There will be a few parts to this, as I delve into married life and them first living together. I hope you enjoy my take on their crazy 2 days of the tournament and getting married :3

May 7th.

Son Goku blinked, his eyes on the little woman in front of him as they sat crossed-legged facing each other amongst the lush green grass of the Ox King's Kingdom. His eyes drifted to her mouth, her lips moving at an inhuman speed as she chatted away to him, telling him everything she'd been up to since they last saw one another. If he was being honest, he wasn't really listening as well as he maybe should have been, he was more fascinated by how much she could talk. Bulma was like that, and Lunch, too. He wondered if all girls were like that.

"Goku, are you looking forward to the wedding?" she suddenly asked him.

Wedding.

He was getting married tomorrow.

He only learnt what getting married was earlier that day, at the 23rd Martial Arts Tournament, which he won, by the way. ;)

Chichi had tracked him down at the tournament to remind him of his promise to her. He'd forgotten who she was, which made her angry, so she agreed to tell him who she was if he could beat her in the ring. Of course, as soon as she said that, he had to beat her right away. He was intrigued by her and felt he knew her from somewhere, but he couldn't quite place her.

After he beat her, she told him who she was and it all came flooding back to him. He remembered her. Little Chichi, the girl he was sent to find by the Ox King. He also remembered her saying something about taking her hand when they were both old enough, which he didn't realise meant marrying her. He thought she was promising him some kind of food.

When Chichi realised he misunderstood what she meant, she was devastated, and Goku hated the sad look on her face. There was just something about her sad eyes that made him feel so bad. He also wasn't one to break his promises. So, he followed his heart, and he agreed to married her.

He should have been disappointed he wasn't getting any food. He should have been nervous, maybe even petrified! He was marrying someone he barely even knew! His friends thought he was crazy! 'End of your life' they told him. 'You'll have to live with her forever'.

But, he wasn't nervous. He wasn't petrified. He was actually quite excited about it! He may not have understood exactly what being married entailed, but, living with someone again made him smile. He missed living with someone. His Grandpa more precisely. He enjoyed the company, he enjoyed sparring with him and playing games with him and snuggling into his warmth at night. He enjoyed just having someone to talk to. Being with his grandpa were some of the best times of his life. He wondered if Chichi would do all of those things with him.

He liked Chichi. She was strong and had a nice aura about her, something which he picked up on quickly. She was fun to fight with at the tournament, he really enjoyed watching her fight her other opponents, too. She was so fearless and took them down so easily. She was also able to ride Nimbus with him! That meant she was a good person.

His thoughts led him to just a couple of hours ago, when they arrived at Fire Mountain and Chichi instructed Goku to formally ask her father for her hand in marriage.

"Ask for your hand?" Goku repeated as he hopped off Nimbus. He put out his one hand for her to take and helped her off the cloud. Chichi was smitten.

"Yes, Goku, it's tradition to ask the father of the bride for his blessing" she told him.

"Blessin'?" what did she mean by that? "An' what am I gonna do with your hand?" Goku questioned her further, not understanding what she meant. He knew he had promised to take her hand, which he learnt today meant marriage, but what did he have to do with her hand? Where was he taking it? Chichi giggled.

"No, Goku, you ask for my hand in marriage" she chuckled out, "All you have to say is, Mr Ox King, please may I take your daughter's hand in marriage? He will say yes, which means he is giving us his blessing to get married!"

"Oh, okay, I guess I can do that" Goku thought. He still didn't understand exactly what he was asking for, but he'd do it. The twosome made their way inside and it wasn't long before the Ox King came bounding down the hall, his incredibly large feet stomping loudly all the way down, before grabbing his little daughter and holding her tight.

"Oh, Chichi! I'm so glad you're okay! When I saw that Demon Piccolo was at the tournament, I was beyond worried!" He exclaimed. He and the many staff had been watching the tournament live on TV, up until things heated up between Goku and Piccolo Junior and the signal was lost. After failing to get through on the phone to the temple on Papaya Island, the Ox King thought the worst of the situation. He was a few breaths away from travelling over to Papaya island himself to find his daughter.

"Daddy, I'm fine! Honest! I found Son Goku, just like I said I would, and he defeated Piccolo Junior" she told her father proudly. Ox took his eyes over to where Goku was standing and he smiled wide.

"Goku! My boy! You haven't changed one bit! I saw you on TV! Would recognise that hair anywhere! Although, you are a lot taller now" Ox King chuckled out.

"Yep, I grew a lil bit all over" Goku agreed with a smile.

"And you defeated Piccolo Junior?!" Ox King couldn't believe it as he set his daughter back on her feet. After losing the broadcast signal, he had no idea what happened with Goku's fight.

"He sure did, daddy! He was the one that defeated King Piccolo when he was just a boy! Now, he's defeated Piccolo junior! Isn't he amazing?!" Chichi swooned, clasping her hands together in front of her.

"That's pretty impressive, indeed" the Ox King agreed. Goku's smile remained, Chichi then turning to face him.

"Goku, wasn't there something you wanted to ask my father?" She reminded him.

"Oh, oh yeah" Goku remembered, before taking a few steps forward towards the Ox King, "Mr Ox King, I wanted to ask ya for your daughter's hand in marriage" he looked over at Chichi to check he said the right thing and she nodded at him.

"You do?!" Ox asked, eyes wide, mouth gaped open.

"Uh, ye, we need your blessin' so we can get married" Goku told him. There was silence for a moment, and Goku thought maybe he said something wrong, but nothing prepared Goku for the quick action from the Ox King who grabbed Goku tightly, hugging him to his chest, almost suffocating him and shouting for joy!

"Goku! I thought you'd never ask! Chichi has been waiting for this day to come for a very long time! I had my reservations, because you didn't come back and keep your promise, but I'm so happy you finally did!"

"So, you will give us your blessing?" Chichi wanted to check.

"Of course!" He bellowed happily, setting Goku down on his feet and slapping him across his back proudly, making Goku fly forward nearly losing his balance.

"I would be very proud to call you my Son-in-law!" he told Goku with a smile.

"Son-in-law?" Goku questioned, not aware of the term.

"That's what you are now, Goku. You're part of the family" she beamed at him, before leaning into his chest and wrapping her arms around his waist. Goku went stiff and his face flushed a crimson red at her affection.

