My name is Delia prior . My parent are both the leaders of abnegation: Andrew and Natalia prior . I have two sisters and a brother whose name are : beatrice ， Maria and Caleb prior
Today is my 16 years old birthday but I will be unable to celebrate because that will be self indulgent. However it also means that it is time for me to choose . I can either choose to stay in abnegations or I can choose to leave them.
However if I choose to leave them ， then that mean that I forsake my family permanently. That is because since the city believed in faction before blood .
"Delia ， come downstair and cut your hair ." Someone are calling my name
I know that is ted ， my body guard from dauntless since my mom was pregnant with beatrice and Caleb .
"I am coming." I say
I open the door and sneak out of the room . When I get downstair ， my mom is already standing there in front of the mirror . I sit down in front of the mirror . Mom smiles at me
"So are you happy with the party tonight?" She asks
"I don't know . Kind of ." I shrug.
"Are you nervous for tomorrow ?" She brushes my hair
Tomorrow is the aptitude test which will tell me which factions that I will belong to.
"The test doesn't need to change our choice so I don't care ." I say.
"Right." She kisses my cheek
She trims my hair carefully. My mom is so beautiful even in grey robe . However she has to hide her beauty in abnegation.
"Thanks for cutting my hair ." I smile at her as best as I can.
We get downstair to have breakfast. Caleb is cooking breakfast now . I sit down beside beatrice . Beatrice and Maria are laughing with ted
"Good morning sister ." Beatrice squeaks
"Morning beautiful ." I kiss both of them on their cheeks ."How are you guys doing?"
"We are great. What are you planning to do today morning?" Maria asks
I don't know but I have to go to erudite to celebrate for Jason coulter
"Jason coulter was elected as the leader of erudite . I want to go celebrate with him." I say.
"You know that dad doesn't like erudite sister " Caleb snorts
"That's me and Jeanine Matthew . You can go Delia . You can go to dauntless with Jason together . We will go after ." dad sighs . "do not listen to caleb."
ted looks at me . mom comes and sits down
"i talked to max last week. he will give ted a good job." Mom smiles .
"I can stay with family forever . I don't need a better job. "Ted shakes his head
"Ted I am an adult now . I can protect myself ." I sigh.
I know the reason why he chooses to stay with us is because he likes me but I don't. I know that I can't choose abnegation because I need to find my memories back
My instinct told me that I can find memory in dauntless so I have to find out why.
"If this is what you want, then I will do it for you." Ted sighs . "Do you want me to go with you to erudite ?"
"Max wanted to have a meeting with you this morning so you shouldn't go with Delia ." Dad shakes his head
After breakfast, I leave the house alone . I walk to the bus station. There aren't many people at the stop today because no one are going to school. I wait around 5minute and bus is here .
I let an older woman to get in first and I get on last. I am abnegation so I have to put other people before me . I stand beside a Candor woman. The Candor sees truth as black and white so that's what they wear .
" stiff, you are pretty." The Candor woman smirks at me . "The prettiest girl in abnegation,"
"She is Natalia's daughter." The man beside her says . "So she resembles her."
"Thanks for your compliment but I am not stiff ."I say
I know that nickname was given by Jeanine Matthew so that's why my dad hates her so much. When I get to erudite , I get off the bus . I walk to the center building.
Jason is always there in library studying and his office is there too. I see that Jason is talking to two older men.
"Hey Delia ." He waves at me
"Hey Jason, I am sorry that I should bring you something but I didn't have time for it." I hug him. "Congratulation."
"Just one vote ." He hugs me back. "However thank you."
He walks me to his office . Eric and Abby are there
"Hello Eric ." I smile at him.
"Hey Delia , this is Abby. My girlfriend ." Eric introduced me . "This is my brother's best friend Delia."
"I know her . We are best friends in school." Abby hugs me . "Welcome to erudite ."
I nod at Eric . Eric nods at me . Eric is Jason's brother . He is also like my brother .
