Jazmine sighed, observing herself in the mirror. Having struggled to find a dress to wear. She eventually stumbled upon one that she had purchased some time ago. Although she thought the dress was plain, the blue color perfectly accentuated her green eyes. As she stared at her reflection, she couldn't help but feel nervous about tonight's dinner.

The man she loves sitting across from another man she once loved was an unpleasant situation for her. Despite knowing it would happen eventually, she was unsure if she could handle the awkwardness that came with it.

Her main concern was to avoid Huey and Tristian having a conflict. She was aware that both of them possessed strong personalities and had the ability to take control of the entire room. She was uncertain about how to hide her emotions without being discovered by the children. Something inside her has been unleashed ever since she and Huey slept together. She felt sexually frustrated, as if a sexual beast had awakened. In addition, fear has overwhelmed her. Her worries were due to the certainty that she wanted to be with Huey, but knowing that it wouldn't be possible without things becoming complicated.

The feeling of being stuck was caused by the desire to continue seeing Huey, but she was reluctant to do so if it meant letting him go in the end.

'Mmm...'mmm..mm,' Tristan's voice interrupted her thoughts.

He came behind her, fresh out of the shower. His bare chest was glistening. It was a good thing he had a towel wrapped around his waist because Jazmine may have fainted. Tristan was a fine man who would have any woman on her hands and knees begging for his attention. Those days were over for Jazmine. She moved on, but the sight of him in his half-naked glory was still a strain on her nerves.

This was extremely inappropriate!

Jazmine was contemplating the method of kicking out her ex-husband. Tristan, who was amused looked at her while brushing his teeth. She couldn't decide what to be more upset about. The fact that he was using her toothbrush or his wet hair dripping on her recently polished floors.

'Tristian...' Jazmine said as she couldn't contain her glowing red cheeks. "Will you please.."

"Please what? "He walking towards her with a cocky grin.

"Get the hell out of my room!" She said sternly, which made him laugh hysterically.

"Tristan.. I'm not kidding. This is very inappropriate," Jazmine said uncomfortably.

"What's inappropriate? Do you mean this? " He stated while removing the towel from his waist to dry his hair. Jazmine gasps as she quickly covered her eyes from the sight of him.

"Tristan! What the hell! "She exclaimed.

Tristan chuckled as he covered himself up again. "Aw, come on Jazz. Don't pretend you've never seen this dick before," As a dirty thought came to mind, he said, "Considering we both know you've done more than just glance at it."

"Well, that was in the past, and now that part of your body is for your wife's eyes only"Jazmine stated.

"Yeah? Do you feel a certain way about that? "He inquired with a serious tone.

Jazmine's eyes rolled in annoyance. "Certainly not" she crossed her arms. "But it definitely may make our son feel some kind of way if he sees you,"

"Why is that? " Tristan inquired.

"Well, for starters, I wouldn't want him to get the wrong idea. I don't want him thinking we're doing unspoken things here, "Jazmine said.

"Does screaming my name play a role in those unspoken things? "He asked as her eyes widened in shock. "Do you recall the time he caught us in the act? When I had those sexy legs in the air while I was pounding you in, " he described while looking at her with lust.

"Tell me Jazz. When was the last time that body was put to work? " He spoke while licking his lips and thinking about it.

Last night, actually. Jazmine thought, feeling slightly aroused.

"That is not your concern , "Jazmine said with an attitude.

Tristan laughed. 'You're right, I apologize', he said as he knew he went a little too far.

Jazmine's eyes rolled. "Would you please just get dressed? Sebastian's fiancé and her father should be arriving any minute now,' she said as she imagined how furious Huey would be if he saw them.

"Alright, quit fussing ," He said as he looked like he was about to get dressed in her room.

Jazmine cleared her throat loudly.

"What now?" Tristan asked.

"In the guest room, please, " Jazmine demanded.

Tristan smiled as he left the room.

Jazmine exhaled deeply upon his departure. "Lord, please let this night go well,"

"Dad.."

Huey glanced at his daughter who was in the passenger seat.

'Yes, sweetheart,' he responded calmly.

"Could you promise to be on your best behavior tonight? "Nina asked.

Huey lifted his eyebrow. "I beg your Pardon?"

Nina sighed, 'I just know how you act when you meet someone new, particularly another male species.' You sometimes get too carried away with your remarks. I don't know what to expect from meeting Sebastian's dad, but I really don't want us to give the wrong impression," She said, hoping not to upset him.

"Nina.. What have I said about caring about the opinions of others? " Huey spoke firmly.

Nina rolled her eyes." Dad, this is not-""

"Your life isn't yours if you care what others think," Huey said as Nina rolled her eyes.

"I know Dad, but Mom always said you never get a second chance to make a first impression, so always act like it's your last," she said, causing Huey to smirk at her.

Huey chuckled, 'Your mother was a wise woman,'

Nina's heart melted. Yes, she was. I miss her, " she expressed sadly.

"Me too, sweetheart, " Huey admitted.

'Really? ' Nina said, surprised that her dad admitted to missing her mom.

"Yes" Huey replied. Although he may have been in love with another woman, he deeply cared for Katherine. He will always cherish the memories he had with her, as she was a good woman and mother. Furthermore, he wishes she was alive to witness their daughter flourish into a beautiful and intelligent woman.

"What is it that you miss most about her? " Nina said as Huey felt a bit caught off guard.

"Your mother was a great photographer, "he mentioned as Nina arched her brow. "Photographer? I thought mom was a Paralegal?"

"She was, but photography was a hobby of hers," Huey recalled.

Nina's eyes lit up with curiosity. "What type of photographs did she take?"

His eyes turned to her as he said. "Photographs of you", she smiled at the thought of it.

"But she also took photographs of landscapes, African art, and historical paintings. She would print them out and make collages of them, " he explained.

"Wow, that's incredible,' she said as she never knew this. "I wish I could have seen of photographs, " she said, looking down.

"I have a ton of them stored in the basement at home " he mentioned.

"Really? Can I see them? " Nina asked as her eyes lit up like a kid.

"Of course, "Huey remarked softly. "When you come to visit me again, we can take a look at them together"

Nina's eyes were filled with tears as she never felt so happy before. "Thank you, Daddy."

Huey's heart melted hearing his little girl call him Daddy again.

With a smile, he said, "You're welcome, Princess."

During the car ride to Jazmine's Residence, Nina kept asking questions about her mother. She loved how engaged her dad was about sharing more stories about her mother. Nina was ecstatic when her father opened up to her. She was unaware of the reason he was acting this way, but she was beginning to observe a change in her father.

He appears to be less agitated than usual. The usual negative vibe was absent from him. He actually seemed relaxed, and she wondered what was motivating him to act this way.

Upon reaching their destination, Huey noticed a black Rolls-Royce car parked in Jazmine's driveway. He felt tense immediately because he assumed it was the car belonging to Jazmine's ex-husband.

He had no idea how he would feel when he saw the eyes of the man who had been blessed enough to marry the woman he had always desired.

Although he never met Jazmine's husband, the thought of him always brought him resentment because he felt like he had taken his place. He acknowledged that it wasn't the husband's fault, but allowing Jazmine to be with another man was extremely traumatic for him.

"Dad. Are you alright? " Nina asked, interrupting his thoughts.

"Yes, I'm fine, sweetheart," He assured her while his face said otherwise.

"Okay, " she said as she wasn't convinced. 'Dad?' she asked with concern.

Huey calmly answered, "Yes, Nina?"

"Will you please be civil tonight? " She begged.

Huey sighed as he couldn't guarantee that. His behavior towards Jazmine's ex-husband will depend on what he perceives. If he says or does something out of hand, he doesn't think he could hold back, especially when it comes to the woman he loves.

"I'll be as civil as I can be,' he responded as Nina sighed in relief.

"Good, Oh! Look, there's Sebastian! "She rushed out of the car to greet her man, who was waving from the doorstep.

'Hey baby,' she said as she approached him. She greeted with a hug and kiss.

"Hey. You alright? "He inquired.

Nina smiled at his tenderness. "Yes, just a little anxious, that's all, " she said as he nodded.

"Do I look alright? " She asked, feeling nervous.

Sebastian looked at her outfit. She wore a black mock neck dress, nude heels. Her hair was styled in goddess braids and her face was beat thanks to Cassie.

"You look sexy as fuck babe," Sebastian said, checking her out.

She blushed. " Awe, Thanks, babe. You look so good in a suit, " Nina said, admiring how handsome her man looked.

"If you're interested, I can show you how good I look in my birthday suit tonight," He said it in a devious manner.

Nina was about to flirt back but then they heard a loud

"Ahem!"

Sebastian and Nina looked back to see that Huey staring at them with a unpleasant scowl on his face.

"'Sup, Mr. Freeman,' Sebastian said, chuckling nervously.

" How's the car? "He shut his eyes immediately regretting his stupid question.

"I arrived here, didn't I? " Huey said as Sebastian laughed it off. He noticed Huey holding a bouquet of red roses in his hand.

"So what's with the roses? " Sebastian asked.

"It's a gift for your mother, " Huey said as Nina and Sebastian looked in shock.

"For what exactly? " Nina questioned.

"I want to express my gratitude for her hospitality last night. She helped me a lot when the car broke down, " Huey explained. He didn't like the thought of having to explain himself to kids, but he didn't want to cause suspension.

Nina's expression softened. 'Aw. That was so nice of you, Dad,' she said with a small smile. It was a little out of the ordinary for her father to make such a nice gesture, she still thought.

But at least he was being nice, She thought.

Sebastian was not a florist, but he had some knowledge about flowers. If you want to thank someone, yellow or multi-colored tulips are a good choice, but red roses are a symbol of romance, passion, and love.

However, Huey appears to be the type who doesn't care much about the specifics.

"Well, I'm sure Mama will love them," Sebastian said as he escorted them in. As they walked inside, Tristan's voice was heard.

'Son, did you set the table like your mother?' He stopped in mid-sentence as he saw a familiar face.

"You got to be fucking kidding me" Huey cursed under his breath as he immediately recognized Tristan. He couldn't believe his own eyes.

Tristian grinned widely. 'I don't believe this! ' ITS THE LEGENDARY HUEY FREEMAN! " He exclaimed as he approached them.

'Alexander Bryant' Huey said with venom in his voice.

Tristan chuckled, 'I haven't been called that in a long time.'.

"Alexander is my middle name. Earlier in my career, I used it, but now I only use my first and last name. " He explained.

"So let me get this straight. You and Mr. Freeman knew each other this whole time? " Sebastian asked in disbelief.

"I wouldn't say we know each other, but back in the day, we were assigned to the same case, which I won," Tristan stated proudly.

Nina jaw dropped " Dad. Is this true? " She said in shock as her dad has never lost a case before.

At least that's what she thought. The tension between the two rose as she watched nervously.

"It's true, but that trial was a joke. An innocent black man was murdered while the killer walked," Huey said as his glare remained on Tristian.

"Oh come on, Freeman, don't tell me you're still bitter about the verdict. The jury made their vote, and Marshall Williams was proven innocent," Tristan stated.

"Wrong. The evidence indicates otherwise, but somehow it was unfairly thrown out of the trial, and you and I both know why," Huey argued.

Tristan smirked as he knew the truth behind the scenes. "The evidence was deemed prejudicial in court due to the fact that Willams was illegally searched by law enforcement" He stated.

"That's absurd! There was a warrant! The only thing that was prejudicial was the trial itself"Huey disagreed.

"Justice was served Freeman. Williams, a black intelligent businessman, acted in self-defense. The deceased, who I must add, was nothing but a thug. Williams gave him a job when no one would, but that thug was a perfect example of biting the hand that feeds you," Tristian argued.

"That "thug" name is Christopher Tillman. He was a father of four! Despite selling drugs in the past, he managed to turn his life around. Williams was refusing to pay Tillman the money he owed. According to the witness testimony, Williams was harassing Tillman two weeks prior to the shooting because Tillman was planning to expose him. It is not considered self-defense if the victim was running away when he was shot, "Huey argued.

"There was no evidence for the harassment allegations. Tillman should have reported the harassment to the police if he felt harassed. Instead, he went to Willam's home, beat him up, and tried to flee the scene" Tristan declared.

"That's a lie. The phone records indicate that Williams made a call to Tillman. During this conversation, Williams made an apology to Tillman and invited him to come over to retrieve his money. William's police statements stated that Tillman showed up at his doorstep in a hostile manner, but that isn't logical. If someone owes you money and they call you and say they have the money, you wouldn't show up with hostility. Having said that, I am convinced that Willam premeditated this" Huey argued.

"Tillman was prompted to engage in a fight by Willams' intentional infliction upon his arrival. He retrieved the weapon he had in his procession after realizing he was losing the fight. Tillman did what any unarmed human would do in that situation, he tried to run for his life, but unfortunately it was too late," Huey's voice grew more agitated.

"Freeman, there is no evidence indicating that it was premeditated. The phone conversation was actually in Williams' favor because it showed that he was an honest man. He acknowledged his mistake and made an effort to rectify it, but Tillman had other plans. Witnesses who knew Tillman his whole life, even said he was always hot-tempered. Tillman came to Williams with the intention to fight because he was frustrated that he had to wait so long. "Tristan stated.

Nina and Sebastian were awkwardly standing while their fathers continued their heated discussion. Sebastian was prepared to try to diffuse the situation, but his mother's gentle voice was heard.

"Hey.. What's all the fuss about? "

Jazmine's entry into the living room caused the room to go silent. Huey's eyes glowed as he centered his attention on her appearance. Her Cami dress, draped in dusty blue, made her look stunning. Her hair was arranged in a bun with loose curls hanging from the front and sides of her face. Her makeup was minimal, resulting in a natural appearance.

