"Kagami?" I unlock the door, finding my own voice echoing back at me. Strange, she didn't answer the knock. Hoping she isn't sick, I climb the steps to upstairs, finding the bed empty. I check the bathroom, finding my mouth is starting to go dry with fear. There weren't any signs of a struggle in the kitchen, so where is Kagami?

I hear muted voices coming from the kitchen and head back down. "Good morning, cous-" the words die on Cat's lips as he and Ladybug see my vacant expression. "Felix? What's wrong?" "I don't think Kagami came home last night," I answer in a muted voice. "Maybe she's picking up our coffee?" Cat asked. "Kagami would have left a note."

I run a hand through my hair. "This is bad, so very bad! I should have insisted I walk her home last night. This is all my fault." "Don't be hard on yourself," Cat gently places a hand on my shoulder. "Kagami is a responsible girl, and even if she was captured, we can save her."

Ladybug's brow is furrowed as she types away on her compact. "What are you doing, love?" Cat asks. "I can't access Kagami while she's not wearing the suit, but I can track her Miraculous. See?" Ladybug's finger punch a button and the screen zooms in on a pulsing red dot.

"After I lost the Miraculous the first time, I got in contact with Max, and he was able to create nearly invisible tracking chips. I wish I would have thought of putting them on sooner."

"Can you pan out, to survey the area?" I ask, and with a flick of a finger, we see that Kagami's signal is coming from the woods near the old observatory. "If Jupiter were to pick a new hideout, I'd pick there too," Cat tells us as we head out into the cool morning sunshine. I note how easily they hold hands now. "Why's that, Kitty?" "Jupiter, one of the gods of war. Sure, it may not be a palace, but its big enough." "Good observation, Cat. And since Kagami and I broke into his house early on, he's been suspicious of us since day one." "Wait," Ladybug lays a hand on my arm, "You broke and entered a house?" I blush. "Maybe more like we went undercover as cleaners." "I'm impressed."

Seeing that Kagami isn't in danger, we quickly grab a coffee before heading into the woods. Ladybug sips her coffee thoughtfully. "Everything okay, Bugaboo?" "I just have this feeling that we won't be in London for awhile. Yeah, I know it sounds strange…." her voice trails off. Cat and I give each other a silent look before moving on.

My eyes carefully scan the trees, wondering if Kagami has left any clues for us. Ladybug keeps her yo-yo at the ready, and I wonder if I should transform. "No," she shakes her head. "It's merely a precaution if Jupiter is hiding nearby, but its unlikely." I nod, but I'm distracted by a flash of red out of the corner of my eye. I walk over to the branch its sitting on, studying carefully. "Maybe its a clue?" Ladybug asks. "Look, here," Cat says, and I notice that only the top part of the yarn is clean, while the bottom half is black. Ladybug rubs the black stuff between her fingers then gives it a sniff. "Its ink."

"Ink?" Cat and I say together. "From Kagami's brushes. Good work, Felix. It is a clue!" We find several more bits of yarn and we all jump when we hear a fluttering sound. "What is that?" Cat asks. "I think its coming from that tree branch," I whisper to my friends. Carefully, we "sneak" up on fluttering sound, only to find out we were scared by a piece of paper! "By the stream, walk ten paces and you'll find me," Cat reads. "What?" "That was written in Mandarin, who did you decipher that so quickly?" Ladybug asks. Cat gives her a wink as we trudge down the hill. "You forget I was learning Mandarin when we first met."

"Guys, over here!" Kagami calls softly, hiding in a ring of boulders. "Kagami, love! I was so worried!" I hug her tight, kissing her. She holds my hands, kissing me back. "I'm sorry I didn't wait, but I had a hunch about Jupiter! The observatory is just up the hill!" I press one more kiss to her temple, before we lace our fingers together. "I'm just glad your safe."

"I still have that strange feeling," Ladybug whispers to us, as the observatory comes into view. Bu we can't focus on that now. Carefully, we enter the building, our eyes adjusting the gloom.

We're on some kind of observation deck and we crouch down, looking for signs of my mother. Its so back in here, its hard to see anything.

Then, without warning, a single spotlight flicks on. "Welcome, Argos, and guests," Jupiter walks into the center of the room, a pattern of stars on his magnificent cloak.

