Kerchaf started to head to Carra's nesting spot when Kala stopped him.

"Kerchak let me handle this," Kala said softly.

Kerchek paused for a moment while he considered. Kala was the Alpha Female, but she was a bit of a soft touch.

"Kala you've never handled discipline before," Kerchak pointed out.

"I'm sure I can handle it," she replied, "I've seen you handle things many times."

"Alright," Kerchak said, licking her face, "but I'll be watching."

Kala nodded and stormed over to where Carra was in her nesting spot.

"Carra," Kala began, "I'm-"

"What are you doing here," Carra asked→ confusion and relief flooding her brain simultaneously.

"I am going to give you a long talk," Kala said, "Kerchak said I can handle the situation as I see fit. You put your own life and the family's lives at risk. Sabor now knows where we are, and we will have to leave so he doesn't find us."

Tears filled Carra's eyes.

"I'm sorry," she said, "I wasn't thinking."

Kala felt bad for Carra but she had to continue.

"No, you weren't thinking, you weren't thinking at all. There are young who now think it's alright to go up against Sabor. They saw you do it. I am going to stay up to guard the camp against Sabor. As a punishment for your reckless behavior, YOU will stay up with me all night keeping me company. We will talk and by morning you'll understand why what you did was wrong-"

"But are we not leaving in the morning?"

"I suggest you find a way not to be tired tomorrow," Kala said, "If I have to stay up until morning you are staying up with me."

"Alright," Carra nodded, "I understand. Are you still my friend?"