Goku was in his own little world again as he thought about that conversation.

Part of the family?

He ain't never been part of a family before, well, except for his grandpa's, but that was just the two of them and he died a long time ago, so, he didn't really have that family anymore. He didn't know much about families, he'd been around other families on his travels, but only had his family with his grandpa to refer to.

He knew families were special, his grandpa always told him that. His grandpa always had his back and always brought out the best in him. His grandpa looked after him and he would look after his grandpa sometimes, too, especially when he was sick. They were always together, no matter what.

If he was part of their family now, that meant he had to look after them and have their backs. He also knew he was much stronger than them, so it would be his job to protect them. Piccolo Junior was still out there, after all. Goku knew he had to keep them safe no matter what. He wouldn't let anything happen to his new family.

"Goku?" Chichi called his name, pulling him from his daydream.

"Huh?" Goku murmured, not remembering what she asked him. She giggled at him, he looked so cute.

"I asked you if you were excited about getting married tomorrow?" She asked him again.

"Oh, uh, ye, I guess so" he responded casually. Chichi beamed.

"It's going to be perfect!" she dreamily stared at him, making him feel a little nervous, "I can't believe I'm marrying the World champion! I'm so lucky!" Goku grinned bashfully at her.

"Heh, I guess it is pretty cool I won" he agreed.

"So cool!" she squealed, grabbing at his bicep and molding herself against him affectionately, "I'm so lucky to have such a handsome and strong husband!"

Goku swallowed nervously and tried to pry her off his arm, but her hold was like a vice and he didn't want to hurt her by putting too much force into removing her from him.

"D'ya hav'ta hold me so tight like that?" he groaned.

"Oh, stop" she gushed, "I'm hardly holding you tightly. I'm sure the champion of the World can take it". Goku still continued to eye her anxiously, patiently waiting for her to let go. She grabbed him a lot, he noticed, ever since he agreed to marry her. He didn't understand why she needed to keep doing that. She made it hard for him to walk when they were at the tournament, and it made him feel uncomfortable and flustered in front of his friends. They were alone now, but he still wasn't sure how to handle it.

"I've been dreaming about this day for a long time, Goku! I'm so happy I found you and you agreed to marry me" she chirped.

"Well, I did promise ya" he reminded her.

"You did. I was disappointed you forgot, but i'm glad you remembered when I told you who I was" she admitted.

"A lot's happened since then" Goku guessed, "I didn' forget ya on purpose, Chichi" he assured her with a genuine look on his face, which made her heart flutter.

"I believe you" she pulled back slightly from his arm and smiled sweetly at him.

"Can ya let go of my arm now?" Goku asked her. Chichi eyed him and took note of his uncomfortable, tense posture, and with a sad smile, she let go of him. It was pretty clear he didn't like physical contact outside of fighting. She hoped it wasn't her that he didn't like. Maybe he just wasn't use to it, Chichi thought. And they didn't know each other all that well and hadn't seen each other since they were kids. Maybe they needed to get to know each other better first.

"So, what have you been up to since we last saw one another? You've obviously been doing some intense training to defeat Piccolo Junior" she changed the subject, shifting from him to give him some space.

"Ye, I been trainin' a lot. I spent the last few years on Kami's Lookout. It was definitely intense, but I learnt a lot an' got much stronger" Goku reflected.

"I can see that" Chichi giggled out, "You aren't the little Goku I remember. I was bigger than you when we were kids, but not anymore"

"Ye, I think I grew up a bit" he chuckled.

"So, where do you live now? I remember my father telling me Son Gohan lived in Mount Paozu, do you live there, too?"

"I ain't been there for a while. I was livin' at Kami's place whilst I was trainin', I stayed with Master Roshi before that, otherwise I slept outside on my travels"

Chichi's eyes widened. She was shocked he was pretty much living like a homeless person.

"Well, it's pretty amazing you lived with Kami"

"Ye, but it was so borin' there". He added.

"And that's why you didn't want to take Kami's place as Guardian of the Earth?"

"Ye, I don't wanna be stuck up there for the rest of my life. Where's the fun in that?"

"I guess I can agree with that" she smiled.

"So, ain't we gotta live together when we get married?" Goku suddenly questioned her. His friends told him this, so he wanted to be sure what they said was true.

"Yes, married couples live together" Chichi bashfully responded.

"So, where d'ya think we should live? Are we gonna live here?" Goku didn't mind Mount Frypan, it certainly wasn't as boring as Kami's place.

"I know you haven't been there in a while, but you have a home at Mount Paozu, right?" Chichi asked him curiously.

"Yeah, me an' my grandpa had a little house there. Not sure what it looks like now, though, it's been a long time" Chichi caught Goku's far off stare as he thought about his old home. Chichi didn't know too much, but she knew that Son Gohan had died when Goku was very young, leaving him alone in the mountains for a couple of years. She wondered how he survived alone in the wilderness. She wondered just what his home looked like.

"What's it like out there? I bet it's so peaceful in the mountains" Chichi thought.

"Ye, it is. I never really liked bein' in places where there was a lot of people. I hated the city. It was too noisy. I liked bein' out in the mountains. The air was so fresh, I liked listenin' to the river and swimmin' in it, too. There's no one around for miles, so you can just do whatever ya want. Well, there's lots of animals around, but that's it".

"Animals? What kind of animals?"

"Boars, bears, tigers, monkeys, lizards"

"Oh, I guess that's not so bad"

"An' dinosaurs! But they never really came too close to where me an' my grandpa lived"

Chichi was a little nervous about there being dinosaurs. She'd had encounters before, and it never ended well.

"Can you remember how big your house was?" She quickly moved on from the topic of dinosaurs.

"It was a pretty good size for me, but I was really small then. Me an' grandpa both fitted in it fine"

"How many rooms did it have?"

"Just one"

"Just one? How did you fit everything in it?"

Goku shrugged, "We didn't have much stuff, but we had what we needed".

"Hmm, maybe we can do something with it" Chichi thought.

"Ya wanna live together in Mount Paozu?" He asked her, quite surprised by this.

"Well, yeah, it's your home and I think it would be a nice place for us to start our lives together"

"Wow, Chichi, I didn't think you'd wanna live there with me" Goku was surprised by this.