They locked eyes for a moment until Sebastian's voice was heard.

"Mama, you won't believe this. Dad and Mr. Freeman have history, "Sebastian said excitedly.

Jazmine widened her eyes in shock. 'Really? How is that? " She said, stunned by what she heard.

"Do you remember when I took a case in Chicago? " Tristan asked her.

Jazmine gave a slight nod. "Yes, a black construction company owner murdered his former employer in self-defense. Didn't you win the case? She remembered.

Tristan grinned. "Yes, I did. And Huey Freeman was the district attorney in that case,"

"Oh...my." Jazmine was completely astonished. With concern, she glanced at Huey. "Mr. Freeman. I'm sorry about your case. I'm sure you put up a good fight,' she said on the bright side.

"I appreciate that, Ms. DuBios," He said kindly. He exhaled as he changed the subject. "These are for you,'' he said as he presented the rose banquet to Jazmine, who was taken aback.

'Awe, you shouldn't have,' she said, accepting them, ,

"I wanted to show my appreciation for last night," Huey said, looking at her with intense desire. Jazmine blushed as the events of "last night" occupied her mind.

Tristan watched as the two of them closely interacted over the flowers. He became jealous because he could see the attraction in their eyes.

"Thank you so much! They're so beautiful, "Jazmine said as she brought them to her nose to inhale the fresh scent.

You're beautiful, Huey wanted to say, but instead he stared at her lovingly,

"You're welcome" he replied.

"Freeman, who would have known we shared the same taste, " Tristan remarked.

Huey's eyes darted towards him as he continued.

"Those roses were the exact ones that I used to buy for Jazmine on our anniversary. "He mentioned. "However, Instead of purchasing a dozen roses, I would opt for a deluxe box that contains 100 roses. I have always gone above and beyond for my lady. Isn't that right, honey bun? " Tristan said while wrapping his arms around Jazmine's shoulder.

Honey bun? Huey's eyes moved to the spot where Tristan's hand rested on Jazmine's shoulder.

Nina and Sebastian exchanged glances while Jazmine responded awkwardly

'Mhm', Jazmine said, nodding slowly.

Huey didn't know what to be more upset about. The fact that his old work rival was Jazmine's ex-husband, or the fact that he was touching and flirting with Jazmine in front of him. That above and beyond remarked pissed him off the most. He made more than enough to give Jazmine whatever she desired. He didn't need to brag he would have given her the world.

Jazmine, on the other hand, desired to disappear. She was feeling extremely embarrassed. Her ex-husband was being too touchy again. Not to mention. He referred to her as 'Honey Bun', a nickname he gave her during their marriage. He had the audacity to boast about how much more he spent on roses. She observed the fury in Huey's face. She knew if she didn't break the tension, all hell would break loose.

The exchange between Mr. Byrant and her father caused Nina to gulp deeply. She nudged Sebastian and whispered, 'Quickly say something'.

Sebastian lightened his throat before speaking.

"Before you proceed with your story, Dad, I want to introduce my fiance, Nina Freeman," Sebastian mentioned that, which caught Tristan's attention.

As he approached Nina, Tristan glanced at her and smiled. 'Oh, Where are my manners,' he said. "Hello Nina, I have heard so much about you. You are already aware of this, but I'm Tristan Byrant, Sebastian's father. It's a pleasure to finally meet you," He spoke while shaking her hand in a friendly manner.

Nina smiled brightly. "Likewise, it's a pleasure to place a name to a face. You look so much like Sebastian, " she said in amazement. Sebastian was literally his father's twin. The only thing that separated them was the fact that Tristan was obviously older. His complexion was slightly darker than Sebastian and he dressed more sophisticatedly.

"You mean he looks like me, "Tristan said with a grin. " Thank you, sweetheart. I can't say you look much like your father, but you are a very beautiful young lady," He complimented her.

"Thank you, Mr. Bryant. I think I favored my parents equally, but as you can see, I have my dad's eyes," Nina responded as Tristan laughed.

"It's a good thing you don't have his sense of humor.' He remarked as they both shared laughter. He glanced at Huey, who seemed to be ready to explode.

"Freeman, I hope there are no hard feelings. Despite the outcome, you really kicked my ass in that courtroom. ' He said truthfully.

I'd kick your ass now, Huey wanted to say, but instead he said.

"None taken. I never take business personally, that was a long time ago," The loss of that case took a toll on him, but he wasn't a sore loser.

"Exactly, it was just business. So what do you say we should let bygones be bygones? " He said, offering a handshake.

Huey looked at his hand as if it was covered in vomit, but then he saw Jazmine giving him a pleading look, so he gave in and shook Tristan's hand.

"Now that everything is good and dandy, could we eat now? " Sebastian asked randomly.

"Sure, baby. Would you mind escorting our guest to the table? " She asked. " Sure thing Mama" Sebastian said as he and Nina departed into the dinning area .

"I'm gonna put these in a vase,' she announced , referring to the roses in her arms. "Mr. Freeman, could you lend me a hand in the kitchen? Which caught Huey by surprise.

"Certainly, " he said as he was about to make his way to Jazmine, but Tristan prevented him from doing so.

"Nonsense Freeman. You're a guest. I'll help Jazmine. Why don't make yourself at home, "Tristian said with a smirk.

Huey was annoyed by this, but he had to be polite. "Your hospitality is appreciated, Bryant, but you're also a guest. The lady of the house requires my assistance, so I'll take it from here," Huey said, glaring at him as he was not backing off.

He and Tristan had a face off. Jazmine noticed this and spoke up. "Actually, if you don't mind, Tristan, I need Mr. Freeman's input on the side dish I made, given that he's a vegetarian like myself"

Tristan jaw tightened as he recalled that she mentioned Nina's father was a vegetarian. , "Alright then," He stated, giving in. He gazed at Jazmine, licking his lips. "But don't keep me waiting Honey bun, You know a hungry man is not a happy one,' he said, winking at her.

Jazmine heard Huey laugh a little but it wasn't a happy one it was one if those laughs he does when he becoming really angry.

"Mr. Freeman the kitchen is this way" she announced as she beckoned him to followed after her.. " he complied as he couldn't wait to get a word with her.

When they arrived in the kitchen, Jazmine took the flower vase and filled it with water. The roses came with a packaging that was required to be placed in the vase. As she was going into the drawer to use the scissors to open the packaging, Huey grabbed her wrist.

"We need to talk," Huey said in a serious tone.

"Would you mind lowering your voice?" She whispered.

"Fine, I'll lower my voice," He spoke while lowering his voice.

"Is there anything going on between you and your ex-husband that I need to know about? "He asked, getting straight to the point.

Jazmine scoffed. "Of course not. Nothing is going on" She denied.

"I find that hard to believe " Huey said in disbelief.

"Oh For the love of God Huey, he's married!" Jazmine exclaimed.

"Seems like he still thinks he's married to you, " Huey remarked. Jazmine rolled her eyes in denial . "Jazz, I don't like the way he talks to you. And If he refers to you as 'honey bun' one more time, I swear I'm gonna-"

"Huey.. " Jazmine said, squeezing his hand. "Please behave. I promise when this night is over, I will have a talk with him about boundaries, but you have to promise me that you won't let anything he says or does get to you,"

Huey exhaled sharply out of frustration.

'Please, baby' Jazmine begged with a look he couldn't resist.

"Fine, I won't react," He said as Jazmine sighed in relief. "But if he does anything to disrespect you, don't expect me to let that shit slide,"

"Okay But remember you don't want to do anything to get us caught up" Jazmine reminded him.

"I know. I won't baby,' he said. "By the way, you look damn good in that dress," Huey huskily said, biting his bottom lip.

"Look, if you may, but don't you dare touch" Jazmine said teasingly, backing against the counter.

"Touch what? " He grabbed and squeezed her ass, making her gasp. "This."

"Huey.. You better stop before someone catches us, Jazmine said in a panic. She felt the heat between her thighs.

"I just want some sugar that's all" He said before placing his tongue in her mouth..

Meanwhile...

Nina and Sebastian were retelling the story of how they met Tristan when he noticed that Jazmine and Huey were taking a bit too long in the kitchen.

"Hold that thought, sweetheart. I'm gonna see what's taking them so long," Tristan said as he stood up from the table.

Sebastian shouted 'Dad! ' With a frantic tone. 'I'll check on Mama,' he said as Tristan looked at him confusedly.

"I just want you to hear the rest of the story. Mama and Mr. Freeman already heard it, and I doubt they want to hear it again," He explained.

Tristan laughed. 'Alright, son.' Go ahead, get your mama then,' he said as he sat back down.

Nina looked concerned. Sebastian sounded a little jittery when he spoke.

'I'll be back,' he told her before proceeding towards the kitchen. As he got closer, he could slightly hear movement in the kitchen.

What were they doing in there?

He heard mumbling followed by his mother giggling, but he couldn't pick up what was being said. Suddenly, a loud noise erupted.

SLAP

It wasn't a typical slap, it sounded like a booty slap, and his mother followed by a gasp.

With his mind in the gutter, he announced

"Mama?" before him walking into the kitchen.

He was relieved to see that they weren't doing what he had assumed. Mr. Freeman was actually standing by the stove while his mother was by the sink, drying her hands with a paper towel.

She tucked her curls behind her ears and asked, "Is everything okay, baby?" He saw that her face was red. He was unable to determine if she was embarrassed about something or blushing, or both.

Mr. Freeman didn't say anything, but he had a smirk on his face.

"Sweetie?"

His thoughts were disturbed by his mother.

'Yes? ' He responded.

"Are you alright? "Jazmine asked in a shaky voice.

Her voice was filled with nervousness.

"Yes, Mama. Dad wanted to know if dinner was ready. " Sebastian said as he had this bad feeling in his stomach.

"Yes, dinner is ready. I just needed Mr. Freeman's opinion on a dish I made, "Jazmine said.

"Oh okay, "Sebastian said, trying to read the room.

" Mr. Freeman, was the tofu to your liking? " She asked Huey randomly, referring to the Tofu Katsu Curry she made for him.

"Yes, it's delicious. Thank you," Huey replied, playing along.

Jazmine smiled. "You're welcome. I also made some rice to go with it which should be about done," she explained.

"That sounds good to me," He responded. "I'm going to check on Nina. Do you need any help with anything else? "He spoke while gazing at her with lustful eyes.

"No, thank you, Mr. Freeman. I got it from here, "she said, blushing a little.

Sebastian perceives the flirtation between them. He didn't pay any mind at first, but now it was beginning to worry him, especially since he knew his father still had feelings for his mom. He was uncertain about the dinner's outcome, but he hopes his father and Mr. Freeman don't engage in an argument.

Some time later...

While everyone was seated at the table for dinner, Sebastian was currently conversing about the engagement party. Tristan noticed that Jazmine and Huey were silent. Despite this, they kept stealing glances at each other. Whenever they would lock eyes, there was a glimmer in Jazmine's eyes that he had never seen before. Huey Freeman was like a hungry lion when he looked at her. There was no denying that he wanted her.

Although Jazmine claimed it was because they were both vegetarians, he still didn't like the idea of Jazmine making a special plate for him. It annoyed him when she served the Freeman's plate before him. It is common knowledge that the man of the house receives the first plate, and serving Freeman first signifies that she regards him as the man of the house.

That didn't seem right to him, particularly when they returned from the kitchen. Tristan couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off about them, and Sebastian's expression suggested that he had seen something he didn't want to see. Although he was uncertain about the situation, he was determined to uncover it.

Dinner seems to be going well, except that something troubling Tristan's mind about his ex-wife and Sebastian's future father-in-law. The way they locked eyes every now and then. The apparent attraction between the two was undeniable which raised his suspicion of them. Immediately he needed to seek answers.

"Freeman" Tristan randomly said as Huey looked at him with a glare. "My son has informed me that you encountered car trouble last night," he said , sipping his wine, "Something about an dead battery,"

"Yeah..What's your point" Huey said he didn't think it was his business.

"My point is, Freeman. To my knowledge, there is only one car rental location in WoodCrest, and as far as I'm concerned, they exclusively rent out new cars. I'm puzzled as to why you had to replace a battery on a brand-new vehicle. If there were any problems with the vehicle, they would usually send someone out to tow the damaged car and bring you a replacement," Tristan stated as the broke down car story did not add up to him.

Nina and Sebastian displayed some concern as they were worried about his response. Huey wasn't a fool, he knew exactly what Tristan was doing. The antics of lawyers are well-known to fellow lawyers. It was clear to him that Tristan was just trying to catch him in a lie. He caught sight of Jazmine, who was begging him with her eyes. He was cognizant of her expectation of him to behave, as she stated.

"I don't see how this is any of your business,' Huey said sternly. "But to answer your question, when I rented the car, I didn't think it was necessary to pay for roadside assistance because I wasn't planning a longer stay. I was unable to have the car towed or replaced, so I took matters into my own hands" Huey stated.

"I see. " Tristan nodded his head. " You didn't think to purchase the premium rental package. Or were you simply having money issues? "He remarked, while Huey's face hardened.

The firing of shots caused even Nina to take offense.

Huey kept his composure. "Money is not an issue Bryant As I previously stated I didn't believe it was necessary. What's important is that the problem was dealt with and resolved" Huey stated as he was getting ready to lose his patience.

"It seems like you have a valid point, Freeman. I must acknowledge that our priorities differ. I wouldn't dare to pay out of pocket for a vehicle that I didn't own. But to each own is the proper saying" Tristan said.

