Ben and Kim enjoyed their date, and the Alien hero took her home.

"That was fun, Ben…" Kim said.

"Yeah, I had fun too, Kim…" Ben said

They were about to kiss until the door flung open, and Kim's father, James Possible, saw what would happen.

"Kimmie-cub! Who is this, and what were you about to do with his lips?" he said sternly.

"Um, oh, Dad, I thought you would be home later, and I was hoping to introduce you to Ben later ," Kim said nervously.

James frowned at Kim, not telling him about Ben and her dating.

"Sir, it's not Kim's fault that she wanted to go on dates like a normal teen. Please don't punish her for experiencing what teenagers do. And I won't do anything to her to hurt her if my name isn't Ben Tennyson…" Ben said

James was surprised by what the young man said to him. As he looked at Ben and how honest he was, James had to think for a moment before answering the young boy. "It seems that you're honest about wanting to date my Kimmie-cub. Okay then, I'll let you continue seeing my daughter, but if you break her heart, then I'm sending you into a black hole…" James was slightly jokingly.

"Oh, okay." Ben nervously smiles at his girlfriend's father.

The planet hadn't been the sight of such destruction since its original inhabitants and their enemies had wiped each other out in a terrible war ages ago

Now a new battle was being waged on the surface and in the space above the planet

Warships and mechanical drones battled with figures made of orange light from the bridge of the flagship Psyphon watched as an entire warship was destroyed.

The third ship in as many minutes.

"He truly lives up to the legends," Psyphon admitted, having heard the tales of the only inhabitant of Okara. No one knew who he had been or where he came from.

But all knew the titles he bore now.

The king of greed.

The marauder of Oa.

Agent Orange.

Larfleeze the Orange Lantern Corps

The titles were as magnificent as his deeds, and few would dare to challenge the power of the Orange light of Avarice. The few who did never returned

Even Thanos, the Mad Titan, would not set foot on Okara.

Until today

Today, the king of greed would be forced to kneel before the greatest warrior in the universe, more powerful than Darkseid himself.

Lord Vilgax

On the planet's surface, the battle continued where once stood a forest that was now a barren wasteland of ash and rubble as two titans clashed.

One was Vilgax, conqueror of worlds. The other was a figure three feet tall with brown fur and two rows of tusks on the other side of his mouth, wearing a black body suit with orange plating over it.

A power ring glowing on his finger.

Larfleeze the Orange Lantern Corps.

Larfleeze stood on all fours and looked at the damage done to his world with a scowl. "You'll pay for coming to my world to burn what's mine," Larfleeze scowled.

"Our battle has yet to damage any of your precious possessions, lantern," Vilgax said dismissively.

"None of my possessions," Larfleeze growled with a tone that promised terrible vengeance. "this is Okara. Everything on this planet belongs to me. The ground you're standing on is mine. The trees you've burned are mine. The air in your lungs is mine. It's all mine, and I burn anyone who TAKES WHAT'S MINE."

Larfleeze held his ring up, shooting out a powerful beam. Storm clouds formed overhead, and orange lightning rumbled between the clouds before coming in a powerful bolt of lightning that would destroy a fleet.

Vilgax looked unimpressed as he pushed a button on his gauntlet. The lightning bolt dissipated inches from touching him, the storm clouds parted, and Larfleez's ring stopped glowing.

"What's happening," Larfleeze asked, confused. "Why can't I feel my power."

"You mean my power?" Larfleeze looked up from his ring in time to be blasted by orange energy, pinning him to the ground. Vilgax, surrounded by an aura of orange energy, grinned as he shot orange beams from his eye, hitting Larfleeze.

"Such wonderful power. I thank you for it. It will be the key to obtaining my prize," Vilgax gloated.

"How," Larfleeze asked through, gritting his teeth.

"How am I channeling your emotion without wearing your ring?" Vilgax asked, finishing his sentence. "it's simple, really. This device is an empathic redirection unit. It redirects your ring energy from your ring to myself," the conqueror explained, grabbing Larfleeze before choking him.

"Not to worry, Larfleeze, I won't kill you, not yet, for now. You have a use for me. Once I have the Omnitrix, your usefulness will expire, and only then shall I end your millennia-long existence."

Vilgax threw his fist down, creating a crater with the Orange Lantern's spine on the planet.

Vilgax's ship landed. Psyphon exited, followed by robots. "well done, my lord, you have conquered who many thought to be unconquerable as expected."

"As expected, Psyphon prepared the fleet. We fly to Earth. I have waited five years of recovering, building my strength, and reconquering my empire, reminding those who thought to rise against me of my power, but now the wait is over. I will have the Omnitrix and Ben Tennyson dead at my feet."