"You didn't? How come?"

"I just didn't think ya would. Thought you'd wanna stay here. An' none of my friends ever really wanted to go there before. Bulma found me in Mount Paozu, but we left then to go find the rest of the Dragonballs" Chichi took his hands in hers.

"Goku, it's your home, of course I want to go there with you. We can be alone together like a real married couple if we live there. And you can show me all around Mount Paozu"

"Really?" He was so excited by this! So excited that he didn't even notice they were holding hands and that his hands squeezed hers tighter in delight!

"Yes, really! If I'm going to be living there, I want to know all about it"

"I'd really like that, Chichi" Goku smiled his biggest smile. He hadn't been to Mount Paozu in so long! In all honesty, he really missed his home, so the fact that Chichi wanted to live there with him had him elated!

Chichi gave him a big smile in return. She was so glad he was happy with her idea! She'd thought about it on their way to Fire Mountain, and it was a no brainer really. It would have been nice to live with Goku in her father's castle, but they wouldn't have the privacy that a young couple should have. Chichi let her thumbs brush over Goku's massive, warm hands. His hands swamped hers and they felt so strong, it made her feel all giddy again. She really hit the jackpot with him! They still had a lot to learn about each other, but she couldn't wait to learn all about him!

"Goku, can I kiss you?" She suddenly asked him sweetly, a faint blush tainting her pale cheeks.

"Kiss me?" Goku questioned her, unsure of the term.

"Yes, if we're getting married we have to kiss each other" she educated him. Goku tilted his head to the side and cocked an eyebrow.

"What's a kiss?" He wondered.

"You ... don't know?" She was a little taken aback by this.

"Am I spose to know?" He questioned her further, completely oblivious to her shock.

"Do you remember when I kissed you today? On your cheek? It was just after you agreed to marry me" She reminded him. She observed as Goku took a moment to think, before his eyes met hers again in realisation.

"Oh, ye, I remember ya lickin' my face, why'd ya do that?" Chichi's entire face went bright red.

"I didn't lick your face!" She screamed at him in complete embarrassment, "I kissed you! With my lips!"

Goku winced and backed off slightly, his hands pulling from hers and held up in front of him as if to shield himself from her wrath.

"I didn' know!" Goku whined, defending himself. He really didn't. He just remembered his cheek feeling wet, so he thought she'd licked him!

Chichi took a breath and composed herself.

"Okay, now you know what a kiss is, I'd like to do it again, if that's okay? But, properly this time" she told him.

"Properly?" He asked her.

"Yes, like this" she carefully leant forward and closed her eyes, puckering her lips, only a few inches from his when she felt him grab her by her shoulders, stopping her from making contact with him.

"Whatcha doin'?" He questioned her, a confused look on his face.

"Kissing you" she told him bluntly.

"But, you're gettin' real close to me"

"Goku, I have to get really close to you to be able to kiss you"

"But, you're gettin' real close to my mouth. Ain't ya spose to kiss me on my cheek?"

"Well, yes, I did kiss you on your cheek today, but a real kiss is on the lips" she explained.

"An' we hav'ta do this when we get married?" He whined dramatically. The smile dropped from Chichi's face. He really didn't want to kiss her.

"It's what married couples do, Goku, and it's part of the wedding ceremony. When the priest says we are officially married, he will tell you to kiss the bride. That's when you have to kiss me on my lips. It only has to be a small kiss" she assured him.

Goku scrunched his nose up, he was still unsure about the kiss thing. He just didn't understand why they needed to do that. He didn't really like people touching him, so someone putting their lips on his was not something he was comfortable with.

That's when he caught the look on her face and he suddenly felt like the worst person in the World. She looked so unbelievably sad. He didn't like that.

He crossed his arms over his broad chest as he sat in deep thought.

"We only hav'ta do it the one time at the weddin'?" He checked with her.

"Yes, just the once" there was a glimmer of hope in her eyes.

Goku guessed if it was what married people did and it was part of the wedding, then he would do it. And she had the biggest smile on her face, he liked that. He didn't like her looking all sad.

"Okay, so, how do we do it?" He asked her.

"Well, you close your eyes, you move your head forward towards mine and you press your lips against mine" she instructed him. Chichi could still see he was a little reluctant about it.

"How about I take the lead and I kiss you?" She suggested.

"Okay" Goku replied, still a little unsure, but he guessed he could give it a try.

Chichi took a deep breath, brushing some stray hairs from the side of her face. She hadn't kissed someone on the lips before, and with Goku being so hesitant, it had her feeling nervous. She edged closer to him, resting her trembling hands on her knees as she positioned herself directly in front of him. She caught his eyes, and she could see the wondrous look on his face, his eyes darting back and forth hers making her feel even more nervous.

"Okay" she whispered, "I'm going to kiss you now" she told him.

"Okay" he quietly responded. Chichi licked her dry lips, before leaning her head forward towards his. She felt her heart pounding in her chest, her partially laboured breath sifting through her parted lips as she edged even closer to him.

Goku wanted to pull back, but he forced himself to remain still. He could feel her warm breath on his lips and it made him feel all hot and flustered, sending a small, unfamiliar shiver up his spine.

"Close your eyes" she spoke, her voice barely above a whisper. She watched as Goku immediately closed his eyes, just as she instructed, and after taking one last shaky breath, she closed her own eyes and gently pressed her lips against his.

Chichi sighed softly against his lips, her mind completely disconnecting, her body experiencing a high she'd never felt before. She'd waited her whole entire life for this moment, and it was even better than she'd ever imagined.

Goku's eyes flung open at the contact and he completely froze on the spot. His heart beat erratically like something possessed in his chest, droplets of sweat forming at the side of his head, his clammy palms grabbing hold of his kneecaps for dear life.

Chichi ended the kiss a few seconds later, a light blush tainting her cheeks, her head dipping down, her fingers fiddling with her dress. She felt like a giddy little school girl! She couldn't believe she just kissed him! She just kissed Son Goku!

"That wasn't so bad, was it?" She shyly asked him, looking up at him through her long eyelashes.

Goku didn't move, nor did he murmur a word. He was in too much of a shock to even think.

