Totally Spies: Clover's Totally Fabulous Birthday

Chapter 2

Clover, Sam and Alex were busy getting everything in their penthouse squared away for Clover's birthday party. They had to make sure their beds were made, the rooms were spotless, and the house was decorated.

"You know, this is the only time I actually care if the house is clean," Clover spoke up as she sweeped.

Sam rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, because when I tell you to sweep the house, I'm such a slave driver, aren't I?" Sam commented sarcastically.

"Well, it's true," Clover pointed out.

"Anyway, we gotta get this place squared away before Clover's mom, her sister or anyone else gets here," Alex pointed out.

"Luckily, we have plenty of time," Sam added.

Suddenly, Clover's compower started ringing again.

Clover answered, "This better not be a mission, Jerr. We don't have time for one at the moment."

"Don't worry, Clover, it's not a mission," Jerry assured. His expression became serious. "But I just wanted to give you girls a heads up. We may have a situation on our hands later on."

"A heads up about what?" Sam asked curiously. "What kind of situation?"

"It seems that the plans for The Inventor's SUDS have gone missing," Jerry informed them. "It is likely they had been stolen."

The girls developed pale looks on their faces.

"The SUDS?!" Alex said in horror.

"For real?!" Sam said in a similar tone.

"Are you serious?!" Clover added.

"I'm afraid so," Jerry said with a nod.

"What would someone want with the SUDS?" Sam wondered aloud.

"My guess is whoever did it wants to turn people into spy-sassins again, like The Inventor was planning," Jerry surmised.

"That's not good," Alex said nervously.

"Oh, great. So now we have to worry about being attacked by spy-sassins again?!" Clover complained.

"Can you find the thief?" Sam asked.

"We're currently working on it," Jerry informed. "But so far we don't have any leads. It's like the thief just vanished."

"What do you want us to do, Jerry?" Sam asked the head of WOOHP.

"For now, just go about your day, spies," Jerry instructed. "We'll have other agents get on this case. But be extra diligent and absolutely aware of your surroundings. You never know when or if the criminals could come out and strike."

The girls nodded.

"Got it," Sam acknowledged.

"Hey, Jerry?" Clover chimed in, getting Jerry's attention.

"Yes, Clover?" Jerry spoke.

"All of the baddies we've captured are still under complete lock and key, right?" Clover asked with a worried expression on her face.

"Worry not, Clover," Jerry assured. "Every WOOHP prisoner is still locked up in the WOOHP holding facility. And the certain villains that have a personal vendetta against you, Clover, are under the heaviest guard, including Doctor Gelee, Diminutive Smalls and Geraldine Husk."

Clover grimaced as she heard that last name. Geraldine had almost ruined Clover's life the last time she faced said evil mastermind. She wasn't going to let that happen again, especially not on her birthday.

"Good," Clover said firmly. "Can you please make sure it stays that way?"

"You needn't worry, Clover," Jerry tried to reassure the blonde fashionista. "We'll take extra precautions to ensure no WOOHP prisoners escape. We'll also be sending you some gadgets just in case the SUDS thief and any spy-sassins make an attack."

Clover smiled, "Thanks, Jerr."

Clover shut off her compowder.

"I can't believe it! Now I really do have to worry about something going wrong on my birthday," Clover complained. "What else is new?"

Clover slumped on the couch looking depressed. Sam and Alex both sat next to Clover and tried to cheer her up.

"Don't worry, Clover," Sam assured her best friend. "No baddie is gonna spoil our best friend's special day on our watch."

"Yeah," Alex chimed in as she put her arm around Clover's shoulder. "Just let those baddies try something. We're here for you all the way."

Sam put her arm around Clover's shoulders as well and smiled.

Clover smiled and put her arms around her best friends.

"Aw, thanks, guys," Clover said in appreciation. "I don't know what I'd ever do without you."

"Don't worry," Alex spoke. "We'll make sure you never have to do stuff without us… uh, again."

Sam and Alex chuckled awkwardly while Clover chuckled with them.

Inside a large dimly lit room stood a young woman in her 20s with black hair tied in a bun and wearing red glasses and black jumpsuit. She was currently looking up at a large tv screen which had a view of the spies penthouse.

"Those brats should enjoy their good day while they can," the woman said with a sinister chuckle. "Cause very soon, I, Grace Husk, will bust out my aunt and we will have our revenge."

"Mistress," a male voice came into the room.

"Ah, Agent Beta," Grace addressed. "Was the plan successful?"

"Yes," Agent Beta nodded. "We had managed to procure the plans for The Inventor's SUDS as you requested. The other men are working on a batch right now. It should be ready within the hour."

"Excellent," Grace said gleefully. "I should only need a dose of it for my plan, but better safe than sorry."

"Who do you plan to use it on?" Agent Beta asked. "The spies?"

"No, of course not," Grace answered. "As much as it would be fun to watch those spies kill each other, I only need two of them dead. I want Clover alive when we capture her."

"Then who do you intend to infect with the SUDS so they can accomplish those deeds?" Agent Beta inquired.

"Oh, I have someone in mind," Grace answered. She smiled evilly.

Back at the spies penthouse, everything was all squared away and clean. It still had to be decorated, but that would be taken care of later.

"Well, it's almost time for us to meet my mom and sister at the entrance of Mali-U," Clover spoke up.

"Then we'd better hurry and get there," Alex pointed out.

"You're absolutely right, Alex," Sam agreed.