Psyphon bowed as Vilgax marched into his ship carrying the unconscious Larfleeze still in his hand, the orange light of Avarice surrounding the conqueror.

Psyphon followed after his master.

What had he done?

How could he be so stupid?

It happened earlier that day. Ben had been relaxing and enjoying Mr. Smoothie. It'd been nice to relax again; no high-breed invasion, no Forever Knights causing trouble, nothing.

Then Grandpa Max called and told him what was coming.

No, not what, who

Vilgax

Ben had thought Vilgax was gone for good, having not heard from him since he'd tossed him out of Xenon's atmosphere as Way Big.

Ben had yet to give much thought to Vilgax. He'd just assumed that the cold vacuum of space would have finished Vilgax.

Turns out he was wrong

Vilgax had been alive, and he'd rebuilt his empire and found a way to steal the powers of the Orange Lantern Corps.

Yeah, that was something new. There was more than just one color of lantern corps out there, one for every color of the rainbow.

Red was rage, orange was greed, yellow was fear, green would blue hope, indigo was compassion, and violet was love.

And the Orange Lantern Corps was just one super powerful guy who'd once taken on the whole Green Lantern Corps and won, according to Grandpa, and Vilgax beat him.

Now, he was coming here using some alien law to challenge Ben to a one-on-one fight. If Ben won, Vilgax would leave. If he didn't, according to galactic law, Vilgax ruled the world, and he had a fleet to back him up.

Ben needed every advantage he could get. He couldn't ask for help, so all he had was his aliens and Omnitrix

What he needed was the Master control

Or at least that's what he'd thought.

To try and unlock it, Ben and Kevin had tried to hack the Omnitrix trying to unlock the Master control.

But things went wrong. Some energy surge turned Kevin into a monster and nearly destroyed the Omnitrix.

It was all his fault.

Ben didn't look up when he heard footsteps behind him. He didn't bother to look up when he saw the red hair from the corner of his eye. "I'm not in the mood to talk, Gwen."

"That's fine since I'm not Gwen." Ben looked surprised to see Kim sitting next to him.

"I did something stupid."

"I know," Kim answered. "Why did you do it?"

"Because it's Vilgax. He's the worst enemy I ever thought, and he's come back stronger than ever. If you don't beat him, he will take over the world," Ben answered.

"Yeah, he's probably stronger, but so are you, Ben," Kim said. "You've ended two wars, you saved a civilization from extinction, you're smarter, you don't need Master control to be a hero. You already are one."

"I don't know if I can do this," Ben said

"I know you can," Kim replied

"How are you so confident?" he asked

"I've seen what you can do, Ben. I know you can do this," Kim answered," even when you think you can't."

Kim placed a kiss on his cheek before he stood up

It was time; he would have his revenge, and this world would be reduced to dust.

Once Tennyson entered the field, the conqueror's challenge would commence, and he'd have his revenge

And here he was now, right on time for his demise

"Tennyson, I've spent the last five years thinking of my revenge," Vilgax said. "Now that it's here, I'll savor it."

"That's funny. I haven't thought of you at all," he said, activating the Omnitrix.

"Raise the force field and begin the challenge," Vilgax ordered Psyphon, activating the empathic redirection unit as Tennyson transformed into a Vaxasaurian.

"Humongasaur," Tennyson called, looking at himself in surprise. "What do you know I got who I was hoping for?"

Enough inane prattle time to begin this. Vilgax drew his sword, rushing forward. Tennyson grew into the full size of a Vaxasaurian, roaring as he threw a punch.

Child's play

Vilgax swung his sword, unleashing a wave of the orange light that knocked Tennyson off his feet and sent him flying. Tennyson tapped the Omnitrix before he transformed into an Aerophibian. "Jet ray," Tennyson called, swooping up into the sky.

So Tennyson has learned how to change forms.

The amphibian flew high above him, firing neural blasts from his tail and eyes. Vilgax smirked as he absorbed the power into himself using the orange energy.

Vilgax returned and fired, unleashing a beam of orange energy from his eyes, hitting Tennyson in the wing and sending him plummeting toward the ground.

Tennyson tapped the Omnitrix again, changing forms into an Honupotae. Vilgax leaped out of the way, dodging as Tennyson's hardheaded form crashed through the planet's crust, devastating the ground.

"Wow, I knew Shellhead had a hard head, but I didn't know it was that hard," Tennyson said nonchalantly. Retracting his head, he tried to launch it out at him

Vilgax caught the appendage, pulling in the entire body before slamming him into the ground, repeating this again and again and again before unleashing an explosive wave of orange energy that sent Tennyson flying back

"Yield Tennyson, and I shall grant you the mercy of a fast death," Vilgax said. Now back in his pitiful human form, Tennyson glared back at him, saying nothing.