"Where's my mother?" I demand. "Patience, Argos. I have something to show you." He pulls the Graham De Vanilly twin rings from a pocket of his cloak, and I gasp in horror. Out of the corner of my eye I see that Cat, too, as gone a chalky white for both of us know these are no fakes.

"Don't make any sudden moves," Jupiter's eyes are two black holes, a angry black. We are at his mercy, for if anyone of us try to get the rings, Cat and I will be destroyed. For our very lives are in that ring and a terrible realization dawns of me. "You don't have my mother, do you? Somehow you only took our ring!" Jupiter straightens, giving me a mock bow. "My, my, aren't you the clever one." "What are you demands of Argos, Jupiter?" Ladybug asks, her yo-yo whirling. My enemy spreads his hands wide. "I only wish for his Miraculous, Ladybug." "No deal! When you create a living being you nurture and care for them, not treat them as puppets for your own selfish purposes!"

My voices bounces and echoes on the walls, and for a moment we stare each other down. "Such a pity," Jupiter clicks his fingers and a huge mirror starts turning towards us. "What is that?" Cat yells as a sudden wind begins to blow.

"If you won't make my dreams come true, then you will face my mirror!"

Try as we might, we are sucked into the mirror by the wind tunnel. Blackness is all around us as we fall, nothing solid to grab onto it, just continuous falling.

Then brightness begins with a mere pinprick of light which grows slower bigger and bigger. We have to shield our eyes from the sudden brightness, landing on something hard with a thud!

Slowly, my friends and I sit up, looking around and catching our breath. Kagami cuddles close to me, and I put my arm around her, whispering it will be okay. Cat is doing the same with Ladybug.

"Is everyone okay?" Ladybug asks. "Shaken, but alive." "What is this place?" Cat asks, and now the danger seems to have passed, we take in our surroundings.

"It looks like we're back in Paris, but it feels off," I tell Ladybug. Everything is lush and green, perfect almost. "Is this Paris? Our some alternative reality?" Kagami asks. "Let's take a look around," Ladybug says.

"Marinette," I whisper, "let's head to your parent's bakery, as its a safe zone." Tom and Sabine have always supported Cat and Ladybug after all. Cat hears the tail end of my sentence. "I could go for a doughnut," he says, rubbing his tummy. "It would be good to get food and drink, Ladybug, but we shouldn't just fill up on sweets."

"Aw," Cat begins to pout. "Maybe just one doughnut," Ladybug giggles. We all troop into the bakery, where Sabine Cheng is sweeping the floor. "May I help you?" "Mama Cheng, its us. Cat and Ladybug." "Cat and Ladybug?" Sabine leans on her broom, thinking. "You know, who saved Paris from Hawkmoth?" Now Sabine looks totally confused. "Hawkwho?"

"Anyway, we'll take half dozen doughnuts and four cups of coffee," Cat says. "Cream or sugar?" Sabine smiles at him. "Cream!"

"Huddle!" Ladybug hisses. "Why don't my parents remember Cat and Ladybug? Or Hawkmoth?" "Ladybug, I think that Jupiter sent us to a perfect world, but we're trapped here." "Perfect world," Cat scoffs, "If that were true, my mother would be still alive." "And if Hawkmoth didn't exist, that means Emile would be still alive." Cat is putting on a brave face. "M'lady, even in a perfect world, I know she's gone."

"Still, it wouldn't hurt to check the mansion," Ladybug says thoughtfully, rubbing her chin.

"Here's your food!" Sabine sings out. Finding a quiet spot in a nearby park, we fuel up. "Its get this over with," Cat says, brushing the crumbs away.

The mansion is like I remembered it, and Cat reaches up to punch in the code. "Wait!" Kagami cries and we all turn to look at her. "We can't go in there with our superpowers!" "Kagami's right. Find a safe spot to detransfrom, and meet back here in five minutes.

Kagami and I take off in one direction, Cat and Ladybug the other. "Argos, I'm afraid," Kagami says. "I'll keep you safe," I whisper as we cuddle in a hug. "Besides, I'm scared too." she places a hand on my cheek. "What are you afraid of?" "What's on the other side of the door."

Five minutes later, Adrien punches in the code, the gates slowly swing open. We're all back to holding hands, and I can feel my heart beating rapidly.

Adrien slowly pushes the door open, and the smell of lemon polish hits our noses. "Adrien? Is that you, honey?" Oh, dear Kwamis, I know that voice anywhere.

Then Emelie Agreste walks into view.