"Goku? Was that okay for you? I really liked it" she gushed, her hands on her cheeks as she continued to blush at their kiss. Goku wasn't entirely sure. He was so freaked out by the contact that the feeling of it didn't even register.

"Why do married people do that?" He questioned her, eyes still wide like dinner plates.

"All couples kiss each other. It's an act of love and affection towards each other"

"It's kind of weird ain't it? Puttin' your lips on someone else's?"

"I suppose it is a little bit, especially if you haven't done it before"

"Have you done it before?" He wondered.

"Oh, no! That was my first time. I've seen other people kiss and I've seen it on TV and in magazines, but I've never kissed anyone before"

Come to think of it, now Goku could recall seeing other people kiss on his travels. He always wondered what that was.

"So, that's what we gotta do tomorrow?"

"Yes, just like that" she smiled brightly at him and it was like an automatic reflex as he smiled back at her. He was still a little unsure how he felt about it, it was all so new to him, but he did promise to marry her and this was part of being married.

"Okay, I guess I can do that". Their romantic moment was abruptly brought to an end when a loud rumbling sound erupted between them.

"My goodness! What was that?!" Chichi eyed her soon-to-be husband, startled by the loud noise. Goku grinned and placed his one hand behind his head bashfully.

"Heh, sorry, that was my stomach" he told her. Chichi's mouth hung open.

"That ... was your stomach?" she repeated in shock. How on Earth did someone's stomach sound that loud?

"I guess i'm a bit hungry'". He had some senzu beans on him, and even though he had breakfast from Mr Popo that morning and munched on a senzu bean after he defeated Piccolo Junior, he still felt a bit hungry. A senzu bean was supposed to fill a man's stomach for 10 days. It didn't fill his for 10 days. He guessed it was because he did a lot of fighting, so it burnt his energy quicker, and he did have a big fight today against Piccolo Junior.

"Well, then, I guess we better feed you" Chichi thought, jumping to her feet and holding out her hands for Goku. Goku smiled up at her and took her hands, letting her pull him to his feet.

Chichi walked with Goku back to the castle and after instructing the chefs to start dinner, Chichi led Goku to one of the reception halls where she taught him the basic steps of their wedding dance. Goku had absolutely no clue how to dance like that, he was so clumsy and stood on her feet a few times. It frustrated her, but she remained patient and carefully guided him, eventually allowing him to lead her around the room. Chichi then firmly encouraged Goku to take a bath in the large main bathroom whilst food was still being prepared.

He was given some clean clothes to wear, whilst his Gi was washed and as they waited for dinner to be served, Chichi explained to Goku all about the wedding and what he needed to do. It was so much to take in that he already forgot the half of it. Chichi asked him if he'd like his friends to come to the wedding, but Goku didn't really care about them coming. Chichi then dragged him briefly into one of the front rooms where a strange man measured him for a suit. Bleh! Goku hated suits! They were always so tight and itchy! He asked Chichi if he could just wear his Gi, but she absolutely forbid it, explaining to him that everyone had to dress formally for a wedding.

Shortly after, to Goku's relief, the young couple finally enjoyed a huge feast with the Ox King to celebrate their engagement. As the many staff ran around wildly getting things together for the impromptu wedding tomorrow, Chichi found herself sat in a shocked silence as she watched Goku eat. The man ate like a ravenous shark, like he hadn't eaten in weeks! How did one person pack away so much food? Where was he putting it all? How on Earth was she going to fill that stomach of his? She knew how to cook plenty of different foods, she'd been taught by the maids at the castle, but she'd never cooked for someone like Goku. She hoped she would be able to satisfy him.

"So, Goku, what are your favourite foods to eat?" Chichi wondered as he bolted down another plate full of food. Chichi cringed. The man also had no table manners whatsoever. She had some work to do, that was for sure. Goku put down the large bowl of rice he was eating, a few grains scattered around his mouth and on his one cheek. He swallowed what was in his mouth and gave his attention to Chichi.

"My favourite foods?" he asked, checking that was the question.

"Yeah, as your wife, it's my job to cook you lots of yummy food, so it would be good to know what you enjoy to eat most" she told him, grabbing a clean napkin from next to her on the table and wiping the remnants of food from Goku's face. Goku tried to pull away, but Chichi yanked him back as she continued to clean his face.

"Hmm ... I dunno" Goku thought about it for a moment, once his face was clean, "I like lots of different food, Chichi, "his eyes caught the fish that was perfectly positioned on a large plate in front of him, "I guess I like eatin' fish a lot. Grandpa always use to cook the best fish, I could never do it as good as him" he told her with a smile.

"He did? How did he cook it?" Chichi wondered.

"I dunno, just on a pit I guess. It was always dark an' extra crispy" Goku recalled.

"You mean ... burnt?" Chichi guessed.

"Burnt? Is that what it was?" he knew his grandpa always overcooked things, he said it was better for their stomach's than undercooking them.

"Did he ever put anything on the fish? Like seasoning?" Chichi questioned further.

"Seasonin'? What's that?" Goku cocked an eyebrow at her. Chichi was dumbfounded.

"It's what makes food flavoursome. There's lots of different seasonings, like Rosemary, Thyme, Oregano, Garlic. There's also the basic salt and pepper" Chichi informed him.

"Oh, I know what salt an' pepper is" Goku told her. He liked salt, but pepper was a bit spicy on his tongue. He remembered trying a whole shaker of pepper before, and he regretted it.

"Well, when I cook for you, I can use all different kinds of seasonings and we can see what you like the most" she assured him.

"That sounds great, Chichi, thank you" Goku expressed his gratitude before tucking straight back into his bowl of rice. Chichi shook her head at him as he inhaled his food, her father chuckling adjacent to them. His son-in-law certainly had a very healthy appetite, his daughter had her work cut out for her.

It was getting late, so Chichi showed Goku to his room once they finished dessert. His mind was on the wedding and after an eventful evening of wedding talking, dancing and suit fitting, he was beginning to think that getting married was more than just living with someone. It sure was a lot of work.

As Goku followed her down the hall, he became distracted from his thoughts about the wedding and was amazed at the large hallways and tall ceilings. The place was huge and if not for Chichi, he would have definitely gotten lost trying to find his way around.