Huey scoffed" That's where you contradict yourself, Bryant. You indicated that you would not pay out of pocket for a vehicle you do not own. On the contrary, you also stated that if you were to rent a car, you would be responsible for paying any additional fees to have it repaired or replaced. " He said. Tristan had no words as Huey continued on

"But you're certainly right that our priorities differ. There's no way in hell I would ever divorce a woman who cooks as well as Ms. DuBois, but you're right to each own. " He said.

Nina looked in shock as she couldn't believe what came out her father's mouth. Jazmine looked down at her plate while slightly blushing, while Sebastian looked at his dad who was sitting with a tightened jaw.

Tristan didn't like that Huey used his divorce with Jazmine as a jab. He was offended, but he refuse to let The Freeman get under his skin so he laughed it off.

"Freeman, I must admit. I find your sense of humor quite enjoyable" He laughed. Huey, who didn't find anything amusing, exhibited a serious demeanor. Tristian smirked as he went on to say.

"In case you weren't properly informed.. Jazmine and I mutually decided to end our marriage, and now we have a very healthy friendship, " He stated while Huey looked at him with doubt.

"And You're right. Jazmine is an excellent cook. I consider myself lucky because I can always expect a cooked meal when I come here. In fact. She took care of me real good this morning, didn't you, honey bun? "He spoke while licking his lips and turning his attention towards Jazmine, who was visibly embarrassed.

She glanced over at Huey, who seemed like he was prepared to commit murder. It was clear to her that she had to say something quickly!

"Yes, but don't feel special, Tristan. Any guest who enters my home is taken care of. " Jazmine remarked.

Tristian had a comment on the top of his tongue regarding her taking care of the Freeman when his car broke down, but he decided against it.

"I see,' he said, glaring at Huey as he gulped down the whole glass of his wine.

Tristan continued to talk about his appreciation for Jazmine's hospitality while pouring himself another glass, which would be his third.

Nina made use of this opportunity to send Sebastian a text. Is it me or is your father constantly flirting with your mom and attacking my dad who btw is surprising handling it well!

Without anyone noticing, Sebastian texted back.

Nah, I peeped, but I think it's because my dad is jealous that your dad brought roses to Mama.

While texting back, Nina kept her phone under the table. I thought the roses were a bit much too, like I get he wants to thank her but with a banquet of roses! But tbh, my dad has been making progress lately, so I appreciate the effort even though it's over the top! & Why would your dad get jealous? Didn't you say he was married to another woman?

Sebastian carefully text back. He still has feelings for my mama.

Nina's eyes widened as she sent back the text. What! Are you Serious?

Sebastian: On God, but I'll tell you more about it later.

Nina was texting him back when she heard Tristan speaking to her.

"What do you have to say, Nina? "

"Um...I would say...," she said as she had no idea what to say as she wasn't paying attention.

She glanced at Sebastian for assistance, and he shrugged his shoulders in response. She looked at her dad, who shook his head at her.

She was unaware that he was suggesting that she say no because he knew she couldn't hear Tristan due to texting.

Tristan, who seems to be patiently waiting for her response, along with Jazmine, looked at her.

She said with a hint of nervousness, 'I think it would be a great idea'.

Tristan smiled broadly. "Excellent, I guarantee you. it's going to be a great experience, " he said. "As a matter of fact, I still have the pictures from the wedding, " he said as he pulled out his phone. He appeared to be searching for the pictures.

The wedding? What wedding, she thought.

He still had our wedding pictures? Jazmine thought dreadfully. She assumed they were deleted from his phone by now.

Tristan grinned as he found the photo he was looking for " Here it is" he said as he presented his screen for Nina to see, including Huey.

Huey felt chills as he saw the picture

An old photograph was taken of Jazmine and Tristan at the altar. A magnificent garden was surrounded by beautiful flowers and trees, which were illuminated by fairy lights.

The scenery was beautiful, but it was Jazmine who stood out the most. She wore a sparkling mermaid wedding gown with lace crystal beaded sleeves. Her hair was long and elegantly braided in a French braid. She adorned her head with a princess tiara and a veil. Tristan looked exactly like Sebastian. He wore a suit that was in harmony with Jazmine's dress.

In hindsight, Huey felt as though someone was tugging at his heart as he recalled when he missed the opportunity to attend Jazmine's wedding. As he stared into the photo, he realized it was the very moment they said their I do's when the picture was taken. Holding hands, Jazmine and Tristan stared lovingly at one another.

Seeing how happy Jazmine was, he couldn't help but feel guilty for even considering taking her joy away.

It was evident that things turned out the way it did because he didn't deserve her.

Jazmine lowered her gaze sadly. The pain in Huey's eyes was too much for her to bear.

"Wow, you guys look amazing!"

Nina exclaimed, amazed by the photograph. "Oh my God! Sebastian, look at your parents! " She exclaimed. Sebastian moved to the other side of the table to view the photo.

He guffawed, 'Damn Dad, you look just like me. ' He said in a joking manner as Tristian laughed. "As usual, mama is looking fine as ever,"

"That I can agree on, "Tristian replied, earning a glare from Huey.

"Yes! She looks gorgeous. Her hair is amazing and the dress is to die for! "Nina exclaimed.

"The dress was actually from Dubai," Tristian informed. " I had it custom-made specifically for her,"

"Aww, that's so romantic, " Nina said. "Do you still have the dress? "She asked Jazmine, who had been silent the entire time along with Huey.

"No, I actually sold it during the final days of our divorce," Jazmine acknowledged while Tristan gazed at her with dismay.

"Yeah, that and my golf club sets," He mentioned it as Jazmine rolled her eyes.

"Wait. You sold his golf set? " Nina said held in the urge to laugh.

"Yes ma'am. For 25 cents, " Jazmine said.

"25 cent! That's really savage," Nina said while giggling uncontrollably. Even Huey couldn't help but grin.

"That wasn't one of my proudest moments, " Jazmine admitted.

"I bet it wasn't. I love those gold clubs, " Tristan said as he still was upset about it.

"You mean the ones I kept calling you to pick up, yet you never returned my calls, " Jazmine stated.

"I was in the middle of a business trip," Tristan reminded her.

"Yeah, I know.. The business trip that involved you coming back engaged to another woman, "she said as she remembered that the business trip was actually spent with the woman he's currently married to. Despite her agreement to move forward with the divorce, it was still a painful experience for her. Hearing that he had moved on so quickly hurt her. She felt disrespected because the divorce wasn't even finalized, which made her feel like she was going through it alone.

Sebastian shook his head with dismay as he remembered seeing his mother break down in tears upon hearing the news that his father was engaged.

"I'm not gonna lie, Dad. You were dead wrong. " Sebastian remarked as he still hasn't forgiven his dad for that.

"I acknowledge that it was distasteful on my part, but I have repeatedly apologized to your mother for it," As he reflected on what Sebasrian had said in the car, he felt regret. To hear that Jazmine was crying over him made him feel guilty.

"I know Tristan and all was forgiven a long time ago" Jazmine said as she really didn't want to get into it.

Hearing that Jazmine had experienced heartbreak twice made Huey feel horrible. He didn't know Tristan reasons for leaving, but he knows that he regrets his. He yearns to be there for her during that time. He would have held on to her and never let go.

There was a long silence as everyone was in deep thoughts.

Jazmine, who felt overwhelmed, excused herself from the table. She began assembling all of the plates to clean them in the kitchen. Nina and Sebastian offered their assistance, leaving Huey and Tristan alone with their thoughts.

After the kids left the kitchen to aid Jazmine, Tristan asked Huey to join him for a drink near the backyard bonfire. Huey had a desire to check on Jazmine, but he was aware that it would look suspicious if he did.

They were currently having a man-to-man talk when Tristan said.

"Freeman, your daughter is a beautiful young lady. My son is going be a lucky man"

"I know, but if I were you, I would steer clear of my daughter, "Huey warned. "I know how much you like them, young,"

Tristan scoffed as he felt offended. "Freeman, don't be absurd. That has never crossed my mind. Besides, I only have eyes for one woman right now,"

'Must be nice', Huey said sarcastically as he could care less about Tristan's love life.

Tristan laughed, 'Oh, you have no idea. I had my eyes on her all night" He said, thinking of Jazmine. "You had your eyes on her too,"

"I beg your pardon, "Huey said as he realized he was referring to Jazmine.

"You heard me, Freeman. I know you want to fuck my ex-wife,' Tristan said with anger in his voice.

"Regardless of whether it's true or not, it's not your business" Huey said as he didn't deny it.

"That is my business if it involves my son, "Tristan stated.

"Bryant, your son is a grown ass man. It's not up to him or you to decide who his mother chooses to share her bed with," Huey declared.

"And quite frankly, the only woman you should be concerned about is your wife, "Huey stated.

Tristan shook his head while saying, 'My wife, my wife, my wife'. "

"My wife Diane has a tendency to compare herself to Jazmine frequently, particularly when she's angry with me. She says things like 'Your ex-wife is an old hag. I bet she can't do this or that, but in reality, she's intimidated by Jazmine."

" Don't get me wrong, Diane is a very attractive woman, she's great in bed, I'll tell you, but she's incredibly lazy. She doesn't like to clean. She can't cook worth a damn, but will start a whole argument from scratch," He said laughing at his own joke. Huey remained silent. It was obvious to him that Tristan had a slight intoxication from drinking earlier. "I hired her solely because of her appearance, despite her lack of intelligence," He admitted.

"You're a fool to expect much from a 25-year-old, Huey remarked.

"You got that right, Freeman. I am a fool" He admitted which caught Huey by surprise. "I'm a fool for making the biggest mistake of my life," Tristan expressed with deep regret. "Because Jazmine and Sebastian were the best things that ever happened to me. And now I'm stuck trying to figure out how the hell do I get that old thing back,'.

Huey came to the startling realization that he and Tristan had more in common than he thought.

Just like him, he regretted leaving Jazmine and longed to get her back more than ever.

"I don't get it. If you consider her to be the best thing that has ever happened to you. What caused you to leave in the first place? " Huey inquired. Tristan's decision to leave Jazmine was a mystery to him. From what he had learned, Jazmine allowed him to sleep with other women while they were married. In the event that sex was the only essential quality Diane had. What is the reason for choosing her over a woman who could offer more?

It didn't make sense.

Tristan looked at him with a glare. "I should be asking you the same question, Freeman"

"What do you mean by that? " Huey asked firmly.

Tristan chuckled as he was a bit hesitant about what he was going to reveal. " I don't know who the hell do you think you're fooling, but you can't fool me Freeman. I know the truth, "He said.

"Stop talking in riddles and say what you have to say already, " Huey said, getting irritated.

"Jazmine's nickname 'Honey Bun' is actually a humorous story. " He brought up randomly as Huey looked at him confusedly.

Tristan began to laugh. "While I was in the act of fucking her, things became so intense that my dick started to moisten, " he said, licking his lips. As he reminisced. "Next thing I knew, her ass was glistening. I remember thinking to myself. It looked just like delicious glazed honey Bu-" In the heat of the moment, Huey grabbed him by his collar, which resulted in his sentence being cut short.

"You fucking bastard, I'll kill you. " Huey roared with anger through gritted teeth. He didn't care that he was out of line. He was unable to tolerate Tristan's sexual remarks towards Jazmine.

Tristan laughed in response to receiving the reaction he desired. "There's Huey Freeman, I know," he said as Huey let go of him.

"You don't know shit about me" Huey said in a deadly tone.

Tristan spoke while he fixed his collar.

"Oh... but I do" He said. "You're Jazmine's ex-lover," he revealed.

Huey closed his eyes and sigh deeply he was exposed.

"How long have you been privy to this information? "He questioned while remaining calm. He didn't want Tristan to believe he had the upper hand.

"I've been cognizant of this for quite some time" Tristan admitted. "Jazmine never mentioned you before, but during our marriage, I've noticed that she would have these frequently episodes where she would distance herself from me. She would be sad for days, and whenever I would ask her what was wrong, she would just cry, "

"It wasn't until I had a talk with her mother that she revealed to me that the episodes began when an ex-boyfriend from the past broke her heart," Tristan recounted causing Huey to feel a knot in his throat.

"Out of curiosity, I conducted a background check and found out that you were living in the suburban neighborhood of Lincoln Park, Chicago. I was informed that you were married with a daughter and ranked among the top district attorneys in Chicago," Tristian revealed

Huey brows furrowed as he couldn't believe his ears.

"It came to my attention that my wife was still upset about the breakup and needed some closure. My foolishness led me to believe that if I met you and found out what happened, I could possibly convince you give her the closure she needed to mend her broken heart. However, Once I arrived, my fear took over and my plans changed. I was afraid that if she see you again, I would lose her and I wasn't willing to take that chance. " He admitted.

Huey was taken back with this information. "Wait.. Why did you end up being assigned to my case if you were only in Chicago to meet with me? " He inquired suspiciously.

Tristan smirked. " To put it simply, I desired justice,"

"Justice?" Huey asked.

"Justice for breaking my wife's heart. Due to my inability to give her the closure she required. I had the notion that I could get even, so I made some phone calls and pulled some strings. Before I knew it, I was assigned to the Jackson case. " He elucidated, while Huey glared at him with disgust.

Huey exclaimed, "You've got to be fucking kidding me. You did all that so you could get revenge for a breakup that had nothing to do with you"

Tristan shook his head. 'Freeman, have you been listening to me? My whole marriage to Jazmine was affected by that break-up. She was in such a broken state that she would frequently suffer from depression. I admit it was crazy on my part , but that's the nature of me, Freeman. I was willing will do everything for the woman I love" he confessed.