"I was hoping that would be your answer," Vilgax said before unleashing the orange energy's full power. He noticed Tennyson transform again, but it didn't matter.

No being in the Omnitrix had the power to withstand the full might of the orange energy. Tennyson would perish in swift and terrible agony no matter which alien he picked.

But something was wrong

Wrong

Why was the orange energy being drawn INTO Tennyson? What power could he possibly have? Vilgax's eyes widened at the purple crystalline alien, unlike any species Vilgax had ever seen absorbing the orange energy into him.

No, he couldn't lose, not again.

He needed more

More

More

He wouldn't stop until Tennyson was destroyed.

Cracks appeared on the emphatic redirection unit, but he still put more power into it, and Tennyson's form continued to absorb the orange energy.

Something would have to give, and it did

The emphatic redirection unit shattered, and Tennyson unleashed the full power of all the energy he'd absorbed. It sent Vilgax up into the sky through the force field and continued through the atmosphere.

"Curse you, Tennyson, curse you!" Vilgax shouted as he was sent flying through the cosmos

Back on Earth, Chromostone dropped to his knees before changing back to Ben. Sparks of orange electricity surged across his skin as he fell to his knees.

"Ben," he heard Kevin, Gwen, and Kim call out. They helped Ben to his feet, Kevin letting Ben lean against him. "that was without a doubt one of the craziest things you ever did."

"I told you you could do it," Kim said. "how did you do it?"

"I noticed he was using all those orange energy attacks. I could use Chromostone to absorb it and take away his trump card," Ben explained tiredly.

"Look at you beating Vilgax without master control," Gwen added. "just like I said before, you decided to try hacking the Omnitrix."

"Indeed" Ben and the others turned to see Azmuth.

"Azmuth, I thought you weren't going to speak to me again," Ben said. "or are you here to take the Omnitrix from me?"

"I'm tempted to do just that," Azmuth said. "you recklessly tampered with technology beyond your comprehension and could have destroyed the world, not the universe, as a result."

"I know," Ben agreed, holding out the Omnitrix. "If you want to take it, I won't stop you." Azmuth remained stoic and silent.

"This is a different tone from what you had the last we spoke of me taking the Omnitrix. You're not going to fight me spout about your accomplishments," Azmuth asked.

"It wasn't the Omnitrix that beat Vilgax; I did," Ben said, "and I hacked the Omnitrix. I mutated Kevin, and I nearly set off the self-destruct sequence. If I did, the Earth would have been destroyed without Vilgax being here, so take it if that's what you're here to do."

Azimuth and Ben stared at each other silently before Galvan leaped onto Ben's wrist, pressing a button before moving the dial and pushing it back down.

Kevin's body began to glow as the various minerals broke apart, going back into his normal skin. "I'm back to normal," Kevin asked.

"Yes, the Omnitrix was releasing a frequency that prevented you from powering down from your mutated form," Azmuth said, leaping off, leaving the Omnitrix on Ben's wrist.

"Azmuth, I don't understand why you aren't taking the Omnitrix."

"I invented the Omnitrix to promote peace so beings across the galaxy could understand each other," Azmuth said. "I let the Omnitrix remain in your care when you were a child because you showed me you were worthy of keeping it off-putting, doing what's right ahead of what you wanted. You showed you were still that boy."

Ben nodded. "Thank you, Azmuth"

"However, you have broken my trust with your reckless stunt. This is your first and only warning. Repeat a stunt like this again, and I will be taking my invention permanently," Azmuth warned, frowning

Ben nodded. "I promise I won't," Ben said. "I'll earn back your trust, Azmuth."

Azmuth didn't say anything. He vanished, leaving them alone.

Ben let out a sigh of relief. "Is it just me, or is an angry Azmuth scarier than Vilgax?"

"It's not just you," Kevin agreed.

"Maybe next time you'll think before hacking the Omnitrix," Gwen said, glaring at the two of them. Ben nodded.

"Lesson learned, promise I'm gonna take a nap now," Ben said before he slipped into unconsciousness.

Grim pops up. "I don't get why I'm here at the end of the chapter, man. No one kicked the bucket," he complained before smirking. "Although that might change if Larfleeze catches up to Vilgax," Grim lets out an evil cackle. "Hey, what happened to Larlfeeze anyway?"

He's fine. Azmuth transported him back to Okara.

"Ah, good anyways ya know the drill man read the review and all that," Grim said before disappearing.