"Here's your room" Chichi told him as they reached the guest room, just down the hall from her own bedroom. When they entered, Chichi switched on a large floor lamp so they could both see the room better. Goku couldn't help but gape around at the large room, an enormous bed in the middle of it, with weird curtains around it. He wasn't sure why a bed had curtains, but the bed looked real comfy.

"Do you like it?" Chichi asked him.

"Ye, it's nice" he told her, his eyes still scanning the neutral coloured room, "it's real big" he thought.

"I'm glad you like it. You also have your own bathroom" she told him, pointing to a door behind him.

"My own bathroom?" Goku went straight over to the door she pointed at and opened it to gaze inside. He was in awe. He never saw a bathroom so big in all of his life! He thought the one downstairs was big, this was even bigger! And this was just for him to use?

"Wow, Chichi, did ya see the size of the bath in here? It could fit at least 5 of me in there" he commented in shock at the size of the tub. Chichi chuckled.

"Only the best for you, Goku" she told him sweetly. Goku turned to look at her, suddenly catching on to her words. This was his room, his bathroom, where would she be sleeping?

"Where are you gonna sleep, Chichi? Shouldn't we be sleepin' together if we're gettin' married?" He questioned her. Didn't she say they were gonna be living together? Didn't that mean they slept together? He and his grandpa always slept together.

"Goku, we can't sleep together until we are officially married" she bashfully responded.

"Why not?" Goku didn't see the problem.

"Because it's considered a sin! It's not proper to sleep together before the wedding" she educated him.

"But, we're still gonna be livin' together, right?" He cocked his head to the side. This whole marriage thing was confusing.

"Yes, of course! After we get married tomorrow we will be living together, just you and me" she assured him with a smile.

Goku shrugged, Chichi knew more about getting married than he did, so he went with it.

"Okay, well, where's your room to?" He wondered as he sat at the edge of his bed to remove his boots.

"Just down the hall, so I won't be too far away if you need anything" she told him.

"Okay" he smiled at her as he dumped his last boot and stood back up. There was a brief silence as they looked at one another, Chichi suddenly feeling very anxious to ask him something, because he may reject her.

"Are you okay, Chichi? Your face is all red. Are ya sick?" He suddenly asked her, pointing at her face, and it had her heart pounding something crazy in her chest.

"I'm not sick" she stammered out, her face on fire, her eyes now on her shoes as she twiddled with her fingers nervously.

"You sure? Is somethin' else wrong?" He wondered. Her eyes caught his and she pouted sweetly at him. He looked genuinely concerned about her and it melted her insides.

"Goku?" She called his name.

"Hmm?" He hummed in response.

"Can I ... can we ... maybe, kiss again?" She asked him unsurely.

"Kiss? But, I thought you said we hav'ta do that tomorrow at the weddin'?" he scratched his head confused.

"Well, we do have to kiss for the wedding, but, maybe we could practice again, just to make sure we get it right. Practice makes perfect, right?" She thought, hopeful he'd allow her to kiss him once more. It was only a very quick kiss the first time. She was learning just as much as he was, and she wanted to feel more confident kissing him properly in front of everyone tomorrow.

She observed as Goku mulled it over. Goku always liked to get things right. Especially with his martial arts. It may take a few times, but he prided himself on getting things right and being the best at it. He wasn't sure how he felt about kissing Chichi, he didn't understand it, but it was something married people did. He was in shock the first time they kissed and he guessed he didn't kiss her long enough to really grasp how it made him feel. Maybe doing it again would help him understand it better.

"Okay, I guess we could try it again" he agreed. Chichi could have jumped for joy, but instead, she remained composed so not to scare him off and walked over to him, her toes almost touching his as she stood in front of him.

"Okay" she breathed out, mentally preparing herself. She wanted to make this a better kiss than the last one, not that their first kiss was terrible, but it just didn't last very long. Chichi stood up on her tiptoes and closed her eyes, her lips softly brushing against Goku's. As their lips met, a tingling sensation ran through her entire body, her heart racing, a beautiful flutter forming in her stomach.

Wow, every butterfly in the entire World must have relocated to her stomach. It sure felt like it.

As they kissed, Goku focused everything on the kiss, concentrating so hard, trying to understand it, trying to understand how it made him feel. It certainly made him feel warm all over his body, and it made his heart beat really fast in his chest. Her lips felt so soft against his, probably the softest thing he'd ever felt before.

He felt her lips move against his, so he carefully copied her, a bit awkwardly, but he followed her movements. It made him feel uneasy, but at the same time it got his blood rushing through his body. It was the strangest feeling and he really couldn't describe it any better than that. He felt her rest her small hands on his large chest, but he was unsure where to put his, so he let them hang at his sides. As their mouths moved slowly together, he suddenly felt something warm and wet swipe at his bottom lip and it made him jolt and pull away from her.

"What was that?" He questioned her, his wide, curious eyes darting back and forth hers.

"Oh, I ... wanted to try something. I'm sorry, you didn't like it?" She said sadly, afraid she put him off and ruined the moment.

"I ... dunno. What did ya do?" He asked her again.

"I ... I used my tongue. Sometimes you can use your tongue when you're kissing. I've not done it before, so I'm not sure I did it right".

She had that sad look upon her face again, her head then dipping down almost as if she was ashamed of herself.

"I'm sorry, Goku. I ruined our kiss. Maybe I should go" she told him, but she was very surprised to feel his one hand gently cupping her face and tilting her chin up so their eyes could meet.

"Hey, I don't understand all of this, Chichi, but I don't think ya ruined anythin'" he told her sincerely.

"You don't?" Goku shook his head at Chichi, assuring her the kiss wasn't ruined.

"Maybe we can try it again?" he suggested. Chichi's smile was nearly splitting her cheeks and Goku felt an overwhelming feeling of happiness strike him like lightning. How did she do that? How did her smile make him feel so good?

"I'd love to try it again, but only if you want to" she told him.

"Ye, I do" he assured her.

She felt his hand move against her cheek, his fingers almost tracing a line down her jawline. His eyes checked with hers first before he closed them and clumsily pressed his lips against hers. Chichi thought her legs were going to buckle and she was going to melt into the ground. He was kissing her! He was kissing her! She rested her petite hands on his large chest, for stability more than anything, her palms gingerly massaging the taut muscles over his shirt, before slowly snaking their way up to his shoulders. Her actions were doing something to him as his hold on her jaw became a little firmer, his mouth moving with hers more eagerly.

