Triad of Light

ToL: Chapter 1

It was a beautiful August morning here in the small town of Peach Creek. In this town, we zoom in on a neighborhood called the Peach Creek Cul-De-Sac, onto one of the houses where we could see a somewhat short fifteen-year-old boy sleeping soundly in his bed. The teen was named Eddy.

The alarm from Eddy's clock started to beep, waking him up with a bit of a small groan of annoyance. He opened his dark blue eyes to see what time it was; 6:15 a.m.

Eddy groaned again, "Guess I gotta go to school… Great," he said with a small yawn, "Don't wanna get in trouble if I skip out."

It had been only a day and a half since he and his friends returned from a trip from an area outside of Greece… Well, it was not so much of a proper trip, but more like a rescue mission. He was still feeling exhausted from all that had happened within the last week.

A few moments later, Eddy was all ready and dressed for the day ahead. He cooked and ate a small breakfast for himself before rushing out of his house, grabbing his backpack, and locking his front door behind him as he did. 7:05 a.m. was the current time.

At the entrance of the Cul-De-Sac, Eddy could see his two friends, Ed and Double D, standing there, waiting for him to show up. The three of them soon walked off toward their school, chatting a little as they did.

Ed made a giant yawn, "Man, I still feel sleepy."

"I'm feeling a little tired too," Double D said with a small yawn of his own.

Eddy arched his eyebrow to Double D, "Huh, I didn't picture you staying up all night, Sockhead."

"Well, it was mostly to catch up on the homework I did not do before the sudden trip," Double D replied, "I at least wanted to finish it before returning to school!"

Eddy sighed at his statement, "Now that makes a lot more sense for you to do."

Soon the three Eds reached the outside area of their high school. Eddy glanced around the area for a moment as they came up to the school's entrance as if he was looking for something; or someone, to be more precise. The other two noticed Eddy's behavior.

"… She's probably already inside the school building," Double D said with a small smile.

Eddy flinched a little in shock at his words, 'Am I that predictable?' he thought.

Ed made his usual toothy smile, "C'mon, let's go!" he cheered, dashing a little ahead of his friends toward the school doors. The other two only sighed as they quickly followed him.

Inside the school, they quickly made their way to their homeroom class, just in time for the bell to ring as they entered the classroom. They could see their fellow neighbors/classmates Kevin, Nazz, and Rolf, as well as their close friends Ebony, Shayla, and Katrina. The girls and Eds smiled at each other as the Eds went to their seats, which was immediately noticed by everyone else in the room. Eventually, their homeroom teacher came into the room, ready to start the class.

Several hours later, on the other side of town, we could see Adam and Olivia exiting the hotel they were staying in, walking to their rental car to head towards Peach Creek High School. They had to meet up with the principal of the school to explain why six of their students had to skip a week of school.

As they were driving, Adam's cell phone started to ring, to which Olivia answered, "Hello, this is Olivia Ward, speaking for Adam. He's driving right now."

"Oh, Ms. Ward! This is an awful situation!" stated the voice of one of their assistants on the other line, "The body of the deceased emperor is missing!"

"… What?"

"And to make it worse, we caught footage of a huge creature flying off towards the sky and out of the cave!"

Olivia's face grew pale at hearing that, "… My god."

"We haven't seen or heard of anything after that, but we felt like you should know!"

"T-Thank you for this information. Goodbye," Olivia stated as she then hung up.

"Who was that on the phone?" Adam asked, his eyes focused on the road in front of him.

"You may want to hurry to the Cul-De-Sac, Adam."

"… Pardon?"

"I think there's trouble coming soon."

Elsewhere, back towards Peach Creek High School, we could see three people walking down the sidewalk, heading towards the school. It was Riku, Kairi, and King Mickey.

"Is this the place the lights led us towards?" Kairi asked.

Riku nodded his head, "Yeah, I'm pretty sure."

Mickey, on the other hand, was glancing at his surroundings, noticing how quiet it was, "We should stay on guard, I have a feeling the Heartless might target those lights we saw."

As if on cue, a few stray Shadow Heartless popped up in front of them, darting off towards the inside of the school, going underneath the door.

"Oh no!" gasped Mickey as he summoned out his Keyblade, "We have to stop them!"

Riku and Kairi nodded their heads as they followed the mouse into the school, summoning their Keyblades as they did.