Huey retorted, 'If you were willing to do anything for Jazmine, you wouldn't have abandoned her the way you did. You basically took advantage of her. Not only did you disrespect her, but you also disrespected your son by sleeping with multiple women. I may have broken her, but as her husband, you were supposed to honor and protect her, and you failed to do so. You were aware of her broken state, yet, you did everything in your power to make it worse" Huey called him out.

Tristan remain silent as his jaw tightened.

"My point is Freeman. I'm uncertain as to why you both chose to keep your previous relationship a secret, but bear in mind that the emotional well-being of my son and your daughter is involved. "He reminded him.

"I'm cognizant of that, which is why Jazmine and I made the decision not to disclose it to the children. We're choosing to leave the past behind us, " as Huey tried to save face.

Tristan laughed " I find that hard to believe. I am certain that you desire Jazmine, and I strongly advise you to steer clear of her. '' He said while his fury overtook him.

"Or what? " Huey said harshly. He took a few steps forward so that he was facing Tristan. "Bryant, what you fail to realize is that if I wanted to, I could fuck her, and there wouldn't be anything you could do about it because she isn't your property. "

"Like I said, Freeman," Tristan's eyes were threatening, "Stay the fuck away from her. What Jazmine and I had was real. We experienced things that are beyond your imagination. We faced challenges together, we aged together. We supported one another in our careers. We built our house and formed a family. Your relationship with her was nothing more than puppy-love, but it's past its peak. "Huey took offense to Tristian's remarks.

He didn't like that Tristian referred to his relationship with Jazmine as puppy love. He and Jazmine were best friends who basically grew up together and fell in love. He may have missed out on the milestones of an adult relationship which was a hard pill to swallow. And maybe their relationship had run its course, but his love for her still remains.

"Freeman, what do you anticipate your daughter's response will be when she discovers that you are more interested in fucking her mother-in-law than getting to know her future husband? "Tristan reminded him.

"My daughter is not your concern, " Huey said angrily.

"But my son is my mine and I'm certain he wouldn't approve of you riding his mother" Tristan said firmly.

Huey scoffed, 'What you won't do it, someone else will'" he said, which made Tristan more angrier. Their eyes were pierced with daggers as they glared at one another.

All hell was ready to break loose until a voice was heard.

"Dad?"

Nina looked at them with concern as they both turned around.

Huey eyes mellowed as responded to Nina. "Is everything alright, Princess? " He spoke softly.

She gave a nod, "I was going to ask you the same question, Dad," referring to her father and Mr. Bryant having a stare-down.

"Everything's fine, sweetheart," Huey stated, 'Mr. Bryant and I were just having a discussion about an old case.'

'Oh,' she commented, imagining the intensity of that conversation.

"Your father informed me that he had to end the evening," Tristian suddenly chimed in.

"Dad, you were leaving already?" Nina asked with disappointment.

"I'm afraid Mr. Bryant had too much to drink tonight because I'm not going anywhere," He spoke, directing a cold gaze at Tristan.

Tristan laughed it off , 'I must have misunderstood then,' he said, faking a smile for Nina.

Nina laughed awkwardly as she didn't know what to say.

Tristan cleared his throat. "Do you know where your future mother-in-law is? I need a word or two with her, " he mentioned.

"She's in the kitchen with Sebastian" She confirmed.

"Thank you, sweetheart," Tristan said with a smile before leaving to go find Jazmine.

Huey was determined to follow behind, but Nina's presence prevented him from making it evident. With them alone, she gazed at him with worried eyes.

"Dad, are you sure you're okay? You look like you're ready to commit murder or something," She mentioned it.

I am, he thought.

"I'm fine, things got a little heated during my discussion with Mr. Bryant, " he said, referring to the conversation about Jazmine.

"I bet you guys take that lawyer thing seriously. 'Nina remarked as Huey chuckled at her.

"So what are your overall thoughts on Mr. Bryant? " She asked out of nowhere.

"I'd rather not say it, but I will say this: It's a good thing Sebastian's personality takes after his mother," Huey remarked.

"Jazmine is growing on you. I mean, you have to really like her to buy her a banquet of roses," She mentioned, feeling slightly worried that her father might have a thing for Jazmine.

"I wouldn't say I like her. I hardly know the woman. However, I acknowledged that she's a decent woman, and I appreciated her help last night," He said, thinking of when they made love.

Nina raised her eyebrows. " What exactly did she help you with? I mean, I know your car broke down but I doubt she knows anything about cars" she questioned.

This caught Huey off guard a bit.

"To begin with, she was kind enough to allow me to stay in her house while I made phone calls to the rental car company. During this time, she treated me with true hospitality. She even went as far as offering me a room to stay in, but I declined. When she requested a ride to my hotel, " he lied as he knew the only help he received was releasing stress from their hot sex.

Nina smiled, "Awe, that's sweet," she said. " I'm glad things worked out, you know,"

Huey kissed Nina forehead as he felt guilty for lying to her "Me too princess"

While Nina went to check on her father, Sebastian took this opportunity to confront his mom about some questions he had lingering his mind regarding strange behavior he noticed between her and Mr. Freeman.

"Mama, 'he said as he approached her.

'Yes, dear,' Jazmine said as she turned to face him.

Her eyes were filled with worry as she gazed at him. Sebastian gulped deeply and struggled to gather the words out of his mouth.

"'Ma, I', he paused for a moment, however he decided against it, "I've decided to give Dad another chance" he mentioned.

Jazmine smiled happily , 'That's great, baby! ' she said, caressing his face.

"But I just want you to know that I haven't forgotten what he did to you. I told him it's going to take some time for me to forgive him for hurting you,"!Sebastian said truthfully.

"Aw, sweetie, don't worry about me. The most important thing is that you have taken the first step towards forgiveness, but it takes time. " Jazmine expressed. "I'm proud of you. " Her tears flowed as she spoke. "Your father and I are so lucky to have you as a son"

"Come on now, Mama. Don't start crying, then I'll feel bad," He groaned as he gave his overly sentimental mother a hug.

Their moment was interrupted Tristan stormed into the kitchen like a mad man.

"Son, step in my office for a second"

Sebastian pulled away from his mother and walked over to his dad, who clung to his arm around his neck.

"'Hey champ,' he said as he watched Jazmine, who looked suspicious with her hands on her hip. He gave her a look that told her to mind her business, and she rolled her eyes as she turned her focus back on those dishes.

"Dad wassup?" He said awkwardly as he felt like his dad was manhandling him. "Listen up son, I want you to convince Nina to ask Mr. Freeman if he could drop you guys off to the movies tonight" He requested.

"The movies? Dad we're not-' He said, but Tristan slipped a couple of hundred -dollar bills into his hand. "I need some alone time with your mother, "he whispered.

Sebastian's eyes widened as he realized what was happening. He said, 'Oh,' but then he scowled at his father. "You're not trying to do nothing crazy with Mama, are you? " He asked suspiciously.

Tristan laughed hysterically. "Of course not, son. I just want to discuss some things with her," he explained.

Sebastian stared at him with disbelief. "Alright, let me go ask her now,"

"Thanks, son. " Tristan said with a grin.

"Yeah, no problem, Dad. " Sebastian said before he left to find Nina.

As soon as Sebastian left, Jazmine stopped pretending to wash dishes.

" Tristan, where did you send my son to" She inquired with suspicion.

"Relax. Our son and his fiancé are going to the movies, and I was wondering if you and I could have a quick chat," Tristan mentioned as he gazed at her curvy figure.

"Whatever you have to say, you can say it now, Tristan," Jazmine spoke in a stern tone.

"Not with guests in the house, " he said, referring to the Freeman. "Until then, I'll be in my old study room. "Cut me a slice of that sweet potato pie too," he requested, grabbing the entire whiskey bottle and a glass to take with him.

"Don't you think you had enough to drink for the night? "Jazmine remarked.

Tristan shrugged , 'A little whiskey won't hurt,' he said before leaving the kitchen.

Jazmine sighed, the night is going to be long.

As if things couldn't get any more complicated, Huey entered the kitchen with a look of fury.

"Is there something wrong, Mr. Freeman? "Jazmine endeavored to remain in character.

Huey proceeded towards her.

"Nina just asked me if I could drop her and Sebastian off at the movies. "He mentioned. "Something up"

"What do you mean? " Jazmine asked.

"I have a feeling that your ex-husband has something to do with it," Huey alleged.

"Why would he have anything to do with that? "Jazmine asked, confused, while Huey looked at her like she was crazy.

Then she thought of something. 'Wait... He did mention that he had something he wanted to discuss with me, but he never implied what it was about." She mentioned.

Huey's jaw clenched as he had a good feeling that he knew the subject of the conversation.

"Jazz, there's no way in hell I'm leaving you alone with him,' he said, feeling jealous.

Jazmine breathed a sigh. "Don't worry, I'll be fine. Tristan can be overbearing sometimes, but he is not a threat," She conveyed.

"I would say otherwise based on what I have just learned" Huey remarked.

"What do you mean Huey? " Jazmine said.

Huey gently held her shoulders while looking at her with a serious look. "Jazmine, he knows about our past," he said as her eyes widened.

'WHAT ! ' She shrieked.. Recalling the presence of the kids, she lowered her voice and nervously fidgeted with her fingers. 'How did he find out? ' She inquired.

"It's a long story, but he confronted me about it and questioned why we didn't tell the kids yet," Huey stated. He couldn't really get into the details. He believed that Tristian should tell Jazmine himself, but he wanted to give her a heads up about the situation.

"And what did you tell him? " Jazmine asked in a worried tone.

"I let him know that you and I have made the decision to leave the past behind us. But he didn't buy it, and he threatened me to stay away from you" Huey stated.

"Oh, my, " Jazmine said overwhelmingly. While deeply contemplating, she walked to and back from the sink. "Okay, I think it's best if I talk to him about it so that he doesn't tell the kids, and also, I need him to think that there's nothing going on between us,'' she said, thinking she had it figured out.

"I'm okay with you talking to him, but I'm not fond of you being alone with him," Huey said with a tone of anger.

"Why? Is it that you don't trust me? " Jazmine inquired.

Huey exhaled sharply. "No, it's him that I don't trust,"

"I understand, but I need you..."She smoothed out his tie. "To trust me"

"I don't know about of this Jazz" He said trying to ignore the heating of his chest.

She laid her hands on her chest and glanced up him with pleading eyes.

"Please?" She begged.

There she go giving him that look again.

"I can make it up to you later on tonight?" She suggested, making circular motion on his tie.

"Yeah?" He said he pulled her closer to him. He pressed his thumbs against the end of her hips. "Are you sure about that DuBois?" He murmured huskily in her ear.

Jazmine puckered her lips as he was turning her on.

With a submissive tone, she replied 'Yes'.

"Alright, but you better not keep me waiting too long or I might have to punish you. "He said aggressively

Jazmine's lip was bit down upon becoming wet. Her intention was to take her time so he could punish her later.

While he was squeezing her ass, he whispered to her, "You heard me, woman?"

"Yes, I hear you baby. Now stop before we get caught," She blushed. She feared that Tristan or the kids would catch them in the act.

"Not until I get a taste of those sexy lips," Huey said in demand.

They were within inches of kissing, but then they heard

"Dad!"

Nina's entry into the kitchen, caused them to abruptly separate," Dad, are you ready? The movie is starting soon. Is everything okay? " She said as she noticed the awkwardness in the room.

"Everything's fine, Nina. I wanted to announce my departure and thank Ms. Dubois for dinner, " Huey explained.

"Oh, okay,' she said while keeping a thought to herself. '

"So are your kids heading out again? " Jazmine asked, breaking her silence.

"Well, Sebastian decided at the last minute that he wanted to go to the movies, so I asked Dad if he could drop us off on his way to the hotel. We didn't want to take the car because the theater is downtown and there is no parking," Nina explained.

"That's fine, sweetie. Are you guys planning to come back home or will you be staying with your uncle?" Jazmine asked.

"We're taking an uber back home " Nina said, smiling at the way she said it.

"Okay, and where is Sebastian now?" Jazmine politely asked

"Dad told him to warm up the car," Nina said. Jazmine knew he only told him to do that to distract him.

"Oh okay, well I'm not going to hold you guys up. Enjoy the movie, be safe, and please tell Sebastian to call me when the movie is over," Jazmine said.

After a brief hug, Nina said, 'Okay, and see you later, Jazmine.'

"Yes, see you later, sweetie. Have a good night, Mr. Freeman,' she said, directing her attention towards Huey.

"Same to you, Ms. DuBois," Huey responded without taking his eyes off her. "Thank you again for having us"

"You're very welcome, " Jazmine said, locking her eyes with his.

Great they were flirting again, Nina thought as she slightly rolled her eyes.

"Dad, I don't mean to rush, but the movie literally starts in 5 minutes. Can we please go now? " Nina said impatiently.

"Okay, sweetheart, " Huey said calmly.

"Um sweetie, Do you have the house keys on you? "Jazmine asked Nina.

"Yes, Sebastian has it, "Nina replied.

"Good, I'll walk you guys to the door," She announced, escorting Huey and Nina out. As Nina made her way towards the car. Huey paused to glance at Jazmine once more.

"If he tries anything, don't hesitate to call me,' he said seriously.

'Good night Mr. Freeman,' she said, dismissing him.

He glared at her, but then proceeded to say. "Goodnight, Ms. DuBois, "he said before walking away.

Jazmine sighed while shutting the door. She knew Huey wasn't happy about her being alone with Tristan.

In regards to Tristan, where was he? She wondered. Then she remembered that he mentioned that he would be in his old study room.

She was determined to find him so she could discuss his knowledge of her past relationship with Nina's father. Her intention is to convince him that there was nothing going on between her and Huey and that he won't reveal it to the children.