Kami, she'd only had a little taste, and already she realised she'd never have enough of him.

As the kiss continued, she became more confident in herself, letting her tongue run along his bottom lip, and this time Goku didn't pull away. Goku felt like everything just went quiet, only the sound of his thumping heart reaching his ears. Her tongue dipped into his mouth and he found himself returning the favour, their tongues meeting, tasting, entangling. And it stole his breath away, but gave it straight back to him, so he could keep on kissing her.

He was a fast learner, she discovered, not that she was experienced herself in any way. But, he didn't take too long to learn the steps of their wedding dance and it didn't take him long to learn how to kiss her.

Before she could bring their kiss to a close, his arms were suddenly around her and she felt a rush of helplessness hit her, like a surging tidal wave of warmth slamming into her and leaving her limp. He bent her head back across his arm, his kisses soft, but the intensity of them making her cling to him, his body being the only solid thing in her dizzying, swaying state. A soft moan escaped her, a noise that she'd never heard from herself before, and it evoked sensations in Goku like he'd never experienced before, wild tremors zipping along his nerves, goosebumps spreading along his hot skin.

Her hands found his hair, her fingers carding through his wild, thick locks, making him shiver. Goku held her closer to him, the feel of her body against his stirring something new inside of him, something he couldn't describe. His tongue dipped back into her mouth and as he breathed through his nose he inhaled her scent, the sweet smell like a magnetic pull to him in a way he just didn't understand, but he wanted more of.

But, Chichi ended the kiss just a moment later, worried it was getting too heated and that they'd go too far before being married.

"Oh, wow, that was so romantic" Chichi gushed a little breathlessly, her cheeks stained pink. Goku stared at her for a few seconds, not really feeling like he was there, like he was lost in his own little World again. He'd never felt such sensations before, it was completely alien to him. But, whatever it was, he liked it.

"So ... is that what we gotta do tomorrow?" he finally spoke.

"Oh, no!" Chichi blurted out, "we can't kiss like that in front of everyone"

"We can't?"

"No, it's not proper. We can only kiss like that when we're alone. When we kiss tomorrow at the wedding, it just needs to be a small kiss, a bit like the first kiss that we had" she educated him. Goku scratched the side of his head.

"Okay, I guess"

"Okay, well, goodnight, Goku" she softly spoke, raising onto her tiptoes to give him a sweet peck on his cheek and then leaving the room. For a few seconds Goku simply stood there, frozen on the spot, trying to take in everything that just happened. He didn't understand any of it, but it completely blew his mind, knowing what kissing was and how it made him feel. There were very few things that made him feel good, like bring with his grandpa, fighting and eating, but this was a very different kind of good. He'd never felt this kind of good before.

That's when he noticed a little problem. Confused, he looked down at his pants and noticed there was a bulge forming.

"What the..." why was he getting hard? That didn't normally happen unless it was the morning. Some mornings he would wake up to an erection and it was really annoying. It was hard to pee with and it just felt so uncomfortable in his pants. He turned off the floor lamp and walked over to his bed and he tried to adjust himself. Man, he felt really tight down there. What was that all about? He hoped Chichi didn't see it, that would have been a bit embarrassing. Girls didn't have a penis and balls, so Chichi probably would have freaked out over it. He chucked all of the ridiculously small cushions onto the floor, then getting frustrated by the multiple sheets, before he finally slid into bed and it didn't take him too long before he drifted off to sleep.

Chichi closed her bedroom door behind her once she got inside and she rested her back against it, letting out a breath. She was still on cloud 9 after kissing Goku, but she couldn't help but feel confused by it, too. He had no idea what kissing was, what any of it was, yet he tapped her on her private area as kids. Did he forget about that, just like he forgot about her? Or did he have no idea what he was really doing? She made her way over to her large chest of drawers and pulled out a long nightgown, then setting it on her bed, ready to put on.

She recalled that day, where they flew together on Nimbus and he tapped her private part with his foot. Thinking about it now, it was strange he used his foot instead of his hand. And really thinking about it now, she could remember him saying something about her being a girl. She felt her whole body slump at the thought, only now realising what Goku meant by it. She'd lived in a fantasy world for years, dreaming of the day he'd come back to take her hand, daydreaming about the day he pledged his attraction to her when he touched her. But, after witnessing his misunderstanding of his promise, his bewilderment around marriage and what a bride was and his lack of knowledge around kissing, she realised she was wrong about everything.

Kami, she was so wrong. She felt so stupid. So damn stupid. After all this time, she dreamt up some fairytale story in her head about him, and nothing more than that.

She removed her cheongsam, leaving herself in just her underwear, and made her way to her bathroom to wash her face and brush her teeth. As she brushed her teeth, her eyes were fixed on her reflection in the mirror. She looked at herself, her soft, pale complection, her big doe eyes, her long, dark hair as it cascaded around her shoulders, her lithe but strong figure, her medium sized perky breasts. She didn't think she was a supermodel, but she thought she looked pretty good. Knowing what she did about Goku, she knew that someone with strength was very appealing to him, so she wanted to be the strongest she could be for him.

She didn't think she'd actually beat him at the tournament, she just hoped she got a shot at matching up with him. To her delight, the two were matched up, so she was able to show off her strength and skills to him. But, he knocked her out of that ring like she was a sheet of paper being blown over in a gentle wind. It certainly hurt her pride, but it made her like him even more. She thought Goku would want a strong woman as a wife, but she wanted a strong man as a husband, too. She'd had many offers from suitors at her father's village, but she turned down every single one of them. It wasn't just the fact she believed Goku was going to return to her and marry her, it was also the fact that none of them were strong enough for her.

She may not have trained as fiercely as Goku did, but she did train hard to be the best she could be for him. She wanted to get his attention and show off how far she'd come. She was not prepared for his almost amnesic behaviour towards her.

She stood still, her toothbrush just hanging in her mouth as she stared into the mirror. Maybe she was being dramatic. Maybe Goku did like her, but he just forgot things, like he forgot who she was. Maybe he just wasn't very good at showing how he felt. She exhaled deeply through her nose before removing her toothbrush and spitting out the toothpaste in her mouth. She really didn't know what the think of the situation. But, she knew she still wanted to marry him. She was very much attracted to him and wanted nothing more than to be his wife.