Meanwhile, back with the Eds, we could see them paying attention to the class… Okay, that was a lie. Only Double D was paying attention to the lesson. Ed had dozed off while Eddy was glancing around, bored out of his mind. His eyes soon landed on Katrina, who was only partly paying attention to the lesson; she also had a bored expression on her face. Eddy smiled a little at her.

Suddenly, there was a very small shake, the whole building shook for a split second. The shock got everyone's attention, including Ed who had dozed off. Screams then erupted in the other classrooms and halls across the school.

"What in the world…?!" the homeroom teacher questioned as they went outside the room, only to also scream in fright at what was going on.

A lone Shadow soon slipped underneath the closed door, rising back up to lock its yellow gaze at the teens in the room, much to their shock at what was going on.

"W-What the heck is that thing?!" questioned Nazz as all the students got up out of their chairs.

Ed widened his eyes at the creature, "I've seen this thing before!"

The others glanced at Ed, "Then what is this creature, Tall-Ed-Boy?!" asked Rolf.

"… I don't know what it's called, but it's dangerous!"

Everyone groaned at that, "Figured as much," Kevin muttered.

Eddy rushed over to the closet that was in the room and grabbed a broom that was stored there, "Looks like the only way out of here is to fight that thing!" he stated to everyone.

His friends only nodded their heads while Kevin, Nazz, and Rolf looked at them in confusion.

Eddy gripped the broom he had and swung it at the Shadow, killing it with one blow. The Shadow dissipated into the air, releasing the heart it had inside of its shadowy body. Of course, since it was not a strike from a Keyblade, the heart that was released was swallowed back into the darkness. But at least this Shadow is gone, for now.

Eddy then turned to his classmates, "C'mon, we gotta get outta here!" he yelled.

Everyone nodded their heads, trying not to question too much about anything that had just happened. They all dashed out into the hallway, only to notice so many Shadows crawling around.

"T-This is not good!" Double D stuttered.

"Blizzaga!" yelled out a high-pitched voice.

Suddenly, all the Shadows in the hallway were covered in a small icy prison before crumbling apart, disappearing just like the other Shadows from before. Everyone turned to see where the attack came from, only to be greeted by a mouse with two very round ears in their vision. It was King Mickey, Riku, and Kairi, their Keyblades in hand.

"Are you kids alright?" asked Mickey.

The group of teens was stunned at the sight of their saviors, a weird mouse just saved them. And he could talk?!

"Y-Yes sir, we're alright now," Shayla replied, regaining her composure faster than everyone else.

It was Riku who noticed Ebony, Shayla, and Katrina's presence; the highlights in their hair were the same colors as the lights that led them here, "The school is under attack by the Heartless," he started to say to the teens.

Kairi then gestured towards the entrance, which was close by, "We'll protect you all, come on!"

The group soon rushed out of the school, alongside a few other students, teachers, and school staff members. Suddenly, everyone could hear a booming roar from up above them. Up in the sky, they could see a dark blue dragon above them, which soon perched on top of the school's roof. Of course, a lot of the people in the area started to run away at the sight of the dragon.

The dragon suddenly jumped off the school building, landing right in front of the Eds and their friends, morphing into a familiar, hostile figure as he did. The Eds and the girls stood there in horror and disbelief at who it was, "Belindra!" they all shouted. Kevin, Nazz, and Rolf looked at them in confusion.

The man laughed at their reactions, "That would be 'Emperor' Belindra, thank you very much," he retorted.

Mickey was the one who took note of something on Belindra's chest, "He has a Heartless emblem."

"What, this thing?" Belindra pointed to the emblem, "That witch and her crony said I could control the Heartless if I fully embraced the dark power I controlled."

"More like the opposite," Mickey replied. His Keyblade was in an attack stance towards Belindra. He then turned to Riku and Kairi, "Take these kids to safety, he's clearly after them."

"Yes, your majesty!" both Riku and Kairi stated.

The group of teens soon darted away from the area, towards the direction of the Cul-De-Sac.

"Hmph, I'll get to them in a moment," Belindra growled under his breath before turning his attention back to Mickey, "That witch told me about you and your meddlesome crew," he stated, "She had a feeling you would show."

He then formed an ice sword out of the darkness in his hands, "Let's see how you are against my powers, my fellow king!"

Author's Note: Oh hey! It's the sequel to the story I made last year! Not much to say right now except that this is a sequel to a previous story (obviously), and that Kingdom Hearts is crossed over with this. That's about it.