The sound of old jam music was heard by Jazmine as she approached the door of her ex-husband's former study room. Tristan always kept an old record player in his office, which she assumed was the source of the music.

"Tristian? " Jazmine knocked on the door twice before walking in. Upon entering, she was taken aback to see that he was not near his desk. Instead, she was met with a empty wine glass, along with a half-emptied bottle shattered on the floor.

Jazmine sighed deeply as she walked over to clean up the mess that was left, before she had a chance to make another move. A pair of strong hands groped her waist, startling her.

"Tristan!," She gasped as she instantly knew it was him due to the smell of his cologne.

"Yes, Honey Bun,'' he replied while hugging her close.

'Tris-' she said, struggling to speak. The warmth of his alcoholic breath was pressing against her ear as he whispered, 'I've been dying to get you alone.'

The shivering in her spine was accompanied by discomfort. It's been years since her ex-husband has touched her in this way.

Jazmine separated herself from him and turned to face him. "Tristan, it's clear that you're drunk right now , "she fussed.

"It's clear that you're sexy as fuck, " he said, licking his lips at her. " Tell me, Bun, did the guest leave yet? "He asked randomly.

"Yes, and as a matter of fact, I think it's time for you to leave too," Jazmine said firmly with her arms crossed.

Tristan laughed as he walked towards the record player. She could immediately detect the wiggle in his walk as evidence of his high level of intoxication.

'Tristian, I mean it, you really have to go,' Jazmine said more firmly. He paid her no mind as he changed the record and put on another song, one that was very familiar to them.

"Their song" was playing and Tristian immediately began singing.

"Let say together," he said mimicking Al green's whisper. "I'm.." he sang. "I'm so in love with you"

'Oh lord,' Jazmine rolled her eyes as he strolled towards her while singing.

"Whatever you want to do

Is all right with me

Cause you make me feel so brand new

And I want to spend my life with you" he sung.

As he approached her, he grabbed her waist and forced her to dance with him, rocking her body back and forth .

"Tristan that's enough," she said, slapping his hands away.

'You don't remember?' He suddenly asked.

"Remember what?" Jazmine said in a irritated tone

"This is the song we conceived Sebastian to, "he whispered

Jazmine was silent for a moment.

It was true that she and Tristan made love to this song during their honeymoon, which was around the time she became pregnant.

"Tristian. That was the past, you're with Di-" she tried to say but then Tristian began singing again but in a louder tone.

"Oh baby

Let's, let's stay together, loving' you whether, whether" He snapped his fingers and attempted to do a spin but ended up on the floor instead.

'AH...FUCK! ' He cursed.

Jazmine sighs and rushes over to him. 'Are you okay? ' She said, trying to help him up.

""I'm Fineeeeeeeee," he said, standing up. He adjusts the creases in his suit jacket. "Like you," he said with a smile.

After inspecting him, Jazmine noticed that he was bleeding. It's probable that he fell on a piece of glass from the whiskey bottle.

"You're bleeding, " she said in a concerned tone.

He grasped the spot where the blood was and glanced at his hand. "A little blood doesn't hurt," he said carelessly

"Tristan, You need to get that clean before it gets affected, " Jazmine instructed, her inner nurse coming out.

"Jazzzzzzzzzz, I'm okay, "Tristian said with a slurred voice.

"No you're not. Come on now, " she said, urging him to follow. "There's a first aid kit in the guest bedroom, " she stated. Her reference was in the bedroom that Tristian designed exclusively for his study area.

He grinned as he followed her to the guest bedroom. 'Taking things to the bedroom, I see,' he said excitedly.

Jazmine disregarded his remarks. Upon entering the guest bedroom, she was reminded of the nights Tristan spent there during their open marriage.

It use to hurt her that he couldn't even sleep in the same bedroom as her.

"This is nice," he randomly upon entering, as if he hadn't played a role in designing the room.

"Sit, " she demanded, pushing him which caused him to fall onto the hed.

"That's what I'm talking about. Take charge, baby," Tristian said flirtatiously.

Jazmine left to retrieve the first aid kit. When she returned, she sat the kit down and began gathering the supplies.

Tristan eventually sat up, he licked his lips at her.

"Now what? " He inquired curiously.

"Now I'm going to clean the wound, then I'm going to call you a cab home. That's what" she said sternly. She began cleaning his wound which was a small cut on his ear.

He winced. 'Ah, shit! that burns.' He complained.

"Oh hush. It's just a little sting" Jazmine said carelessly.

Tristan furrowed his brow at her. "Easier for you to say, " he said, while she ignored him.

Tristian was a big baby when it came to being sick or injured. Even the slightest cuts were taken care of by Jazmine. That's how dramatic he was.

While she bandaged him up, he couldn't help but stare at her in admiration.

It was like he was noticing her for the first time. The way her face softened as she concentrated, and there was no sign of wrinkles on her face. Like the sun beam, her radiant skin shone.

She was the embodiment of a goddess.

"You should be alright now," she said after finishing.

He chuckled. "Wait.. So you're not going to ride me?

"The only thing riding you is that cab driver," She remarked.

"Come on Jazz. You know you miss this big dick, Tristan said, grabbing his groin. "He misses you too. Especially when you used to squirt on it, he said, exposing his hard member to her.

"Ew. Gross, "Jazmine said in disgust as she looked away. "Keep your dick in your pants!"

Tristian laughed as he tucked his member back in. "You know you like what you see" He said cockily.

"I'm positive that your wife wouldn't be pleased with this behavior from you, Tristan" Jazmine reminded him.

"My wife can't put it on me like you do Jazz, "Tristian said, truthfully.

"You never complained before, in fact, you made that clear when you left to be with her," Jazmine remarked, getting a little upset.

"I know I've hurt you in the past. Let me make it up to you. " Tristian urged Jazmine to come to bed with him. 'Jazmine, please let me put it on you tonight,' he said more desperate.

"No Tristian. You don't know what you're saying, you're drunk. " She said, excusing his behavior.

"You know a drunken mind speaks a sober heart, 'Tristian remarked.' "Truth be told. I want you back Jazz," he said as his eyes glazed.

Jazmine looked taken back as his eyes appeared to be ready to cry, but then she knew well that a drunk person's eyes often become red and teary, so she didn't pay it any attention. It was clear that Tristian was not thinking clearly.

"I'm going to go get you a glass of water and some aspirin. You need to be hydrated and you're going to have a headache soon" she explained, ignoring his previous statement.

"Jazmine!"" He called out but she walked away.

When she returned, he was stretched out on the bed. Jazmine rushed over to him as she thought he may have passed out.

"Tristan?", she smacked his cheek a little, causing him to open his eyes.

"You have to stay up or you'll get a concussion, "she warned him. "Sit up, "she said while he groaned.

"Do I have to? " He groaned. He sounds like their son when he didn't want to get up for school.

'Yes, sit up please,' she said as he followed her instructions. She placed a couple of pillows behind him to enable him to sit up properly. She gave him a cool bottle of water and an aspirin to take.

"Thanks, honey bun" He managed to say.

"I'm going to arrange for a taxi for you right now. I'm looking for your phone, where is it? " Jazmine asked. It would have been easier to request him a Uber ride but Tristan was old fashioned. He never liked the of transportation apps even when they were younger.

"It's in the study, "he replied.

Jazmine left to retrieve his cell phone that was sitting on his desk. The phone vibrated repeatedly, indicating that someone was constantly sending him texts. The phone was locked so she couldn't see it was.

Upon her return to the room, Tristian was holding his head as though he was already having a headache.

"May I?" She said asking for permission to use his phone.

"Sureee,' he said, slowly dragging his words.

She used his face recognition to unlock the phone. Initially, she intended to call cab services, but she accidentally opened a text message from Diane.

There were a handful of angry text messages, one of them being particularly agitated.

Diane: Really? I called you 100 times! You know you see me calling! You must be occupied with that elderly woman. Ask that old hag, ex-wife of yours how my pussy taste!

Elderly woman?

Old hag?

Jazmine's blood boiled as she stared at Diane's text. This woman had no reason to show such disrespect when she had never done anything to her before. She haven't even met her before. Jazmine was ready to text her back with a piece of her mind, but had to remind herself that it wasn't her phone.

It wasn't her place to text that woman, and it would only raise her suspicion if she texted on Tristian's phone. Honestly, she didn't want to create any further issues for them. She understood Diane's current state of mind because she was once the lonely wife at home.

"Is something wrong, honey bun? " Tristan asked in a concerned tone.

She handed him his phone. "Your wife is trying to reach you. You should call her. Let her know that I'm returning you to the sender" Jazmine said with a hard tone.

She couldn't help but wonder if these insults Diane threw at her were somehow influenced by Tristan himself.

Tristan carelessly tossed the phone on the bed.

"Forget about her, there's something I need to say to you, "Tristan said as he got up to approach her.

"What can you possibly have said to me, Tristan? "Jazmine said, concealing the fact that she was feeling hurt at the moment.

With affection, Tristan looked at her. "Jazmine, I...still Lo..-" In the middle of his sentence, he gagged and felt vomit in his throat. He immediately covered his mouth and sped to the bathroom where he vomited in the toilet.

'Fuck! ' He leaned over, feeling a headache.

Jazmine gently patted his back. "Tristan..

With a weak voice, he leaned over the sink and said, 'Yes?'

""You should take a bath," she suggested.

He flushed the toilet and looked up. "Why? What I stink or something? "He asked, turning his body around. His body began to ache as he leaned back against the toilet.

"Well, you certainly smell like liquor and vomit, but you should also take an epsom salt bath to help soothe the aching and detox from the alcohol in your system," she explained.

"Will you be joining me? " He said, looking up at her with excitement.

" Absolutely not," she said as she walked up to the tub and turned on the faucet. She ran the bath and added some epsom salt and lavender oil to the water.

"Come on Jazz, we always fucked in the bathtub, " He said, as he caught a glimpse of her backside as she bent over to mix the water with her hands.

While imagining their previous sexual life, he licked his lips.

"Mm..That's a whole lot of ass" He said, admiring her backside.

Standing up, Jazmine placed her hands on her hips.

"Tristan, would you please get in before the water gets cold? "Jazmine stated without acknowledging his remarks.

Tristan raised his chin with a sigh. "Fine, but you have to help me undress,"

"Last I checked, you were intoxicated, not disabled, Sir. You have the ability to undress yourself," Jazmine said.

Tristan laughed. 'You've developed a feisty personality over the years,'

"Tristan, tub! Now," She said more firmly.

'Alright, quit fussing,' he said as he stood up. He kicked off his shoes. He unfastened his belt and removed his pants. He stripped himself until he was boxers. He felt a smirk on his lips as he realized she was still in the bathroom.

"Oh, I get it. You wanted me to strip for you," He said playfully as he unraveled his tie.

Jazmine rolled her eyes at him. "Oh please. You don't have nothing to show me that I haven't seen already," Despite the fact that her ex-husband's nakedness in front of her made her cheeks slightly hot. Huey would lose his mind if he saw her right now.

Tristan chuckled while trying to remove his shirt, but he lost his balance and stumbled over, almost falling.

Jazmine sighed as she realized that she had to aid him.

She approached him and unbuttoned his shirt. While she focused on his shirt buttons, Tristan kept his eyes fixed on her.

Once he was completely naked, Jazmine lead him towards the tub and assisted him ensuring that he didn't fall.

As Tristan leans back into the tub, Jazmine shuts the toilet seat and sits down on it. As uncomfortable as it was for her. She wanted to ensure that he wouldn't drown.

"Tristian?" She said after a while.

'Hmm..." was his response, and he kept his eyes closed.

"I think it's best if I drive you home myself. " Jazmine suggested. Taking a cab while drunk with a complete stranger no longer seemed like a good idea to her.

As he felt relaxed, he remained silent.

"Tristian" Jazmine called on him. "Did you hear me?,"

He widened his eyes and said, 'Yes, bun, I heard you.' You want me to go home, but my home is with you.' He said.

Tristan's comment caused Jazmine to feel a little sad and became silent for a moment.

"No.. Not anymore. Your home is with Diane now..

Tristian squinted his eyes. "Who?"

Jazmine sighed, 'Nevermind Tristan. Just relax and get cleaned up," Talking to Tristan while he's drunk was like talking to a two-year-old.

Upon confirming her ability to leave him unattended, she left to find an appropriate outfit for him.

Although Tristian moved out six years ago, Jazmine kept the room the same because she always avoided it. It always evoked painful memories for her

She was able to locate one of his old suits after rummaging through his old closet. Tristian always had sophisticated taste, so even though she wanted something casual, he always wore well-fitted suits, formal dress shirts, trousers, chinos, or anything that appeared professional.

After gathering his clothes, she heard Tristian calling her urgently.

"Honey bun!"

Jazmine dashed over to find out what was all the commotion.

'Tris' she stopped in mid-sentence as Tristan, who managed to get out of the tub, stood in his naked glory.

He cockily responded, 'You're going to dry me off, or what?' She could tell the bath had sobered him up a bit.

As she shook her head in disgust, Jazmine grabbed a towel from the towel rack and tossed it at him.

"Dry yourself. Your clothes are in the bedroom,' she said before walking off.

She has seen too much of Tristan for the night.

While Tristian was getting ready, Jazmine went upstairs to change into an appropriate clothing . She didn't want to show up at Tristian's house wearing a cocktail dress, so she instead wore a black zip-up jumpsuit along with a gray plaid vest coat and ankle boots.

She attached her chain belt bag to her waist and stuffed her house keys inside it. She was in the process of retrieving her cell phone when she noticed it was lighting up, indicating that someone was calling.

She grabbed her phone and saw that Huey was calling her. Her heart sank as she felt like she was a teenage girl receiving a call from her dad.