Maybe she could make this work.

May 8th.

It was the day of the wedding. And Chichi was beyond excited! She didn't sleep much the night before, her mind wouldn't be quiet as she contemplated Goku's behaviour, a hundred different questions soaring through her head, but her tiredness was nothing when compared to her excitement. Today was the day she had been dreaming of since she was a little girl! Today was the day she finally married Son Goku!

Whilst Chichi was exhilarated all day, Goku felt overwhelmed. All of the attention was on him and Chichi, so many people wanted to talk to them, there were so many pictures taken he lost count. He stuttered during their vows and felt like a donkey, a few of the villagers gently laughing when he messed up his words. He wasn't the best with his words anyway, but being put on the spot in front of so many people, being so close to Chichi made him feel so nervous. It was a lot and the stupid, tight, stuffy suit he had to wear didn't help any. He managed to get the kiss right, just a brief, small kiss to her lips, but his lips trembled against hers.

The sight of her about to walk down the aisle had him tongue tied, too. He couldn't remember Chichi walking down the aisle and reaching him, his mind just went blank. The dress she wore was something he'd never seen on her before, or any girl for that matter. It was a big, white dress, one which she told him was her mother's wedding dress, so it was special to her. But, he wasn't sure what the right words were to describe her. He remembered Krillin saying she was "hot" and "cute", but, he didn't really know what those words meant. How did Krillin know Chichi was hot if he didn't touch her and feel she was hot? And cute? Did that mean she looked nice? Was that the word he was looking for? Chichi looked cute ...

Goku was definitely a bit stressed. And he rarely got stressed.

Chichi noticed he wasn't his normal self, so she spent her time reassuring Goku and distracting him, talking about things that were not wedding related, things that Goku enjoyed. Chichi managed to calm him by talking about the food and training. After the embarrassment of being defeated with one small blow from Goku, Chichi wanted to be better, so she asked Goku if he would train her. Any stress or anxiety left his body in that moment.

The large feast that was put on for them made him forget it, too. The food was incredible and so was dessert. He wasn't so keen on the bubbly drink they had, so he opted for some orange juice instead. He enjoyed listening to Chichi's father as he made a 'toast' to them, which he learnt wasn't the edible kind. He already liked Chichi and knew she was a good person, but the things the old man said about her made him feel like she was a really good person. The Ox King also said nice things about Goku, which had him feeling sheepish, to which Chichi could only coo over as she clung to him like vines.

His anxiety did resurface when they had to do their first dance together. He felt so out of his comfort zone when they danced in front of everyone. He would happily parade around the fighting arena at the world martial arts tournament and show off his skills, but this made him feel all sorts of apprehension. But, Chichi kept him focused on her and kept giving him words of encouragement to get him through it. She also soothed him by rubbing his large hands with her gloved thumbs, an act that a day ago would have made him feel embarrassed, but today, she noticed, calmed him some. Chichi thought for someone so generally confident and aloof, he sure could be shy and anxious and it was so endearing to her. There was definitely another side to Goku that he didn't let off too much. She couldn't wait to explore more of it.

Some time later, the Ox King sat quietly, watching the newly wedded couple as they talked at one of the many tables at the ceremony. Chichi had placed a variety of foods in front of him, Goku's second feast of the day, which Goku happily scarfed down, his daughter then chiding him for his table manners. He snorted out a laugh as he watched them, Goku trying to eat more slowly as Chichi wiped the food from his messy mouth.

He couldn't help but think about his conversation the night before with his daughter, before they all retired to bed. It had him questioning the wedding and questioning whether Goku was the right one for his daughter, but, he lost that battle pretty quickly...

"He forgot about me, dad"

"He forgot?"

"Yes, when I found him at the tournament, he couldn't even remember who I was and he forgot his promise to me" Ox saw the sad look on his daughter's face as she stared out of her bedroom window.

"Well, it was a few years ago, honey, you were just children. Children forget things"

"I didn't forget" she pointed out. Her father motioned for his daughter to sit with him at the foot of her bed, to which she did.

"I know, but it sounds like he's had a very busy few years travelling around the world and doing some extensive training. He probably didn't mean to forget"

"I know, but he promised me that day he left that he'd come back to take my hand. You shouldn't keep promises you can't keep. I really thought he meant it"

"But, he remembered when you told him who you were, right?" Ox tried to be more positive about it.

"He did ... but, he didn't understand what he promised. He had no idea that taking someone's hand meant marriage" This was news to the Ox King.

"So, if he misunderstood, why did he agree to marry you?"

"His friends sort of explained what being married was and he just agreed to do it. He said he promised me, so he'd keep his promise"

"So, he's marrying you just for a promise? Nothing more? I thought you said there was something more between you?" The Ox King remembered his daughter being so excited about how Goku told her he liked her when they were flying together as kids on nimbus. They were only kids back then, but Chichi was adamant Goku had feelings for her. Didn't that happen? Chichi went quiet. She hadn't told her father the whole truth about that. I mean, how did you tell your father that a boy touched your private parts without permission? She was sure her father would rip Goku's head off if he knew about it.

"Um, well, there was something between us" Chichi thought, "but, I guess he forgot about that" she said quietly. The Ox King scooted closer to his daughter and took her tiny hands in his giant ones.

"Chichi, you don't have to go ahead with this wedding. We can put an end to it all right now and you can pursue someone else, someone who will actually have feelings for you" her father assured her.

"No, I want to marry him, dad" she quickly responded, her eyes meeting his.

"But, why?" the Ox King just couldn't understand it.

"Because ... I really like him. He's strong, he's so sweet, he's so nice to me, I enjoy being around him and talking to him" Chichi told her father.

"Honey, you can feel that way about a friend, that doesn't mean you should marry them. You don't know each other at all"

"You married mom without knowing her much" she pointed out to her father. He frowned a little and Chichi sighed, "I know I don't know a lot about him, daddy, but I want to learn all about him. He's a good person and he is good for me. He treats me nicely, he makes me smile and he's strong and can keep me safe. And I know I can be good for him, too. I can take care of him and teach him how to be a good husband".