"Do you want to go for a fuzzy drink. We will go to dauntless together tonight." Abby grabs my hand
Dauntless has cake and erudite has fuzzy drinks . However abnegation doesn't have any treat
"Sure , I never try it before ." I smiles at her
She takes me out of the office . Everyone here know Jason likes me
"So you know that Jason likes you right?" She asks . "Why you still come to meet him."
"I know but he is my friend . I don't want to hurt him." I sigh. "I am not choosing erudite ."
"So you are staying in abnegation right?" Abby frowns
I shake my head . I know that no matter what result I have tomorrow will not change my mind
"Where are you going then?" Abby blinks her eyes at me . "I will not tell anyone ."
"Dauntless . I lost all my memories before 16 so I have to go there to find it back." I shrug . "I am following my instinct."
We get to the cafeteria . We sit down and Abby ask for two fuzzy drinks .
"I hope that you like it. I love the drink." She says . "It is cold and refreshing."
"I never try it. I heard dauntless has good cake ." I raise my eyebrows
"They do and I tried it before . They are really good." She holds my hand . "I wish that you don't regret your choice Delia."
Server delivers the drink very soon. I take a sip. It is lemonade .
"It is good." I scoff
"You are such a liar Delia . I know that you don't like it." Abby rolls her eyes
"It's not that good but fine ." I sigh. "You are so smart."
I finish the whole cup in a minute. It is fuzzy and little sweet. After a few hour , we are going to the dauntless headquarter . I agree to sit with Jason in the same car .
"So you are nervous ." Jason looks at me
"Not really, I know what I want already ." I am shivering. "I am nervous to be in the close distance with you."
"We are best friends so far." He holds my hand . "You don't need to be nervous ."
I don't say a word . I lean against the window .
"However I still feel bad ." I shake my head . "No reason."
We get dauntless very quickly. We are the first few people get there . We walk into dauntless headquarter . Max is talking to ted .
"Hello Delia ! " max is surprised . "Why are you with Jason ?"
"She is my friend . I invited her for lunch so we come together ." Jason smiles . "So ted now is coming back?"
"He will be one of the instructor but I don't know which one ." Max shrugs . "Probably for transfers."
Ted looks at me . He is jealous and I know it. I and Abby walk into the cafe together . We sit down at a table .
"Hello Abby!" A dauntless girl waves at us
"Hey Shauna , this is Delia . My best friends." Abby smiles .
"I know her . She is pretty." Shauna nods at me . "Want a piece of cake ."
I nod at her and I take it. Then I see someone coming downstair
"Who is he ?" I frown. "He looks so scary."
"He ? Alan Davis , yes he is the scariest man in this universe . He is our best fighters and shooters." Shauna sighs . "Don't go near him,"
However alan Davis is is so handsome . I stare at him. When he turns around , I turn back so quickly.
"He saw you Delia ." Shauna shrugs . "He is angry today for no reason."
"Why?" I ask
"I don't know ." A girl sits down again. "I am Marlene ."
Marlene takes a piece of cake from the plate . She looks happy
"I am happy anyway. I have so many friends ." Marlene smiles
"You are cute ." I say
Now my family come and they sit down behind me
"Sister you seem happy." Beatrice hugs me .
"Your sister !" Marlene is surprised . "So many sisters and brother ."
"Yeah I know but they are cute ." I laugh.
Maria and Caleb are playing game now . Caleb seems relaxed a little .
"So tomorrow is the test Delia ."Abby drinks the water . "Are you nervous ."
"I know where I am going so I am not." I shake my head . "I don't know what to expect."
Marlene nods at me . They all think that I will stay in abnegation but they are wrong. Abnegation is most loyal faction but I will be the exception.
"So good luck for you." Shauna holds her cup. "Let's cheer."
"Thanks you." I laugh.
We are so happy together and dauntless suddenly feel like home