With a soft tone, Jazmine answered the phone, 'Yes?'

"What are you doing?" He spoke in a demanding manner.

"Why Hello to you too, Huey. I'm in the process of getting ready to go outside,"

"And where the hell are you going at this time of night, Jazmine? "He questioned. "You better be bringing that ass to me,"

"Not quite yet. I'm going to take Tristan home to his wife since he is too intoxicated to drive," Jazmine explained.

"Why don't you just call him a cab and send him on his way? "Huey's voice was brimming with jealousy.

"That was initially the plan, but he's not in good shape and I don't feel comfortable sending him in a car with a stranger where he can possibly get robbed. I know you don't like it, but he's still Sebastian's father and I wouldn't feel right if something bad happened to him," Jazmine explained.

Huey was silent for a moment, which concerned her.

"Huey are you still there?" She asked.

"Yeah I'm here. I understand Jazmine,' he said calmly. Do you need me to go with you? "

"No, I don't want to cause any suspicion. I was planning on driving Tristan's car and then I was going to request a Uber ride to you"

"' Nah. Just send me his address. I'll pick you up from there, Huey said, as he didn't like the idea.

"Huey, I'll be fine taking the Uber " Jazmine assured him. " I promise I'll text you when I'm on my way okay? " She said, hoping he won't make a big deal.

She heard him sigh deeply.

"Fine. But keep in mind the events that will occur if you keep me waiting too long. ' He warned.

Jazmine clenched her lips because the thought made her feel horny.

"Did you hear me, woman? "He demanded.

'Yes, baby'. She said, turning him on.

"Yes baby what?" He said in a rough tone,

"I won't keep you waiting,. However, in case I do, don't hesitate to punish me in every way possible," she said seductively.

"You should be careful what you ask for, DuBois. You might end up getting something you can't handle, "Huey warned.

"What makes you think I can't handle it, Freeman? "Jazmine questioned.

Huey chuckled." Do you have any recollection of what happened last night? "

"Freeman, what transpired last night? " Jazmine said, challenging him.

"You know when you were clenching the sheets while I was hitting it from the back. " He recalled. " You kept begging me to stop. In fact, you even cried a couple of times. "He mentioned.

"Huey!" Jazmine said, turning red as Huey laughed at her.

"Yes beautiful ? " He said casually.

'Goodbye,' she said, hanging up on him.

He instantly text her

You're going to pay for that, DuBois.

Jazmine was nearly drooling while looking at his text message. It turned her on when he dominated her, especially in bed.

Jazmine focus. She thought as she went back to reality. The sooner she gets rid of her ex husband, the sooner she can see her man.

She smiled at the sound of Huey being her man. Even though it was not yet official, she still loved the idea. After putting her phone aside, she returned to Tristian who was fully dressed and laying on the bed again.

"Tristian get up this instant " she said, leaning over the bed to try to pull his arms up, but as soon as she did that Tristian grabbed her causing her to accidentally fall on top of him.

Which was exactly what he wanted.

As he groped her ass, he said, 'Come here, girl.'

Jazmine gasped as she pulled away from him.

"That's it, you're going home, sir! "Jazmine shouted.

"Jazz, come sit on this dick, "Tristian demanded.

"Tristian, get your act together and let's go, "Jazmine demanded.

"Where are we going?" He asked.

Jazmine sighed with frustration, but then she came up with an idea. . We have to pick Sebastian up from school,"

"Is 3 o clock already? "Tristan asked, slightly getting up.

"Yes. Can we leave now? I don't want him to be stuck outside in the cold,"

"Alright. Alright. " Standing up, he said, 'Let me grab my keys.'

"I have the keys here, "Jazmine said, showing him the car keys. "All you need to do is put your coat on and we can go,"

"Okay" Tristian replied.

After what felt like an eternity, Jazmine finally managed to get Tristian into the passenger seat of his car.

At first, he refused because he wanted to be the one to drive, but there was no way in hell she was letting him drive in his drunken state. After a short argument between them, Tristan relented and let Jazmine drive.

During the 45-minute drive, Tristan fell asleep in the passenger seat, leaving Jazmine alone with her thoughts.

The memory of her last drive with Tristan lingered in her mind.

Jazmine and Tristian sat in the waiting room of their marriage counselor's office.

Their counselor advised them to check in with her every 2 weeks since their open marriage to ensure they were on the same page, but Jazmine and Tristan have not been on the same page. Their communication has been minimal because Tristan has been spending more time with a specific woman than with his own wife. According to what her husband says. His relationship with a 20-year-old assistant was solely related to business. As their marriage became consensually non-monogamous, she had an instinctual feeling that there was something more.

The aim of their "open relationship" was to improve their sexual desire, communication, establish trust with one another, and, according to Tristian, discover themselves. Jazmine feels that open marriage is causing their marriage to fall apart, although they often put on a show for the counselor.

The number of nights she cried herself to sleep because she was missing intimacy with her husband is indescribable. The extended business trips.

The constant call and text messages that sends her husband away to work late. The scent of fruity perfume and hickeys that were not placed by her were on his neck.

Although it was upsetting, she kept her emotions to herself, however A couple weeks ago, Jazmine confronted him about his intentions. He assured her that this was a temporary situation and that he desired their marriage to improve. Whenever she asked when they could go back to their normal routine, he always said "soon" but never gave her a specific date.

Most recently, Jazmine had something she wanted to share with Tristan, something that has been pondering her mind for some time now. Considering her lack of courage to tell him on her own, she decided it would be better to discuss it with him in the presence of their marriage counselor.

Upon reaching out to their counselor and sharing her thoughts, the counselor informed her that Tristian requested to participate in a session because he also wanted to share something with Jazmine.

When Jazmine inquired about the nature of his request, the counselor informed her that he didn't elaborate any details, but she felt optimistic that it was something good because Tristan sounded cheerful on the phone.

Is it possible for them to finally be on the same page?

While considering that question, Jazmine also observed that Tristan has been more involved. He showed more patience. He presented her with flowers and initiated a conversation with her. He began to stay home for dinner more frequently. He even attended one of Sebastian's basketball games from his summer program. Jazmine received encouragement from this, and she had faith that he was ready to return to a monogamous marriage.

She had no idea that she was mistaken.

"My apologies, Mr. and Mrs. Bryant. Dr. Rochelle is a bit behind schedule today, but she will be here in 15 minutes. Could I offer you something to drink? Do you prefer a glass of water, a cup of tea, or coffee?,"The receptionist asked the couple.

Tristan looked at Jazmine, 'Would you like something to drink, honey bun?'

Jazmine gave a smile as it had been a while since he had called her that. "No, thank you, love, " she said with passion in her eyes.

He gave her a small smile and returned his attention back to the receptionist. 'No thank you, miss. We'll just wait here for Dr. Rochelle's arrival," He said in a polite manner.

The receptionist bowed her head. "No problem, if you have a change of heart, don't hesitate to ask.,"

"Certainly, " He said smiling back at her.

When the lady walked away, his smile dropped and he seemed a little uneasy about something.

Jazmine observed this and expressed concern, "Is everything alright?"

"Everything is fine bun," he said plainly.

Tapping his foot impatiently, he then turned to her.

"As a matter of fact, there's something I've been anticipating to tell you, " he said, holding her hands.

"But Love don't you think it would be best to wait until Dr. Rochelle arrives? " Jazmine asked.

Tristan shook his head. He rubbed her knuckles with tenderness as he said, "I'm afraid this can't wait"

His touch was warm enough to melt her heart. Even a slight touch from him had caused her heart to skip a beat since he hasn't touched her in a long time.

"Well since you mentioned it... There's something I have been waiting to tell you too, "Jazmine mentioned anxiously .

"Is that so? "He asked, but there was something unhinged about his tone.

Jazmine opened her mouth to speak, but suddenly hesitated. "Yea.. however, I prefer to hold off on discussing it until Dr. Rochelle arrives,"

"I understand that, but what I have to say can't wait any longer. Besides, It would be beneficial for us to express our concerns before Dr. Rochelle arrives to ensure we're on the same page," Tristian advised.

As soon as he said the words "same page', Jazmine knew that this had to be about them returning to monogamous status, which was what she had always wanted.

Jazmine gleefully smiled, 'I couldn't agree more baby,"

"Would you like to go first?, he asked calmly.

"No, I always go first. You can go first for a change," she suggested.

Tristian gave her a smile. "I appreciate that, Jazmine," He said, then cleared his throat.

"Okay.." He said, squeezing her hand more firmly.

"Jazmine, I want to convey my gratitude for being such a kind and loving mother to our son. I am thankful for everything you have ever done for me and I am fortunate to have experienced such a loving and phenomenal companion like you," Tristan said sincerely.

"Awe ,' Jazmine said, feeling touched by his words. "Tristan I-"

"Jazmine, hold on. Please, I'm not finished,' he said interrupting her.

"Oh okay. I'm sorry, please continue," she said.

Tristan took a deeper breath, harder than the first, and she could tell that speaking was a struggle for him.

This worried her.

Tristian lowered his gaze, and she followed suit. He was observing their hands, and their gleaming wedding rings aligned with each other. She observed as he shivered deeply before returning her gaze.

"Go ahead, baby, It's alright, " Jazmine assured him by pressing on his hand.

"Over the past few months, I have had the opportunity to reflect on our marriage. Despite the fact that at times the good outweighs the bad, I feel indifferent to the outcome of our marriage," Tristian stated.

Indifferent?

"I strongly believe we've reached a point in our marriage where we're moving on separate paths," Tristan said, choosing his words carefully. At this point, Jazmine's eyes were brimming with tears, but she held them in.

Tristan swallowed hard as he continued . "Jazmine... This isn't easy for me to say. In fact, I had a tough time last night just thinking about it. And I want you to know that this has been the most painful yet crucial choice I've had to make in my life, and I hope you understand that it wasn't a spur-of-the-moment decision,"

Jazmine felt deja Vu as she knew from the depths of his words that this was the end, but a part of her was still hoping for a good outcome.

"Tristian..." Her voice fainted as she struggled to speak.

He clasped their hands together and leaned closer to her.

" Jazmine, I think it's best that we move forward with our journey separately," Her brows furrowed as her heart pounded into her chest.

Jazmine's lips quivering, she stammered: 'Tristan...' What- what are you saying? " She knew that the next words would shatter her world.

He gazed down while taking a deep breath. "Jazz, I'm saying... I want a divorce," he said, pulling his hands away from her.

Without warning, her heart stopped and everything in the room began to shrink. Jazmine went into a complete silence.

He lied. She thought as she remembered the promise he made that their situation would never result in a divorce.

"Jazmine, do you have any thoughts on what I just said to you? " He was worried about her lack of response.

How about a liar!

Jazmine was in a state of shock and panic, knowing she had to say something but struggling to find the words.

"It's funny, actually," she chuckled nervously. "I was planning on saying the same thing to you,"

Tristan brow raised in disbelief. "Really?" With a laugh, he said, "How about that?"

"I want to know how you feel though?" He asked concernedly.

Jazmine experienced a sharp pain in her chest as if she had been stabbed in the back.

"I, I, I feel fine, " she said, feeling like shit.

Tristan was relieved, feeling like the weight had been lifted off his shoulders and feeling completely liberated .

"How do you feel? " She finally asked.

" I feel good," He admitted. "It's satisfying to have that off my chest, " he said, feeling proud of himself.

"Heh" Jazmine said as she thought of something.

"I'm glad that we were on the same page in the end," Tristan admitted.

"Yeah, me too, " she said, hiding her pain behind a smile.

When the receptionist from earlier came back, she said, "I'm sorry to interrupt, but Dr. Rochelle is ready to see you now." She said with a smile.

Silently, the couple stood up and entered Dr. Rochelle's session room.

As soon as she saw them, she smiled excitedly at them.

"Hello, Tristan, Jazmine. I've been anticipating your visit. Please take a seat,"Dr. Rochelle pulled out her notepad and crossed her legs as they were seated.

"To the best of my recollection. Both of you made the request for this meeting because you have something to disclose to each other. With a smirk on her face, she looked at Jazmine. "Jazmine, would like to share-"

"I'm sorry to interrupt Dr. Rochelle, "Tristian interrupted. "But my wife and I have already expressed our wishes. Therefore, I must inform you that this is our final meeting with you as we have both determined that it is best to proceed with our divorce," he disclosed.

Dr. Rochelle looked completely taken aback.

"Oh..My.." she said, speechlessly. "My apologies but this has caught me by surprise." She admitted. "May I ask why you've decided to give up on your marriage?" She asked.

"Despite our love and respect for one another, we both feel as if we are moving toward different paths in our lives and would like to experience with other partners " Tristan stated briefly. .

His last sentence struck a nerve in Jazmine, but she remained silent.

"I see. ' Dr. Rochelle said. "Would you like to still continued with your last session so that we can discuss this matter in an amicable manner?" She offered.

Tristan cleared his throat. " Dr. Rochelle, we appreciate your concern. However, we would like to respectfully decline your offer. It's imperative that we leave now so we can discuss this matter privately. Moreover, we want to show our gratitude for your support and efforts in salvaging our marriage, which has unfortunately come to an end"

"Very well. I wish you both the best of luck in your journeys, "Dr. Rochelle said.

'Thank you,' Tristan said, standing up to leave. Jazmine stood alongside him, but was stopped by Dr. Rochelle.

"Um.. Tristan. I would like to speak privately with your wife, if it's alright with you, " as she requested.

"That's fine, " he responded. He whispered to Jazmine that he would be waiting in the car.

She nodded her head then, she sat back down.

He turned to Dr. Rochelle and shook her hand.

"Take care, Dr. Rochelle, " Tristan said kindly.