"That's a lot of work, Chichi" her father told her. Her father wasn't wrong. From what she knew of Goku so far, he knew very little about the real world.

"He doesn't understand things like you and I, dad, he lived alone in the mountains for so long. He didn't get the education I did or learn about life like I did. He just needs someone who will be willing to teach him and i'm willing!" she was certain of it, her once sad face changing to a happy and determined one. Her father sighed, but he couldn't help but give his daughter a small smile. She was incredibly head strong and clearly very determined to make this marriage work.

"Okay, Chichi, if that's what you really want, then we will go ahead with the wedding" he gave in.

"Yes, it's what I want, i'm sure of it" she chirped.

"Okay, but if you change your mind, even after you're married, you tell me straight away and you can come straight back home, okay?"

"Okay" she smiled sweetly up at him. She let her head rest against her father's large chest, his one arm around her.

"I hope this works out for you, honey. I just want you to be happy" her father gently spoke.

"I know, daddy"

"I love you, you know that don't you?" he told her, her head moving from his chest so she could look at him.

"I know. I love you, too" she smiled warmly back up at him.

The Ox King observed as his daughter left the table and headed inside, possibly to use the restroom. The Ox King took this as his opportunity to go and speak to the groom alone. Goku had finished the food Chichi had laid out for him when the giant man reached him.

"Goku, how are you doing? Enjoying the food?" The Ox King spoke.

"Ye, it's great! I never tasted so many different things before" Goku was content. He was very full and very satisfied after several helpings of delicious food.

"Glad to hear! You need a healthy appetite to feed that energy of yours" he chuckled out. Goku grinned and patted his round stomach, which was almost bursting out of his tight white suit. Ox took a seat next to his new son-in-law, quiet for a moment as he thought about his words.

"Son, now that you're married to my daughter you have a really big responsibility, you know that, don't you?" he started.

"Uh, ye, I guess so. We're family now, right? An' families have to look out for each other, so, it's my job to have Chichi's back an' keep her safe" Goku told him. Ox liked what he had to say, but wanted more from him.

"But, you also have the responsibility of making my daughter happy. That's the most important thing of all, besides keeping her safe"

"But, I thought she was happy? She looks happy an' she told me she was happy" Goku thought.

"Yes, but, you have to keep making her happy. It's not just about today and the wedding, it's about forever making each other happy. You need to show her you love her and care for her" he told Goku.

"Oh, by sleepin' together?" Goku guessed. The Ox King's eyes widened and he just gaped at his son-in-law.

"You ... what?" he just about managed to stutter out.

"Some guys from the village told me I had to sleep with her tonight to show her how much I love her. I don't know much about love, but I was plannin' on sleepin' with her anyway. That's what ya do when ya live together, right? But, then they said somethin' about me makin' her feel good an' I-"

"-Okay, son, I think I got it" the Ox King quickly shut him down. Goku shrugged and picked up his glass of juice and happily chugged it down.

If Goku wasn't so God damn naïve and his face wasn't so innocent, the Ox King could have punched him square in the nose. The damn villagers, telling his son-in-law illicit things. He didn't want to have those sort of conversations with his son-in-law, he didn't ever want to think about his daughter doing such acts, she was his baby girl after all and always would be. But, it did have him wondering if Goku had any clue as to what the villagers were telling him. He took a deep breath and decided on his next words very carefully.

"Look, whatever happens tonight ... or any other night for that matter, just promise me you will always treat her well. That you will listen to her, be patient and gentle with her. Always be honest with her, never keep secrets from your wife! You both have a lot to learn about one another and sometimes it will be really hard, but you don't give up on her! Put it this way" he tried to explain to Goku, "If you're in a tough situation in a fight, and you're feeling like you're gonna lose, what do you do?" He let Goku think about it for a second.

"I keep goin'. I don't give up until I can't get up. An' even then, I'll keep tryin' to get back up" Goku spoke quite passionately.

"That's right! And that's exactly the attitude you need to have with your marriage. You keep going! You keep trying together! You don't give up on each other" he agreed with his son-in-law. Goku nodded.

"I can do that"

"Good, that's what I want to hear" he tapped Goku on his back happily, Chichi then making her way over to them at the table.

"Hey, honey, you enjoying your wedding?" her father bouncily asked. He couldn't help but melt at the big smile on her face as she stood behind Goku, her hands resting proudly on her husband's broad shoulders.

"It's been the best day ever, dad! But, i'm ready to get going now".

Goku observed shortly after Chichi declared they were leaving, how Chichi and the Ox King became emotional as they said their goodbyes. Goku didn't quite understand it. He left people all the time, like his friends, but it never made him particularly sad. He knew he'd see them again someday. He wondered why they were so sad if they were gonna see each other again. Mount Paozu wasn't that far away from Fire Mountain.

"Here, honey, some gifts for you and Goku to start your new life together" the Ox King tearfully told his daughter as he handed her a white capsule with a blue strip around it.

"What's inside it?" Chichi wondered as she stared at it in the palm of her right hand.

"It's a surprise" he told her with a smile, "And all the things you wanted to pack from your room are in there, too". Chichi huffed out a laugh, before feeling emotional again and burying herself into her father's enormous arms once more.

"Thank you, daddy" she murmured into his suit. They ended their final hug and the Ox King walked her over to Goku, who stood happily next to Nimbus.

"Goku, you take good care of my daughter now, you hear?" he told him seriously.

"I will, I promise" Goku assured him. The Ox King nodded and watched as Goku hopped up onto the flying cloud before reaching down to take Chichi's hand to pull her up with him. Chichi adjusted her poofy wedding dress as she sat behind Goku, before turning to look at her father one last time.

"I'll miss you, daddy" she gently spoke.

"I'll miss you, too, so much. Just take care of one another and enjoy this time together" he told them both. Both Goku and Chichi nodded at his words, before Goku instructed Nimbus to take off.

"See ya, Ox King!" Goku shouted as they zoomed off into the sky.

"Bye, daddy!"

Her father bore a sad smile on his face as he watched them disappear into the afternoon sky, memories of his daughter suddenly flooding into his mind, from when she was born, to days as a young child and finally to now.

"Bye, sweetheart" he whispered to the air.