"Alright, girls! To the Mali-U front entrance!" Clover declared.

Sam, Clover and Alex went over to the entrance to Mali-U near the campus parking lot.

Clover scanned the area for any sign of her mother and sister.

"I'm not sure they're here yet, Clover," Alex spoke up.

"They should be getting here any minute," Clover pointed out.

"Clover!" A younger female voice was heard squealing in excitement.

Clover turned to see a younger looking blonde haired girl with a flower in her hair run up to her.

"Daisy!" Clover said happily.

Clover's little sister, Daisy, wrapped her arms around Clover and gave her a great big hug.

"Wow, Daisy, great hug strength," Clover commented.

"I missed you so much!" Daisy said happily.

"That's true. Daisy's really been looking forward to seeing you on your birthday, Clover," another voice came over.

Clover, Sam and Alex looked to see Clover's mother Stella coming toward them.

"Hi, mom," Clover said happily. Clover went over and gave her mom a big hug. "Glad you and Daisy made it."

"Me too, Clover," Stella spoke. "Happy birthday."

Daisy looked past Clover and saw Sam and Alex.

"And you must be Sam and Alex," Daisy greeted politely. "I'm Daisy."

"Hi, Daisy," Sam said politely with a wave. "I'm Sam and this is Alex."

"It's really nice to meet you, Daisy," Alex said cheerfully. "And it's nice to see you too, Mrs. Ewing."

"And it's nice to see you girls too," Stella said politely. "Now then, Clover, are you ready to have a fabulous birthday?"

"I so, so, am ready!" Clover said happily.

Sam motioned Stella and Daisy to follow them.

"Come on, we'll show you to our penthouse," Sam spoke.

Sam, Clover and Alex started walking back toward the inside of the campus and Stella and Daisy followed them.

As the girls walked, they conversed.

"So how's my favorite karate star been doing these days?" Clover asked, referring to her sister.

"Oh, she's been doing great," Daisy answered, referring to herself in the third person. "I recently won another karate contest."

"That's awesome, Daisy!" Clover exclaimed.

"And what about you, Clover?" Daisy asked. "How's your…" Daisy said her next words in whisper. "…extra special career… been going lately?"

Clover knew that Daisy had to be referring to the girls career as secret agents for WOOHP.

"We'll tell you as soon as we get to the penthouse," Sam chimed in.

Daisy took a look at her surroundings as they walked through the campus.

"Wow, this place looks amazing," Daisy said in amazement.

"Yeah, you got that, right, sis," Clover commented.

"Are the people here nice too?" Daisy asked.

"Yeah!" Clover said. Her expression suddenly turned into a frown. "Well, for the most part."

"What do you mean 'for the most part'?" Daisy asked.

"Well, let's just say there are some people in Mali-U that aren't very savory," Clover explained.

"Well, well, well…" a familiar obnoxiously high pitched voice appeared.

The girls looked to see Mandy coming toward them.

"Speak of the devil," Clover muttered.

"Looks like you and your loser friends have some visitors, huh, Clover?" Mandy said with a nasty smirk on her face.

"Uh, who's that?" Daisy asked wearily.

"Daisy, meet Mandy, the most obnoxious girl on the planet," Clover said in disgust.

Stella also frowned as she laid eyes on Mandy. She didn't have a very fond opinion of Mandy ever since what Mandy did during the SUDS incident.

True, Mandy had been brain-washed at the time, but being cured didn't exactly fix Mandy's nasty attitude.

"And for your information, Mandy, my mother and sister are here for my fabulous birthday," Clover said. "And we're going to have the time of our lives."

"Oh, great, more members to add to your little gang of losers," Mandy commented smugly.

"Hey!" Daisy stood in front of Clover and looked at Mandy defiantly. "Where do you get off calling my sister and her friends losers?"

"Ugh, and where do you get off thinking this is any of your business, little loser?" Mandy countered.

Clover snarled, "Now you look here, Mandy. Mocking me and my friends is one thing, but calling my little sister a loser, crosses the line."

"Oh, and what are you going to do about it, Clover?" Mandy asked smugly.

Before Clover could do or say anything else…

"Mandy!" an angry voice shouted. "What did I tell you about belittling others just for your own amusement?!"

Mandy had a look of fear on her face. She turned to see her own mother Phoebe angrily stomping toward them.

"Mandy, your mother is here too?" Sam said in surprise.

"She's just visiting!" Mandy said with an embarrassed look on her face.

"Enough talk, young lady!" Phoebe continued to yell. "Now come on, Mindy's waiting for us at the parking lot, it's time to have lunch!"

Phoebe grabbed Mandy's arm and grabbed her away.

"Aw, mom!" Mandy groaned.

As the girls watched Mandy being dragged away by her mother, Clover smirked in amusement.

"Well, that was fun to watch," Clover commented.

"Hehe, no kidding," Daisy added.

"I'll give props to Mandy's mother for showing that awful girl whose boss," Stella spoke up.

"Do you not like that girl, Mom?" Daisy inquired.

"Let's just say I've had some bad experiences with that Mandy girl," Was all Stella could say.

"Well, as enjoyable as that was to witness," Sam chimed in. "We should get back to the beach house."

"Right you are, Sammy," Alex agreed.

While Clover and her friends and family continued walking to their beach house, they were unaware that a shadowy figure was watching them from afar in the bushes. The figure took a glance to his left and saw Mandy being dragged away by her mother.

"Target sighted," the figure whispered.