"Same to you,Tristian " Dr. Rochelle said politely.

Dr. Rochelle waits until Tristan is out of sight before turning her attention to Jazmine.

"Jazmine. What happened? When you called me last night, you expressed to me that you wanted to discuss having another baby with Tristan. 'She revealed.

Jazmine was trying her hardest not to weep, which resulted in a lump in her throat and a tightening of her chest. She refuses to show her pain. Her goal was to keep her strength intact.

But it was hard.

"Now I'm hearing that you want a divorce? Can you tell me what I am missing? "Dr. Rochelle said in disbelief.

It was true. For some time now, Jazmine has been thinking about expanding her family. At first, she thought it was just a case of baby fever, but the more she thought about it, the more she desired it. She had always wanted to give Sebastian a sibling, but due to her and Tristan's work schedule, they decided to put it on hold.

Although things weren't the best among them, Jazmine had hope that things would eventually turn around. With Tristan giving her mixed signals, she thought it was the perfect opportunity to bring up her desire to have another baby.

During their session, she had planned to discuss it with Tristan, but when Tristan brought up the divorce, it caught her by surprise and left her devastated.

"After some contemplation, I had a change of heart. I don't think it's the best idea to bring another child into a marriage that is clearly broken, as Tristan stated. We are on different paths in our lives and it's best we go our separate ways," Jazmine said, trying her hardest not to break down.

"I understand what you're saying, Jazmine, but is that truly what you desire? I was under the impression that you were willing to fight for your marriage, especially for the sake of your son. As far as concerned, you and Tristian were making progress. Given what you've accomplished, do you really believe giving up now is in your best interest? "Dr. Rochelle questioned.

She really didn't want to give up, but what choice did she have if he had already given up? Her heart wanted to keep fighting, but it wasn't worth the fight if she was the only one who wanted it?

"Yes. I agree that getting a divorce is within our best interest," Jazmine briefly stated.

Dr. Rochelle gave her a sympathetic look.

"I respect your wishes, Jazmine. But know this. The end of your marriage is a painful but temporary setback. Use it as a launching pad to propel yourself as far ahead as you possibly can. Also you don't have to deal with this alone, I'm here for you. I'm just a call away," she said, in an encouraging tone.

"Dr. Rochelle, I am grateful for everything you have done, " Jazmine said with gratitude. As she stood to leave, she seemed distraught. "I will seek my way out now"

Dr. Rochelle guided her towards the door. "I was serious when I stated I'm here for you. In case you were not aware of this. I also specialize in helping individuals cope with divorce. Please don't hesitate to give me a call if you ever need assistance, and I will prioritize you on my schedule," She said, hoping Jazmine would reconsider.

Jazmine smiled sadly, "Thank you, but that won't be necessary. I am confident that this is the right decision, " she said, hiding the fact that she felt humiliated.

"Very well,," Rochelle ended by saying, 'Good luck Jazmine and keep your spirits up,'.

'Okay thank you', Jazmine said before dismissing herself.

Her counselor's eyes were filled with pity, which she couldn't tolerate. When she arrived at the parking lot. She spotted her husband sitting in the driver's seat. He appeared to be on the phone with someone. He curled his lips into a wide smile. Feeling her blood boiling, she immediately suspected that he was on the phone with the other woman.

Jazmine was astonished to see him laughing, and she could tell by the look on his face that he was having a good conversation.

How could he possibly express joy at a time like this?

Jazmine knocked hard on the window, which caught his attention. He quickly ushered the person off the phone and ended the call.

He unlocked the door for her and she climbed into the passenger seat. His demeanor abruptly changed. He didn't give her any acknowledgement. He started the engine and drove off as if it were nothing.

Silence reigned during the car ride home, making it seem like hours.

"I will begin searching for apartments in the morning. I'm still going to stay in the guest room, but once the divorce is processed, I will be moving out of the house," He spoke, breaking the silence.

"You will receive the divorce petition papers in a few days as I have already filed for divorce,"

He already filed? Obviously, he was a lawyer himself and would be able to access those documents.

"I think it's best if we settle this out of court. Divorces can become very chaotic, and my goal is to make this process as easy as possible," He advised.

It was easy for him to say. What she was going to have to endure was anything but easy.

"Once you're served, we can discuss our assets, properties, and other things you may be concerned about. I am open to being fair and can offer you spouse alimony if necessary," He went on.

"If you require a divorce attorney, I can make a few calls, but I don't think it's necessary because I'm willing to give you whatever you want. Your signature is all I ask for.

He had it all figured out.

A tear dropped from Jazmine's eyes. Everything was about what he wanted, but not a word about what she wanted.

"Jazmine, " he said her name in concern. "I understand it's challenging, but it's essential that we talk about these issues. Just list your demands, and I will comply "

Jazmine remained mute. Tristan shook his head as he pulled over. He turned to face Jazmine, who was staring at the windshield.

"Jazmine, please tell me what you want out of this and I will make it happen," He pleaded with softened eyes.

"I, I just want Sebastian to be okay" She finally as her voice cracked. "I need to know that you'll still be his father at the end of this" her lips quivered while she continued. "I need to know you will still be there for him no matter what happens between us," she closed her eyes, feeling her tears sting.

Tristan's eyes began to well up as he saw the pain in her eyes. He knew despite her pain her sole concern was the well-being of their son.

"Tristan, I just can't bear to see his heart broken. " She finally said, as she broke down. "I just can't," Jazmine cried uncontrollably while turning her head and shielding her face.

Tristan looked at her guilt in his eyes . He watched as she was releasing all the emotions she had bottled up inside. Her tears were not only for her broken heart, failed marriage, and the baby she desired, but mostly importantly for their son.

"Jazz, listen to me, "he removed her hands from her face and held them. "I promise you, I'll still be there for our son. He won't experience any heartbreak because he doesn't need to know. We can keep the divorce between us for now, and when the time is right, we'll tell him. Attending family counseling is something I would be willing to do if it becomes necessary. " Tristan explained.

'He's going to be okay, he's going to be okay ' he said, as he pulled her in for a hug.

Jazmine sobbed burying head on his chest, she knew this would be the last she would ever be in his arms.

Thinking about her son's reaction, she wanted to protect him at all costs. Moreover, she questioned the qualities of the woman he left her for and wondered if she lack those qualities.

Despite having all of these questions, she kept them to herself because she didn't think they were relevant . He was in love with someone else and she had to accept that fact that she had officially lost him.

She had to acknowledge that she had a role in the outcome of their marriage. While she loved Tristian with all her heart and wanted to fight for their marriage, she knew she couldn't give him the love he deserved because of her past relationship.

He deserved to be happy, even if it meant she had to endure another broken heart.

In the end, she had to let him go.…

..

A tear dropped from the corner of Jazmine's eye as the memory of her marriage's tragic end resurfaced her mind. While she managed to get through her divorce, it was still like tearing apart a band-aid from an open wound. She swiftly wiped her tears away, as she made a turn to Tristian's property.

Upon arrival, she was taken back by its glamour.

Jazmine had always known where he resided, but it was her first time seeing it in person. She was taken aback by the fact that he lived quite luxuriously. Tristan had a reputation for having expensive tastes, but when it came to buying a house. He was against having more space than he needed. He always opted for something more traditional. In spite of this, he now resides in a vast and lavish mansion that has a gated entrance and a waterfront. If Jazmine were able to predict the number of rooms in the mansion. It's likely to have been around 10 or 20. In general, it was a stunning home, but very flashy.

The gated entrance was closed and the only way to open it was either to open with a code or to be let in by the owner of the home.

Unfortunately for her, she didn't know the code and the owner of the home was drunk and asleep in the passenger seat.

"Tristian? " Jazmine shook his shoulders as she tried to wake him.

"Tristan, Wake up, You're home , "she said, while he groaned in response.

"Quit fussing" He complained before going back to sleep.

Jazmine was aware that she was not getting anywhere. There was only one other person who could possibly let her in the entrance, and that was his wife.

After rolling the car windows down, she leaned over to pressed on the doorbell twice.

"Greetings, you have arrived at the Bryants' residence. How may I assist you? "A woman's voice was heard.

"Hi, is this Diane speaking? "Jazmine asked.

"No. Ma'am. This is the maid speaking. May I asked who is this please? " the woman asked politely

"This is Tristian's ex-wife. I drove his car here because he was too drunk to drive. Is it possible for you to allow us in? Otherwise, he will have to stay in his car for the night. I really have to get going soon," Jazmine expressed as she found this absurd.

"Okay, one second Ma'am,"

Jazmine rolled her eyes . Was this necessary?

After a few minutes, the woman's voice was heard again.

"Hello. Thank you for your patience. Please wait a moment while I grant you access,"

"Okay, Thank you, " Jazmine said, hiding her annoyance in her voice.

As Jazmine waited for the gate to open, she used her phone to schedule her Uber ride to Huey's hotel suite which was set to arrive in 10 minutes.

Once the gate was completely opened, she drove up and parked in his driveway. She turned off the engine and attempted to wake Tristan, but he still refused.

As she got out of the car, she thought that his wife might have better luck. She made her way to Tristian's grand doorstep and knocked on the door. Before she had a chance to knock again, the door swung open, revealing a young woman who looked to be in her late twenties. She was of African American descent, medium height with brown eyes, dark hair, and light caramel skin. In spite of the cold weather, she adorned herself with a sheer leopard print robe set that featured a crop top and matching leggings, which showcased her flat-pierced belly. She had a lean slim figure which consisted of perky breasts, defined abs, a thigh gap, and long toned legs. The former beauty pageant displayed a pampered demeanor. Her appearance is characterized like a real-life barbie with airbrushed makeup, acrylic nails, and long, luxurious hair extensions. Moreover, the girl was stunning, and the sparkling large rock on her finger led Jazmine to believe she was Diane, Trisian's wife.

"Good evening. Are you Diane? " Jazmine asked to be certain.

"It's Mrs. Bryant, " she said in a sharp tone. She glanced up and down at Jazmine. "And you are? "

"Jazmine Dubois. I'm Tristan's ex-wife and mother of his son Sebastian, " she confirmed.

Diane's eyes widen as she was shocked by Jazmine's appearance. Diane had no idea what Jazmine resembled in person despite seeing younger pictures of her on Tristian phone. She always imagined that Jazmine would look old and washed up, so to see that she was the complete opposite of that enhanced her jealousy.

Meanwhile, Jazmine was reminded of her ex husband's betrayal. She finally understood the reason why he was so smitten by Diane, as she was the epitome of perfection. Everything she was, Jazmine wasn't. She was younger, more physically fit, and much more stylish than Jazmine ever was.

"Oh. Wow," Diane said in disbelief. "And could you explain to me why you're driving my husband's car? " She said, crossing her arms.

The hostility of her tone was dissatisfying to Jazmine, but she managed to maintain her composure.

"I'm not sure if you were aware of this, but our son Sebastian recently got engaged and wanted to introduce his fiance to his father over dinner. His father was so overjoyed with excitement that he ended up getting too carried away with the wine and ultimately was too drunk to drive home. Therefore, I drove here," Jazmine explained.

"Where did you say my husband was? " Diane said. Jazmine stared at her in disbelief as she had just given her explanation.

"He's in the car, but he's refusing to get out. I thought maybe you would have better success," Jazmine explained.

Diane exhaled sharply before walking to Tristian's car, where he was still soundly asleep.

Jazmine walked behind her.

With concern, Diane rushed to her husband when she reached the passenger seat.

She caressed his face and said, 'Babe! Babe wake up, it's me.'

"Who?" Tristan asked, opening his eyes a little.

"It's your wife" Diane said.

'Jazmine?' He said, causing Diane's blood to boil.

Diane face hardened. "No, it's Diane. Your young, sexy, hot wife that your so lucky have," She said in conceited manner. Tristian was initially confused as he looked at her before fully opening his eyes.

"Oh, Diane," he said as he finally recognized her.

"Hey, Babe, are you okay?" Diane asked softly.

"Yeah. Has Sebastian gotten in the car yet? " He said as he remembered Jazmine mentioned that they were picking him up from school.

"What?" Diane said in confusion.

"Tristian, Sebastian is in the backseat, but you're home now." Jazmine said, chiming in.

"Oh okay, you ready to go inside bun?" Tristian asked, referring to Jazmine.

"Yes babe, let's go inside" Diane said while Jazmine remained silent.

"Okay, honey bun,'' he said as he made his way out of the car. Diane nudged him to walk as he stood.

"Diane, I'd be cautious if I were you. Tristian tends to be a bit clumsy when he's under the influence," Jazmine warned. " Maybe it's best if we both escort him inside,"

Diane looked at with her cold glare.

"With all due respect, Jazmine, I do not need your advice on how to handle my husband. Thank you, but I got it from here" She said with an attitude.

Jazmine had the desire to curse her out, but decided to bite her tongue instead. She was not in the mood to engage in an argument with someone she considers a child.

"Okay, Diane. He's all yours, " she said with a small smile.

"Yes he is" Diane said with a laugh. "Come on, babe, Diane urged him to walk faster. Tristan managed to walk two steps, but then stumbled over the sprinklers and lost his balance on the grass.

"Tristan, get up out that grass" Diane fussed at Tristian who was laying comfortably on the grass like it was a bed.

Jazmine rushed over to him and assisted him so that he was sitting up. "Diane, would you please lend me a hand? We have to stand him up"

Diane crossed her arms. 'Oh hell no, I'm not finna break a nail', she mentioned.

"What's more important, your nail or your husband's well-being? " Jazmine asked as she was becoming irritated with Diane.

Diane looked at her with offense. "Excuse me?"

