be done with all of it.

"Just ask, Stiles." I sighed and he went for it.

"What did Jackson do or say to make you go off like that? And how bad was it that you ended up using him as a tackle dummy all practice?" he asked.

I groaned knowing he was right. I was still angry even after the altercation and anytime he had the ball I tackled him to the ground, probably using more force then necessary. Not enough to really damage him, but enough to let him know I hadn't let it go. It didn't help that he kept murmuring to his lackeys to not hand the ball off to me and to make sure he got it instead. I figured if he wanted to be offense, I didn't mind playing defense.

"Alright, if I tell you, you have to promise not to do anything about it. I handled it for now and you going after him will do no one any good. So if you can promise me you will let it go then I will tell you."

He looked over at me in surprise, probably wondering what could be so bad that I would ask that of him. Finally nodding he agreed. I relayed the conversation we had and what led me to what I did. The red rising in his neck and face and the white knuckle grip on the steering wheel showed just how angry he was.

"I'm gonna kill him." Stiles rumbled.

"No, you're going to let this go and leave him alone."

"Seriously?"

"Look, I get it, I really do. In the previous timeline, when I was dating Allison, or when we broke up, he went for her. He didn't do it because he was actually interested in her and it didn't matter that he was still supposed to be dating Lydia. He did it to get to me because he found out what I am. But he said some of the same kinds of things about her trying to provoke me. So I completely understand what you are feeling. But going after him for this won't help. If things with him still happen how they did before then he will turn out to be an ally, one that we may need in the future. So right now it is best to leave it alone."

"Does he learn a lesson in the future?" he asked, still gripping the wheel hard.

"Yes."

"Does that lesson hurt him, physical, in any way?"

"Yes." I snorted.

"Is there a way to make it more painful than it was before?"

"Stiles." I laughed, shaking my head.

"Fine. I will leave it. For now. So what were you and Lydia talking about? Was it about this meeting you want to have with her?"

"No, not really. I just wanted her to know that she didn't have to hide who she truly is. There's no shame in how smart and caring she is and she should show that more." I summarized for him.

"Yeah, it drives me crazy how she acts, but I know she's not that person.

"No, she's not and that's what I told her."

"That changes right?"

"It does, a lot. But before it took some things happening to her before it did. I am hoping this time around she realizes it without being traumatized."

"Me too. Maybe… maybe we can help her get there faster."

"We will. I promise."

We pulled up in back of the clinic and sat there for a minute. Nerves and trepidation passed over his face as he stared at the building.

"Is this really happening? Are we really about to go in here and talk about events that have yet to come in hopes of preventing them?" Stiles asked.

"Yep, and it's just as mind blowing to me even though I came from it."

"We all survive though right? Everyone fighting with you. We didn't lose anyone?"

"You mean besides when I died? Yes, actually, we lost a few people in all that happened. None of them should have died but… I'm hoping that is one of the things we can change this time around. I'm going to do everything I can to change it." I said, my mind flashing to Allison's and Aiden's death, along with Satomi's pack, especially Brett and Lori. Liam took those really hard.

"Alright, let go change the future then." Stiles said getting out. I followed leading him into the clinic through the back.

"Dr. Deaton?" I called.

"My office." He answered and Stiles and I made our way back there. He was at his desk doing some paperwork that he put aside when we entered, gesturing to the two seats in front of his desk. "Hello boys, how was school?"

"About as interesting as school gets." I snorted taking one of the two seats, Stiles taking the other.

"I suppose that's fair. I have cleared my appointments for the day so we can really talk about this."

"I hate that this is disrupting your day." I sighed.

"It fine Scott. I'm still open for emergency problems but this is far more important."

"That reminds me." I groaned. "Today is the day Allison comes in."

"What do you mean?" Deaton asked.

"She does?" Stiles asked at the same time.

"She does. It was after closing and I was restocking and feeding the pets when she knocked on the door. She was driving in the pouring rain and hit a dog. She brought him in to be looked at. I think… that was the first time my powers started to manifest because the dog was getting feral but I was able to calm him with a stare."

"Hmm, your eyes must have activated. He sensed a predator, one he could not beat." Deaton said.

"Yeah, probably. But that's the first time I asked her out. It's how we started dating. That won't happen in this reality but it does make me wonder how that will effect certain things now. Her father and I got closer because of my relationship with her, well partly at least."

"Her father?"

"Yeah, he's a hunter."

"Okay, back up and tell me this story. Maybe we can find an alternate way to go about this."

"So I ask her out to a party that is supposed to happen this Friday and-."

"Wait, are you talking about the party at Lydia's house? The one that everyone has been talking about?"

"Yeah." I sighed, knowing what his reaction would be.

"And didn't think to take me?" Stiles cut in to ask. I blinked at him.

"I went on a date, why would I think to bring you?"

"You could have at least told me about it. "

"I did tell you. I don't think you showed up though. You seemed more obsessed with researching everything to do with werewolves at the time."

"Yeah, but-."

"Boys, let's get back on topic." Deaton said, smiling benignly at us.

"Right sorry. I promise to take you this time Stiles."

"You better." He muttered, slumping in his chair.

"Anyway, this Friday is a full moon. Before it was my first full moon but I didn't really believe in all this werewolf stuff, even though Stiles had researched it and tried to convince me. I ended up stranding her at the party when I started to feel the shift happen. That was the night I first encounters the hunters."

** This chapter ran really long so i split it into two chapters. That's why it ended this way. Next part is already up. **