Jazmine rolled her eyes. "Could you please help me stand him up? " She spoke with a more polite tone.

"Sure. I'll get the maid to help,' Diane said as she rushed back inside the house.

"Are you kidding me? Jazmine murmured. Meanwhile, Tristian was snoring away.

Diane returned with a heavyset black woman who looked old enough to be Diane's grandmother.

She walked towards Jazmine. "Hello, Ma'am. Mrs. Bryant said you needed my assistance.

"Hi. Yes. As you can see, Mr. Byrant has fallen asleep. Can you assist me in escorting him inside?"

"Certainly, Ma'am," she said politely. Jazmine manages to wake Tristian up enough for him to stand on his own. However, Jazmine and the maid assisted and escorted him to the house

As Tristian lay on the couch, Jazmine caught a glimpse of his house, which was stunning. Displayed on the wall. There were photographs and awards of Diane when she was in a beauty pageant. Jazmine had the impression that this was prior to her becoming an assistant for Tristan.

There were numerous pictures of Diane and him together, one of them being a photo of Tristan proposing to Diane while they were surrounded by the ocean.

Tristan stood on one knee with a huge smile on his face, whereas Diane stood before him with tears in her eyes.

"That was the best moment of my life, "Diane said as she caught her looking at it.

Despite being the best moment of their life, it was the worst moment of hers.

"He looked so happy, don't you think? "Diane said.

"He certainly does," Jazmine said as she suddenly felt like she was in a sullen place.

"When he wakes up, I advise him to have something light, like toast or anything that doesn't weigh down his stomach. In the morning, he will experience nausea and a headache. Coffee, aspirin, and enough rest should help, "Jazmine advised, shifting the subject.

Jazmine's advice was dismissed as Diane yawned.

"Well. I should get going now, " Jazmine announced as she felt she overstayed her welcome.

"Yes, it's time for you to leave," Diane walked towards the door and opened it wide open for Jazmine's exit.

Jazmine headed towards the door. "My ride is arriving any minute now. Would it be alright if you kept the gate open for the Uber driver? " She requested.

"Sure, " Diane said, which was her first time being nice to her.

"Thank you, take care, " Jazmine said before leaving the house.

Diane replied, 'You too,' while giving her a fake smile. Shortly after, Jazmine's ride arrived.

Diane observed Jazmine's entry into the Uber driver's back seat.

'Bitch', she muttered with hatred.

Jazmine found herself alone with her thoughts while riding in the back seat of her Uber ride. It never crossed her mind that she would meet Tristan's wife, and in fact, she didn't think it was necessary. However, now that she has finally had the chance to meet her, she is feeling all kinds of emotions. She couldn't comprehend why her ex-husband, who is 41, would leave her for someone 16 years younger. Although Jazmine had learned to accept it, the sight of her in person with her young beauty left her feeling old, unattractive, and uncertain.

She was able to move on with her life after six years without Tristan. She was content with the aftermath of her divorce as it strengthened her. She no longer desired her ex-husband. In truth, she was truly happy for him, want nothing but the best for him. With that given fact, she didn't understand why suddenly she felt sad.

Out of nowhere, she found herself thinking back to the past and crying over it. The wounds she believed had healed were now rupturing, which was causing her emotional turmoil.

What was the meaning of all this?

As she arrived at the hotel reception, she was welcomed by a gentleman dressed in a suit.

"Greetings, my name is Kevin. How can I assist you today? "He spoke with professionalism.

"Greetings to you too, Kevin. I'm here to visit someone, " Jazmine responded.

"Okay, could you please provide the first and last name of the person you will be visiting today?" He asked.

Jazmine hesitated, hoping that she didn't come off as an escort. "Huey Freeman"

The man gave a smile and said, 'Jazmine Freeman? Mr. Freeman is expecting you, " he said, while Jazmine looked confused.

After typing on his computer, the man handed her a key card.

"Okay, Mrs. Freeman. Your destination is suite 406, which is located on the fourth floor," He smiled and said, 'Enjoy your stay'.

'Thank you', she said politely.

"Jazmine Freeman?" She chuckled as she headed towards the elevator and stepped inside. As she reached the fourth floor, she took advantage of the mirrors in the elevator to examine herself. She took out the bun that held her hair together and shook her head, letting it flow down gracefully. She applied gloss to her lips. She glanced at herself. As she stared into the mirrors, that sad feeling came back.

Unexpectedly, she noticed flaws in herself that hadn't bothered her before. For example, she missed her twenty-year-old breasts, as they were smaller , and easily manageable. Now she always had to wear a shirt a size larger because of her breasts size. Her wide hips and big butt always caused unwanted attention. She couldn't walk by a man without hearing them gawk at her, and buying jeans was a difficult task. The majority of people believed that the freckles on her nose gave her a distinctive appearance, but occasionally they made her feel ugly.

The elevator made a 'Ding' sound, indicating that she has reached the fourth floor. She left the elevator and proceeded to walk down the halls. Once she got to suite 406, she took a deep breath and then inserted her key card.

Jazmine examined the room, which was stunning and massive, upon her entry. Huey was nowhere to be seen.

'Huey are you there?' Jazmine said, but there was no response. On the floor, there was a trail of rose petals leading towards the bedroom.

Jazmine smirked as she had a good sense of where Huey was.

She traveled the rose petal path that led to the master bedroom, which was elegantly furnished with candles laminated, a table for two with chocolate covered strawberries and fruit, champagne, and a heart-shaped rose petal arrangement spelling out the word 'love' on the bed.

"Do you like it? " Huey's voice caught her attention. As he stood behind her, she felt his strong, warm hands wrapping around her body. She shuddered at his touch

"It's lovely...but what's the occasion? "She asked.

He remained silent while removing her vest coat. As he tossed it, he gripped her curvy hips and pecked her neck.

She shut her eyes as that one kiss awakened something in her.

"I need a occasion to be romantic Dubois?" He whispered while kissing in her ear, sending goosebumps down her spine.

"Of course not. I always enjoyed your sentimental side" she joked.

With a chuckle, he rested his chin on her shoulder . "Is that so? "

"Mhm" She smiling with her eyes closed.

"Well..I got something else you might enjoy " he mentioned as he pressed her ass against his forming erection.

"Huey,' she murmured, feeling aroused.

"Yes" he said while removing her belt purse from her waist and let it fall on the floor.

"Did the kids make out okay?" She asked, trying to distract herself from the fact she wanted him to make a move on her.

"Yes, the movie is two hours and 45 minutes long which buys us some "alone time," "he whispered the last part in her ear.

Jazmine giggled softly. "Oh that's good" She said, feeling relieved. "I could really use some "alone time" especially After the night I had" she mentioned.

"Speaking of which, How did the trip to your ex-husband's house go? " He asked curiously.

"It was interesting, actually.'' She revealed as he raised his brow.

"How so?" He asked, gently massaging her tense shoulders.

"I finally had the pleasure of meeting his wife, " she revealed.

"Oh. How did that go?" He asked.

" Well, it was okay.. except for the fact that she obviously hates my guts," She said, tilting her head back a little as the massage felt good.

"Yeah?" He asked as Jazmine went on.

"Mhm. I was literally trying to help her get her drunk husband inside the house, while she was acting very hostile towards me" She explained.

"Maybe she can't stand being in the presence of a beautiful woman, " Huey remarked.

Jazmine scoffed and rolled her eyes," "I seriously doubt that. I mean, she's young and hot. She has the body of a swimsuit model, and I'm the complete opposite of that" she said, feeling insecure.

"Do you really believe that her age and body type make her a more attractive woman than you," Huey asked, disliking the fact that her self-esteem was brought down.

"Huey, there's no reason for her to feel intimidated by me," Jazmine said, denying it.

"It seems to me that she does," Huey disagreeing. Based on what Tristian told him, Diane had good reason to feel intimidated by Jazmine.

"I beg to differ. Why on earth would a 25 year old woman feel bothered in the presence of an aging 40 year old woman," Jazmine said in disbelief.

"Because there's nothing wrong with being a natural woman of age, especially when she's as breathtaking as you are, " Huey said as he turned her around to face him.

"Jazmine...In all my 40 years. I've come across a lot of good looking women, but you're by far the most stunning woman I've ever laid eyes on. " He said gazing at her eyes . "There's no reason for you to ever feel insecure, especially considering how attractive you are," He groped her ass with his hands. "And quite frankly, you're so incredibly sexy, even I can't resist," He said before kissing her deeply.

"Huey" She gasped as their lips parted.

"What's wrong ?" He replied, breathing heavily.

With fiery passion, she clenched his shirt "make love to me" she demanded.

With a smirk, he leaned over towards her ear

"Say please" he whispered in an demanding tone.

Her hand travelled below his belt. She gave his groin a light squeezed.

Please,' she looking at him with begging eyes. This caused a reaction from Huey as his eyes were filled with lust and excitement. Just the thought of fucking her again enthralled him.

Without further words, he kissed her with full force.

Jazmine was completely submissive to him as she melted in his grasp. As they kissed sloppily, He led her into the bed, unzipping her garments, He slipped the fabric over her shoulders and let it drop to her waist.

After removing his shirt, He devoted himself to kissing all the parts of her body. As he began to descend, he knelt down in front of her and removed her boots. Jazmine started to giggle as he started to kiss every inch of her feet. He stopped and reached for her thighs, where he planted more tender kisses.

"Huey..." She whimpered, arching her back. Knowing precisely what she wanted, Huey smirked.

'Spread your legs,' he demanded. His voice resembled a low growl. "Keep them spread unless I tell you otherwise. You understand me Dubois?"

"Yes, " she responded as she spread her legs for him. She watched as he gazed down into his her feminine mound with hot, greedy eyes. The thong she was wearing was glistening, indicating that it was wet and ready for him.

At the sight of it, he puckered his lips and without any warning, he gently inserted his fingers into her pussy, prompting her to gasp loudly. She bit her lip while he pumped his fingers deeply inside her.

'Oh God! ' She screeched as she couldn't take it anymore. The heat of his touch caused her legs to shiver.

Right when she thought he was coming close to her G-spot, he abruptly stopped, Jazmine eyes to widen.

She watched as he placed the tip of his fingers in his mouth.

"Mm," he said, closing his eyes as she was so delicious to him.

Just as she thought things couldn't get any more intense, she was lifted off the bed and moved to the table. Her gasps were heard as he knocked everything off the table, placing her on top.

"Huey, what are you doing? " She panted. Kneeling before her, he put her legs over his shoulder and spread them wide.

'Shh. I'm getting my dessert,' he said huskily before diving his head into her wet pussy. As Jazmine savored her breath, Huey inserted his tongue into her clit, sucking and fucking her with his tongue. She screamed, grasping the tablecloth with all her strength. The man she desired was devouring her on the dinner table as if it she was his final meal, and she was relishing every second of it.

When he finished, rose his head and looked at her with an evil taunting look.

"You want me to fuck you now? " He said, standing up while unbuckling his pants.

"Mm?" Jazmine said as she was still stuck in a daze, but she didn't realize his next move until she felt the presence of his hardened member.

Jazmine stabbed her bottom lip with her teeth. Her eyes hooded. Her body tingled as she throbbed with desperation for him to be inside her. Huey felt his dick pulsating with yearn. He couldn't wait to be feel her core but he hearing her beg for it was like music to his ears.

He grasped her chin, forcing her to look at him. 'Answer my question Jazmine,' he demanded through gritted teeth.

"Do you want me to fuck you?" he repeated, pressing his dick against her clit.

She responded with a muffled 'yes'.

"I can't hear you, Jazz," he said, grinding harder against her, causing her to lose her mind.

"Yes! " She mewled as she was on the verge of tears. That's how badly she wanted it. Her hips buckled, leading to more friction between them.

'Yes, what! ' He said, inserting his dick slightly into her, then pulling it back out. Jazmine shivered in response.

"What do you want, Jazmine? He said it huskily as he needed to hear her answer.

"I want you to fuck me!" she exclaimed " Please, baby, I need you inside me now!"

He was given all the encouragement he needed by her desperate pleas. Huey, upon her request, gave her a loving kiss whilst deeply inserting his shaft into her, making both of them moan with delight. As her legs rested on his shoulders, he pounded into her, digging his fingertips into her hips.

'Oh, Huey', she moaned softly as her eyes relaxed. The sensation was causing her to feel dizzy. His dick going in and out of her was accompanied by the sounds of her wetness pouring into him like a waterfall.

"Fuck..Jazmine" he said in a weak tone. He was losing his mind. Her breasts were bouncing up and down at a rapid pace. Hot sweat flowed down his chest, he licked his lips while palming her breast, squeezing it, before lowering his head and taking her breast into his mouth. Jazmine felt the heat of his tongue, licking, sucking, and biting on it softly, causing her to yelp. When he pulled away, he grunted and increased his speed while thrusting harder and deeper with each stroke.

As the table rattled beneath her, Jazmine was screaming his name, telling him to stop, then telling him not to, and begging him to go faster, deeper. Huey was dominating her, talking dirty to her as he gave her harsher and more demanding strokes. At some point, it was certain that the table would collapse, so Huey lifted her and swaddled her legs around his waist. She held onto his neck for support while he thrust into her, causing her to bounce wildly against him.

The two carried on with their standing position for a moment, then they took things to the bed where they follow through with their steamy session. Their loud moaning heightened as their bodies collided, releasing their sexual tension.

When things finally came to an end, they lay naked in bed. Huey was snoozing as Jazmine snuggled into his chest, his arms were wrapped around her waist, holding her protectively.

Just like the night before, Jazmine felt complete. As if her worries and insecurities had gone astray and she didn't care about anything else except that she was in the strong arms of a man who truly had her heart.

And she had his.
